Posted 15 years agoMan.... the other day I had a moment which made me realize just how much of a foodie I am... while browsing through an ethnic market I gawked at some beautiful cuts of meat and promptly added them to my Christmas list...
I love food, there's no getting around it... the sight of new and unique ingredients makes me squeal with excitement like a little kid in a candy store, and there's never enough time or money for it all...

Posted 15 years agoI have reached a level I've striven for a long time... mediocrity! my art is no longer an eyesore, sure its no Mona Lisa, but I tell you one thing, I don't hide it in shame when people walk by in the bookstore anymore, and that means a lot to me at least

Random acts of a socially unacceptble nature Meme
Posted 16 years agoEveryone, forget your taboos, ignore whats 'proper' and do whats right, whats good, and what you know you want to: because sometimes everyone needs a week at home without pants, and sometimes chili tastes better if you melt a bar of chocolate into it. Sometimes a snarky or sarcastic comment is perfectly necessary. Dance in public if you hear music or not, carry around a frying pan for no apparent reason, wear a suit and tie to the movie theater. Just do something to get rid of all the boring social rules we live under. I dont care if you're 5 or 50 go out and go to a candy store, buy way too much of your favorite candy, and indulge all afternoon. Use your left hand to shake, hug someone who isnt expecting it, and for Gods sake, make sure someone is watching, spread the word and write up your story for the good of others. If you so choose to try this out, then please, link me to your journal/any photos resulting. I want this to be a way for people to let loose, dress how you want in public, and dont be afraid to be called weird, being called normal is far worse an insult.

Sometimes... when I'm trying to make a character... I hear voices, hundreds... no thousands calling out to me "Make me real! Bring me to life!", they're the voices of the might-bes, could-bes, should-bes, the will-bes, and the wont-bes. We know them as works of fiction, flights of fancy... but how right are we... I'm likely just over personifying the unmade, the undrawn, but when I put them down on paper the first time... the only expression that looks right is a smile, as if they're glad to simply be. The voices call out and when I bring them to the surface, they beg to see more of the world, to meet others, to become ingrained in the here and now, and so I furiously scribble, trying my best to give life to these souls lost in the void of my imagination... It feels good to see them free, to see them there on the page, as if they've always been. Beyond that... I feel guilt when I cant bring them to life, those moments where I can see their features and grip their outstretched arms only to see them fade back away before I pull them free... I'm likely imagining it but it feels so real. I'm no god, no deity of power, but when I build them a world of words to live in I feel as though I might be in some other realm, like I'm really creating another reality and setting it into motion... perhaps I am in some strange way, they say reality is based on human perception... perhaps just beyond that wall... the 4th wall I suppose we'd call it, is really another world filled with all our imagings, hopes, dreams, and nightmares. You may call it having an imaginary friend, but it feels more like having a pen pal from another world. No matter how you look at it, my inspiration for art is making my imaginings real, at least to some degree.

Posted 16 years agoToday... well today put my troubles in perspective... I've been feeling down, and just emotionally wacked up for the past few days... but today, 9-11 made me see just how good I have it, I may not be able to tell my dad everything, but I can tell him I love him, I can call him up at any time and chat, those worries... are nothing compared to the feelings of those who lost loved ones on this day those years ago. Now that I have my senses back, I've whole heartedly decided, not to tell him, if he learns on his own, let it be so, but for now, I'll just enjoy what I have with him, and not let the fear of loosing it destroy it for me.

Often this question has come to my mind, I ask myself "would he still love me?" his warm smile, his joyous laugh, his strong loving bear hugs, would i loose them if he knew? What if he knew? I know his beliefs but would he condemn me too? If he did I'd be cast into hell right then and there... not an eternal religious one... but one of unimaginable personal torment. To be condemned by someone I cared for so much would stab my already crippled heart. So much I wish I could tell him, so much I lock away from him.

I hide behind the only shields I know, the lie of indifference, the misdirected anger, the false blame. All the hate, is it really for him... or is it towards me? In my heart I question everything about myself "Is it really true?" "Why couldn't I be normal?" "Why did I have to let him down...?" Despite everything I say or do... Dad, i just want to make you proud... and now.. now I know its not possible and it never will be. My goal is forever out of my reach. I can never truly bare myself to you dad... and i can never feel all the love behind your words... not ever again... and all because... all because I'm gay...

Posted 16 years agoAfter thinking it over... I'm questioning the career path I've laid out for myself thus far... For a long time I've aspired to become a professional chef, and own my own cafe... and more and more my dream seems to be drifting away. I'm not giving up on it, far from it, but I dont wonder... would I find all the work to be worth it... I'm far from being a people person, I dont like working under stress, and I don't take authority very well so I cant say I'd be fine to work up to it... perhaps I need to mature, perhaps I should try something else for a while, I know I want it to be one of the arts, nothing else interests me enough, but the real question is which one...
I'm not eliminating cooking at all, so much as comparing it to the other fields on an even par first.
well... anyway... oh yes work is slowing to a crawl, trig is eating up all my viable art time, and I'm having to learn a new art program in my Media and design class which is slowing me down severely. I will continue to upload a personal project or two made in my Media course, but everything else will be slower to come.

I'm not eliminating cooking at all, so much as comparing it to the other fields on an even par first.

I got a sandwich, and then a nap... and then I handled the crisis like all the others I have faced, I screwed around, I stumbled upon a comic, the most amazingly well done crossover Fanfic I've ever read, it has a cliffhanger ending, but its worth it... well it helped me come to a conclusion, as I read it i realized... I don't give a damn if I'm not normal, hell I'm glad for it, screw that crisis crap I don't have time for it! I'm many things, but above all... I'm unforgivingly me, and I don't plan on changing that

I'd like to thank all of you for your support and for responding to my journal I really felt the love there, I enjoy having a small group who gives a flip about me and want all of y'all to know that. Thanks to all of you... oh yeah and also hurrah aloe! the stuff works miracles, always keep a small potted one in the kitchen for such circumstances its the best for burns, the chemical compounds have been shown to boost healing speeds immensely, prevent bacterial and fungal infections, and soothe in general*

my situation has improved 10 fold, there is much less pressure to do commissions as my sister got some more hours at work and that seems to have filled out our budget, this doesnt mean I'm out of the woods yet, it just means that its not beans and rice if I dont pull in 50$ a month.

my situation has improved 10 fold, there is much less pressure to do commissions as my sister got some more hours at work and that seems to have filled out our budget, this doesnt mean I'm out of the woods yet, it just means that its not beans and rice if I dont pull in 50$ a month.
