Comics From Thoughts and Images
Posted 8 months agoI'm wondering if anyone knows what titles were carried by Thoughts and Images, which was the imprint that Albedo by stevegallacci originally was published under.
So far I know the following:
Albedo
Command Review
Xanadu
Zell Sword Dancer
Desert Peach.
If anyone knows of other titles, comment below, I'm trying to get a complete Thoughts and Images library.

Two-Tone Paints?
Posted 7 years agoAnyone know if two-tone paints can be found? Nail Polish perhaps?
I'm looking for paint for Feldon's eyes which are two-tone, switching between green and brown.
Any ideas?

PEI Fabric Shops
Posted 7 years agoGoing to be hunting for materials tomorrow, I want to make a fursuit head of Feldon. Either that or I'll have to start researching who out there can make a rodent head for me to wear. We'll see.
Fuck.

Your Beginning and Ending Theme
Posted 8 years agoYour life is a television show or a movie, what is your opening theme and what plays during your end credits?
Mine are two David Bowie songs.
Opening theme: A New Career in a New Town (I can imagine Feldon shaking his tush to this as opening credits roll)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JhZqsYkl1zI
End theme: Bring Me the Disco King (its sort of somber which suits an ending credits)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h3PHnLR_LWk
So tell me, what plays during your credits?

Working Evenings
Posted 8 years agoOh the joys of working evenings and gaining back my weekends for even a short time! Full moon to-boot, get to do some ceremonies, burnt offerings, requests, that sort of thing. Only wish this could go until pride week, but I don't think it will. We will have to see what I get to do on THAT particular Saturday.
Let us all hope that wishes come true darlings!
Oh and I joined that Ferzu thing under Feldon's golden dawn moniker of Quietvoice.

What an Odd Day
Posted 8 years agoEveryone seems to be pleasant today, people are actually saying Hi and How are you doing? Did everyone get the much needed rest that we all deserve? Was the booze flowing so freely that everyone just feels good today? So strange. Maybe people actually find me sexy today LOL.
Brother tells me that it is such a slow news day in Toronto that City TV ran a piece on Anthrocon to fill time during the news. Funny, they didn't run any news piece on Furnal Equinox--you know an ACTUAL Toronto event.
Finally there is this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tJzL_sdSbEI

Let's Reminisce Over Secret of NIMH
Posted 8 years agoFirst off, is Sullivan's name ever used in the movie? I'm always trying to find at least one mention. His name is in the credits, but I don't recall ever hearing his name said and yet I knew his name as a kid. This is one of those strange mysteries that always gets me thinking. It is said quite frequently through the storybook adaptation, but I didn't own a copy of that until my mid-20s.
Second, I think Justin was my first crush. It's that first scene when they give his eyes that glassy romantic look, also a great voice to go with the character. Just an amazing character all around.
Third, I've always loved Timothy, more so from the book where he has a bit more going on than in the movie. We needed to see more Timothy than what we got (and I refuse to acknowledge the sequel!). Speaking of... I have the clamshell to the VHS version of that but not the actual tape. I like to think that I swapped the tape at one point with a porno movie and that somewhere out there someone went to watch a porn and found Timmy To The Rescue!
"It must be a cave in!" I always assume that Arthur is the one saying this.
Was watching this film last night as I worked on the next script to Feldon's story, which is coming along slowly more due to how short this chapter turned out even though it is quite important. Let me know your thoughts and memories of this wonderful movie.

Rocket Issue 2
Posted 8 years agoReally love this title. First off the writer knows something about the Technet characters and snuck in a cameo by the Forth Doctor revealing the plot to this issue. Wish the Technet did a little more than they did, but at least each one got a bit of an introduction for the people that didn't know. Except Bodybag. He seemed to have been forgotten in this one.
Then a trial happens and we get a bunch of jokes about Dare Devil. It had me grinning through this section.
Also appreciated the inclusion of some of Rocket's past, which Bendis had tried to suppress. Rocket doesn't like to think of his former life on Half World but at least he remembers.
Glad this book exists. Will be sad when it's gone.

The New ROCKET Comic
Posted 8 years ago"This was a misstep." -Comic shop owner.
I call it a step in the right direction. With Bendis out of the way the first thing that the writers of the new Rocket series reversed was that whole psychopath persona and made my favorite raccoon a non-murderer, pointing out this change at least three times in the book. They gave him back his past, though he doesn't like to think about it and they've made him the strategist that he's supposed to be. He plans a heist with Technet and it was nice to see some kind of plan in place for his adventure. In Guardians Rocket didn't have any point.
Honestly I don't even understand what the last Guardian's was even about. Part of that seems to lay in the fact that all the resolutions to their books happened in other books I wasn't reading, so the story line in the last series run made little sense and seemed to meander aimlessly.
But people won't like this book. I loved it and I'll be the only one to buy it and it will be cancelled after the fifth issue. That is fine, in a way that is how it should be.
Welcome back Rocket Raccoon, I've missed you these past 5 years.

All About Rocket Raccoon
Posted 8 years agoGuardians of the Galaxy vol 2 is in theaters today, I'm thinking of seeing it on Tuesday afternoon in Charlottetown, if they have one. Still can't believe I live in an age where Rocket Raccoon is actually on the big screen. What next? Usagi Yojimbo?
Brian Michael Bendis is no longer writing Guardians of the Galaxy, thank god. I dislike his writing and I really hated what he did to Rocket. When the first words out of my favourite characters mouth is "Blam! Murdered You!" there is going to be problems. It was such a bad line that it has become a running joke over the last couple of years. BMB's guardians really didn't do anything that interesting--team building, family crap. Though I did like that The Thing was on the team, though he really hasn't done much.
With the end of Bendis' run we get three new Guardian's titles, which I didn't pick up because it's getting to be too much. This is what I hate about Marvel, over saturation of popular titles and characters. I never thought I'd see the day where Rocket was in every book the same way that Wolverine was.
Once again, Rocket gets a new mini series and looks to be teaming up with the Technet. I look forward to this.
