Music & pageviews
Posted 16 years agoThis took me a bit longer than I expected, but finally...
I've got my recording gear TODAY!!
A Lexicon Lambda stereo pre-amp,
an Audio-technica AT2020 condenser-microphone and
a König & Meyer microphone stand (lol)
.......it's all mine! ^____^
So, it's time to get serious! >:D
Congratz, If you've read so far!
I mentioned another thing, and that is my pageview counter. It will reach the 1k quite soon (if nothing VERY BAD happens^^), so I decided to offer a reward for he/she who posts a screenshot of the 1k pageviews and notes me about it FIRST! I could offer either to draw something (which I'm not really good at) or to compose a little song (a character-theme for example). Or I've you just want me to sing on any song, that would be no problem at all.
So long, regards, Firebrand

Posted 16 years agoTeh Collab! (The Bards Song)
Posted 16 years agoYay! I'm new to arts, composed/covered only a few song, and I'm already looking forward to my first collab. =3
I'm always looking for a challange, but this seems pretty exciting to me!
The song we will cover is The Bard's Song (by Blind Guardian). (A must have heard for every fan of classic fantasy storys/RPGs)
But who are WE??
Well, thats:
me (
Firebrand99) at the vocals and the piano,
dabs as the composer/arranger,
Kaliden on the accoustic guitar (and maybe vocals, too),
Karuno on the violin and the flute
and a cellist who we are still looking for^^
I wether knew the band nor the song in the first place. While browsing through dabs gallery I found his Classical cover.
I was instantly seduced by this song and started singing it over and over. I also recognized, that dabs can play guitar, so I came up with the idea to make a cover of that song with vocals and several guitar-tracks, mixed together. But this thing grew up to a multi-instrument-classical-cover.
We intend to do a cover with real instruments, so that it sounds real authentic!
So let's just see, how this turns out! :D

What to remix? OR Music you have probably never heard before
Posted 16 years agoYeah yeah, I read it on ever second user page: >Dislikes: Hiphop, Rap,...<.
And I really DO understand it. Over 90% of the Hiphop I hear on radio-broadcasts or on MTV is just crap. I wouldn't even download them/buy an album if it was for free. Unfortunatly all this Gangsta-Rap and the like sells quite well.
But I'm not sure, if anyone of you guys (and chicks^^) have heard any GOOD Hiphop so far! (GOOD in my opinion, of course). If your risk to possibly waste a few minutes of your time, listening to the following songs, you MAY be surprised!^^ They're very upbeat and don't have anything in common with Hiphop as you may know it (besides someone is rapping^^)
The songs are from a CRAZY german band (that sadly broke up many years ago), so you probably won't understand what they are about. Therefor I will try to describe them is 1 or 2 sentences and give a translation of my favourite lyrics line.
Fischmob - Du, äh du
It's sort of a love song, but more like a description of a woman, a physical quite strong woman.
Quote [1:44]:"Her back is more broad than of a docker, and at a biceps comparison I'm only second, sadly"
Fischmob - Tranquilo
A song about the disability to get up in the morning.
Quote [2:25]:"As long as the butt fits into the pants, no work will be accepted"
Fischmob - Bonanzarad
A tribute-song for the "Bonanza"-bike (a bike, also called High Riser; popular in the 60s and 70s)
Quote [0:52]:"When I rush towards a victim with 30 kph, adrenalin comes out of my ears, mouth and nose."
All these songs where performed with guitars (and some synth & sound samples)
I want to practice with Guitar Pro, so I will remix and submit a medley of these songs, JUST IN CASE someone is interested

500! Review-time!
Posted 16 years ago500 pageviews so far. A first little milestone for me.
It seems that some people have noticed what I'm doing. I really enjoyed, to grow into this great community. over a month has elapsed and everyone I met so far was friendly and most of them had some kind word for this little Gargoyle.
It's time for a little review now.
The thing that introduced me to the furry scene was my affinity/fetish for Growth, Inflation and Fatfurs (especially DragoMike's) in the first place. I' read a really nice story, written by DragoMike, which name is: The Rising Dragon. I got hooked to it and wanted to have a chat with DM. Due to his broken email I looked for another way... and so I found FA.^^
I didn't want to join this community empty-handed, so I decided to think of a fursona and draw something. Approximately at the same time I got my harmonium, so it was just a matter of time about when to start submitting audio stuff. That was a craft i knew much more about than drawing.
I was quite busy for the last 2 weeks due to working at my brothers gastronomy. During this period I gathered many ideas and made up my first collab. I'm started over hald a dozen of partly smaller partly bigger projects (most of them according music stuff), but I just had a very limited amount of time available. As from the beginning of the next week that will change hopefully.^^
I was an addictive WoW-Gamer till a few weeks ago. I decided to abandon it in favor of my artistic activities on FA, wich consumed my in quite a similar way WoW did before.
Similar but quite different! .......
Before I joined FA I regarded myself just as a consumer of arts, gaming and music in particular. Since I'm here I met many amazing artists, some of them even much younger than me. They exhibited so much talent, skill and enthusiasm for arts, as I couldn't ever imgine. Thnat really impressed me!!! It made me think of how much time I had wasted in my life so far without any creative momentum.
I hope it's never too late to become an artist!!!!!

