Commission spam incoming
Posted 8 years agoFinally deciding to post a good amount of the different commissions I've either gotten myself or co-commed over these last few years, so I apologize for the spam, but eh, new shit! Huzzah!
PS4 Update
Posted 9 years agoSince I have no real desire as of right now to bother with VR stuff, I probably won't be picking up the Neo anytime soon once Sony finally officially announces it. So I decided to finally bump up from the flimsy 500gb that's in the console to a nice 2tb Samsung Seagate HDD, 7200rpm w/ 32mb cache, should speed the old girl right up proper. Console is being a bitch about reading the firmware on the st....hang on.
Huzzah! That took longer then it should have...
Alrighty, re-setting up everything again. I suggest this for anyone who's not necessarily looking to bump up to the Neo when it comes out, its only about $100 and it'll breath new life into the system, not to mention meaning you don't have to delete shit everytime you want something new, which is always a plus.
Now then, time to take half a day to reinstall all my games and DLC <_<;;

XBone'd
Posted 10 years agoSo I finally broke down, thanks to the Rare Replay mostly, and got an Xbox One. Realize now my friends list is tiny from back when roomie had the 360 and I played on that, so all you Xboninites, my Gamertag is SkitzoFlamey, hit me up!
Life and wut-have-you!
Posted 11 years agoWell its been a rather eventful little later winter/spring for me so far, so sorry for not updating the end of the kidney stone saga like I said I was gonna.
Everything went great with the lithotripsy, was back to my old self at work a few days after the procedure. Went back the day after, but was still a little tender in my side so wasn't quite my bouncy self til a few days after. Pissed the big chunk out about 4 or 5 days after it, so was in the clear since then. Been drinking a shit ton of water and NO FUCKING SODA. Still working on the actual losing weight part of this new me, but I'm a helluva lot less puffy thanks to the soda out of me.
Aside from wonderful bodily function news, Best Buy is doing a lot of restructuring....again. This time though, its beneficial hopefully, at least for me. Went in this morning for a Sales Floor Lead position, which means I'd basically be overseeing cameras, videogames and music/movies. I feel like I smashed the hell outta the interview and I know most of the internal people in the store want me to have the position over the other person from my department that applied, so feeling pretty damn confident, hopefully will know results within a few days.
I feel good, really good for the first time in awhile. Getting back to a healthier state is a big part of that but then also being given chances at work and whatnot that weren't there before, having a bit more stability with things, its rather comforting. Will try to get more in the habit of updating this more then once or twice a year, but then I always say that, but hey, stranger things have happened!
Later peeps.

