School has started!
Posted 14 years agoWell, school has started for me, so I'll be drawing significantly less now that classes have started. It's the first weekend and I already have two projects and a pile of other homework.
If you're in my queue the art I owe you probably won't come for at least another week. Sorry for any inconvenience!

Free Arts
Posted 14 years agoWell, conditionally, that is. I set up a thread on the Black Market and got no response, and I've seen other people do this and thought "well, why not?"
I'm opening up slots for three icons or inked sketches in exchange for pimpage in a journal or something.
If there's a big response I'll open up two more slots.
So, yeah.

Gone fishing
Posted 14 years agoI will probably not be online over the next three weeks. I'm taking a summer course at a university that has limited internet access and I want to focus on the class instead of on the internet.
More good news (hey, I'm excited about three weeks of history class) is that my knee is almost all better. I can bike, at least.
The couples icon special is still on if anyone's interested.

$5.50 couples icon special!
Posted 14 years agoI've decided to have a summer-long special on couples icons- one set of 100x100 px icons plus the 4"x8" full size (sans watermark) for $5,50.
Each set will be similar to the icons provided as examples on the commission info sheet. Feel free to send a note if you're interested.

Pasta Part-ay!
Posted 14 years agoMy knee is almost completely healed! I can bend up to 45 degrees and put weight on it, but grrr the other knee is now shaky. Oh well.
Just spent the entire afternoon having a doodle battle with chalk with the sister and one of our friends. Why yes, we are very mature.
In other news, summer swim team is up and running! I'm now the oldest girl on the team, but the younger kids are all pretty awesome. It's hard to explain what anarchist means over and over though.
We're having a pasta party tonight to celebrate the start of the season, which is always one of the best parts. Woot woot!

FML
Posted 14 years agoMy kneecap popped out of its socket while I was doing the Time Warp tonight. It hurt like a bitch and now that it's back in I need 600 mg of aspirin every six hours. So totally NOT looking forward to when the dose they gave me wears off.
I have to figure out crutches and miss school and I am about ready to SCREAM, so it's pretty safe to say that I will be more interested in staring at the ceiling or watching children's television than drawing.
FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-

It's gonna be a crazy day
Posted 14 years agoI'm in my school's marching band, and today is going to be our hardest parade of the year. Let me explain.
Our high school serves two pretty small communities, but both have separate Memorial Day parades. The one on Sunday is at one in the afternoon over a two mile stretch in woolen uniforms.
Not to mention there's all this drama over the director's drum major pick for next year... ten bucks says the bus ride over will be "interesting".

Happy Easter, yo!
Posted 14 years agoMy sister wrapped up her fourth year as the Easter bunny at our town's egg hunt (she talks to me while she's in costume, but not to the kids; to explain why I'm talking to her I tell the kids I speak bunny). It rained, but about twenty kids were there who all loved the bunny.
Helped out with another egg hunt today at my friend's Unitarian Universalist church. I liked the service and I'm thinking about going back next week.
So in other news
krazinik's raffle is wrapping up tonight; there's still time to buy tickets! All the information is in her journal. The tickets are $1 each and the prizes are pretty sweet!
Have a happy Easter/Passover/Beltane and or spring, everyone!

Help a doggy, win prizes
Posted 14 years agoA few days ago,
krazinik's dog was severely injured as a result of suspected animal cruelty and needs surgery in order to live the happy, healthy life a good dog deserves. The bills are pretty steep for her and her mom, so krazinik has started a raffle hoping to raise money for the vet bills.
Tickets, which are $1 each (that's right, folks), get you in the running to win oodles of awesome prizes.
These include some pretty awesome art by
krazinik (badges and bookmarks and drawings and sketches, oh my!), a hang tag badge by
foxfairy, a knitted plushie by
jelliebean and some art from yours truly.
All of the money raised will go to helping krazinik's dog.
So in summation: help a dog, get awesome art.
I see nothing wrong with that.

Commission Info/Pricing/Etc.
Posted 14 years agoI already posted a little journal on this, but I thought I'd go into some detail. I'm now open for commissions and offer illustrations, badges, (maybe) icons, flats, sketches, and chibis.
Pricing:
$2-5 for a sketch depending on how many characters and whether or not you want a background
The example here would be like $4. Colored sketches (example here) are pretty much an add one dollar deal.
$4-8 for a badge (digitally made; phyiscally laminating/shipping extra unless you want to print it yourself). The example here would be $6.
$3-6 for a basic lineart/flat kind of deal. The price is pretty much how much the sketch version of the picture plus one or two bucks. The example here would be $3.
Chibis are $4 per character, no background. Don't ask me why I'm being specific with this one. Example here.
Illustrations are $8-10. Example here.
I'm also playing around with the idea of quilt badges. Update later on that.
Regarding payment:
I accept money through Paypal and Western Union money transfers. In the case of Western Union, I'll split the transaction costs with you (about $5 if you do it online). Since I have a personal account on Paypal at the moment, there are no transfer costs at this point.
I'll also accept DeviantPoints, since who hates prints, really?
Reply to this journal, send me a note, or e-mail me at fletchprintdesign[at]gmail.com if you're interested.
On a totally different note, I found out some girls in my math class call me "Kitty" because I draw on my math notes all the time, usually cats.
Still trying to figure out if I should be flattered or insulted.

So I've been thinking...
Posted 14 years ago...about starting to do commissions. I'm strapped for cash right now and have noticed people showing interest in requesting art from me. For those who have requested art, no worries: I'll definitely still do your stuff for free.
I wasn't planning on charging much; maybe $2 or a comparable amount of deviantpoints for a nice sketch, and up to $8 for a fully colored/shaded illustration.
I'd like to go to cons or buy a nice set of copic markers, to be honest :)
Would anyone be interested in commissioning me? If not, I'll just stick to doing requests and trades, I guess.

Spring has sprung!
Posted 14 years ago...sorta. The bulbs in the yard are just starting to poke up and I'm seeing buds on the trees.
I've been sick for the past week and just started getting better today :) I went to school, felt like crap, but at least I could see my friends.
Trying to become more active on FA as I gear up to try and go to FA United this year (although it's probably going to be similar to last year where I can't go). Next year is a definite for me, though, since I'll be able to drive myself and my sister has expressed interest in going with me.
If anyone wants a badge for FA or any other con... I might be interested ;)

About Friendship
Posted 15 years agoI have made some very good friends that I have never seen at all. Let me explain: fanfiction.net introduced me to a lovely group of people who were smart, funny, nice... pretty much the coolest people around. I met them at a rather sour patch in my life and they kept me somewhat less crazy that I am usually.
So thanks, guys. I love you all lots and lots.
