Little life update!
General | Posted 7 years agoI ended up being super busy this last week for a variety of reasons (being out of city to help my mom, mental stuff, other duties etc etc),
but this week should fiiiinally see some more productivity! I really want to draw more again, sometimes all that matters is just getting started.
I'm planning to get started after posting this, hopefully!
In other news, on the 29th I'm leaving Germany for an undetermined amount of time to go back to Iceland, this time I'm taking my Laptop + actual tablet so I can continue working as normal.
Of course working might be a bit wonky at first, I don't know yet where I'll get to set up my stuff, how often I'll actually feel like being inside to draw (have you ever been to Iceland? I hate the cold, but it's too beautiful to stay inside), if I'll be too busy hanging with my boyfriend and friends etc etc, a looot is up in the air. I definitely need money of course, especially considering Iceland is a lot more expensive than Germany.
I also don't have a flight back yet, but I'm not moving there permanently. I'm just kinda doing what feels right, and this is it! Might come back after a month, might stay for... however long. I'll see.
I'm going to try and work every single current commission off this week to avoid unnecessarily long waiting times, but in general my commissions are still open for everything! :)

Upcoming absence: 19th of Dec til 3rd of Jan!
General | Posted 7 years agoHey there!
On the 19th of Dec, I'll be driving to Berlin to pick up my long distance boyfriend!
Naturally, I'll be focusing on him, and then there's also all these holidays happening.
I might doodle a bit sometime, but no active drawing. We haven't seen each other in a bit and I just want to spend time.
He leaves again on the 3rd of January, which is when I'll return to drawing.
... and figuring out what I'm going to do in my life. The past months have not been easy, both in regards to just making decisions, and life bombarding me with unnecessary shit, me learning painful (in a variety of ways) life lessons. I'm not even sure what country I'm going to live in at the moment!
Anyways, until the 19th is here I'll be a busy bee drawing as much as I can so I can take my favorite gay boy out as much as possible!
So if you want to get something for Christmas, now's the time! ;) Everything's open!!

More tablet doodles + other commissions?
General | Posted 7 years agoI'm slowly crawling back out of my quarter-life-crisis and I'm trying to get my stuff sorted and back on track!
And one part is obviously working and earning money. I've been VERY slow with drawing but that needs to end. I honestly also want to draw!
So, my current queue is about to be empty, so I want to figure out what to open up.
First of all I definitely want to keep opening the tablet doodles. They're relaxing, experimental, and I can draw wherever.
So I will currently open for 5 more of those, for $25 each! You can easily find examples in my gallery! I've been trying to make them more and more different and detailed, but you can give me directions you'd like to see!
Tablet doodles - $25 each
1. GrumpKnight
2. ColossusCat
3.
4.
5.
Furthermore - other commissions. I always struggle with opening them because - what exactly do I open? Everything? The options are essentially endless, but making a price sheet that big is both a hassle and probably incredibly messy and hard to understand. I tend to be a bit lazy with making these but that has to stop.
For the time being, I would like for you to refer to my Weebly page on prices.
That aside, you can always message me and ask for anything you're interested in. Just because it's not openly mentioned does not mean I won't make it!
I hope to soon have something more clear to offer!

Back at home!
General | Posted 7 years agoI've made it back to Germany a few days ago!
You know those trips, where, after you've come home, you're just constantly questioning your life? I'm having a bit of a quarterlife crisis so I'm taking it a little slow.
I wanted to take the weekend to just relax and then work off the leftover tablet doodles.
After that I'll start doing regular commissions again as well!
Thanks for your patience!

More experimental Tablet doodles?! $15 each! (CLOSED)
General | Posted 7 years agoHey guys!
I finished the batch of very first experimental doodles and got to know the program wayyyy better.
$10 didn't feel entirely great as a payment for it but since it's a super new thing it made sense to me, but I'd like to up it to $15!
They're still very experimental, so I'm going to try and do different things and be even more diverse than I have been so far. I want them to not just be tablet headshots haha,,
Anyway! If you're interested, please comment with your Paypal + reference(s) below! (or send a note!)
I'll keep a maximum of 10 slots open again, I felt that was a nice amount which I could finish within a week, despite also still working. So might be quicker this time around!

