A while ago I researched a bit regarding manga and some movies regarding queer romance, but I wasn't too successful. I do figure there might be more in literature and especially any form of comics (including webcomics!) And before diving into countless of recommendations and lists again I figured I could maybe ask and get some cool recs... :3c

What I'm looking for:
- queer romance, specifically same gender relationships and/or trans people
- no fetishization!!!!!!!!
- some NSFW would actually be nice, but it shouldn't be the focus. If I wanted mindless smut I would go to the countless "yaoi" manga out there... (hell no)
- I'd prefer a slice-of-life-ish setting, but wouldn't really mind other settings (fantasy, sci-fi etc)
- right now stories that focus on the romance aspect for the most part - I'd also like to hear about good subplots but I lack the energy to read too much right now

I've been really torn about whether and how to do Adoptables! I'd sometimes make single, medium effort ones, and they'd either sell super well or barely/not at all (which is of course to be expected).
I've been considering doing batches of low effort ones, possibly using a tiny base I've made myself (never made by others, I greatly dislike people doing that) and selling them for >10 USD flat, but I'm unsure.

I've been wondering how to go about special sales and discounts. A few times people mentioned they'd like to see something like that (understandably?!)

My main issue is that generally I get a new commission every few days, so if I were to randomly be like "xx% sale on everything!" I would feel bad for any people who commissioned me in the past week, but it would also be a hassle to apply the same discount to them if they've already paid, too.

I'm also a bit afraid of people only waiting until I put up a sale for something, and not really commissioning me in the meantime due to it. I guess this could be fixed by only doing random sales on specific things, but never on everything?

But for special occasions, such as Christmas upcoming, I have been thinking of doing a sale on everything for a while prior. But how much? How long? When will it start? Should I start randomly (brings up my first issue) or should I announce when (brings up my second issue)??


Another thing I've considered for such occasions would be an art slave thing, where I put up an auction for x amount of days where I will exclusively draw stuff for the highest bidder. I would preemptively make sure to actually have time on that set amount of days and say no to any new plans. (Example, if its a 3 day thing, and I'm busy Tuesday and Wednesday, it would apply for Monday, Thursday, and Friday. So in the end it will likely take longer than the x amount of days!)

We finally, finally got our Wi-fi back yesterday, after being with only mobile data for like three weeks.
At first I tried to work on commissions as usual, but doing everything on my phone was both draining to me and my data. I'd have to download refs there and transfer them to my PC, and finished files back to send them... it kind of sucked. So I ended up disappearing for a few days to wait it out.

But here I am! In a better place, with more space, and ready to... race? Anyway, I'll be catching up with all comments, notes, and mails to update my info and get started again! Thanks to everybody for their patience!

The dang time has finally come!!

Tomorrow we're getting the keys, and Friday will be the big day of moving. We're gonna try to get it all over there in one go BUT we'll have to see.
My bf has to work the entire weekend so the second round, if necessary, will be Monday. Sat and Sun I will probably spend my time setting everything up.

We've already contacted the internet people and they were so overeager, they already went to the new place today... although we told them we don't even have the keys until tomorrow, lol
Hopefully that means they'll be quick about it once we're in there, though!

Regardless, as soon as I can settle down over there I can get back to working on commissions! The past few days have been spent slowly preparing and packing things,
and just honestly being restless as hell because I'm so ready to get there!!

As if 4 months of laryngitis earlier this year wasn't enough, I caught something cough/cold-like yet again...
Meant to go to a doc today but literally everybody in our vicinity just happens to be closed today. Wtf that
Anyway, just walking up the stairs to our fourth floor nearly killed me so I'm obviously going to take it a bit slow, also regarding commissions!

The past two days I mostly spent with taking hot baths, watching YouTube videos, and playing the fuck out of Starbound. Also not being able to sleep and being on Tumblr all night ;^)

In some other news, we're moving soon! We're going to look at a place on the tenth but we're already pretty much sure about it, and due to circumstances we can move in very shortly, probably within a week of that appointment. I'm going to have a lot more space to myself which is really going to help keep my mental alertness up and feel more relaxed to draw. I'm very excited about it. Also gonna get a fucking balcony!!!

Hey guys!

