Sketch commission slots and bit of news

Most of you may know that I'm living in Ukraine and war is still here. Unfortunately, heat last weeks, stress because of overall situation and waking up because of explosions in the night, don't make my health any better. It all slowing down me in drawing what I own, but I keep going. Most of the new art I've shown in photos on my discord server, soon will post-process it on PC and post Hi-res on Patreon and soon after here.
I like drawing more detailed sketches, but it takes more time. And recently flat owner have rised rent price, not mention that food keep getting more expensive. So, I've rised a bit Sketch price:
Portrait for 45$ (55$ if lots of pattern details or with hands/paws for better expression).
Sketch half-full body for 60$, Sketch page for 100$, extra for details stay the same.

Still need to rise enough to deal with part of the debt and have enough for bills and food. So, I'm open for sketch commissions.
This commissions I will start not earlier than in a month, as always with exception for portraits.

Posted 5 months agoSorry for the lack of updates. This month was awful for me. As soon as I get a bit healthy, I've catch other illness. And my family members have lost two people in less than one month have pass. They didn't mean much to me, but I had to support my family members to who they was important. All of this with low progress in drawing doesn't help with my financial situation and mood at all.
Have tried to get back some mood with drawing, but not much of what I've done I want to show.
Some games and antidepressants looks like helping, at least got distracted a bit from what is going on. But it won't help to deal with my load.
Anyway I want to thank everyone for the patience and support. Thanks to all of you I don't want to give up and going to get out of this situation.
So, no more sketch commissions till I deal with half at least. It will get me further in debt, but I don't feel right to open more till I finish at least part of what I own. The only thing I can go for is something fast, like sketch portraits and only when I'll be in the mood to finish it in the same day. Stay tuned for announcements on my discord server.

First of all, I want to thank everyone for your patience! I haven't forgotten anyone and will get to your orders as soon as I am able. I wanted to give everyone another update on my living situation:
As some of you know, I live in Ukraine. Due to the ongoing war, our electrical infrastructure has been damaged and the grid has frequent shutdowns and outages. During the summer, I purchased some equipment that will allow me to work even when power goes out, but did so with a payment plan rather than paying it all up front. As soon as I started to catch up, I came down with Covid and fell behind on these payments, leading me to fall into debt.
I have been working as best I can to claw my way out of this debt, cover regular monthly expenses, as well as have a buffer to cover rent, bills and food for a few months ahead. As soon as I am back on track and have this buffer built up, I will be able to stop taking the sketch commissions and work on older, owed works. I'm getting there, but not there yet. The war and health issues have slowed me down a lot, but I am still making forward progress. Inch Towards Daylight, as they say, and I am doing so.
The good news is that these sketch commissions have allowed me to keep the rust from forming as well as given me additional time to improve as an artist. I'm opening for another Sketch slots (It likely will end up more detailed than it should be; I can't help myself XD). More details on prices can be found in the SKETCH PRICE LIST.
SFW or NSFW, open for any species, though I'd favor artistic freedom for pose. If you'd like one, PM me with your ref and some idea, if you've got one, and I'll let you know if it's something I'd want to work on or not.

Wanted to give you an updated on my current situation. More information can be found in these journals:

