Posted 8 years agoPokemon Sun and Moon intro…
Posted 9 years agoI just tried to play Pokemon-Sun for about an hour. Guess what… the tutorial and npc introduction is still going. I knew that it would probably take a while till I get to move around freely but in this generation it`s just ridiculous. By now I wish I could just pay someone to press the A-button for me till these frustratingly slow cut scenes are over. I actually tried to give a dam about the “story” and "characters" at first but everything is so slow and so deprived of meaningful information that I had to turn on a you-tube video to get stimulation from somewhere instead of going insane from boredom! Why isn`t this ship able!? WHY!?

The secret life of Pokemon: character creation
Posted 9 years agoMy husband and me are working on a pen and paper pokemon-noir-game. We plan on using Roll 20, a website that basically simulates an online table so players can play online and don’t have to meet in person. We are still working on it but we came as far as having basic character-creation-sheet, so I thought it might interest you. We try to keep everything as much “in game” as we can to build atmosphere, including the character creation. It’s not done yet, but about the style we are aiming for.
Secret life of Pokemon: Character creation:
Let`s begin with your name, pal. I can work with a nickname if you “can’t remember”.
Is this the best snap-shot of you there is?
*Here is some room for a character-portrait*
What’s your style? I wonder what kind of special butterfly we have here.
May I ask some personal questions? Your gender for a start?
How old are you? You don’t have to tell, if you don’t want to.
Where are you from? What business do you have in Goldenrod City?
What’s your Type? You know… electro, fire, grass and all that jazz… do you have one or two?
What`s your kind called in the Pokedex and don’t even try to pass for a legendary beast!
On a scale from one to twenty how would you describe your strength, charisma, dexterity, alertness, durability and willpower, twenty being the highest possible? Wait let me rephrase that just distribute 25 between these attributes.
Are you wild? Do you have a trainer? Or does a trainer have you?
What attacks do you know, aside from Tackle?
Old bread can grow moldy… what can you do? What’s your dayjob?
Jazz or Swing? *smirks*
What do you see here?
*Placeholder for a Rorschach-test*
What would it take to turn you into a murderer? If turning is even needed I mean…
Tell me about yourself in your own words, will you?
I conclude…
Your Name is:
Your gender is:
Your species is called:
Your type is:
Your attacks are:
Your attributes are –
strength :
charisma:
dexterity:
alertness :
durability :
willpower:
Thanks for your cooperation. You can go now… stay out of trouble or dive right into it. I don’t care…

Cthulhu Live
Posted 9 years agoI just got back from a very special live-action-roll play-convention (L.a.r.p.). It was a horror-larp with very few players involved, but I am sure to remember that experience for the rest of my live. The amount of love, effort and creativity that the staff put into this one-day-one-night horror-trip was astounding.
The first unusual thing was that I did not “make” a character. The roll was given to me with its own backstory and all. I was a plastic surgeon with a fake doctors degree and my seven years old daughter went missing on a camping trip from “sunshine tours”. So after suing the company I went on a trip to the same location myself to look for clues, when I met the others.
At the start, a suitcase with (safe and dull) surgery-equipment was handed to me, together with five stapled together “madness cards”. I was told that whenever my character is in a situation that would potentially impact her sanity I was expected to open one and do what it says.
From then on everything just slowly unraveled. The electronic devices stopped working, all but one; an old radio. We found ourselves unable to turn it off and strange messages reached us. People from different great cities all over Europe called for help. They told us the electricity was down, that there were earthquakes, floods and strange creatures attacking them. One by one the other radio-stations went quiet, some of them screaming, till we couldn’t reach anyone anymore. We had listened to the end of the world. I opened my first card and it told me that some of the people around me have little imperfections and that I may talk with them about fixing them.
Later that night we heard someone screaming in the woods, but we had no weapons, except an axe for wood-shopping and a few small knifes. So no one dared to go and take a look…
A creature attacked us. It looked human and it laughed all the way, but it had no skin; Just open, bloody muscle-fibers. It bit the young man in the tent next to mine. We split the beasts head with the axe in desperate self-defense. I pressed a bandage into the mans neck wound and tried to stop the bleeding, but he soon stopped breathing. I tried to first aid-measures and gave him an adrenalin injection to restart his heart but I could not save him. I opened my second card and it read: “Pick a person and think about what to change. Make a little sketch about the improvements in your note-book.”
Later in the night I heard my daughter’s voice on the radio. Or did I? She cried for her mommy and told me that she was in a dark place. She wanted to go home, but she could not tell me where to look for her and just kept crying. She told me and the others that she needed to be quiet because of someone else that was with her and might find her if she keeps talking. The contact broke down and so did I. I just sat there and cried. We had a priest with us. He tried to cheer me up. It helped a little bit but I knew that the ruled demanded another madness-card. The card told me to do calculation on how much anesthetics it would take to do the operation I had planned before.
A teenage girl in a black dressed died next. She just stood up without a word and went towards a lake. Her mother stopped her and I thought to myself that she might be suicidal. I wanted to give her an injection of some kind of tranquilizer but I could not find my suitcase. I went looking for it and eventually found it hidden below a bush, but when I came back the girl hat run off again and jumped into the cloudy water. We saw the last air bubbles of her breath break to the surface. Her mother, a battle hardened police woman broke down and cried just as I had. I offered her antidepressants to help but she declined. I decided not to take another card, because the game was still long and I wanted to see the end of it, so I took the anti-depression-pills myself. Lots of it…
Later a member of the camp stuff told me that he needed to show me something. I followed him and he showed me a patch of dirt behind one of the sheds. Me and my new friends dug it up and found my missing daughters doll. I injected air into the system of the man that showed me the grave and watched him die from it. Only the police-woman tried to talk me out of it, but even she wasn’t determent enough to actually stop me from doing it. After all the world was coming to an end and I would never stand trial anyway. My next card told me to try the dose of anesthetics on the person I picked an open the last card as soon as I was done.
I took the doll and slowly went toward the lake. The police woman followed, afraid that I would kill myself, now that I had my revenge. I readied a dose of anesthetics and she jumped towards me to keep me from injecting something potentially deadly into my arm, but I didn’t took myself out. I put the needle into –her- arm as she reached out for me. She lost conscious just like planed it and I opened my last card. It read that now, that everything is ready it was time for the procedure. I disinfected her face and started to “improve” her. Giggling madly and talking to my doll all the time. I wanted her to look like my daughters doll, but her waist wasn’t right so I removed her lower to rips from her. Sometime later she woke up and screamed. I just gave her more anesthetics and kept working on her, till the others arrived. They didn’t even knock me unconscious. They just told me to take a break from my important work so I did. Thee-Hee… I was going to make the world beautiful again… I would fix them all. Yes…. I would…
We were having dinner. Someone eventually fixed the police woman up, but they would not let me finish the improvement so I was moody the whole time. Suddenly someone screamed and strange, abnormal beings invaded the camp. I tried to escape but one caught up to me and tried to pull me back. I took out my scalpel and fought back to no avail. I just could not piece its leathery skin. It took the blade from me and slit my throat. I died; at least I thought I did. I woke up back the camp and felt that my lungs were limp like a deflated balloon. I took the deepest breath ever to refill them and coughed up the blood I had swallowed. I was surrounded by the corpses of the others and a dozen of the alien creatures. One of them, witch I tough might have been the leader killed the one that brought me here, for killing me instead of bringing me alive. Than he reached out for my and put his lobster-like claws around my neck. He strangled me and I finally escaped the nightmare, the only way we could ever have… dyeing.
^^ That was only a very brief description of the events that happened during the game and only those my character actually knew about. There was a ton more and everybody had his or her own madness-cards to go through. I just wanted to write about it. The people behind it did a great job bringing this horror-setting to live. We had a chance to win somehow but it was next to impossible to do and I am fine with that. Horror is not about overcoming evil and neither is the Catullu-mythos.

