A nice balanced article about furries.

Posted 10 years agoI'm going to sit back and wait. Who knows, maybe my pronz is going to be outlawed now. We shall see. Also does this mean they now own all of FA users content? Because where's the proof that it's not? Gonna find inflated macro-anus t-shirts for sale soon.
The year is 2015.
Posted 11 years agoHope everyone is doing well and enjoying their new hoverboards.
I'm in a time warp.
Posted 11 years agoWait, wha? *Rubs eyes and blinks* What's going on here? I must have been in some kind of time slip or something? Last thing I remembered was drawing a nekkid furry on a piece of paper to mail to a friendly fur-fanatic for fifty bucks. Oh! It's 2014 now? Okay so...so how does this commission thing work now exactly? Are they all just done on computer? You just E-mail them stuff now, nothing like...actually on paper any more? Now wait a minute, what the heck is a YCH?? You mean to tell me you gotta draw it and hope somebody will pay you to finish it? TWO DOLLARS?! Is there anything else I should know? I'm feeling dizzy again..jeez... *faints*
Spring has finally sprung.
Posted 11 years agoI've been so so busy lately. I'm having a hard time finding time to draw, but I haven't forgotten any of my drawing projects I've mentioned in past posts awhile back. It's just, Spring cleaning, plus planting, cleanup outside and oh my mates parents are moving so we are helping them with that plus one million other things that I need to get done yesterday. Fun fact, our toilet is sinking through the floor! Yay! Landlord will love hearing about that. Did I share enough yet? No? Well, I'm too busy to write more stuff but I love alla y'all!

We were talking about deer....and then we hit a deer.
Posted 11 years agoWhat a weird and terrible experience. We were driving home early in the dark wintery night from grabbing some groceries, and I don't remember much that is specific. It kind of got wiped from my memory after the sudden shock. I just remember we were talking about deer.
Possibly the dangers they pose leaping in front of cars? I don't know. Because a deer leaped in front of the car. "OH SHIT!" Came out of my mouth. Fe02 hit the brakes, there was no time to do any maneuvering. We hit the deer with a thud and then stopped at the side of the road, panting for breath.
A car had been driving toward us, they would have seen us slam on the brakes and hit the deer, in fact the deer would have crossed right in front of them with only seconds to spare. They didn't stop. Did they just not care or were they startled too and didn't know what they could have done? We would have stopped. Made sure everything was ok. That's the kind of people we are.
We sat there for a minute, stunned. What now? Check on the damage. Grabbed the flashlight, got out and looked at the front of the car, no headlight broken that was lucky. Two big cracks in the body, but not structural just cosmetic. Then we saw the deer. It hadn't continued into the forest, and it wasn't dead. It was sitting alive trying to move and not able to. Broken back legs? Spine? Don't know. But it was horrible to see this injured animal struggling to get up and unable to. Just awful.
There wasn't a damn thing we could do.
We called the police on our cellphone and waited. Once the officer showed up he told us he would take care of it.
So we sat there in the car in silence, in the cold and dark unable to see anything and just waited, each second stretched on for an eternity.
The sound of a single bullet being fired rang out.
Then we went home.

The sad state of furry artists and commissions forced to....
Posted 12 years agoForced to produce art that is less than their best.
This is just an observation I've made, I wonder what your opinion would be? Seems to me, what I've seen develop over the years is a nearly dead art market, where people aren't willing to pay much for art at all. This causes the artist to realize they can't afford to put in that much time or effort, and so the art produced is less than their best. Why should they? They aren't being paid enough to do the best they can do. Because that takes time. Time is money.
When I browse FA, I enjoy seeing artists pushing their boundaries and creating beautiful art they enjoy creating. It's sad when I see bitching about prices, or people offering paltry sums and then complaining about what they get. Even free art, I have seen complaining. Now of course there are successful artists who are popular enough to charge more, but even then, are they really giving you their best? Often not. The fact is, art is expensive and time consuming to produce and many forget that.
But if someone is happy with quick line drawings and flat coloured drawings, I suppose they feel it's something and something is better than nothing.
Not all of us are rich ne?
I just wonder where this is all heading if I have seen such huge shifts in the way things work, furry auction sites are dead in the water, I see artists offering up amazing work for pennies which in the end will only hurt them. The whole system right now, I feel actually hurts the fandom more than helps it.
Some will say well not all of us can afford top notch art, so by paying cheaply for cheap quickly made art we have our fursonas in some form or another at least. The artists will say well by making quick art I can justify the few dollars I get, by doing mass volume of cheap art I make tons of art and a few bucks right? That's all true, but then that also can stifle the artist since that is what they are doing with the majority of their time instead of drawing their best and enjoying what they are doing by pushing themselves to create their best ever work.
This is my own opinion, possibly I have worded things wrong, I am not looking for a fight. I am really just thinking philosophically about the fandom and my observations. As an artist myself I personally haven't done a commission in over 10 years. It's changed so much since I used to do them, I don't think I could any more. I began the way many artists do, by saying to myself I will just take on so many commissions for the low dollars that I'll make money by volume not by quality. It's no wonder my wrist is a wreck today! It actually worries me to see so many up and coming artists with the same attitude I had. In ten years, will they be burned out and have bad wrists from overdoing it? Will the artists just decide that it's not worth drawing any more because of the work involved for so little cash? Doing the math, they could make better use of their time working at Mcdonalds for pay?

