Alas, all good things must come to an end. I had a three week vacation because vacation hours piled up beyond carryover amount and all that jazz.
I was still writing on and off, as I was traveling (as much as I hate typing on that stupid tablet, the keyboard is so bad) but not a lot got done. Besides, I promised myself, and my fiancee, that I would take an honest to goodness break from writing. I know I said in the past that I took breaks from COMMS in the past, but I didn't take a break from writing outright. Burnout is a very real thing, afterall. I did tons of art, as you may have very well noticed, and that kept me from going insane with nothing to do.

With that being said, BACK TO COMMS AND WRITING!

For a warm-up and easing back into it, I'll be writing short snippets on each of the Hive Artworks that I've created these past 3 weeks. As much as I'd enjoy savoring it and writing full stories for each of them, that's FAR too much work. Look out for those as I update them.

So, car insurance is coming due and it's gonna hurt. I can pay it, but that being said, I wanna help recover from it.

I want to try opening some cheap art commissions. I'm not talented enough to get fully custom with it, but I think an Artistic Freedom would be fun.

There's been a lot of art on my page lately. Very cool, I've gotten back into art. But where are all the story commissions?

Well, a few things:

1. The ones I'm working on currently are big ones
2. Art is a good thing to do in downtime, so I don't burn out (a very real thing for me to worry about)
3. I was lowkey forced to use my vacation hours at work. Use 'em or lose 'em, you know? So I decided to use them all at once. I'm taking some trips that the fiancée and I have been wanting to take for a while. My first job that offers paid vacation. Well, at least a job that offers me paid vacation.

So, all of you who are on my comm list: Don't worry, I didn't forget you. I broke my own rule and made a long list again... shame on me.

That being said, I'm still writing, but I also art now! Woo.

I've been cooking something in the Discord and it's been working horribly well. The smoke alarm is going off in the apartment because it's got me thinking!

What would a YCH be like for a story? How is it different from a custom commission?

I have tons of ideas for stories that I just can't get to. Comms take priority afterall. That being said, I've been itching to get some of those silly ideas done. So I've been offering a flat rate to make it a commission with your sona!

Here's the simple version, using my most recent release: If I Musk, I musk

I set a flat rate of $20 for a story of 2k words or more. I figured I could get that much out of it. I did. I got almost 3k in fact. (If that was a regularly commissioned Quick Jolt that would have been $30!) The client was satisfied because it was a kink they were interested in.
The story itself was up to me, but I worked around their dislikes.
The price could vary, I'd have control over the kinks and your sonas, but the kinks you HATE would not be included.

Another example:
The one that's gonna come out this weekend. It cost the client $30 with an estimated 3k words. I lost control with my horniness and wrote 5.5k words. That's $20 savings on their end due to my HUBRIS! But I had fun and that's what matters.

I want to do more of these when I want to get a personal idea done. Would this be something you think you'd be into?

Ok, folks, here's the rundown!
I have a $1000 loan to pay off to my grandmother for helping me get a new car when my transmission in my beloved Buick died...
So, after this current story I'm working on is done, we're entering COMM TERRITORY! All funds from these stories will be going toward paying her back in a timely manner.

I've already lined up a few to help with this, so I won't be digging myself a large pit like I did before. I already have $200 of it paid off, and I don't plan on raising my prices to do so.

As for the life update, referencing this last journal:
Don't worry, it's nothing serious. I've been struggling to find enough time to get things done in the day. I come home from work, have to take care of things (dinner, cleaning, other life tasks), and then I find myself with little drive because I'm so frustrated.

I just need to dedicate some time in my day to get things done, if any at all, and be happy with what I get done instead of feeling like a loser if I don't get a certain word count done. I'm exaggerating, of course, but when you're a workaholic, you WANT results from yourself and expect nothing more than the best you can do.

The long and short of this video is as follows:
-Set a window of time aside and get whatever work you can done, without rushing yourself
-Cut out all distractions possible (music is a must for me)
-And when that window of time is done, you're done. No late nights trying to get things done.

Those of you that have been getting comms from me lately, discord members, and friends may have been seeing it.