3. - 6. Sabrith

Experimental $10 Tablet doodles! (CLOSED)
General | Posted 7 years agoHey guys!
I got my Samsung Galaxy Tab A today and so far it seems actually pretty fun to draw on!
Soo I figured I'd offer a little doodle thing? Just $10 flat, and I will test out the program (I've settled on one after testing around for a bit) as long as I end up going.
It will 100% be more than just a doodle, I'd like for there to be color and some painty stuff maybe even. But since it's so experimental, very cheap.
I have to work Wednesday and Friday 8hrs each, and 4 on Saturday, so I'll be a bit busy with that, but I think I can doodle more often with this boy anyway!
If anyone's interested, feel free to hit me up =)
EDIT: Added a list of slots as to not get swamped haha

The future: Quit my job, commissions, vacation, etc!
General | Posted 7 years agoSooo I up and went to submit my resignation letter, and September 1st will be my last work day. I feel so relieved honestly!
I will get back to doing commissions, soon! I was thinking about putting something small up today. I just want to take it slow for August probably.
I'm also going to get myself a Galaxy Tab A for drawing on the go, also as I'm going to Iceland for a month soon to meet one of my favorite people ever for a bit!
I'm hoping I can do some small coms on the side on the days we can't hang out (or where it's just plain too cold to leave the bed???)
I'm definitely planning to start studying next year. I applied this year but I was picky and they didn't take me, but I suppose this gives me another year of just doing whatever I want, so I'll embrace it, and the job held me back.
Considering my sudden and intense absence, I hope I will be able to go back to doing commissions without too much of a hitch. I'm a bit worried, but still hopeful.
I also still haven't uploaded a few things I made a bit ago, so I'm gonna focus on that today too probably!

I'll prob return to doing commissions more 'full time' soon
General | Posted 7 years agoHey guys,
I feel kind of defeated to admit this, but I'm just not really happy working a regular job. It's partially because of the job itself,
but I also hate the restrictions it places on you. I recently met so many lovely people from other countries through a queer summercamp,
and I want nothing more than to visit them! But work makes this so hard! It doesn't feel worth it.
I'm highly considering quitting my job sometime before October, doing commissions full-time again for a while and seeing where this goes.
I applied for a local university this year but unfortunately they didn't take me, so that might have to wait until next year.
Life choices are some hard shit but I'm kind of sick of sitting around, waiting, and feeling like I can't do things that make me happy.
Doing freelance full-time might have been stressful, but I also put a lot of pressure on myself when I didn't have to.
And I feel so SO privileged to even be able to do freelance! I cannot stress enough how blessed I feel.
I'm sorry to anyone who'd been trying to get a commission from me these past weeks, I was really overwhelmed by life.

Happy Pride mon-- year!!
General | Posted 7 years agoPride month has been extended to last until FOREVER!
So I was away during pride month and horribly busy when I came back so I totally missed taking part in it!!!
NATURALLY that means we have to extend it. Forever. Always be proud!
I don't really talk about this/mention it anywhere, but I'm very queer myself. I'm pan, somewhat polyamorous, transmasculine, and identify more and more with the term non-binary.
I'm very active in my local LGBT+ group and take part in a project where we visit schools and other educational facilities and do 2 - 5h crash courses on a variety of queer topics, to educate young people and teachers alike!
I want to be even more open about this and bring it up in my art more. So I kind of just wanted to say that and get it out! Queer themes are very prevalent in my life and I feel like I sort of kept it out of my art-sphere online. Let's stop doing that.
(ALSO!!! Thanks to everybody who wished me a Happy Birthday in my last journal!!!! <3 )
HAPPY PRIDE!

