Housing Update
Posted 2 months agoWhelp, I guess il not being evicted?
So as some of you know from my last journal, a week or so ago I was notified by my landlord that I was going to be evicted after I launched a complaint about another tenant.
At the time I had notified my landlord that I was going to seek legal action to fight the eviction on the grounds it was violating my rights as a tenant to file legitimate complaints.
Well after a few days he came back to me and told me he was no longer going to evict me on the condition that me and the tenant I had complained about stopped complaining about each other. To which I agreed.
Now, do I trust the word of a liar and a cheapskate? Hell no, so I will still be moving out of my house the moment I find a place that won't require me to find another job.
To the people who were able to donate to my Go Fund Me, I give you my utmost thanks, and while I am no longer being evicted I will still be using the donated money to find a new place to live, preferably an apartment so I don't have to deal with other tenants. 🙄
Now comes some good news!
My job has decided to clear me to return to work under a desk job assignment per my doctors orders, so I now have some income coming in. Nothing concrete about back pay for the near 51 days I was out of work, but here is hoping. My doctor has also put me on physical therapy to hopefully stop the numbness in my back.

A Cry for Help
Posted 2 months agoSo I was notified by my landlord yesterday on August 24th, after I had filed a formal complaint to my landlord about another tenant violating the lease by smoking in the house, that he would not be continuing my lease and that I needed to move out by September 23rd or face eviction. This was quite clearly an act of retaliation because how dare I request that my landlord uphold his contractual obligations to answer to complaints made in good faith. I've been unable to work since June 26th due to a workplace injury I explained in my journal 3 weeks ago, and even after surgery I'm still fighting to get the finances I need.
I have nowhere to go, no family that can help and the closest friend who can help me find a place to stay lives 1200 miles away from me. I'm facing the very serious threat of homelessness and even if I could fight my eviction, I have no money to pay a lawyer to do so.
I beg you, if you are able to, or you know someone who is able to, please donate to my GoFundMe linked below, or reach out to me on telegram or discord.
thank you, and God bless,

I hate Workers Comp + Help needed
Posted 3 months agoOh boy I'm fuming while writing this,
So back on June 12th I was involved in an accident at work, I was loading a truck when a 1300 lb (590 kg for you Europeans) metal cart loaded with product suffered a brake failure and rolled into me while I was bent over with my back turned. Thanks to the wall of boxes in front of me being incomplete I was spared the misfortune of being accordion'd into the wall like a Loony Toons character. However there was some damage.
I went to the hospital where some Xrays were done and I was informed I had a partial compression fracture of my L3 vertebrae (lower back) which was biting onto a nerve ending and causing painful muscle spasms in my back.
Thankfully my medical expenses are covered under my works insurance policy, so my pain medication and the Surgery I have planned for August 1st are free of charge for me.
However, I have been fighting with insurance for workers compensation, including pay for lost time as I have been unable to work since I was put on medical leave on June 16th. I've been unable to work for over a month, and I've been fighting just to get short term paid disability while I am unable to work, but assistance from my workplace HR department has been less than forthcoming. I've been talking with workplace injury lawyers to see about filing a lawsuit against my employer (Home Depot if you are wondering) for both negligence of maintenance for the cart brakes, as well as refusal to offer disability pay resulting from a workplace injury. I have a few options of Lawyers, and am currently negotiating fees and such.
The issue i have is a lack of funds just to keep a roof over my head and food on the table. My rent is my primary concern ($585 USD a month for those curious) because I can get food from my families church's food bank every Sunday.
If anyone is able to provide assistance so that I can avoid losing my house, it will be greatly appreciated, I will also be offering discounted commissions for those who are interested.
If you are willing to help or seeking a commission, please reach out to me via the discord or telegram links on my page, or via direct note here on Furaffinity.
Thank you,