Posted 12 years agoWhat 2013 meant for me.
Posted 12 years agoIt's been a strange year. I can't believe it's been 6 months since my Dad passed away, it feels like a surreal dream where this will all be over soon and everything will go back to normal and he'll be with us again. It's a very weird feeling.
I have been getting back into art lately, I do intend for 2014 to continue with the project I have been working on with song titles being turned into characters. I remember asking some of you for suggestions and ideas and even though I haven't had much to show for it as of yet, I am working on it bit by bit.
Now as we move into 2014, I wish you all a New Year full of happiness.

Boy have I missed drawing. Oh and hey, NEW ART!
Posted 12 years agoI kinda stopped for awhile and figured my wrist {arthritis in it} was done for good. But you know, giving it a rest seems to have helped. So I guess I should try not to overdo it right? I am having so much fun though! I didn't realize how much I missed it. Anyway here's a lil somethin for you guys to enjoy: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/12139151/
Can I have YOUR ideas for a new project?
Posted 12 years agoSo check this out, I want to draw a series of nekkid sexy furry femmes based on song titles. The first one I have already begun, from AC DC's "Whole lotta Rosie". Since the song is based on a big meaty girl, so is the drawing.
How awesome is that? I could use more popular well known sexy sassy songs with the name of a girl in the song title which I can use to lift inspiration for the drawing from.
Got any suggestions my fine furred friends?

Asking YOU your opinion on something plz....
Posted 12 years agoSo I have lots of porny art on here, if I have any non-porn images {for commissioners who ask for that} etc. Should I create a 2nd account strictly for clean imagery? Or do I keep it all in one account? It all ends up mixed in that way I think. What is the best way to go about it? I'm not sure yet myself.
Have a Howling Good Halloween
Posted 12 years agoI just wanted to wish everyone a spooky and fun Halloween. Oh, and I did a little artwork to celebrate. Warning, do not look if you don't like boobies.

Life.
Posted 12 years agoI can't say this has been the best summer, I spent the month of June with my mum caring for my father who was diagnosed with cancer. We lost him in a matter of weeks. It's fucked up.
So...
what else is there to say? I could say a great deal about the shit me and my family went through. But I'll just say my Dad was a great guy, and I miss him.

I am busy, oh so busy
Posted 12 years agoSo..what's up with the weather? Sat outside in t-shirt and shorts the other day soaking up the sun. Today there's three inches of snow on the ground. It's May 12, wtf?
I've been busy with life. Life just seems to keep getting busier in spring and summer. Haven't drawn much furry porn lately, I guess I feel like I've kinda lost my mojo. I'm just drawing it now n' again as fan service I guess. No other real reason to lately. Plus it's been hard to fit in the time! Between my bad wrist and trying to pay the bills, where is the time for nekkid furs? Not much. :P

Finally, I am back! I have internet again after two months!
Posted 13 years agoWell that sucked. But I am back now. I'm going to scan and post new artwork soon, I mean what else was I going to do with my time without internet? I missed you all!
I've also decided I can do a couple commissions a month. I mean 12 to 24 commissions in a year should be do-able even with a bad wrist right? I think I'll do that.

Quick Update and a new place to live.
Posted 13 years agoSo the art thing hasn't been going so good, I haven't had the time. With this housing issue it's all crazy! But I do have some good news, Rust and I found a new place. The lease is being drawn up this weekend. We spent four months in this dump and will be glad to leave it. The new place is amazing, in fact it may turn out to be the best place we have ever lived. It can be tough to find housing when we are both on disability. Very limited fixed incomes. Anyway, time for more packing and moving and craziness. Once things settle down I will start posting more art!
That's all for now, see you soon.
