Thank you to any and all new watchers from Anthrocon!!
Posted 10 years agoAnd also to everyone else who's been with me so far. I can't forget you guys.
You all should know that my commission slots are WIDE open for anything still or moving!
I make a lot of stuffs here, but what I'm most excited to keep doing is animation. If you like what you've seen in my gallery and want your fursona to be moving around too, let's talk about it! Maybe it's a fight scene on a rooftop in front of a futuristic cityscape, a sciency experiment blowing up and blackening your sona's face, or even just a relaxing idle animation at the beach. I can make damn near anything for you!
Also, thanks for all the support online and in person. I love to make all kinds of things, and the fact that all of you like them too will never stop being amazing for me. Love you all!

I'm going to Anthrocon. How are you?
Posted 10 years agoSo. I'm going to Anthrocon. And I'll have a table in the artist alley. I'll be selling sketches and badges as usual, and somehow I'll sell animation too. Well, more along the lines of after the con. Surprisingly enough, doing that in person isn't as easy as you might think. Not a whole lot of animated things happening at artist tables...
Anyway, I'll be there, and I hope you can be too. Come find me, and we can talk about all the good times we shared together! Like when you saw that last post I made, right? That was great!

Commissions are Open
Posted 10 years agoLook, I have nothing better to do. Let's make some beautiful art together. Wouldn't that be fun? Just you and me, and maybe a lineup of other people waiting for me to finish your piece? That would be nice. We never get to spend any quality time together. I don't even remember what species your character is to be honest... Lion? Sergal? Rainbow Angel Snake-Leopard? Let's do it. Hell, let's animate this guy. I bet you don't have anything of him/her/xer animated. And it's not like I'm charging an arm and a leg either. Go ahead, check my prices. I mean, $35 for an animated icon! For that price, you could probably buy 20 without a second thought!
You know, you should do it. I would like that.

Things and other things and I'm going to Morphicon
Posted 10 years agoTime to air out some thoughts; let's go.
I think I've found the style/specialty that I like the most in my latest cuddling segment. I've gone through a lot of shifts in mediums and subject matter (ponies, I'm looking at you), but I like what I've made in animation the most. I get the impression that it's taking me into a style that other artists haven't explored much, and that what I've made resonated with a lot of people. Whether you guys were most interested in the animation novelty or the cute cuddles it was showing off might be mixed, but I plan on making more moving scenes of different types: adventure, fantasy, romance, what have you. But if you'd like to commission me to animate one of your characters, then of course the theme of the next update will be all up to you.
And in other news, I've been setting up to go to Morphicon this weekend and ran into a bunch of annoying rooming hurdles that don't matter much now. I finally know where I'm staying for the whole weekend and how I'm getting there. Yay. I'll make some hand-drawn art in the artist alley for any of you guys that want to keep me slaving away at it. Unfortunately, if you want that to be animated, you'll have to commission about 100 drawings from me so that you can just flip through them fast enough to get that fix. I wouldn't exactly turn my nose up at the idea, but it'll be a commitment for sure.
So, see you there if you're going and see you back online when it's done.

I've been holding out on you, FA
Posted 11 years agoHow long has it been, 6 months? Wow. I hope people are still around to read this.
I took a... uh, hiatus. There was a lot of schoolwork, then a job to work at (and then not work at), and a lot of other bs that kept me from making furry art stuff. So now I have a few things to upload, as well as one BIG thing that should make up for my absence. Maybe. You can be the judge of that.
If I drop off the face of the Earth again after this handful of updates, hopefully you can forgive me.
HERE GOES.

One of those "I'm moving to Weasyl" posts
Posted 11 years agoFurAffinity's downed servers and slow loading times got to me a bit, and at a time when I was trying to contact a commissioner through notes too. It was irritating. But at the same time, I don't have reason enough to rant about everything this site or the people running it are doing wrong. You can go to another more opinionated user for that; I'm sure there are plenty to choose from.
In any case, I made a Weasyl account (https://www.weasyl.com/profile/fign01) and I plan on using it alongside uploads to FurAffinity in the hope that it'll be a better experience for me as an artist and all of you as watchers. This account will stay active regardless, so I'll leave it to you on where you'd rather get your updates on my art.
*EDIT: As of attempting to post this at 7:30 pm, December 19th, FA gave me the polite notice that they aren't permitting journals to be posted because they're running at a reduced capacity... So... Looks like I've gotten slightly more opinionated since I wrote this thing. You guys should seriously think about jumping ship.

I haven't made much of anything for awhile. I don't like it.
Posted 12 years agoYeah, you guys need an update. Sorry for one that I've been quiet for so long; I tend to be very minimal with keeping people in touch and up to date unless they ask me for it. I mean, I could tell you about what I had for lunch today (microwaved frozen fish meal- yum...) and maybe even throw in some super-excited emoticons to pump you up about eating that fish (X3 lolz), but that would be stupid. You don't care about that hunk of fish even if you think you do.
Anyway, I haven't made much art in awhile. You have no idea how much I wish I could get back to the stuffed fursona along with everything else, but that has to take a back seat for now. Have I mentioned I'm back in school? Cuz I am, for animation. And I haven't even been able to make much in the way of furry critters yet. It's all about squishy circles and objects morphing into each others and it takes up SO MUCH TIME.
But here's what I'll do: I'll toss some of the animated stuff I've made into my scraps. I don't feel like it's polished enough to be a main feature, but everyone following me still deserves to have something to look at, even if it doesn't have floofy paws and big eyes.
But I promise that, at the very least, once winter break rolls around I'll be putting a lot more on here. And maybe there will be a dog or two in some animations to come. I dunno.

Fig's first (and only) annual PonyDump
Posted 12 years agoHello, everyone! It's that magical time of the year you never knew existed! A time for friendship, magic, and just a little bit of horseshit. A time some people are more than happy to be a part of, a time when others begin to rant about fandom purity, but most of all, it's a time when the vast majority of you think, "Huh, that's cool" and then move on with your lives. I'm talking, of course, about the one and only Fig's PonyDump!
You may find yourself wondering what, to be exact, a PonyDump actually is. A very good question indeed. The PonyDump is simply a time when, through the course of creating a FurAffinity account, a few bits of art haven't quite made the cut from their original host, DeviantArt. This mainly concerns ponies, still playing and laughing behind the safe confines of their first online home.
And now you, ladies and gentlemen, get to watch the great pony migration unfold before your very eyes. OR, you could simply go to my DA page- http://fign01.deviantart.com/gallery/ -to get this over and done with. Your choice really.
...
In retrospect, the migration was pretty over-hyped for about 4 pony drawings and some palm trees. Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom, this is most certainly not.

Is this the button that makes journals happen?
Posted 12 years agoI think it is. I should probably do more of these...
So biggest news is that I am in fact doing commissions and I've finally whipped my folder for them into decent shape. It was looking kinda pathetic before... The commission page, not my art. My art is debateably cool. So take me up on one if you agree. I'll make your fursona look like a cartoony badass (unless you want something else of course).
Secondly, AnthroCon was fun.
Thirdly, I'm going to be going to school this fall semester for animation. I'll probably end up making some animal reels, and if that happens they'll definitely go here. So keep watching.
Speaking of that, thanks to my handful of watchers so far. You guys all have fantastic taste. And you get to be part of the cool club that's all like, "I was one of the first 100 of FigN01's watchers". And then you'll be a furry hipster, which the rest of normal society may not be impressed by, but I certainly will be.
