Well hello again!!!!

Phew, it sure has been a long time since our last journal. This account has been super quiet ever since FurAffinity's security breach over a year ago, but after a long hiatus we think it is finally safe enough to return, and high-time we breathed some life back into this group! We would like to start out by giving you guys some options to connect with other feral fans out there! We have a very modest list of a few active chat rooms you can check out, but if you have any other suggestions we would be glad to add it to this journal. Go ahead and let us know if you have a specific chat in mind and we will consider it (they do not have to be just Telegram or Discord chats, but we would prefer that they be active and have at least 20 members).

There is a lot of hype over Rowlett, but there are a lot of people who like Litten too. Poor Popplio seems to get the short end of the stick!

But we are very excited to see what they look like fully evolved. Speaking of poke evolution, if a feral looking Pokemon such as Fennekin evolves into a more humanoid Pokemon later on, such as Delphox, is it still a "feral"? Are all Pokemon considered ferals because they are animalian, or are some less so than others? Let us know what you think!

Hello, everyone! We hope you're enjoying your October so far. Thanks to everyone who donated to the Them's Fightin' Herds game. If you hadn't "herd" yet, they were able to fully fund their project and the game can be expected to be completed sometime next year!

Now on to today's subject: there are a lot of feral artists out there (and who can blame them, drawing ferals is awesome), but the curiosity bug has infected us and we were wondering which feral artists were your MOST favorite? A "feral artist" is generally considered to be someone who draws 50% to mostly ferals, but they don't have to draw ferals 100% of the time. Our favorites are too numerous to name, and we appreciate all feral art, but what about you? Let us know in the comments below, and who knows, someone else's comment might teach you about an artist you've never heard before!

And, as always, if anyone has any artwork they would like for us to showcase in our gallery, just let us know. Halloween is coming up, so get your spoookiest howls and growls ready!

What do a llama, a sheep, a dark unicorn, a cow, a reindeer, and a longma all have in common? They are all going to be playable characters in the new (and maybe first ever?) feral fighting game called Them's Fightin' Herds! If you haven't already heard of this amazing game, created by Lauren Faust herself and the incredible Mane 6 developing team, then you need to get educated ASAP!:

The game is currently crowdfunding now, and at nearly 80% of their goal already met, it is so close to becoming a reality! But there is only 1 week left, time is running out!

Some of you may have heard of the Mane 6 developing team when they were working on a similar game called Fighting Is Magic, which was a My Little Pony inspired 2D fighting game. Unfortunately, due to a Cease and Desist letter from Hasbro, that game had to be cancelled immediately. But the Mane 6 was undeterred, and they came back with a vengeance, generating the interest of Lauren Faust and employing her talents to create an entirely new world full of its own lore, background, and characters (which all happen to be feral hoofers of various species).

Lordy knows that there practically trillions of feral characters from animated films and other media around the world! From Australia to Korea to the United States, games and movies repeatedly use feral characters as a means of entertainment or plot device. Some of the most widely recognized and popularly successful seem to be Balto, Simba, Kiba, and of course all of the My Little Pony characters, but there are so many others out there that exist!

Some of our top picks include Moro from Princess Mononoke, Blue from Wolf's Rain, Jake from Rango, Shere Khan from The Jungle Book, Rain from Spirit, Zinogre from Monster Hunter, and Lion from Steven Universe. We think these guys rock!

Again, we want to thank everyone who's voted for their participation these past few days. And now comes the fun part…

We have settled on a male/female duo for our two mascots: a male feline and a female cervine. But that's not quite where this thing ends. What we'd like from all of you now are design ideas for the two of these mascots. Being as that the families of Felidae and Cervidae are quite large, we welcome you to choose any species within these two families as the animals that you draw for your design ideas. For example, as your feline choice you could draw a lion, and for your cervine choice you could draw a reindeer. Or you could choose a jaguar and an elk! Or a house cat and a muntjac! The choice is totally up to you.

Contest Rules:
1) You must draw 2 characters (one feline and cervine). These characters will be a duo. We will not be voting on single characters, only duos!
2) Multiple designs can be submitted, but limit one prize per artist (you cannot win all 3).
3) Cervines and felines only. Even things that look cat-like, such as fossas, or that look deer-like, such as springbok, will not be eligible. If you are unsure, Wikipedia that critter or ask us for help.
4) When you have finished your piece, send a private note to us with the link of your completed entry(s) and the names of the species that you have chosen. These entries will be compiled into a list once the contest is closed, and we will have the public vote to decide the winner.
5) Remember that these characters are FERAL, not anthro. Anthro characters will not be accepted. 4-leggers only! Four legs good, two legs bad!
6) Entries must be of new art of new characters made specifically for the contest. (Please don't send in old pics of your fursona.)

Thank you everyone for your participation this week with the initial mascot vote! The votes of yesterday's poll are all in. This was an exceptionally close competition, with many choices nearly tying in terms of popularity. But now the choices have been tallied up, and the two animal types that won are:

Hello fellow beast. This may come as a bit of a surprise but I'd like to announce that the group has a new admin. I'd like for all of you to welcome  shadowwolf! "Why her?!" you might ask. Well, she volunteered for one. She's been helping motivate me to actually do more stuff here. She also has varied taste from my own in terms of species and content. So, expect more variety in the future! Actually, just expect more content in general!

Just got announced today! Game is in full 3D. Starters include a fennec fox for fire, frog for water, and chipmunk? for grass.

I just wanted to say that this has been a great year for feral art. More and more I'm seeing furs out their either drawing feral-bodied versions of themselves or becoming that full time. There has been an abundance of amazing art, especially this past month. Nice work, everyone~

Going forward, I think I decided what I may do with this account as far being active goes. Its nothing amazing but it should at least be entertaining and draw out some discussion.

If anyone has suggestions for what they'd like to see outside of simply posting other peoples art just for the sake of posting it, I'm all ears.