First of all, I want to thank everyone who supports me and helped me to collect enough funds for the first payment on a laptop. I've opted to pay for it via installments rather than paying outright, as this allows me to get back to drawing now rather than later. I'm really low on funds right now, but I can finally get to work on my backlog. Also, I'm really happy with the laptop itself! Thank you for your suggestions on what one to get; I ended up going with the Pixus Link.
Now we get back to the things that haven't changed: The power grid in Ukraine continues to be unreliable with constant blackouts. Also, it's summer. Temperatures in my area are hitting 43-48c (109-118f) on the sun during the day outside, and because I can't rely on power to let me run my air conditioner, I'm lucky if I can get my flat down to 28c (82f) at night. I'm doing my best to get through it, but drawing in this heat isn't easy.
As always, I need time to adjust and adapt to the situation and to work on my backlog. I also need money to get by. As I've said in prior journals, my current goal is around $800 USD to get me through July and August, including being able to purchase this new laptop. Thanks to your kindness, we've raised $300 of that goal.
I'll continue to provide updates to these journals as funds are raised to keep you informed about where I'm at and how much more is needed. Again, I can not express how much I appreciate your generosity in getting me through this. If it wasn't for the kindness of all of you, I don't know where I'd be.
Once more, I'm going to bring up that I'm willing to take on a few more detailed commissions, but only if you're willing to put up with a wait time of over 12 months. I don't like the idea of adding to the back log, but it's the best I can offer so far. The draw back of this is that every item added to that backlog makes that monster bigger. Makes it look insurmountable. It's a vicious cycle that I really want to avoid, but it is a necessary evil that I will learn to overcome. Thanks everyone for the advice on help with picking a device to replace my 13-year-old, now dead tablet. For those of you who missed in, you can find out more info about my situation here: https://www.furaffinity.net/journal/10901303/
In order for me to keep drawing during these power outages, I've decided that a new laptop that can be charged via USB-C and with a 14-15 inch display is my best course of action. Older, used laptops in my price range all likely need a new battery and after accounting for that, I'm back into the same price range as a reasonable new laptop.
To reiterate, the primary use will be viewing refs, watching videos, and then typical web browsing and chat based functions. If it can handle image editing, that's a bonus, but not something I'm looking at as required; I DO have the desktop for that when power is stabilized.
At present, I'm looking between these 4 models:
YEPO 737J8 Pro 8/512 Aluminum
Pixus Link Gray (4897058531800)
Lenovo IdeaPad 5 15ITL05
ASUS BR1402C Mineral Grey
All 4 of them are in the $300-400 USD range. Specs wise, the Pixus Link looks to be the best, but I am concerned about the brand as I've not heard of it before. It was pointed out to me that it may be a Ukrainian specific brand, but it could also be a re-branded / knock off of some no-name-brand.
As it stands, I'm still low on funds and need to cover monthly expenses. On top of the $400 USD I need for rent / bills / food, I need to come up with enough cash to allow me to purchase this laptop with an installment plan. All told, I'm looking at around $700-800 USD or so to get me through the next two months.
I still don't feel right offering more commission slots due to my backlog. If you're ok with a wait of over a year, I can offer a Detailed Commission or two to help meet this goal, but I still don't exactly like this idea because I don't want to add to the list of owed work that feels insurmountable with every item added to it. I need your help and advice!
Here is my situation:
As some of you know, I live in Ukraine. Due to the ongoing war, calling our power gird unstable is an understatement at the moment. For the last month, we have had constant shutdowns and rolling blackouts. The typical cycle is 2-3 hours with power, followed by 6-8 hours without it, with no real warning of when it will turn on or off. This makes my PC unusable for pretty much anything.
I used my old tablet to let me keep working without electricity, but its battery was dead and it worked mostly on powerbank. At this point the battery leak within the casing and has damaged the screen, rendering it dead-dead. I've tried switching to my mobile device as a work around, but due to it's tiny screen, it just isn't viable: I can't see references clearly, and it's uncomfortable to view references when I'm trying to draw. And it's own weakening battery isn't helping, but thankfully I can replace that.
And then we get to another issue that a lot of people can relate to: It's HOT out! Without stable power, I'm unable to do much with my AC, meaning it's typically between 24-28c / 75-82f at night in my appartment with no air flow. Even opening the windows doesn't help. I can't handle the heat very well, and that leads to poor sleep. It's even worse during the day; there's been at least one occasion where I've had heat exhaustion bad enough to leave me dizzy and throwing up. I've tried using evaporation cooling with rags and buckets of water, but that isn't doing much beyond making it more humid. Add to that, water does not do any kind things to drawing on paper, nor does dripping sweat. It's... Kinda hard to make any progress right now.