I'm back!
General | Posted 7 years agoGot back yesterday! After... almost 30 hours of traveling with minimal sleep. :^)
But it was cool anyway! And I feel asleep around 7pm and woke up a bit ago, around 5:30 AM, and I feel great!
So I wanted to quickly make a journal to let you know; I'll check any messages I got in the meantime,
and soon I'll think about some small offers I can put up. In July I will start a part-time job I'm really looking forward to,
which also means I can draw more for myself! I feel like 1 out of a 100 submissions in this gallery might be personal,
sooo hopefully I can up that in the future. I didn't get to draw a lot during my vacation so I've been craving it.
I also indulged and got myself some POSCA markers in Japan! They're a lot cheaper there than in Germany so I had too.
They're awesome. I keep drawing on my things!
Today's also my birthday, so maybe not too much work today as I'll be hanging with friends later! I feel like the Japan trip was a big birthday gift to myself after working so hard the month prior, so I'm already pretty happy about that. Got myself a few more expensive things I loved instead of several cheap things I just sort of liked (I feel like this was hard to learn for me to do lmao).
I'm sorry to everybody I couldn't respond to/work with prior to the trip, it was honestly super stressful. I feel a bit more relaxed and better about the situation now and hopefully it'll all work out better. I had applied to a university earlier this year and was told they can't take me before we left, so I had time to think about what I want to do (spoiler: no clue yet!)
This was a bit of a rambling. The TL;DR is I'm back, things are sort of hard, but I'm looking forward to being back and doing better!
Hope you guys are having a great week and beautiful pride month!

Absence: Vacation! (6th - 26th of June)
General | Posted 7 years agoThe time has come! It's evening and the next time I wake up we're off to go on vacation!
Three weeks of chilling in Tokyo this time around. I'm pretty excited, half relieved we're staying in the same place for once, half a little saddened by that, since we're only staying in the big city! But it'll be nice for once.
I'm not going to bring my Laptop, only my phone (and Switch and 3DS ofc lol), so I will occasionally check FA, but I will NOT be discussing anything regarding commissions during this time! Commissions are closed. If you messaged me previously but we weren't able to agree on anything up until now, feel free to message me again once I'm back. I obviously can't work on anything when I don't even have my tablet on me.
Anyway, I'll see you guys later this month! Stay safe!

Queue is empty, commissions closed; some offers coming!
General | Posted 7 years agoI finally worked off the rest of my queue!!!!! *insert confetti and children cheering*
As you possibly noticed I uploaded a batch of Yoga YCHs yesterday, and already finished them. I will only take on such specific things for a little bit now!
But again, I will be gone from the 6th until the 26th anyway, AND I've got two birthdays coming up early June... so I really only have more time today and tomorrow maybe damn.
But anything I take on now will be finished beforehand!

General | Posted 7 years agoFor the time being, all of my commissions will be closed!
I MIGHT upload some very specific offers/YCHs, but for now, please don't message me asking for a commission!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Those who HAVE messaged me and I haven't replied yet - I see you, and I will get to you soon! I might take your commission, but also maybe not. I will have to see how well I can work.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I will be on vacation from the 6th of June until the 26th, and I literally have like 5 birthdays coming up in June, too, so I'd like to have everything on my queue done before the end of May. I haven't been working very well lately, due to a mixture of my wrist being dumb (thanks to everybody who wished me to get better!!) and honestly - the weather?? It's been really gloomy and weird and sudden weather changes tend to give me headaches and make me feel sluggish.
I've also had to deal with some legal stuff; a relative died and there were some problems regarding the inheritance; I will start a part-time job soon; yadda yadda.
I'm just tiiiiired.
Also! I've been dabbling in some wildly different art in my freetime. I feel like I've limited myself for a long long time with commissions and had issues thinking outside the box. I want to explore these new things by myself for a bit and feel less restricted, and hopefully also be able to offer some more interesting things on here.
Absolutely no clue how long my commissions will be closed, but AT LEAST until the beginning of July. As said, I might still offer specific things in between. But opening up everything might have to wait for a bit.