We finally came back home yesterday! We started our trip back home on the 20th, noon Japan time. We entered our apartment back in Germany on the 22nd around 7 AM, German time. We showered and went straight to bed until noon, after which we immediately made self-made Pizza and salad, haha. We've been direly missing those things! There's a crazy lack of cheese in Japan, and fruits/veggies are outrageously expensive.

Anyway, it was really, REALLY nice to break out of an unchanging daily routine. Instead we had four weeks of ever changing surroundings, new things, language practice and daily activities. It's crazy how much stuff like this does for your mental well-being, too.
Also got pretty tan. I've got that lovely line on my thighs where my shorts ended,,, :'^)

Spent quite some money, bought some cool shit (and gifts for friends/family!) and saw loads of cool stuff! I'll likely be using some of my own photos as reference for practice in the future!
I also doodled a tiny bit while we're gone but I don't think anything feels worthy of being uploaded. I'll see.


Trip aside, I'm really motivated to get back into drawing and to try and change/improve some things, too. I've gone through all my messages and notes, and I'll continue working on the few left-over things from before I left first, and once those are done I will re-open commissions. I'll upload a submission announcing that, so hopefully nobody misses it!

As I've mentioned here and there I'll be on vacation! I'm going to be backpacking through Japan for 4 weeks!
I did something somewhat less backpack-y for two weeks last year and really loved it, so it was only a matter of time for me to go again.

Of course this means I won't be able to finish any drawings or take on Commissions at this time. I will have WiFi so I'm going to check FA occasionally anyway!

I've been rather stressed by some things and a boring daily routine setting in, so this really has been my light at the end of a tunnel. I've been looking forward to this for months now.

It seems that I've burnt myself out a bit too much. I spent so many days not drawing at all, just sort of dreading it?
So I eventually decided to just accept this as a short break. Focus on relaxing, not thinking about work the entire time.
I eventually doodled some traditional stuff for myself in a cool new sketchbook I bought recently! It felt super relaxing.

I'm still online often. I postpone checking notes to when I feel ready to work, so if there's something urgent you need to talk to me about please say so in the title!
Don't be afraid of contacting me though. Please just be respectful of the time I need to take.

I've also had several events and plans unfolding recently. But the next upcoming weeks are empty. I'm planning to pull myself together and draw some this week,
and get back into the swing of things.

With my partner's and my upcoming 1 month vacation in Japan I've been really focused on earning enough money for it. We've got it all planned and paid for, but I severely dislike emptying my account entirely, I always want an extra cushion to come back to. (I do have a savings account as a last resort, but I'd rather leave that untouched in case of sudden emergencies)

After said vacation I'm going to start a side-job at the LUSH store in my city so I'll have a second source of income that comes with less responsibilities than being freelance, haha.
Plus, I love the store, and the employees already knew me from me being there so often anyway. I'm very much looking forward to that stability and less pressure to earn money for something. I hope the vacation will allow me to reset and come back fresh and inspired!

what exactly makes a badge a badge?

I've seen anything ranging from a headshot to a bust, to sometimes even full-bodies. Usually with the character's name or the person's username added on the bottom.
Often to be printed and worn to cons, if I gather it right?

So, unfortunately I had to realize that my Patreon set-up ended up stressing me out a lot and I never really did much for it, which I'm seriously sorry for. I postponed it for a while due to feeling bad which doesn't make it any better.

Sooo I will change the reward tiers. By donating you will get a certain % off of any art you buy from me, so you still gain an advantage and I'm not stressed out over doing extra stuff. People who had been patrons in the past and unpledged (which I understand) will also receive these discounts once to use. I will try to gather the people and note them privately to let them know in case they don't see this.

I had surgery on the 30th as planned and I could actually already go home on the 1st of June!
I've been taking it easy and am trying to focus on recovering. I have to wear something specific to aid recovery for the following 6 weeks,
and from what I've read I'll be able to sleep comfortably again after roughly 2 weeks. (The past nights have been pretty damn rough)

My arms are somewhat affected by it but much less than I anticipated! So I want to work through notes today and try and see if I can get back to some relaxed drawing.
I still need to do a few things for Patreon too so that'll be up on my priority list.

