As a person with stretched lobes, one of my hugest pet peeves is people calling plugs "gauges". They are not fcking called GAUGES. You have stretched lobes, you wear plugs in them. That is the correct term. Look it up.

One confession:
1. I have a tough outer shell. Most people know me as an extremely positive person, very kind, thoughtful, and strong. But underneath I'm experiencing such pain that I've been feeling suicidal off and on recently. I have deep anxiety problems from 19 years of abuse, and even more problems from my current situation. I'm going insane and have daily problems keeping myself together and being able to function. I still have some hope, but hope has been hard to come by recently.

I'm mostly posting this to get the last meme off my page... BUT I was wondering, who has experience with nostril, septum or conch piercings? I'm thinking about getting at least one of those, but I wanted more info first...

I already have my lobes pierced (and stretching; currently at 2g and going up to 1/2"), so I kinda know how the piercing thing goes. BUT I'm terrified of needles, especially ones coming at my face... so if anybody has the same fear of needles and has facial piercings, info/encouragement would be greatly appreciated. :]

Also, the worst thing about piercings (even worse than needles coming at my face) is the smell of the parlor. It smells like hospital and it makes me really afraid to get work done.

I prefer traditional, but recently I've been trying DESPERATELY to learn Photoshop with my new tablet... because when I moved away from my parents' house I had to leave my art supplies behind :[

Where do you start drawing from?
Uh. I just draw shit. XD I start with the head and work out a good face shape, then work on facial features. You're not gonna get a good drawing out of something if the face/head isn't good

What is your drawing habit that you are aware of?
Being too strict and ready to give up on a drawing; I need to learn to be more loose and sketch faster


Any tips for coloring/shading?
Start with colors that aren't super saturated, and use many, many different layers of colors, not just one or two. Layer more bold, saturated colors on as you go

How long does it take to finish a piece of art?
Oh christ, it varies so much nowadays, I hardly do as much art as I used to. Sketches only take a few minutes, and that's mostly all I do nowadays anyway. When I attempt Photoshop it's a disasterious amount of time, like, almost two hours to color a small cartoony drawing with no background. :[ It makes me sad to see what has happened to my artistic process

What music do you listen to while you draw?
I listen to music that fits the mood of what I'm drawing, so it varies

How long does it take you to come up with an idea?
I only draw when I already have an idea in mind

Not at all. Moving to another state, away from an abusive family, into a lot of extra responsibility, and with some pretty tough mental problems... really sucked a lot of my artsy-ness out of me

I just want to be able to draw again without having to put such teeth-gritting amounts of effort into it; I want it to be natural again

I just got a Wacom Bamboo Fun tablet, and I've been attempting to use CS2 to draw into, but it's so hard getting used to it. I pretty much understand how to work the tablet itself, but does anybody have any tips/techniques to make drawing in Photoshop easier? I would appreciate any help I can get... I'm very confused.