I hurt my hand from drawing too much :') will be a bit slow
General | Posted 7 years agoSo apparently I've been drawing and handcrafting too much last month, and eventually I started having some pains in my wrist when I put weight on it or bent it too far or anything like that. :')
I figured I didn't warm up enough, or hurt it, or whatever, but stretching it REALLY didn't help lmfao, it rather hurt even more.
I eventually went to see my doctor, and while she said she's pretty sure it's not carpal tunnel (thank fuck), she assumes I just overexerted my wrist. (She also gave me a slip to have my nerves checked but the neurologists just NEVER have any appointments left ffs)
She prescribed me a wrist support thingie which I wear whenever I can, but it's really uncomfortable sometime so I can't always wear it.
Of course, this has to happen during a time where I'm just SUPER motivated to draw and experiment and become better and shit and I have to take it slow!!!
I'm still around and online, so feel free to hit me up if you're worried about your commission!

Back! + What turnaround is/isn't acceptable to you?
General | Posted 7 years agoHey there, I'm back! I had a great weekend being educated about important stuff, which will help me do my Volunteer work even better hopefully! I also met some amazing people. :D
Anyway, I was wondering what most people see as an acceptable turnaround time? What do you sort of "expect" for commissions without a deadline?
At what point do you become impatient, irritated, and want to inquire? Do you dare message the artist when you're unsure about your commission's status?
My turnaround time varies a lot depending on a few things I think. Some things I will put out within less than 24h hours, but other times it takes several days to even really find the time and energy to sit down and draw.
But, barring some exceptions, I think my turnaround time is still like... 2 weeks max, maybe?
I kind of struggle with the phases after a super productive time - suddenly a wait time of 3 or 4 days feels really long to me, and I feel anxious and like I should hurry up and work! Which doesn't exactly help me get into the mood. :^)
I'm genuinely curious to hear how others - commissioners and artists equally - think about this!

Short absence over the weekend (13th - 15th of April)!
General | Posted 7 years agoYo!
I'll be gone starting tomorrow, until Sunday afternoon. I'm taking part in something educational and will be in another city with a full schedule!
Therefore I won't draw or check/reply to notes.
I'm aware that I still have unread notes in my inbox. Please be patient, I will get to them when I have the time!
It'll just be a short time so it'll be over super quickly and I'll get back to drawing again right after. :D

Please help: What kind of com. is most interesting?
General | Posted 7 years agoSooo first of I want to say that I absolutely respect people choosing to or choosing not to commission something!
I do not want to judge or blame or anything. I'm genuinely a bit confused and don't really understand a few things?
Essentially I've been feeling like I had to struggle more for commissions than I used to in the past. For a while I thought that had solely to do with me focusing more on commissions, and just noticing gaps in between commissions more than I used to when it was just a side thing (which I think still plays a bit of a role).
But earlier when I checked my stats out of interest and my most commented on submission, it was an offer for icons put up 3 years ago.
Headshots done for $20 each, with quite a bit of interest, which I can also remember still! I remember a few instances of putting up rather cheap things and getting a lot of interest! A lot of small things add up to big amounts, so I used to love doing that.
Buuuut comparing it to that I feel like instead of progressing (i.e. being able to offer more expensive things with equal demand) I've kind of stalled or even gone backwards?? I'm constantly stressed over getting enough commissions. I DO get enough, don't get me wrong. I'm occasionally contacted by commissioners themselves without me doing much and it pretty much always adds up to 'enough'.
But occasionally I want to spend time and effort into making more than 'enough', but it feels like I hardly manage to get past that lately (the last time I really did was with doing two art slaves in one month, and I do prefer many small things over few big things I suppose).
This is absolutely not supposed to be a "why aren't you commissioning me???", because you guys DO and it helps a ton. But I feel like there should be potential to improve interest and demand and I'm just absolutely lost on where to go I guess?
I offer very cheap things, and the interest is moderate.
I do some adoptables again after a while, and the interest is rather minor.
I try bringing up old faves again as offers, and I get maybe 2-3 commissions.
I've asked a few times before and got a small amount of answers, but if I ended up doing it, it wasn't really any different I suppose?
I've been wondering if interest would raise again if I were to work more on my art with personal stuff for a while, but I just don't really have the time or energy, because I NEED to do commissions. They are my sole income for the time being. It's literally my job. And I want to do better. It sort of feels like you guys (the commissioners) are my employer and I'm the employee asking how to get a promotion haha,,,
But seriously. If you have any constructive input, please throw it my way. Any possible offers or ideas, anything I could improve about my art. I'm super open to this sort of feedback but I rarely get it, same with suggestions. And if it's just "do your own thing", any feedback is super helpful!
UGHH this journal feels really whiny but honestly overdue as hell. I had a near mental breakdown not too long ago over life stuff and honestly the stress over making enough money is a constant in my life, feeding into this mess. It's probably not as bad as I'm making it sound right now, but it feels pretty poopy right now afhjkasf