No, it's not burnout. I'm fine.

However, if you compare the speed that I churn out comms now to my first year, you can see that there's a big difference. I can't get a 12k story done in a week anymore. What happened?

I'm gonna lay it down straight for ya.
My current job's work schedule changes every week, sometimes mid week. I work the weekends half the time and those are my days to really crank shit out. On top of that, I have responsibilities as a life partner now. The work/life balance is tough when work keeps changing, and the comms help pay rent, but isn't the main source of income for it. Some nights I get home from work and I have so many responsibilities that I don't have time for writing at all!

Yes, it's taking me a lot longer to open comms, get work done as fast, and it's frustrating me just as much as it is those of you waiting for a chance to get a story from me.

That being said though, life takes priority and comms don't. My fiancee is always #1 and work pays the bills, not these stories. My work speed may not be what it was, but I'm still getting things done. My writing is just as much a passion for me as it is a side hustle.

So those of you looking to get a comm from me:
Be patient. I'm still here. I'm still writing. Stories for me and stories for others, just not as fast as my first year.

I've made a realization
My first year writing stories, then opening for comms, I was riding a wave. A tidal wave even. I found a new hobby and I was living it! I still enjoy my writing, trust me, I'm not going anywhere.
However, with my job recently picking up, and family responsibilities, I haven't had nearly as much time as I would like. On days when I come home from my closing shift, and I have, like 2 hours before I have to go to bed, I just get the tablet out and draw something instead. That's what happens when you have two hobbies and a job, I suppose.

That being said, though. I'm not burning out, don't worry, but for my own sake, I'm slowing down a bit. I'm still writing, but I'm not working at the usual breakneck pace I was working at before. I realize now that that was borderline unhealthy for me. I still plan on taking comms and creating stuff, otherwise I have 0 hobbies! But don't expect me to be working as fast as before. Especially since summer is coming up and that's the busy season for my job.

Also, for comms, I'm still gonna keep my comm slots relegated to my discord members. I have a small list of people to ask if I need to fill a slot for any reason, but otherwise, I think this is the safer way of enjoying my hobby. No risk of some weirdo getting a story from me, and pulling their payment a day later from Paypal.

I think I've stated this, but not as clearly.

I'm giving my discord members priority on commissions. This is for a few reasons:

1. I can trust people who join my server and actively want a story to pay. Those who want a story from me, but plan on dining and dashing don't want to go through all the effort. They'll get reported faster than you can say "Bob's your uncle" otherwise
2. This way I have a solid line of communication with you. Frankly, I hate it when I have to communicate through FA Notes or god forbid Email. It's slow and unreliable.

There are benefits of joining my server however:
-I often have raffles when I need a character for a story and want to include one of you
-You can win a story from me through contests
-I'm hosting writing classes every saturday for those who want to learn how to write or better their current skills
-Less important, but you can meet like-minded people from FA and other sites in an easier way, and in a kink-friendly space


And here's the thing as well: I'm only taking 2 at once. When I opened up February's comms they were snatched in 5 minutes! Ok, I've been thinking about it for years.
I can't share images in journals but take my word for it. Unlike many artists here on FA, I didn't go to Art School, I sure as hell didn't have the tools, and I DEFINITELY didn't have a tablet to try digital art. My preferred medium was whiteboard markers. I can make some real good stuff.

That is, until last week!
My wonderful and slightly pushy girlfriend insisted I try the drawing tablet she gave me. A Wacom Bamboo pen. I HATED IT. I couldn't see where my pen was, I hated having to hover over the pad, and I just couldn't get used to it. Imagine my surprise when I come home one day from work and there's a frickin' drawing tablet installed on my desk. It's so much better! The screen makes things just WORLDS easier! Krita is easy to grasp and I've been working on some things. I only plan to get better.

Long story short, I make art now! I'll be uploading art as well as stories! WOO!

Hello everyone.
I'm sure that all of you are wondering why she's green now.
I'll tell you what happened while maintaining some semblance of respect for all parties involved.

