Starting to feel a little better <at forcing myself to>, so I'm happy to say I'll be starting work on short story this weekend. Thank you for your patience!

Hi everyone.

After combing over the submissions for the upcoming short story I finally settled on a winner. Well...Several winners. Everyone had such amazing characters that it would have been impossible to narrow it down to just one choice so I changed the formula up and chose FOUR of you lovely people. Even narrowing it down to the four finalists was nearly impossible. I saw so many possibilities with so many characters that I literally had to force myself to move on and pick.

Please, don't be discouraged if you didn't make the cut. This is just the first of many stories to come and I really hope you guys stay tuned in to see what I have in store for the future. There will definitely be a next time!



Now on to the winners!




I had a main bad guy all thought up and ready to roll, but when glancing through all the submissions, there were two characters that I felt would be a better fit than my own creations.



Big congratulations to 's character Lily who will be the right hand of our group of villains, essentially acting as an enforcer and a second in command.



Also congrats to 's character Malcolm who will be playing the main antagonist, a ruthless and cold blooded leader of the band of baddies he calls "The Angels".



Enough about those bad guys, how about we cheer for the good guys now?

Congrats to 's baby Cyrr for sealing the deal as the leader of the settlement our main cast calls home. She does everything she can to keep her small town away from the chaos and violence of the Deadlands outside the walls, even if it means making deals with some less than reputable characters...




And now for the biggest congrats of all!
For our main protagonist I decided to go with 's character Missy. (And trust me it wasn't an easy decision with so many amazing offerings from you guys.) I won't give much away here about the role she will be playing, we'll save all that for the story itself.

So, that's it. Again, it was far from an easy decision to even narrow it down to these four. I really look forward to writing this story out, and thank all four of you especially for giving me the shot to create a world with your characters!

Now that bad part.

Very early this morning Kammy and I lost a puppy. She was a very dear part of our family and it has put us both in kind of a rut. Although I have my cast and the setting ready, I'm not feeling the vibe to create just yet so I'll be starting a little later than I planned. Anyone who has ever lost a pet knows that it's a hard pill to swallow, and I'm not sure it's set in just yet for me. I don't really want to elaborate on the details at the moment, but ask that you guys please be patient with me and while we process this loss.

Hi there people.

I'm looking for someone be the protagonist in a short story I had an idea for. Without giving much away it will feature a post apocalyptic setting and have a more serious tone.

Requirements:
Be ok with your Sona being part of a darker and serious storyline.
Be ok with a post apocalyptic setting.
Be ok with the fact that this is a story I'm writing on my own time and that it is a free service.
Accept that it will be non cannon as far as your actual backstory <I can add as much as possible as long as it makes sense with my concept>
Absolutely must be ok with your sona being seen a parental/guardian figure to a younger character that will be in the story.

I have no gender or sexual preference restrictions <no smut in one anyways> for this story.

Sorry it's taken so long. Life has been pretty hectic lately, so I haven't really had time to write, but I thought I might as well post a small teaser of the origin for Fenix. So here it is :D

"Well...Fenix. You know I'm not one for the cliché, but, if you're watching this then I'm afraid I'm no longer here with you. I..."

The usually stern and soft tone of Dr. Layons cracked briefly. Fenix had never heard the doctors voice waiver before. No matter what had ever happened or what kind of trouble the young anthropomorphic hybrid had gotten into, his caretaker had always spoken in the same tone. He had also never seen the man with even the slighest ounce of sadness on his face. There had always been a warm smile to greet Fenix. However, on this small bluelit protection image, the hologram of Dr. Layons seemed to be an entirely different person. His posture was slouched, and he seemed nearly on the verge of tears. Fenix whimpered slightly, wiping a tear from the fur under his eye.

"I have been, for quite some time, defying the orders of some very influential and powerful men and I fear the day when they discover what I've done will be my last day with you. I can only hope that I made you feel like we were family, because you were family to me. I can only hope that what I've taught you will suffice. There are hard times in your future, and you may not get many chances to reflect on the time we spent together, but in those rare moments where you take a breath I pray that you can safely say you felt like you had a father. I wish there was more I could have done. I wish there was more I could have said. It won't be long before they come for you. They will want to use you, to take away the humanity you've fought so hard to embrace. Please, do not try and fight them, Fenix. Just run...always run. You are special in so many ways and there are many who would exploit that. Please...survive. experience the world. Experience several worlds. Experience love and pain. Experience all the things that remind you that you are not just a weapon. Fenix...my son....I...remember that even though I may be gone; I love you."

Fenix sniffled quietly, pressing rewind and play on the recording again. Maybe if he kept playing it over, the doctor would come back. A stream of tears trickled down his face, running over the red markings below his eyes. His fist was clenched to the point where his claws had pierced the inside of his palm. Lines of warm crimson fluid from the wounds were chasing each other down the fur of Fenix's arm.

A short moment later, his ears would perk up at the sound of something making a jingling sound from the front of the six hundred square feet room he had called a home for seventeen years. Fenix choked back the tears he felt and positioned himself behind the door so whoever opened it wouldn't be able to see him. He slowed his breathing and concentrated his sense of hearing. He heard a group of muffled voices from behind the steel door.

"He wants this mutt alive, so no kill shots. Gomez, that goes for you, prick. You shoot another one and the boss is gonna have your balls on a plate. Specifically said that this one better not die or it's all of our asses, and I'll be damned if I'm gettin tossed in a box for your fat ass. All the info we dug out of the doc's brain says the kid is a pussbag. Non violent, and basically half a retard. Should be easy. Grab the mutt. Get out. Got it?"

Fenix counted three 'yeah' replies in response to the first mans voice. He began to breath more heavilly..what did they mean by dug from the docs brain? Did they hurt Dr. Layons? His head was swirling with so many questions, but he didn't have time to think them through before the door cracked open.........

I want to take a moment and thank everyone for the birthday wishes. It helped make that an even better day than the beautiful already made it.

Also: I'm still working on the story idea, just ran into some speed bumps in RL that halted progress. Stay tuned for updates on that!

Due to the positive reaction, I'm going to work on the first chapter of my story for Fenix this weekend. I'll be posting it up soon, so keep an eye out for a sample of my writing. I really appreciate everyone's feedback and helpful tips! I'm very excited to start this out and see where it goes.

Hello there, Furry-ville!

Recently I find myself wanting to relive one of my childhood dreams of writing. I like drawing, but writing has always been my favorite creative outlet. I just haven't ever had a platform to consistently write through, until I randomly had an idea today while jotting down some notes at work.

I want to start writing short stories about furries, and potentially work towards writing stories about others Fursonas on a commission basis. I would like some feedback from you guys as to whether you think this could possibly work or not. At this point, it's simply trying to hash out an idea. I'm intending on writing a cannon story about my Fursona, Fenix, and his origins all the way up to meeting regardless, but would like to write side stories to challenge my creativity.

Sooo! What do you guys think? Is this an idea that might be appealing to anybody?