I need your help and advice!
Here is my situation:
As some of you know, I live in Ukraine. Due to the ongoing war, calling our power gird unstable is an understatement at the moment. For the last month, we have had constant shutdowns and rolling blackouts. The typical cycle is 2-3 hours with power, followed by 6-8 hours without it, with no real warning of when it will turn on or off. This makes my PC unusable for pretty much anything.
I used my old tablet to let me keep working without electricity, but its battery was dead and it worked mostly on powerbank. At this point the battery leak within the casing and has damaged the screen, rendering it dead-dead. I've tried switching to my mobile device as a work around, but due to it's tiny screen, it just isn't viable: I can't see references clearly, and it's uncomfortable to view references when I'm trying to draw. And it's own weakening battery isn't helping, but thankfully I can replace that.
And then we get to another issue that a lot of people can relate to: It's HOT out! Without stable power, I'm unable to do much with my AC, meaning it's typically between 24-28c / 75-82f at night in my appartment with no air flow. Even opening the windows doesn't help. I can't handle the heat very well, and that leads to poor sleep. It's even worse during the day; there's been at least one occasion where I've had heat exhaustion bad enough to leave me dizzy and throwing up. I've tried using evaporation cooling with rags and buckets of water, but that isn't doing much beyond making it more humid. Add to that, water does not do any kind things to drawing on paper, nor does dripping sweat. It's... Kinda hard to make any progress right now.

To start with: I'm still alive.
Because of the situation in my home of Ukraine, on going family issues that have forced me to move out of my home and into a solitary living situation, constant lack of funds, and poor health, I've been quite stressed since the end of 2023. Making it worse was an inflammation of the tendon of my thumb on my drawing hand, leading to pretty much any activity causing me physical pain that I simply could not work through. I've been isolating myself as well; I haven't been on social media for a while and generally only communicate with a couple of friends. This isolation and stress had in turn lead me into a state of pretty bad depression. I'd hit the point of wanting to sell all of my possessions to refund folks for owed work and quit with myself.
The good news is I have good friends who have done what they can to buy me time to heal, and doctors who have been able to get me access to antidepressants that have helped. I'm not totally out of the woods yet, but I'm able to work again. I'm slowly chipping away at my backlog and am even finding time and desire to draw things for myself to keep my muse healthy and my depression at bay.
The less good news is I've hit the point of running out of funds without taking on more work. I am not asking for a hand out. What I am asking for is to find a few folks who are interested in picking up a Detailed commission from me, knowing that it'll be a while before delivery. I need to finish off the last several sketches I owe, as well as my two most recent detailed works before I begin on this next batch. If all goes according to plan and nothing else catastrophic happens, I aim to start working on these in the later half of June. If something does come up, I will try and alternate between older work and this newest batch.
With that in mind: I'm opening between 2 and 4 slots. SFW or NSFW, detailed artwork with no backgrounds. I am expressly noting no backgrounds, as I do not want to offer more than I can confidently work on at this time.

Today is exactly two years since the start of a full-scale war in Ukraine. Two years since first time I saw columns of smoke from hits, and sound of explosions and air alarms.
What can I say, everyone is tired, it's hard for everyone and it got every ukrainian families one way or another. For me, it's lots of health problems due to stress with which I suffering till this days, family problems that forced me to move and live alone. But thanks to all of you I'm keep going.
I just hope that this does not become the norm for my life.

Some update of my situation:
I’m really happy that have moved. Just to be able to rest and have less stress is enough to feel better and I start to enjoy drawing again and not drawing just because I have too! I’m really grateful everyone for helping me to move into a new apartment.
Unfortunately my sis lost her job, again, and my mom got ill, at least not seriously. So I had to help them and thanks to this move I can draw to get some funds and not to just ask for it!
I’ve already got 20+ art that I still haven’t post here. However, I will upload some of them soon.

