Posted 11 years agoThose who know me know that recently my grandmother died. I have also been offered a job to take care of my mostly blind grandfather for a decent chunk of money and room and board. I've had to move somewhat far overall and my car decided to basically implode on me while I was moving, Hoping things go well and that I can finally get to paying my debts down enough to make it easy for myself after.
This does mean that I will have quite a bit of time and money coming up soon and have access to a free 24 hour gym due to the city's situation moving in closer to my grandparents' place, so I'll be working more on that as well. Hope to post some progress pics overall.

Posted 14 years agoWell, it's that time of year again: the end. A time to reflect on your past year and try to improve for the next.
Overall, this has been a somewhat interesting year, having moved around so much my head hurts, to having a long, and ultimately fruitful job search, and more recently, landing a steady place of residence (after a fashion to get the deposit set).
I am single still, not really looking for a new relationship with how hectic my life is, not to mention the costs of having one, but I am optimistic, albeit tentatively, about the future.
Through some months of searching (I've been un-employed for over a year), I got told of a job at the right time and place and have since worked there for the past two months. The job is low-end, but it's money, which is needed in my life now. I'm hoping to look for employment elsewhere with a stable schedule and hopefully better hours or pay-rate, but I'm keeping my bridges unburned with what I have.
Now, for a bit more serious news, I have a new place (hopefully) and I'm moving in with a friend I've known for over a year now in the middle of the month. The only hitch at this point is the security deposit with the first month rent which comes to $1319 in total. At my job, I get ~700/month at the conservative side. We put some money down so it doesn't get rented out from under us (about 500 of the 1300) and are looking for ways to get the other part of the rent/deposit figured out in the next two weeks so we can settle in. Overall, this means a LOT less spending these next two or so months, so I can afford to get in, while still trying to get hours at work and furniture/housewares for the new place.
Now, I don't like begging, but anything can help here, and I really like the general area of where I'm at. After the deposit, we can easily afford the place and it's big enough for two guys, but I'm kinda asking for some help. Now, I can't really pay you guys back that quickly, but it's a bit of an investment in a friend, as it were, and I'm willing to make some special things for the people who help out enough (probably over $50 would get you something REALLY nice from me, most likely a hat of your own design). My paypal is dra_jean[at]yahoo.com if anyone wants to help out.
Also, it's New Years... time for resolutions and such like that, not to mention our review of our last year's one (Get a Job, CHECK!)
My Resolution this year is going to be to get into shape, build up my self image a bit, get motivated to keep my business going, and to get rid of a lot of my debt that I've somehow built up over the past two years.