Made a form for commissions!
General | Posted 8 years agoI was never a huge fan of forms for this kind of thing, BUT lately I've struggled after being contacted via what feels like 10 different means,
as it makes it super hard to keep up and find everything and kajhfkjshg
SO I felt if people just submitted it the same way, regardless of where they contacted me, it'd help me a lot. I made a form ages ago actually and just spent like an hour revising it!
I'll try to post it for people to see, but I'll likely just link it to anybody who messages me about a commission.
For anyone interested, This is the form!

Some thoughts, some plans. How are you?
General | Posted 8 years agoHey guys!
Lately I've been constantly torn between struggling with my art and feeling like I've improved. I'll go from feeling like I stagnated and disliking what I do to feeling like I did a huge leap going forward. I have no clue how to feel! But I also blame it on going through a mentally weird and draining time.
Fortunately, the overall result of this is me wanting to improve my art; my anatomy, my style (esp the consistency of it), to broaden my horizons and appeal to a larger audience.
I also ended up not liking any other drawing program that much unfortunately, BUT Clip Studio Paint Pro went on another sale which I've been waiting for for months, so I finally got it. I'm in the process of getting used to it and figuring everything out. Fingers crossed it was worth it. I have a feeling I will keep switching between several programs for a long time though. There's ALWAYS something one program offers that another doesn't, but I'm a little sick of being stuck with SAI forever.
On another note, I've never been big on personal projects. I rarely ever do personal art, but really by my own choice. I just often lack the motivation and even interest, in a way. Commissions have been a major motivator and they're something I genuinely love doing! But I realize it's led to small burn-outs countless of times before so I want to learn to do more for myself.
This all sort of culminated in me suddenly having the motivation, plans, and ideas/concepts for a bigger, story-focused projects. I follow several people who do such things and have always observed from afar. I see many pouring a lot of time, love, and thought into their projects over a long time. I also see others who have had their ideas for a while but never actually start, in fear of "not being good enough".
I feel like that sort of helped me to not take any project too seriously, because anything I get done will help me improve to do better on the next thing. So I won't stress too much about it being The Most Perfect Thing I could create, but rather something that brings me (and hopefully also others) joy. I also don't really want to talk too much about it in fear of overhyping myself and being disappointing/disappointed in the end. I've been spending a surprising amount of time and energy on working it out all of a sudden so I will see where it leads. If I end up with a finished draft, and create a proper beginning, I will post it. And see where it goes. And hopefully learn from it. It definitely helped me out of a slump, so I might already have.
How are you guys doing? How are you feeling about your art right now? Anything you're bothered by, anything you're proud of? If you've recently finished something you're really happy about, please feel free to link it!
