Posted 7 years agoI've been gone for a total of 2 months now. My trip ended up extending itself. I had a fun time hanging out with family and friends, reconnecting with some and visiting others.
Having moved away from them, it was at first so strange to step back into life. At the same time it was really refreshing. And even a chance to reconnect with myself!
That said, I am happy to be back, and I did miss you all, I lurked a little, but I wanted to take some time for myself. I did, and even got some traditional arts done!
And to get back on the saddle, I thought I would offer up some monochrome sketches for you all!

Revolving menus
Posted 7 years agoSo I'm at a restaurant right now. And the ever revolving menus made it sooooo hard to order. I spent so much time making everyone else behind me get increasingly annoyed at me.
Seriously though, just because we have the technology doesn't mean we should use it. Who else hates staring at screens that change their offers every couple of seconds. Making it impossible....to look at the whole menu.
XD had to complain.

A question! Commissions and personal art juggle.
Posted 7 years ago(I always say hi guys! in that "neutral" everyone included guys, but now I'm self conscious about it, so) Hi!!
Today I'm wondering how you fellow artists deal with this.
I always want to work on personal art, but commissions always take precedence. So I'll not work on personal stuff,
or do something super quick that doesn't take that much time. That way I can move on to working on art for the
people that have hired me.
But that leaves me going from commission to commission without stopping for something more...heart felt/personal?
And then when I finish my list of commissions, which I keep small because that way I don't get overwhelmed by too many at
a time. I feel insta guilty, and have to open up commissions again, because how can I have nothing to work on?! Btw, that is
a whole other thing, each time I make a journal offering commissions, I am super angsty about it? Idk, like I'm holding my breath.
So thank you so much when you get them! It makes me breathe again X3
But then when should I go, ok, lets do personal art right now! What do you do?
And as a commissioner, how do you feel when you see an artist that owes you artwork, posting their personal art or investing time in this
instead of in your commission?