Kidney Stone Mk. II - Part III
Posted 12 years agoWell I'm quite glad this last week is over.
First off, decided to try and go to work after going to the urologist, thinking it wouldn't be that bad on a Thursday, and to be honest, the work part of it really wasn't. Insane-o-strict to policy manager though = Huge stress levels. All the issues eventually got dealt with and while I didn't have a spike during work, I had to percocet myself to sleep on Thursday night cause things spiked like a motherfucker. Got some folks to cover my Friday and Saturday shifts since a lot of the part timers have had pretty hard hour cuts, so plenty willing to take 'em.
Rested the next few days with a some marginal pain, mostly just soreness cause I was keeping my stress and action levels down. Was able to go in Sunday morning to put up the ad set [new price tags for the week for those who don't know retail speak] and thankfully my supervisor was cool with me leaving cause we had the coverage, especially after my GM basically [in a nice way] kicked my ass out of the building to go home and rest.
Spent most of Monday with the same headaches I'd been getting all week, which I now realize were probably from caffeine withdrawal, haven't touched a soda or coffee since the stone dropped. Didn't get much sleep last night leading up into today but everything this morning went fairly well. Was fairly busy day in the OR apparently, so took a little longer then anticipated to get me in, but wasn't anything too huge. They did another x-ray of course to see where the stone was to blast it and also to see if it'd moved enough to instead pass it naturally. Apparently, the reason I hadn't felt that much pain...was cause the damn thing hadn't moved at all, despite how much I'd been drinking water and pissing out, so yeah, no way of avoiding the procedure.
Took them a few tries to get the IV's into the top of my hands, but that always seems to happen with IVs in those veins. Very nice staff too, Riverside since the remodel has done a lot to change their image around here and I'll give 'em credit, its a much better hospital then it was before. Anyway, IV got some liquid going in me, since I hadn't had any water since around 11:30pm last night and was kind dehydrated, so that helped feel a little better. About 20min after that, I'm getting wheeled into the OR and literally as soon as they moved me into place on the table, that's all I remember. Next thing I know I'm gasping as I wake up cause apparently they needed to put an oxygen tube in my throat so it was sore as shit. Side hurt like hell too, but no shit, they just blasted my side with ultra sonic sound waves, I'd almost be more worried if it didn't. Still have a little bit of nausea from the anesthesia, but that's subsiding pretty quick thankfully and I was able to keep a whole meal down for lunch.
The stone is powder now, so basically today I get to spend all day drinking water and lemonade and pissing like a racehorse. They said it'd be 24 to 48 before I'd get it all out, but from what I've done so far, I'm figuring more on the 48hr time frame. Gonna probably be changing a lot of things as a result of this, being my second one, its not an experience I ever want to go through again...again. I'm gonna keep to it this time as well, to get myself healthier, its something I keep pushing myself toward and this one was helluva kick in the ass to get started on it.
So ends this saga, might post something in the next few weeks when I go back to the urologist, find out exactly what that fucker was made of. Until then, word of advice out there folks; Take fucking care of yourself, you may feel fine, but you ain't invincible, none of us are.

Kidney Stone Mk. II - Part II
Posted 12 years agoWell went to the urologist on Wednesday after a day of no real pain aside from the normal soreness. Thinking this was a good thing, 'hey, maybe a day of pain or so like last time and then I'll piss it out, no problem, then back to normal life'. Unfortunately that isn't the case =\
Turns out the stone had just started to enter into the utterer, the actual tubing between the kidney and the bladder, which is where is actually causes the pain when it comes to passing a kidney stone. Not only that, but he showed me the x-ray and the damn thing is triangular instead of circular, so if I tried passing it on my own, he said it could take anywhere from a week to a friggin' month!
That being said, I'm going back to the hospital on Tuesday for the lithotripsy [yes spell check, that is a word] procedure to get it broken up. Anyone who doesn't know what that is, its commonly referred to as the sonic wave procedure, where basically they blast the area with high intensity sonic waves to break the fucker up.
I'm honestly fine with this, considering the pain and possibility of this thing fucking with my life for up to a month before I pass it, I'll take this route any day, especially after last night. I made the mistake of trying to work on Thursday and while I was fine while I was AT work for the most part, as soon as I got home and my body got over the stress and whatnot, it was pain city, had to take a percocet to knock myself out, so yeah, Tuesday can't come quick enough at this point for me.
Till part 3 folks. Hopefully the last, though I'll probably do a 4 with final visit to urologist and whatnot.

Kidney Stone Mk. II
Posted 12 years agoWhee, well this morning sucked.
Woke up today around 6, stomach bothering the shit out of me. Will spare the details, but after I took care of that, I laid back down to try and get a little more sleep before waking up at 8 for work.
Well body apparently decided that wasn't going to happen. Soon as I laid back down, my side started too hurt with a pain that was unfortunately all too familiar. Sat there for an hour sipping water and breathing deep, hoping it was just a muscle cramp or something like that but sadly, it wasn't the case. Had to poke my head into my roommates room and have him take me over to the local ER.
A few hours and tests later, 5mm left ureteral calcusus, which is fancy for you got a 5mm hunk of calcium stone traveling down the tiny little tube from your left kidney to your bladder, enjoy! Goddamn genes...I'm pretty sure this is mostly hereditary, my dad gets a stone every year or so, so yay for that getting passed down, granted I should probably clean up the way I eat and drink a bit too, as I know I haven't been the best about that lately. Got an appointment nice and early tomorrow with a urologist to have them take a look, see if I can pass it or it needs to be soniced.
Will keep things posted on here. Until this thing passes, its percocet in jacket pocket when I go to work, THAT should be fun x.x