Ember is getting a redesign/being madeover.
What brought this change?
Gooborgs are not my species. When I was just starting out, I was reaching out to people and asking if they wanted a story. When I reached out to V (we will call her V) she offered to have Ember become a Gooborg.
A year or so passed since then. I've gotten a lot bigger. I've grown as a writer. I've gotten the courage to ask bigger and better artists and authors for collabs and trades.
One artist in particular, who will remain anonymous for this explanation, was one of them.
V does not like anonymous for personal reasons; therefore did not want me to collab with them in any way.
Now let me be frank with you all. I'm a nice guy. I'm very accommodating and patient. However, I do NOT tolerate someone trying to control my interactions with people due to personal reasons without validation.
So, even though I tried to make it work, I have decided to cut ties with V.
This left me in a particular spot. Ember is a Gooborg - V's species - her intellectual property.
As much as I'd like to be spiteful and petty, I'm taking the high ground and being polite. With the help of  MaracoArco, Ember has been completely redesigned. No longer a Gooborg, but a Duchess of The Hive. With no limitations on who I can collab with, trade with, GET ART FROM, OR EVEN TALK TO, Ember and I are free to do whatever the hell we please now.

Nothing will be changing.
Ember is still a gooey creature.
She still assimilates people (except it's corruption now, my favorite!)
And she's getting a little thicker.

Make no mistake. Even though I'm upset with this outcome, I am by no means upset or angry with V. I wish her the best in her endeavors and her future. Our opinions clashed and it was time for us to part.

All art, stories, and whatnot with Gooborg Ember will be considered retcon. I will NOT take them down, though. I worked hard on those stories, and those artworks with her (and my friends in some) are dear to me.
I will be writing a story to help signify this change. It's gonna be wild, meta, and 4th wall breaky, so look out for it.

I've had a few people reach out to me now on Discord, asking when my comms will be open. Honestly, I don't have an answer. It all depends on the two people I get.
-How long they want their story
-Where I can communicate with them (Discord/Telegram/god forbid FA notes)
-If there's a timezone difference or language barrier

Q: What is your favorite part of the writing process?
A: I take things from a very different angle. Where some of the more established authors that do this more seriously (not to say I don't of course) have you fill out a google form and fill out as much info as possible first, then get back to you with a completed story for edits whenever they're done, I take a more personal approach, and those of you that have worked with me know this.
The best part is when the client has very few ideas but a base line for what they're after. We go back and forth on discord or something. It's even better when they're just as kinky as me and we both get super hype about it. That leads to a better story. I tell everyone I work with, "It's not a good smut fic, if I'm not hard while writing it."

Q: What is your favorite project of 2024
A: I was able to meet several of my favorite authors this year, even work with a few of them. Those are often the ones that get the most hype from me. It's a close tie, but I'd have to say it was An Eggcellent Opportunity I got to meet and work with  ZombiNeko for one thing! On top of that, they made some additional art for it just for fun! If you like ABDL art and have cash for YCHs, go check them out. An honorable mention would be Itorian's Diaper Disaster only because I researched all of  Thatguywholikesfood's stories with his main sona, Itorian, and pieced together a cohesive plot from all his work that he DIDN'T EVEN KNOW he was doing! Q: What's your favorite story of 2024
A: Personally, my favorite ones are all the cringe/dumb ones that I get done in a day because I get that energy. That sonic one I wrote? I was laughing my ass off knowing Sonic fans would HATE me for it, despite being a Sonic Fan myself. The story about Flex seal drones? That was a dumb one, too, and my ribs were sore doing Phil Swift impressions while reading it! They don't get nearly as much love as some of my work does, but I don't care. It's there for someone to enjoy.

Q: What are your favorite types of stories
A: Ones that are written for fun! When was the last time you read a lewd story that had a STRICT lore to follow, no willingness to incorporate characters from other universes, or try other kinks? They're not always pretty fun, are they? I write stuff solely for the purpose of a good read and a solid jerk. It may not satisfy the two for everyone, as everyone has their own kinky tastes, but that's fine. None of my stories are SO serious that you'll think I have a gun to my head and a story bible to flip through on my desk. The lewd fics that don't really have a solid idea in mind and you follow your heart (rather, your junk) usually end up the best.

