YOO! So gonna try again with a round of commissions. My goal ultimately is to figure out how much I can take on and still keep a decent turnaround time, so I'm trying to keep things bitesized! I'll try and keep up with updating this journal with the progress of each commission too.

Hope everyone has been well! :D Been busy crafting and arranging summer adventures myself. Working on 3 costumes right now with a possible forth to happen, perhaps. x.x If there's time!

Was bummed out yesterday to find out the the weekend of Eurofurence falls on the same weekend as a local music festival and my workplace's vacation allowance has been booked solid on that one Saturday. :C I was flat out denied it and understandably so. Gonna write up a big ole beggy letter to the management today offering to take that day as unpaid leave with a pre-arranged cover for my shift, so fingers crossed! Would be super gutted to have to cancel EF for the sake of one busy work afternoon. I really feel if worse came to worse I'd just say sod it and call in sick that whole week. They'd know what was really up but the worst that can happen is a disciplinary, pfff. URRGHH WE'LL SEE, WISH ME LUCK!

I have a lot of adventures planned for the coming months, actually. I'm visiting the Netherlands again for a few days but also heading to New York afterwards! AS SUCH, I have a LOT of savings to make!

Some useful info for my front page might be that I'm changing my commission process from the usual slots + queue to just opening one or two at a time as and when I can. I feel that will suit me better and cut down on wait time and burn out, and I can open for things I feel most confident for at that moment in time. I've been trying for ages to find a system that suits me so gonna see how this goes for a while. :P

I'll rotate the announcements between my facebook page, twitter page and here, but keep all my profiles updated with where the next opening will be posted. The first one will pop up on Facebook hopefully in a few days!

Hey guys! :D

The main purpose of this journal is just to let my last commission people know that I'll do my best to get their drawings done before the 24th, if required! But I'll likely run over that deadline with one or two. My extra retail hours + the events happening this month have slowed me down a lot and next week especially when Icky is over I'll be even slower than normal with art. Please let me know asap if you want your picture for any particular deadline this month! I can't guarantee it but I'll definitely do my very best!

If you're taking part in any sort of celebration this month then I hope you all have a really lovely time at it and I hope you get to share lots of laughs with friends and families. :D My own household is doing Christmas with Ickles and my brother and his girlfriend are spending the day with us too again this year so that'll be pretty nice. December is always a month of fancy foodies and family get togethers since my birthday falls in this month too so LOTS OF CAKE AND HAPPY TUMMIES ALL AROUND.

Just some ramblings. I'm writing a lot of journals lately. Been using the site more at the moment and chatting to people so feeling talky.

Artists I really love keep opening for commissions lately but I need to promise myself that I'll finish my dragon's ref sheet and stop punishing people with the messy WIP one. ;u; Gaaah. It's so hard though, there's so much great art around. Apologies if I've made you work with my stupid overly detailed dragon design without a proper reference. ;u; SOON Flint will have a proper finished ref.

I also finally lurked Twitter long enough to succumb and make an account, though there's nothing there yet. I'll hopefully get more into using that site too and post a few cool WIPs of various things I'm working on. Most likely crafts and sketches and stuff. @ gatorblits is me, feel free to keep in touch over there if you wish!

I'm very close to the end of my old commission list, I think there's only 3 names left, then I'll open for some more slots. I just wanted to make sure I have a nice clear slate before the fresh batch as I hop too often from one project to another and my attention wavers. Got a trade and a couple of paintings to finish up, eep. Not sure if they'll all be done by the end of November like I wanted but we'll have to see. I'm trying to work on getting art done faster since my rate at the moment is waaaaaaay too slow. :c Thank you to everyone who has waited on art from me so far with your patience of steel. I've been blessed with very lovely, patient clients so far!

Sorry for the VERY random question!

For anyone who has experience working with the DF shag furs and has seen the "neon yellow" in person: Does it look bright yellow or more of a light orange? I'm having an awful time trying to find a nice golden orange fur for that matches the orange on  ickylemur's character!

Light orange is so difficult to find in furs and fleece it seems! I wanna make cute stuff but all the orange materials I find are more of the darker reddish traffic cone orange.