Heyo! Just a quick journal to announce I'll be gone starting tomorrow. Tomorrow I'll be attending a wedding all day, and Sunday I'm leaving for my surgery.
I'm hoping to be back before the 4th of June, and then I'll see how I feel. The surgery will probably affect my arm movement somewhat so I really can't tell when I'll feel like drawing.

I'm still going to check FA on my phone, of course, but I won't work or discuss commission matters while away!

So, I'm a huge fan of movies such like District 9, Prometheus, Alien: Covenant (saw it in the cinema recently and loved it), The Day The Earth Stood Still, Avatar (not the airbender one of course) etc...
I. Absolutely. LOVE depictions of possible extraterrestrials and their worlds, it's probably my favorite genre regarding movies. Even if they're very human-like, meaning even Man of Steel did it for me haha.
In the same vein I also do enjoy movies dealing with some sort of supernatural beings as long as it's not just straight up jump-scare horror and nothing else or something like that. I very much enjoyed Cloverfield and Shin-Godzilla, for instance. (The latter way more than the former though. Loved how unsettling that thing was at times)

I also seem to enjoy such movies in which a being/person... I don't know has been dead and is resurrected? Something about a special type of death is very fascinating to me. E.g. I like mummies, but only if the resurrected version is an actual person, and not just some fucking murder banshee (Looking at you, new mummy movie). Comedy-wise, I really enjoyed Warm Bodies for that very aspect, as an example. Also the mummy was my favorite character in Night At The Museum, granted I also found the actor to be very aesthetically pleasing.

This wasn't as precise as I hoped it would be LMAO. But essentially I enjoy movies which show non-human beings, person or not (but preferably on a person-level) that aren't just outright spooky murder machines, but have some sort of cool origin, may it be another planet, dimension, death, idk.

Yo! Sooo I'm going to have surgery at the end of this month. I have to be at the hospital on the 29th and since it's a little further away I'll already be travelling a day early. Surgery is on the 30th, and they said I'll be there for ~4-5 days before being discharged.

It's nothing major and I'm doing fine! I wouldn't die without this surgery but it will sure improve my life a lot, so I'm looking forward to it!
I'm not sure how much I'll feel like drawing the days after but I know I'll try anyway haha,,, and I'll give an update once the time comes

I still have a few bigger things left on my queue which I'd like to finish before this, but I also want to try to make up for this week+ of absence by working a little extra beforehand, if I can manage. Just keep in mind it might end up having to wait until after I've recovered

FINALLY I decided on a tablet, which was on sale now too and bought it.
I've been meaning to get a new tablet for a few months now as mine is 7 years old, and has more and more issues. I love it, but it makes drawing rather frustrating.

So! I ended up deciding on the XP-Pen Artist 16, a tablet with display, doubling as monitor.
There were endless lists of good tablets with displays and I ended up comparing all the top ones, watching reviews, reading reviews etc, and for my personal uses I ended up settling on the one named above, for 500€.

Due to some holiday over here the delivery will be delayed but according to amazon it'll arriving next Thursday!
And. I am. So fucking excited. I've only ever had one tablet so this is a new experience. And I've been wanting a display tablet pretty much ever since I got my first one.

On a side note, my current tablet is an Aiptek 14000 U, if I ever were to get another display-less tablet I would honestly look for the same one again. It's amazing and has gone through a lot and still works just fine. I also only had to replace the pen nib once, and it came with a replacement!


Anyway, new tablet soon. Excitement! Can't wait to draw with it!

I wondered if it was that after that one time when my voice was hoarse for several days for seemingly no reason!
But my regular doc could never really see anything. He's a good guy, he didn't want to just hand out meds for nothing,
so I don't blame him. I went to a specialist today, she took a look and confirmed it was laryngitis. She prescribed me some antibiotics and I hope this was the last cold for the year!

Goddamn I've been getting a new "cold" every 1-2 weeks now, it's so exhausting. Let's pray I'll be done with this once my antibiotics run out.
I've got another appointment then to make sure of that.

The good news are that this doesn't keep me from drawing since it's mostly a sore throat and runny nose, and damn if I haven't gotten used to that yet.
Sooo nothing really changes. I was just so relieved to have that diagnosis and to get some meds for it. So here I am, sharing it \o/

I've noticed a lot of people seem to be sick around now so I hope everybody is doing fine! =)
