Either you have shitty customers that whine and bitch all the time,
Or snobby artists that treat you like shit because you didn't pay.

On the subject of the first point.

A message once a week asking the progress of the art? IS NOT NAGGING.
Every other day asking if you've finished the pic? Yeah go ahead and get upset.

If it was free yes it should be put behind paying customers. BUT DON'T TAKE MORE COMMISSIONS AFTER DOING THE ONE IN QUEUE.

And if you offer the art as part of a contest or raffle, or just flat out giving someone art. Then it should hold the same value as a paid commission.

If Customer A ask you to take some time to draw this awesome idea they had but they can't quite afford it, fine, rank it lower in priority.

But if Customer B wins something from a journal contest then it should be the same as a commission.

On the subject of the second point.

Shitty/snobby artists.

Don't take 20 commissions, hold 5 raffles, three contests and be open for requests.

Know your work limit and don't over stretch it.

Don't hold contests or give chances for free art if your schedule isn't open for it.

And if someone is being patient but asks what's going on every couple of days then it's not nagging. If they are messaging you every day demanding for it to be done yes, you have the right to be mad.

But if someone after a few weeks wants to know why they haven't been notified of anything, You are being a shitty artist.

A simple, hey I've been busy, I've got a lot going on, is all it take. You took 30 seconds to prevent further butthurt later on.

Don't be pissed or upset when after a month of nothing someones a little upset when they wonder what's going on.

Don't be a shitty customer and don't be a shitty artist.
