SHIT.
what is it with this random ass influx of popular artists whom seem to think they're the toughest shit around? NONE of them seem to realize that they are in fact human, and as such, are in fact prone to fuck up. LITERALLY no one is perfect, and imperfections are a major part of the design process!! NO ONE is at the top of their capabilities as an artist, everyone can improve somehow. which is where constructive critique comes in.
EVERYONE as an artist needs to appreciate constructive Criticism, I can understand not really wanting it public or on a commission because it can damage your professionalism, however on some random bullshit? if there is metric fuckton of people, furry's no less telling you that the balls are fucking disproportionate to the rest of the fucking body, then I think they might be on to something! has anyone ever considered these are in fact furrys on a fucking porn site, who most of which come here to stare at various artistic representations of balls DAILY?
but no, throw a mad fit the moment ANYONE tells you that you're wrong, the second you get a SINGLE negative review on your work get your undies in a bunch and post up a journal telling everyone what a fuck less you could give, and insisting there's something WRONG with everyone who seems to think YOU could improve. why can NO ONE actually realize that when people tell them they could improve and how it means they're actually vested in their work and want to see it improve?! that's a SERIOUSLY loyal fan right there!
I'm not going to mention who in particular this was about, but I must admit they were not only rude, and callous about it, but they also even put up a bullshit flowchart that told just how little anyone's opinions of their work mattered.
on this note, I would actually like to extend appreciation toward
Tojo-the-thief whom has received all sorts of criticism from my colleague 
risefromtheashes and I and has yet, to this day, blocked, removed, or even so much as bitched at us. while true it tends to irritate her to some degree at times, I severely appreciate what a good sport she is about it, and therefore feel a need to direct anyone reading this in her direction. if you don't watch that amazing artist, go and do so now.

General | Posted 13 years agoyeah... so, as it turns out, mold keys are a bitch to make. and based on the price of silicone having gone up to $40 I'm going to be bringing up my prices by a little bit. STILL way cheaper than bad dragon, those of you who already bought toys will not have to pay any extra. but from now on the new prices will apply.

Cybdragon Synthetics is going to start working on stock mold designs! that way you can simply browse an actual collection of ready made merchandise to purchase.
seeing as this is less creative, and alot less work on our part, the pricing of said stock toys will be cheaper than commissions. keep an eye out for these designs.

I was forced to format it due to a driver error that fucked up my startup files. in turn, my operating system became corrupt, and even directory services and safemode became inoperable. by the end of it, I got very very VERY tired of seeing the BSOD and just formatted the damn thing, losing not only all of my data, games and programs, but also all of my art along with every program I have to DO art with.

I appear to be cutting bills a bit close this month and am in need of some spare cash.

a note to those whom may be curious
General | Posted 13 years agothe pause in my art is an actual defined thing. it was caused by Photoshop corrupting/eating half of my work on 3-4 images. (I usually work/dabble in that many pictures at once to keep my interest... two of these were commissions.) that is how I would put out art as often as I would, and was how I streamed as often as I did. as is, I'm sort of cheating and tracing old screenshots from these images to save some time with a tool, but it's still taking a long time to repair due to my colossal lack of interest following the loss of all my work.
(I tried to recover one of them, and discovered that all that was left was a rather large bright red image, with stippled lines across the top) so... the old ones are clearly toast.
anyways! I will see if I can get back into the groove of things asap! comments and encouragement always help! I appreciate all of you far more than you may realize, and it may just be enough to get me started back up again as an artistic engine! <3

anyways, we didn't even have enough plaster so we decided to go with a latex only mold instead, and it's... well it's perfect honestly. we will be finishing the current design later today and then starting on other commissions as well. I think we have a finalized version of this setup, and will be able to replicate the process with other orders now

General | Posted 13 years agoI just realized the significance of the first comment on a rather popular artists work, especially for other aspiring artists.
I recall looking over various works and clicking on the first commenters gallery just to see who they were, and... well it's sort of like self advertising, feeding your own fan base through the use of other popular artists work. this is both interesting, and a revelation for me personally.

[Home for the summer] update
General | Posted 13 years agoto make up for my lack of posting of my half baked comic "Home for the summer" I will be starting back up work on it, in full color, and with a new level of detail and an entirely different style. I hope this change is welcomed and looked upon as better quality than the original.
as a fun side note, the comic actually does have a plot, so don't just expect there to be cheesy innuendos and random sex. as difficult as it is, I will build up to the good part like a real story should. have fun with all the cocktease to come.

Both risefromtheashes and I are working together on Sketch commissions to help pay for the house! a certain bird totally got like... politely mugged by one of his parental units, and we're down by a couple hundred. so to help pay for the rent so we can move in as per the date on the lease we are doing really cheap commissions in stream! we will draw ANYTHING asked in the order it is commissioned.
even if you can't help, at least show your support by joining in and throwing kind, or occasionally hilarious, words at us while we work!