PS4
Posted 12 years agoFinally was able to pick on up today, huzzah!
Yay for cool GMs. I've had to work the opening and selling of the consoles every Sunday that we've had them in stock at the store [I work at Best Buy], so every friggin' time I'd had to watch the stock last til like 30min before I'm off to where I could buy one only to have people come snag the last couple. Well my GM and supe knew I'd been wantin' one of these things, so they told me during a bit of a downtime that if I wanted one, to go take my break and snag one. And well, thats exactly what I did!
Haven't gotten her set up yet cause of nutty fucking scheduling basically having me pass out as soon as I got home today. Worked til past midnight on Saturday and I do our ad set [putting out the new tags for the week] early Sunday mornings. Well, when you open at 7am cause of weird ass holiday hours, that means 5am-2:30pm after getting off around 12:30am on Saturday. Wheeeee.
But yesh, woots and stuff! PS4!

Posted 12 years agoAnother year, another update to my journal, sounds about right.
27 years old, man this one snuck up on my ass too. Didn't honestly realize it was right around the corner til last week, woke up early for my 6am shift on Sundays and hit my calender on my phone when I went for my alarm, realized how soon it was XD
As for me? Not much has changed in a year, still working at Best Buy getting dicked around and bent over when it comes to moving up position wise. Possibly might be another full time spot opening but knowing my luck the dumbasses will give it to another person who they will then watch backfire in their faces.
Enough negative shit though, this is a birthday journal after all! I'm doing pretty good with the weight loss I told myself I needed to do, thanks heavily in part to dropping soda out of my diet. Still doing energy drinks occasionally for morning shifts, but been trying to cut down on those or at least stay away from the heavy sugar ones. Life has kinda leveled out for me as well, whether one takes that as good or bad is up to the eye of the beholder I guess. Some personal stuff has ended, and while I'm sad about it, it has opened up the door for other things to maybe take hold that I'm potentially excited about. Time will tell how things will go, hopefully next years birthday journal will be bringing more good news. Or hell, maybe something will happen that will have me post one BEFORE a year *gasp!* Only time will tell. Anyway, time for me to enjoy this day, traded shift at work to get it and thursday off, so plan on just enjoying it to the fullest and doing, well, whatever the hell I want, cause its mah burfday!
Later peeps.

NFS: Most Wanted PS3 anyone?
Posted 13 years agoJust picked it up the other day and my roomie and I are having a blast with it and its freeroaming multiplayer, but it can take up to 8 people at once and some of the races/challenges are obviously geared toward a lot more then two people, so we're wondering if any PS3ers out there have it and would like to play? Gimme a holler and I'll give ya my PSN name and we can set something up!
WTF weekend?! What'd I ever do to you?
Posted 13 years agoWell this weekend, which is already gonna suck cause of work stuff, just got a whole lot suckier. [Is that a word? Don't care right now]
Playing 4 player Mass Effect 3 co-op with my friends on my PS3, going perfectly fine, gold match we were about to finish too. Then my PS3 decides to freeze...sucky, but oh well, just some credits lost on the match. Restart the system, dum de dum, wait for it to boot up, nothing wrong. Whats this, the game disc isn't showing up as selectable...that's odd. Lemme eject and put it back in. Still not showing up, that's weird....WTF was that noise?!? Sounded like the PS3 just tried to eject the game for no reason.
A little forum searching later, and I learn that it basically means the optical drive on my PS3 [the blu-ray one specifically, since DVDs read fine] is either on its way out shortly or just kicked the fucking bucket. May last me a little bit longer with heat being an issue, but everything I read says that even if it starts to work again, it'd be temporary. Needless to say, I'm rather pissed at this as I just got and have been playing the Ratchet and Clank Collection and was anticipating Borderlands 2 on Sept. 18th, but well, kinda hard to do that now eh?
Friends have all told me to check on getting it sent to support and whatnot, but it brings up the question to me...if support is gonna be $100-200....should I just see how much I could get things off with my discount at work [Best Buy] for a (slightly) newer model anyway?
Ugh...I blame you
Zarphus for our little joke argument while playing Borderlands earlier today on PC vs. Console...it was listening and got angry! >_>

Posted 13 years agoWell time for one of my two yearly updates it seems and its May 1st, so you know what that means, its that time again, number 26! =o
Rather nice birthday so far.
ShagsterP is here visiting from Cali so that we can look at places around Newport News to finally get his ass over here. And with him..well he brought with him for me something that admittedly made me squee in real life when he gave it to me, something I've wanted to awhile now....my very own N7 hoodie....squeeeeeeeeeeee....so of course it was also 80 degrees on my birthday so no showing if off...yay for bouncy Virginia weather.
Other big gift is one you'll probably be seeing the result of on my page in the near future. Parents agreed to help me fiance getting a Nikon D5100 DSLR that I've been drooling after for awhile now.
Oh yeah, and Hayden got me vodka. Comrades! =3
Thanks to everyone for the b-day wishes, I'm gonna go play with my camera now >_>

Stupid piece of shit fired me yesterday and didn't really give me a reason. Apparently I made too many 'mistakes' as a manager. Funny, I remember mentioning to him THAT I NEVER HAD ANY FUCKING MANAGING EXPERIENCE WHEN YOU HIRED ME FOR THE FUCKING MANAGING JOB YOU STUPID FUCK.
*coughs and collects self* Any mistakes I made, I fixed and made sure never to make again, so this is just more of his stupid backassward bullshit spewing from his horrible sounding singing mouth.
Whatever, its over, I have people that I worked with while with him that will probably do referrals for me. I'll find something. Least I get to sleep in for a while....

Ahhh irony...
Posted 15 years agoAgain, anyone that knows about my boss's intelligence level will understand this better.
The other day, I was listening to Pandora while my boss was in the room and Guns & Roses came on. I made the comment that Axle Rose looks like he's on something. This got my boss going on a holier-than-thou drug rant that seemed to eventually focus on pot. How pot is a gateway, etc. etc...which then strangely at the end turned to him saying it wasn't that bad. I think thats a new record for him backtracking on something he said...literally like 2 sentence difference before he went back on the comment...
Anyway, why is this ironic? He goes on an against-pot rant......then releases his debut album....on 4/20....
His complete and utter obliviousness and stupidity never ceases to amaze me these days.

Snow
Posted 16 years agoAlright, anyone who lives in Northern VA probably knows where I'm coming from with this....I'm so fucking done with this snow shit. Fuck wintery wonderland and give me 80 degrees and sunny. This is the 3rd storm in as many weekends and now that I'm working again, I don't want to spend what little time I have away from the utter dumbass I work for to be shoveling goddamn snow! (Dumbass boss rant is still building...though I'm sure the only ones who would probably read my journals are those who've already heard said rant over IMs)
I know I'm ranting over something stupid here, but it's downright fuckinf annoying at this point. Especially when my rants have to be written on my iPhone because the fucking storm knocked our cable out, and therefore our Internet...the day before the Super Bowl no less....gotta love this shit, eh?

Oh that college time of the year...
Posted 16 years agoBut not for me, for I has my slip of paper after 5 years that says "U R SMRT!".
Its been so weird having almost everyone I know and talk to going back to school and me not. I guess its all part of that post grad surrealness popping back up.
Still sucks for me though job wise, worse f-ing time to graduate and try and get into job market. Hell, I even had to move back in with the folks.
But yeah, I need people to talk to since all of you damn kids are on campus all day now D=

That is all.
Um yeah...my old game reviews...
Posted 17 years agoWow...just for shits and giggles, I decided to read some of my old game reviews.
Now I regret it.
Did I seriously write those?!? Granted I haven't put anything up to show that my writing skills have gotten any better, but jesus fuck...I didn't know I was THAT bad back then.
Being a political science major, all I do now a days is write. Reading that made my eyes bleed. Anyone who says you don't learn/grow in college is talking out of their ass, I can attest to that!
D:<
Edit: Oh yeah, for all those who know me on SL, I'm gonna post a lot of my updated avatars next time I get some L$ on me. Ya know, just so I actually have crap on this page XD
