No pages this week, gonna just relax and work on fun mini-projects instead, maybe some game time, etc. Should hopefully be recovered for next week, it's just been a rough work week. In the meantime, I hope you've all enjoyed having twice the content, it's been pretty heavy to keep up with, but we've been plowing through the pages a lot faster as a result, and I think we're gonna be able to keep that up for a good while forward.

Out of curiosity, and I'm not saying this is gonna be a thing any time soon, but.. What would y'all be interested in as rewards if I did set up a Patreon? What would make YOU (yes you, I'm pointing at you) jump on that wagon? And yes, I know not everyone are able to do that, but let's completely ignore the monetary concerns and purely base this hypothesis on content..

So our local hospital has a print and design department that they've been running for a long time, and the guy who's been running the department for 40 years just retired. My old boss called this morning to inform me of this, because it's basically exactly the same type of work I used to do for them. Now, two things make this interesting..

For one, the guys at my old job have very good contact with the people who decide who gets hired for this job, and I come highly recommended from their end..
For two, one of my old co-workers from my CURRENT job works as webmaster at the hospital, and can ALSO recommend me.

Basically, I'm almost guaranteed to get the job. So yeah.. Might be changing jobs to run my own one-woman show there.

So I won't be making a page, but I'll do my utmost to get two done next week.

Here's hoping they all make it in one piece :) If they haven't arrived within 2 weeks, I ask that y'all get in touch and let me know.

Throat's too froggy today for it. 4 hours of sleep, lots of singing the last few days and way more talking than is entirely normal for me to do. Gonna be finishing up the AoD poster on stream at 8 CET (2:15 from now)

For a while, it almost looked like we had a shot, but our rating got tanked towards the end and went from 7.8 to 6.1 in the last day or so. Our popularity rating went upwards pretty well though, just not enough to offset things.

Thank you to everyone who helped by rating or interacting with it, maybe next time :) Now I just gotta figure out what to do with the bunnies.

Thank you to everyone who got involved in the poster YCH auction. Activity wasn't high, but that's perfectly understandable. All slots have been sold, and I'll contact the buyers within the next few days, probably tomorrow.

Production on the poster should get started halfway through next week, and hopefully be done before the weekend.

Man, what a day. Packed my entire life into boxes yesterday evening, two guys showed up and tetrised everything into a van, drove it a few kilometers, then untetrised it into my new place, all in the span of 2.5 hours. And now that that's done, maybe I can focus on my work again..

My brain's doing that no-workey thing, and I need to take a moment to do other stuff that isn't the comic, just relax and have some fun, moving this weekend and all that. I'll try to get some of the bonus material done in the meantime.

I'm sick of fucking around with my website trying to make things work half-assed. And so it's time to find myself someone who knows their shit and can make a Wordpress-based site run smoothly and have all the functions I need it to have.

The site: https://www.feretta.net running Wordpress.com-based CMS on a Comicpress theme.

Things I'm looking to implement:
A proper login system for users that doesn't require back-end access.
User submission fanart gallery (with control functions, obviously) that can handle both images and text based entries.
Secondary gallery for comic-related art by myself. Submissions obviously only available to me.

Price range:
Obviously as little as possible, but I'm perfectly capable of paying proper wage for the work. I dunno how much it should cost in general, $100? It's primarily setup work, the design aspect I'll be handling myself, and I don't think it's that much work either, for someone who knows what they're doing. Anyway, can be discussed.

If interested and capable, note me and show me what'cha got. Please keep in mind that I'm a very demanding and particular client. I know what I want, I just don't know how to do it properly myself.

Edit: As a note, keep in mind that I have years of experience in Wordpress myself, the stopping point for me is due to heavy PHP/CSS combining that I just can't get into figuring out on my own. A reasonable understanding of PHP/CSS is preferred.

I'm browsing around for a $5-6000 camera with 60 FPS minimum and possibly 4K (but that restricts the options a lot), as well as a good rigging setup and a good lapel set with a minimum capacity of 4 signals at once. If anyone has any experience in this field of professional one-man TV production, and are open for a bit of a chat on the subject, let me know.

Comic is currently on a relaxed schedule of sporadic updates while I take a break after putting out a page per week for two full years. Thank you to everyone for your continued readership and support, and I hope you'll stick around until I get things back on track for myself.

So while I'm waiting for these FUCKING updates to finish and my computer to reboot so I can get my Wacom drivers working again and, in turn, finish the fucking comic page I've been working on for a week, I figured I'd take the time to write something for the occasion..

WE HAVE BEEN DOING THIS FOR TWO! FUCKING! YEARS!

The comic officially began on april 7th 2013. That's two whole years! AND we're almost at a hundred pages, too, so we've kept up with NEARLY a page a week for those two years, with only a few exceptions.

Now, while I am super happy about this, I also feel incredibly exhausted right now, and I've decided I need to take a step back and put the comic down for a little bit. Not exactly a hiatus, but I need to move it over to a more casual schedule for a while, in order to reduce the pressure I'm placing myself under. My mood suffers, my art suffers and it only leads to frustration if I push myself harder than I'm capable of performing.

I know having a lax schedule isn't very good for the viewers, and I wish I could power through this slump I'm in and force my way out the other side, but as I worked on this latest page, I found myself incapable of drawing Fen's face properly, and the characters look different from panel to panel because my brain couldn't get a handle on what I was trying to do. The backgrounds, however, were no issue, so it's not really a matter of losing the skill or anything, it's just a desperate need to stop pressuring myself for a while.

Not sure how long it'll go, but I'll say I'm at least gonna take two weeks off from putting out pages, as much as I hate doing that when we're this close to 100 pages. I'll be finishing up my current obligations, which is a group commission I've been holding off on for longer than I should, and then I'll put things aside for a bit, possibly maybe do some paint work and stuff, just to have something fun and relaxing to play with.

I hope you'll all stick around for a while longer, while I sort my brain out.