About commissions:
I've decide to try auction format for Sketch commissions. My goal behind trying this out are a few fold: Firstly, I'm trying to get a bit of extra time to work on my current backlog of owed work by selling fewer sketch pages this month. If I can get all of them sold at the auto-buy price, I'll end up with several extra days to work on owed work. If I don't? Well, just means I'll need to fill out a few more normal sketch pages. Secondly, a little bit of extra holiday spending money would be nice.
To this end, I'll be auctioning off the first 5 sketch pages this month. This is pretty much expressly for those who want to go above and beyond my normal prices to help out. Prices afterwards will be staying the same as normal.
SB is a price of the NSFW single character sketch with details. Basically it’s a B/W sketch commissions. If you want color variant of this commission – it will cost 20$ for single character sketch, or for 1 pose one the sketch page; 30$ for full sketch page. I'll start it in a few days after the end of the auction and Christmas themed ideas are preferred to be done early.
AB will go with coloring without extra.

Again, I want to thank everyone for helping me get together the required funds for me to move into a new apartment. Moving has really done the trick for me, and I've already finished my current backlog of sketch commissions.

With the good news to start with, I do need to bring up a bit of reality for myself: I still have bills I need to pay. Rent, utilities, other bills, and we can't forget the cost of food on top of all that. All told, I'll need to bring in around $400-500 USD a month to cover my expenses. The good news for me is this is achievable, and the good news for you is it means I'll be opening for sketch commissions. The bad news is detailed works that are still in my back log are still in my back log and will take more time, but they are NOT forgotten.
My current plan is to open for 5 sketch slots at a time, hammer them out, then do more to ensure I can cover my bills. Once these are completed, I'll work on getting owed detailed work done, and will be repeating this cycle hopefully monthly until my queue is fully cleared. As it stands, I am a full time artist. This is my livelihood, and it is you that make it possible. For that, I am thankful.

I’ve finally have moved to the new apartment! \o/
I’m really grateful to everyone for helping me get enough funds to make this possible. With just the last few nights here, I'm feeling much more rested than I have in the last several years. Unfortunately, moving was more expensive than I expected. I've been left with less than 1.5 months out of the planned 3 months I was saving up for.
Though I'm sleeping better, I still need a bit more time to get my mental health stabilized. Afterwards, I'll finish the current queue of sketch commissions before getting back to my detailed commission queue. Once those queues are cleaned up a bit, I'll open for new slots, baring emergencies making me open them sooner. Again, I'm really hoping to finish at least some of my old commissions before taking new ones, as I need to get out from this pile of owed work, both as being respectful to current clients who've been amazingly patient with all of this, as well as to ensure my own mental well being.
Once the queues are cleaned up a bit and not as long, I'll open more slots to ensure I've got enough for living expenses as I work through the rest of my backlog of owed work. I don't have an exact date or time table for this, but it'll be “Soon™”.