Oh (VERY) Happy Day!!! :D
Posted 16 years agoWhen I woke up this morning I though it would be a day like any other, but it turned out quite differently!
I turned on my PC as usual and saw my first surprise.
A gift from the marvellous
thecaptainfoxx showing me as a sumo wrestler. Thank you very very much for this, Foxxy!
Sumo Slob Firebrand ... check it out!
I was very pleased and soo happy about that. Deeply touched, too.
So that day started very joyful and I was singing the whole day at work. But I didn't just sing any song, NO! It was the Mr. Yiffy Song of the excellent
maxgoof (a very funny parody. Actually I just sang the chorus, cuz I didn't remember the lyrics) I'm pretty sure that no one of my retarded, austrian workmates knew what yiffy means. hehehe
It turned to evening and then another thing hit me like a flash.
karuno decided to join my musical cover-collaboration on The Bard's song (by Blind Guardian)!!! I was veeeeery happy, cuz I think he will be a great enrichment to this collab (I will write about this collab in another journal, because it's so HUUUUGE!^^)
I was so glad about that day, so that I intended to sing "Oh Happy Day" (with some changed lyrics) for all you guys who made my day! But I had to delay that for a good reason! Read further^^.
As if though that wouldn't be enough for one single day, my former studying-mates paid me a SURPRISE VISIT. So I could share the evening of this great, exciting day with some good friends around. I showed them alls my stuff on FA and also some of yours, and they were very pleased, too.
Last, but definitly not least one of my friend (who is a guitarist in a metal band) told me, that his band is building up a little recording studio in the next months, and that I'm welcome to use it!!! Finally, he also offered me to borrow me one of their microphones for some home-recording.
And so this beautyful day ended. It was definitly my happiest day since I joined FA and probably the must joyful day since YEARS!
Edit: Oh, I almost forgot to mention the great avenue-musical cover of
holmgren13. That mady my day, too!!! (Listen to it and be amazed!!)

Posted 16 years agoAlong time ago, once there was a famous painter, lived in a peaceful kingdom.
One day, the king himself called the painter to come to his palace.
The arts of the painter were well known throughout the whole kingdom and beyond, so the king requested him to paint a canvas for him, showing flying ducks in the sunrise. The painter agreed and told him, that it would be an honor for him to do it. To address the issue of time the painter apprised the king that it will take him 5 years to finish the picture. The king was a bit astonished, but he approved it after a short period of cogitation.
After the 5 years have been elapsed, the king visited the painters studio to view the picture of the flying ducks, that he had requested. However the painter hasn't completed it yet. In fact he didn't even start to paint it. The king was very peeved about it and was on the verge to arrest the painter for this disappointment but he granted him a reprieve as the painter assured him to have done the painting in about two hours.
The artist started drawing. He swung his peint-brush with ease. Each of his brushstrokes seemed elegant and very skillful.
As he finished, the king was enchanted and very pleased with the outcome. He completely forgot about his anger just two hours ago.
"Why did you tell us, that you need 5 long years to finish your painting, if it only took you that short ammount of time?", the king asked him with a astonished mien.
"I will show it to your majesty."
The painter opened a door leading to a store room, which rather looked like an unarranged gallery. Dozens of paintings with ducks in any pose were stored in this room.
"It took me 5 years to get the right swing in my hand to paint these flying ducks just as i liked them to be."
This tale was told to me by a good, wise friend on mine.
Why am I telling you this? (..and why do I hope, that you read so far?^^)
Well, I just received my WACOM-tablet today! (Hooray!!!)
But I think I will need some practice before dropping artworks one after another.
Furthermore I don't have plenty of time at the moment due to my work at my brothers gastronomy for the next 2 weeks...
There are also 3 little music-projects I am working on, so it will take me some time to submit my first digital, visual artworks.
Allthough I will submit some sketches to the scraps-gallery, so stay tuned and thanks for reading!
P.S.:English is not my mother-tongue, for that reason I hope you can forgive me my english with (probably) many grammar and spelling mistakes. It's also funny for me to see, when someone tries to write sentences in broken German^^.
