Please put a "Remove Selected" button back at the top of the screen! I know it's been a long time since you removed it for some unknown & stupid reason but it needs to be back up there. I often only remove a couple submissions from the latest in my que & it's a pin in the tail to scroll down the the bottom every time when the should be an intelligent design button right there at the top.

Wandering the con, dealer's den, artist's alley or game rooms. At some point we're taking a trek to the aquarium & Olympic area. Maybe Coke. I can also be found socializing at a table in the Sundial Lounge at the top of the hotel, at the bar sharing drinks & laughs or on my way to / from a party.

What / where will you be eating?
Breakfast will be at the Peachtree Mall, the little buffet place in there. Awesome breakfast to fire up the engines.
Lunch will be at one of the local eateries - Hooters, Metro, etc.
Dinner will be TBA Friday, with whatever group of insanity I become attached to on Saturday, and reservations in the Sundial on Sunday.

I have read a lot of journals & posts today of people griping about how much they hate the holidays. About how much they hate their family, or they imagine that their family hates them. About how their life is pure crap & they can't wait to get away from it.

I'm not trying to one-up anyone. I'm not even pretending that I think this journal will change the mind of one person out there who thinks they have it so bad. It won't. But perhaps someone out there will read it & think a little longer about how absolutely wonderful their life is.

I want you to look around you. Comfy chair? Computer or tablet to read this & get on the internet? Food in the fridge? A TV? Smart phone? Game system? Bed in your room or even a couch to lay on? Carpet? Air conditioning or heating? Windows to look out of? A door to walk out of & step into the sun?

I know to you some of those seem ludicrous. Of course you have windows, doors & food. But imagine your life without ALL of that. You probably can't since you've never known the crushing reality of total loss. You possessions. Your family. Your very freedom to move into the next room or eat when you want.

I can. I don't have to imagine, all I have to do is remember. I was once a teen with all of that stuff. And I hated life. I felt so tortured, so restrained. My parents always made me do housework, yard work, EARN my way. WFT?! How dare they, right?

Then I fucked up bad. I lost my freedom at the age of 24 to sit the next 9 years in a concrete room the size of your bathroom. My bed, toilet & sink were side by side. For the first 3 years it was a room with no window. I ate when they said I could & what they said. I saw my family once every couple months when they could make the drive to my prison.

I sat every holiday in that cell, crying. Yes, I cried. I'm a man, but there's no way to describe the crushing loneliness and despair of being able to recall all those holidays past I bitched about how awful my life was. Every person with a shred of humanity in them cries those days. Wanting so bad just to see family we thought we hated. To have the honor of cleaning up the dining room after we ate. To pick up all the paper and shredded remains of a joyous Christmas morning. To hug my mom & tell her I finally understood why she made me work. To tell my dad I'm sorry for being such an asshole teen. To just walk outside into the cool air and look at the sky. Anything.

But life doesn't give you do-overs. I had to live my life that way for longer than most of you can remember having body hair. No internet. No TV. No games. I had to lay there reading as my cellmate took a crap 8 feet away. I had to do the same as he was there. Dignity? Privacy? Please.

Don't ask what I did. It's fairly common to many so easy to find out. The point is completely different.

Look around you. Pick up anything that makes your life pleasant or easy. Something you enjoy. Now, if you're under 18, living in someone else's house, or have a loved one who made any of those things possible, go thank them. Be thankful for life and freedom. For cell phones. For computers, TV & cable. Blue Ray disks & shopping malls. Quiet winter forests & decorated streets. Someone to hug or talk to. Food to eat. Games to play.

Your life is fucking awesome. Everyone with the power to read this has more reasons to love life than they'll ever be able to count. Quit looking at the things in life you think are bad. Weigh every single bad thing in your life against the good. Go ahead, try it. Write down EVERY bad thing in your life that YOU CAN'T CONTROL. Weight it against every little good thing.

Now stop crying. Stop bitching, whining & ranting. Go find something or someone to enjoy life with.

Today I turn 21...for the second time.

Yes, 42 years ago this morning was the world-changing event of my birth. I declare a world-observed holiday. Everyone hump someone in my honor. ^.^