I need to restart my life at a new place and I need help.
As some of you might know I am currently living in Ukraine with my grandma and mom. Six year ago my grandmother got a cerebral stroke, after which she became totally different person and needed care. To help my mother, I stayed to provide both caregiving and financial aid, but dealing with someone who only gives negativity and takes more and more of your time and nerves is hard.
And so the stress began to accumulate. At first it wasn’t so bad, but year after year my own health has deteriorated. It began to affect my drawing, and art that I was finish in 1 day started to take 2-3 days. Stress due to my family situation added to fears of the resulting delays in commissions led to 2 surgeries for me in the last 2 years. I’m really grateful that you all supported me during those times and will definitely do my best to fulfill ideas that were entrusted to me.
Then the war started in the 2022, adding oil in the flame. My mother started to have problems with work, leaving me the sole provider for bill, food and other necessities. As of 2 months ago my sister, who had lived separately from us for 14 years and has two kids, one with special needs, sought shelter. I don’t have good relationships with her but as she was without a place to go we took her in. As a result my budget started to fall apart. This, in turn, has wrecked my already struggling budget, as I'm left trying to afford the bills for six people, in a home meant for far less, until my sister was able to find job.
Finally she got a job money, and then it turned out so I suddenly find myself no longer needed and the target of family drama and harassment, on top of being in a crowded, noisy, toxic household. Unfortunately, this is leading to enough stress and household drama that I am unable to sleep. Lack of sleep is leading to my inability to draw. My inability to draw means I can't earn an income. The lack of income leads to stress that prevents me from sleeping, so on. The downward spiral continues and it's not good, to say the least.
My mental state is quite unstable and I am afraid that this current situation could lead to irreversible consequences. It seems like the best way to deal with current situation is to leave this place that I can’t call home anymore.
So, I need to rent a studio apartment to move out and get my life back in line. I need $500-600 USD a month; this would cover all of my bills, rent, food and other necessary spending, plus give me a small buffer. This is something I can accomplish once I get settled.
For me, to be able to move out on my own though, I'm gonna need a chunk of cash up front. My goal is $1,500-1,800 USD. This gives me enough to move out, get a place, and have at least 3 months worth of bills covered. I hate to have to ask for it with nothing really to offer in return, but I'm going to get back to work on drawing and design. This is the point of this life change. So I can only offer detailed commission slots in advance and try to reach my goal with as fast and with as few orders as it possible. You can change the idea or character or even exchange for several smaller commissions, but unfortunately there will be some time delay while I make this transition. I don’t have good relationships with her but as she was without a place to go we took her in. As a result my budget started to fall apart. This, in turn, has wrecked my already struggling budget, as I'm left trying to afford the bills for six people, in a home meant for far less, until my sister was able to find job.
Finally she got a job money, and then it turned out so I suddenly find myself no longer needed and the target of family drama and harassment, on top of being in a crowded, noisy, toxic household. Unfortunately, this is leading to enough stress and household drama that I am unable to sleep. Lack of sleep is leading to my inability to draw. My inability to draw means I can't earn an income. The lack of income leads to stress that prevents me from sleeping, so on. The downward spiral continues and it's not good, to say the least.
My mental state is quite unstable and I am afraid that this current situation could lead to irreversible consequences. It seems like the best way to deal with current situation is to leave this place that I can’t call home anymore.
So, I need to rent a studio apartment to move out and get my life back in line. I need $500-600 USD a month; this would cover all of my bills, rent, food and other necessary spending, plus give me a small buffer. This is something I can accomplish once I get settled.
For me, to be able to move out on my own though, I'm gonna need a chunk of cash up front. My goal is $1,500-1,800 USD. This gives me enough to move out, get a place, and have at least 3 months worth of bills covered. I hate to have to ask for it with nothing really to offer in return, but I'm going to get back to work on drawing and design. This is the point of this life change. So I can only offer detailed commission slots in advance and try to reach my goal with as fast and with as few orders as it possible. You can change the idea or character or even exchange for several smaller commissions, but unfortunately there will be some time delay while I make this transition. Sorry for the silence. I haven't been in the mood for anything due to everything going on in my country, compounded by family problems. Just because there's a war going on doesn't mean family life doesn't stop.
Russian rockets and drones are still attacking Kyiv. Every day, we still have screaming rocket alarms, and every few days we end up with actual impacts from these weapons in my town. I'm still fine; it isn't like the other settlements near the zones of military clashes, though just as much as family drama persists through time of war, so does my need to pay my bills and rent, once again pushing me into debt.
Due to the stress of everything, I can't force myself to draw complex, highly detailed images like I want to, but debts and bills still need to be paid. To keep myself from getting rusty and to keep some income flowing, I have been able to offer up sketch pages. As soon as I feel more confident with debt and bills and things settle for me, I look forward to having the concentration to return to old, owed work, as well as to open for new slots in the queue.
As for those sketch pages? I've been doing them for a little while now. You can see some photos on my discord server (https://discord.gg/vKnG9kq8K), or scanned and cleaned up versions in early access on my Patreon for $2 a month (https://www.patreon.com/FelanGrey). Most of the time, I announce these being opened on my discord server, but I'm casting a wider net today by announcing things here on FA.

Patreon payout problem

For now I've got payout problem with Patreon. I have chat with Patreon and Payoneer support for half of this month and still haven't fix it. Due to it I'm currently low on funds and all this money questions are really get me stressed and just can't find any mood to draw. I'm really tired to get slapback every time I starting to think that things are getting better...
Sorry again I'll try to get back to drawing as soon as possible.