I'm not anticipating too many responses, haha, but thanks for any and all advice!

Hey all!

I'm back from the convention I was preparing for the past few weeks! It was MCM Expo or London Comic Con or whatever you want to call it. It was my first suiting experience so definitely an interesting weekend for me!

I always go with my convention buddies though this time we were all dressed from different fandoms so while we spent a lot of time together, we also did a bit of stuff on our own and mingled with others. If we met at the furmeet at the con, please drop me a message! I'd really like to find and keep in touch with people!

As for my first suiting experience, it gave me a lot of insight into how to construct my next one better to make it more wearable. One of the biggest mistakes I made in the mask was not hollowing out the muzzle! So this meant that on the first couple of days I couldn't wear it for more than perhaps 30 minutes at a time before I felt I needed to take a break and breathe properly. On the Saturday night I took a craft knife to the inside and hacked some space into it, and the difference was incredible. I could also now fit a bottle in there so I could drink without removing my head. :D I also need to look into making proper outdoor feet as I had to cope with just walking on the shoes themselves for the time being. I realised that I don't have a clue how to securely attach rubber soles. The shoe glue was hopeless!

As for the non technical stuff, suiting outside on the Sunday was awesome. Unlike the Saturday, there was no rain so I romped around for quite a while, even spending some time on my own wandering around. I was surprised that a lot of children interacted with me (only one of them cried!), and one kid even had a blast stealing my inflatable banana and watching this fuzzy monster lemur creature shake his fists at the air in anguish at the futile attempts at catching the runaway fruit. My mask ended up with a toothy, angry monster face so I did worry that it was a bit frightening to look at, but people seemed to enjoy him anyway!

The convention itself is always an extremely busy, overcrowded one, although this time they took extra measures to make it more difficult for people without ticket to get in. This might be a bummer for some but personally I was thankful the drunken troublemakers were absent this time and there was much more space to run around, making the con more enjoyable for me this time. If it wasn't for the nearby hotels also becoming strict about the ages of the people staying in their rooms (I didn't even know the 4 bed rooms HAD to be 2 adults 2 children, I thought it was just 4 people and that was that. :( My friend had to sleep elsewhere which sucked majorly) it might have been a favourite con so far for me.

SO YEAH just wanted to share that fuzzy experience with you guys! I really wanna try my hand at building some more, better costumes soon so expect more suit stuff in my scraps sometime!

SUPER thank you everyone I spoke to and hung out with at the con! :D It was fun! I hope to see some of you again! Would love to try Confuzzled or Eurofurence next year maybe!

So yeh that's fixed! I called them about the issue and asked if they could remove my details and let me start fresh. It's rejecting my debit card for now but I need a new one anyway. So that's all good. ovo

I recommend anyone who lost their PayPal account through being underage when they signed up; give them a bell! It's freephone now from UK house phones so that's all good! :D Used to cost an arm and a leg before to get in touch with them and the hold times used to be horrendous...my calls lasted about 5 minutes each though.

So glad I don't have to open a new bank account, phew! Thanks everyone though for all the suggestions for alternatives!

Just a heads up to the few who were on my commission waiting list that I can't use PayPal anymore! :c I'm hunting around for an alternative that I can use here in the UK that'll take international currencies but so far I'm not having much luck.

Future commissions will have to be through bank transfer for now I think until something else is sorted. If this is a problem to anyone waiting on some drawings from me, then please let me know and I can apologise profusely and take you off my list!

Update: A friend last night linked me to a discussion on PayPal's message boards that stated they will actually let you start fresh with a new account if you contact them, so I'm going to be looking into that some more.

I've had quite the influx of new commissions the past couple of days! Where did you all come from?!

I'm going to have to turn away new ones for the time being, and work through this list a bit else I fear the wait for anyone else will start to become ridiculous.

Depending on the type of commission, they can take me anywhere between 3 days for a simple one and a week for something painted, more if multipe characters are involved. If you're waiting for a commission from me you can watch your name creep slowly to the top right over here:
