The End. And the Future!

It's been ~3 or so years since the last post here, and I know that's been frustrating for fans, GMs, and agents. I would like to give a deep apology for not at least keeping people updated. I tried showing some of those issues in 2016 but even after schooling cleared up I just let it go to the wayside.
Here's a bit of what happened- first there was the schooling, where I took 2015 off to focus on that, and into 2016. That would have been fine, people seemed on board with that, but then nothing else happened. It turns out that for a while, I had lost the files for the 2014 season because the laptop they were on crapped out. Now good news on that front, I have the files again so that's at least fine.
So the loss of the files and the life issues essentially lost mental momentum. I've got some issues there that are being looked into but it sometimes results in a big lack of momentum even on projects. That's not an excuse, merely just an explanation.
So though this isn't entirely needed- there's some decisions that were made in the last year or so. The FLB- unfortunately- is a finished project.
But there's a fiery phoenix in this tale of ashes.
Last year, as you can see from some of the comments on old posts, there was a project that was starting up, the Federal Furry Baseball League. I was trying to migrate the assets there as some of the people involved with GMing here were starting that up, but that seemed to blank out.
Which is why I was happy in January to see
uflb starting up. I'm not sure if that was a reworking of the FFBL or what, but I have officially been in the works with the Commish there to merge the FLB assets with them, which was received enthusiastically. They've been active in their Discord and I'm very confident we'll get the 2019 season off the ground right on time. I'm not going to end up the commish there, just helping with some background in merging the FLB stuff over, and from there I'll be a GM and help out as needed.
The storyline will go that instead of a strike in 2015, they were able to avoid one barely, but it put the FLB on severe monetary issues. They shed players and were barely able to hold the 12 teams together when it folded completely in 2018. Where the UFLB storyline goes is being determined, but they are interested in reviving teams from the FLB and the process is to carry over (with their agents' agreement) most players that were 30 or younger in 2014. We have at least two teams that are being carried over so far and over 200 players in the potential works; it's very exciting to see the assets being used again. I simmed the last four years and will post the final awards and playoffs at the end of this joural for people interested.
If you have questions/comments as a former FLB player agent, GM, or even a fan, Please contact the Commish at
uflb. They'll be happy to get in touch with you, and we can always use the new interest. (Note: Though the UFLB and FLB will be considered to be in the same universe, nothing is in absolute- if you feel that you wanted something created for FLB withdrawn from the carryover please let us know, I have never been the sort to hold onto things ruthlessly! We would just like to know sooner rather than later so we can make sure it doesn't cause a hiccup.)
Thank you very much for your interested in the FLB and furry sports in general. It may have been a small community but it was still a hell of a ride. I'm looking forward to the future, and will always cherish the past.

As discussed, here is the awards and Furry World Series winners from 2014-2018. I don't believe I ever posted the award winners in 2014. After 2014 I didn't list the Rookie of the Year awards since those would have been computer generated players. It's interesting to note that between the two years played in 2013-14 (NOR and CHA respectively) and the final four simmed in 2015-18 that we didn't have a repeat winner! (PDX won in 2010 and CHA repeated in 2011-12 as previously simmed years.)

2016 Thoughts

As some people may have known, I've been going to school, which is why I ended up cancelling the 2015 season. It wasn't the best decision as the momentum we've built so far got shot (and I still didn't post the final 2014 stats as promised). What I've been going back to school for is to be a teacher, and that will wrap up in June.
I'm tentatively thinking that if I do this, the regular season will start in July, with the usual 80 games that's been. Without the pressure of going back to school on top of teaching, I theoretically should be able to devote some free time to But keep in mind that teaching tends to be a 24/7 profession, and with lesson planning and grading it will eat into a lot of my time. I may have to end up doing things like compiling the games and do a weekly report, or just post the results on the page instead of doing a full writeup.
As to the players, the real sticking point is that there are quite a few players that need to retire, as they're in their late 30s and early 40s, but I don't have the time currently to devote to creating a whole new rookie class for a draft. While leagues such as the FBA and FHL have had massive support in fans creating new rookies for their leagues, I haven't had that same level of support in the two years of the FLB, meaning that it's fallen to me in order to create stats and personalities that are interesting and draft-worthy. One idea that I can do is if I don't have all the teams supported, I can cut two and disperse players out, and that will solve the rookie issue.
One thing I will do for interest if I start up again is that I will make it a long-term project for coming up with head-shots through Fursona Maker for all characters, minus those who already have art for them. I understand that part of the blah with the whole shebang is that the players are largely faceless pieces of text, with only a few handfuls written up with personality or pictures. This is largely due to not having a lot of money to put in for art and having lackluster skills myself.
I need thoughts of fans, GMs and player agents. Would people want there to be a 2016 season and what would you be ok with being without if I have to operate it in a reduced format? I welcome suggestions for practically anything, even if people have any ideas of what they would want to do to help. Thanks for your time, and I'll have a decision quickly, I just need input.

2015 Season Plus 3 needed for Fantasy League!
General | Posted 10 years agoA recent move by the owners and commissioner to change how officials have caused a severe roadblock for the 2015 season. Changes to the pay structure and benefits in the contract of the FLB officials have been found too low for the union. While this does not affect the player contract as they have a CBA signed two years ago that runs through 2019, several union reps have threatened to strike along with the officials in a sympathy move.
Officials with the FLB are noting that if a strike happens, the season is in jeopardy.

FLB Update- Where the **** have I been?
General | Posted 10 years agoHey there everyone! GM of the FLB here- I would like to give a heartfelt apology as to the silence I've been going through the last few months. Things at the home base have been completely screwed up- I had to go through the stress of the holiday season in my job, and then as soon as that abated I was getting the paperwork together to apply for grad school, and literally a few days after that I was fired from my job. So now I'm in the middle of job hunting/arguing with unemployment while waiting on my interview for grad school.
And to be honest, I should have been posting this when it happened instead of gathering a huge journal. I realize I've been terrible in time management over the couple of years of this project. I can certainly give the excuse that it's been one or two people (thanks Ketch!) doing things, but that doesn't excuse me just up and dropping off the earth once the WWS was complete.
Which comes to now. It's nearly March, I know I still haven't gotten the awards posted from last year (though in a couple of categories it should be quite obvious who won *sideways glance to a particular foxtaur*) I'm late on announcing whether or not there's going to be a draft! I haven't touched base with my GMs to see if i need to replace any!
Ultimately, I need to make a decision. I have grad school that should be coming up in June, and that will put a bit of a crimp on free time- due to the late start it's coming down to these two options:
1. Take a year off, come up with a strike storyline and come back refreshed and ready to have a full 3+ round draft and 2016 season, keep in touch with old and new GMs to make sure that we have all 12 going forward.

There will be a slight delay on getting out Game 5- I will have to get it gong tomorrow due to getting home so late. After her poor performance in Game 1, Jane Howard all but demanded she be given the ball for the crucial Game 4. Though she was still rocked for four runs in a complete game performance, she dug her claws in deep to grind out the win. Her stellar performance was backed up by her team roaring to an early lead in the early innings, putting the gas to the engine and never letting up. Though there was a strong following from the Pioneers in Game 3, taking the lead in the 7th inning, the Bombers ground their way to a complete sweep in Portland. Ironically leading the charge was Graham Hollinger, one of the famed "Arsenal of Freedom" battery of the Pioneers taken in the expansion draft. Though the Pioneers tried to bring it to game 4, extending the game deep into the 13th inning, the Bombers ground out one final run before holding the game off, punching their ticket for the Wild World Series.

It was certainly a day showcasing former Pioneers pitching as the Swamp Foxes found themselves benefitting from their shrewd trading as Ryan Mansfield held off the Tikis' attempt at coming back, pushing them to the brink of elimination in next game. It was another game of small ball, with only a single home run leaving the park. Keith Veeck has had a shaky year and it was no more apparent as today's game, as he struggled through the game even with a slight lead behind him. Getting into trouble in the fourth inning, the Bombers roared to life with a three-run blast that brought them the lead, holding fast against the bats of the Pioneers who attempted to chip into the lead. But in the end even the strong bullpen of the Pioneers were no match to the Bombers, as the series moves to Portland on Wednesday.

The Bombers opened the 2014 FLB Playoffs with a grand spectacle, with the home fans cheering wildly for the expansion team that had exceeded expectations and more this season. The game began with a blast to match the opening fireworks, as they hung three runs on the new reigning ace of the Pioneers, Kumiho "Kyu-Ball" Kakashi (PDX/Kitsune/SP). The Pioneers answered back by the fourth inning, but the Bombers dug in and were rewarded with a solo home run in the eighth. Handing the ball to the league winner of the saves crown Jerry West, who closed it out with a 1-2-3 to give the Bombers their franchise first playoff win.