Q: What type of kink would you like to write more of?
A: If you look at my pricing sheet for 2025, you'll see that very few kinks are on my ban list. However, the popular ones for me are ABDL (obviously), Undertale/Deltarune (somehow), and TFs of various kinds. I would LOVE to write more of anything really. Not to say I dislike any of these kinks, but I can write more than just those! I wanna get more out there. More disgusting. WEIRDER! Bugs laying eggs in your nut sack and you have to lay the eggs with your dick! Frickin, um, PHYSICAL STATE tfs! Goofier concepts that turn lewd! Indulgent ideas just to satisfy old fantasies. Spin-offs of old hentai manga I read. I CAN and WILL write anything (whether it'll come out good or not is the catch)

Q: What is your favorite game
A: I always find myself going back to the old Star Wars games when I'm in a funk. Not N64 old, but older ones that were actually good, before EA went and ruined them. Battlefront 2, Force Unleashed, and Lego Star Wars. I can beat those games SO fast. They always cheer me up.

Q: What inspired you to write kinky stories in the first place
A: I touched on this in my more recent story Straight to Straight. GF and I lived in a trailer for a while. She worked from home, and her office was the master bedroom. As a result, I couldn't use the TV or the plethora of consoles that we had, as he job dealt with sensitive customer info (couldn't go to bed until she was done with work either, but that's neither here nor there). I was sitting at my desk one day, jerking it to a  timothy_sandia story, and I thought, "I can never find a story that exactly to my tastes." So, since I was basically chained to my desk, and sick of games, I decided to start doing something different. I wrote a story about my friend Chris. It's the first story I ever uploaded. It's history from there.

An open letter to my friends and fanbase,

First off: Holy cow, a year! A year of writing smut for you all. That’s genuinely amazing. I honestly never expected to be doing this on the side or at all. I wrote my first story, The Secret Project, to tease my friend Chris. The same Dr. Chris in the story. I thought that it would be a good idea to upload it to FA just to see what happens. It turns out you all enjoyed it! That’s amazing. Then, I wrote another. And another. And another! Then I reached out to people whose Sonas I liked: Josepine, ABDLSusan, koita, Strobes, LuvTheBlimpable, Vinyldarkscratch, EllieKitty, and SO many others. I know now that I sounded like some of those random users on Discord that reach out to you out of the blue and ask to make you an art commission, only to ask for $100. But the difference was that I didn’t want payment.

Looking back, I am so happy I did that. The vast majority of you are now friends, even if we just talk once in a while. I’ve made many friends, some long lasting, even! And I can’t stress enough how much that means to me. Not just that you think my stories are good, but the fact that you think I’m worthy of talking to! Shit! I even got to meet some of my heroes on here! Zen~, timothy_sandia, ABDLSusan, and a few big names. Thatguywholikesfood, for example, even reached out to ME and wanted a commission! Like… WOW! Even the little accounts who don’t have any stories or art to their name but have been there since day 1! You know who you are. I pay attention. But the ones I interact with (some of you are lurkers) Shadownigth91, IamFingAwesome, and all the others that give me faves on every story.

I won’t lie to you; I’m tearing up a bit thinking about this whole year. I know it’s just writing stories. Big deal. But this is how I relax. A TLDR about how this all happened in the first place: I was practically stuck at my desk in the trailer that GF and I lived in for a bit. When she was working, I couldn’t be in the bedroom (aka her office) while she was working, so I HAD to do something while I wasn’t working. My mind thought, “You should write a smut story. You’re at your desk all the time.” So I did. Little did I know it would turn into this!

I would be lying if I said I had plans to do this forever. I honestly don’t know what the future holds, but for the foreseeable future, I plan to keep writing. I don’t have any big plans. I had a book that I wanted to write back in, pfffft what, 2017? I might go back to it. Who knows? It wasn’t furry, but I might make it furry, for the sake of… content? For the hell of it? I don’t know.

Here’s the short version. THANK YOU SO FRICKIN MUCH for liking my stories. I never thought I’d be doing this for a year. All of you that I wrote for and have actively become my friends, THANK YOU AS WELL!