Back again
Posted 9 years agoHello,
Please forgive me for not answering messages in a while. I just had a couple of new video-games that I wanted to finish in peace. I recommend Far-Cry-Primal, Star dew valley and definitively Undertale… believe the hype! I could not say anything bad about that game if my life depended on it.
I am back to drawing now. I try to sort the commissions in the order they came in. If anyone feels like I forgot him please just send me another message, since that might very well be the case. Sorry once again, I should have checked my account more often and not delay replies that long.

The Lion Guard
Posted 9 years agoI happened to stumble over a new Disney-Show, “The Lion Guard” set in the Lion King universe and I was amazed by its laziness and disrespect for the original piece.
The characters are beyond annoying and deprived of any noticeable personality, including the original ones.
The dialogs are painfully dumb and filled to the brim with catchphrases and repetition of the names to make them stick –somehow- while the “circle of life” is mentioned all the time no matter how unfitting it is.
The voice acting is not worth mentioning.
The animation is odd and in parts totally creepy.
The references to the first two films create plot-holes and devalue what little story there is.
The setting is weird beyond believe, just by having the lions casually talk to their prey and celebrate holydays with them.
The messages are abysmal! Here read this plot and tell me if it rings any bells:
A jackal-pup in the “outlands” pretends to be chased by a pack of evil hyenas so the heroes give him refuge in the pride-lands. As soon as he has passed the boarder he signals his parents and his few dozen siblings, which he didn’t mention before, to follow him.
The mother proudly announces that they are going to exploit the lion`s generosity because this is what jackals do.
They occupy the other animals’ dens and steal their food. Then the all sing a song about how smart they are because they can make others work for them and exploit there naivety, by looking cute and pretend they just don`t get the rules.
Then they plan a great attack at a festival were all the animals are gathered, to eat them I guess, but the lions kick them out and chase them back over the border to save the day.
I wish I was joking!
I know it is just a kid`s show, but kids should not eat garbage, wear rugs, or play with unsafe toys. Entertainment shouldn`t be an exception.
Gears
Posted 9 years agoI went into half-time at my job for a while and decided to do a web comic about the origin story of my Umbreon “Gears”. I am aware that the quality isn`t all that stunning but it will provide me a great deal of experience points, if I pull it through. Maybe I gain a few levels and evolve into a real comic-author one day.

The true bat-girl

Hey, guys! We just called the lady from Nabu (Nature and Biodiversity conservation union) that takes care of the bat. The bat is doing fine. She has an infection below her skin and is currently on antibiotics and a teeny, tiny drop of pain killer. She is lively again, eats and gained some weight. She might still get worse again at some point, but it looks good. Her caretaker pointed out that she`s an particularly nice and cuddly specimen.
