I am so going.. anyone else coming to Kami-Con? I know a few artists on DA are listed on the official site, but I was wondering if anyone else was coming!
RIP Grandma
Posted 17 years agoI woke up this morning to find out that sometime between 8:30 and 9 AM my grandmother finally passed away. She was just over 96, so she did get to live a long life, and I know she was ready but it's still hard. I never was that close to her once I got older, because I wasn't really around her much. I think the last time I even saw her was around 6 years ago when she still lived in my town in one of the nursing homes and she wanted to see me before I went off on my sr trip to NY and I figured why not and went over there. She's not been in good health as long as I can remember, even the pictures of her and I from when I was really young she was using a cane, and as far back as I can remember she was always in a wheel chair. The last few years she had gotten to where she couldn't see and couldn't hear good either, and I guess I couldn't stand seeing her like that. I kinda feel guilty about not going with my parents when they went to visit her, and I feel bad for my dad because he looks so sad, and I'm sure he is. Just, if you pray, pray for the family as they go through this, I know its hard on them.

Well its finally over

Anyway, the elections are over. I'm honestly glad, I started out being behind someone, but it got to the point of everything online, on TV, and on the radio was about nothing but the election. Yes, a very important thing indeed. I've been reading a lot of what people have to say about the fact that Obama won, some positive some negative. Some completely batshit insane saying things like love him or gtfo of the country, but then again that's normal. I only have one thing to ask people who say that. Did you love Bush? No? Then why didn't you leave when he was in "control".
The only real thing I can say is people need to pray for the country, no matter who you pray to. I don't say that because Obama won either, I would be saying if McCain won too. Hopefully he can do something about the screwed up economy, but it won't be overnight. It took a long time to get this screwed up, and it'll take a long time to fix.
One thing people seem to forget though, the President, while he does have some power, he doesn't do EVERYTHING and CAN'T do most things on his own. Yet somehow everything that is wrong they blame Bush, they don't think of all the members of Congress, the House, the Senate, and all the other little government people running around that helped make everything fucked up, nope it's all Bush's fault. Even things he can't even possibly control like the weather. Maybe that blaming finger will be one of the things that Obama changes.
I'm just glad its over. No more of all those damn attack ads and flashing ad banners :XD: Now we just gotta put up with all the ignorant people who wanna say this or that about Obama because of race. Ugh that'll be another few months.

When did furries and anthros become weird?
Posted 17 years agoThe past few days I've been watching Darkwing Duck, and it got me thinking. When did anthros and furries become weird? If we think of it, some of the most popular TV programming of all times have been anthro characters. Even all the way back to when movies and TV were fairly new, we had Mickey Mouse, and as time progressed he gained friends. Other mice, ducks, dogs, and so on, I’m not even sure how many characters there are in that family.
Fast forward to when I was young, I’m 24 now so think late 80’s/early 90’s. Then we had shows such as Tail Spin, Darkwing Duck, Sonic The Hedgehog (the one with Jaleel White as the voice.. only good sonic series in my opinion), Duck Tales, Thundercats, and more, I just can’t think of them off the top of my head. We even had a little children’s show called “Zoobilee Zoo” where they dressed up as anthros. Everyone accepted it, no one was weird for liking it.
Yet now, while there are still movies like that, it’s not as popular as it used to be, at least it doesn’t seem to be to me. And if you’re found to like that sorta thing you end up being shunned..

Posted 17 years agoWell, after my really surprising response to my last journal.. I'm not gonna give up on art but I am gonna take a hiatus from it. I might upload some random photos from time to time but I'll still be around to comment and of course fav-whore! Yes, if it moves I will fave it XD
Anyway the point in this journal is well I've been listening to the same.. erm 654 songs for a few years now. Some have been added and others removed but.. most of them I've heard so many times I need new songs! So I'm asking people to recommend a song or even a few that they really like! The only restriction I guess you could say is I'm really not into rap, but any other genre I like pretty much at least ONE song of. So give me a shout! :D

Posted 17 years agoI'm at a point right now that I don't know what to do. I feel totally unartistic, and honestly in a way I want to leave FA because.. well I guess cuz there are things here I just don't wanna see.. but I don't wanna leave cuz theres a lot of great art here and I love spending time at the site.
More or less though.. my question is.. should I continue to try art? Right now I don't draw very well, better than some but definately not the best, or even close. As far as other things, my photos have gotten more artistic but when I look at my camera I don't even wanna pick it up. It's laying on the piano where I left it after taking the Mario stock pics, and I havn't touched it since. As far as model kits, well I have several, and I picked one up the other day and opened it.. and kinda just stared at it.. I went through with soaking it to get the old terrible looking paint off.. but after doing that instead of working on it I just cleaned it up and put it right back in the box. I have no motivation, no drive. I just wanna know if anyone would really care if I stopped doing my art.

Reassembling the universe (update)
Posted 17 years agoI had the weirdest day... earlier today I was sitting here talking to 
takuminanashi and suddenly I started getting really really cold even though it was a pretty nice temp out. So I was just like ugh I'm freezing I'm gonna lay down and no matter how long I lay under the nice thick covers it was still cold.. so after I got off the phone with her I got up to take my temp. I could barely walk, barely talk, and i couldn't even see straight. WTF I was thinking. After tryin several things to warm me up, mostly a hot shower, I was warm again but I couldn't see good and I had a massive headache, so I chose to lay down and talk to Heather some more on the phone with my eyes closed.. after I slept and then ate a little I felt a lot better but still had a headache.. like migraine. No matter what i took it wouldn't stop.
This was weird in itself.. but then I went to bed. I had been fine except the headache but as soon as my body relaxed enough to go to sleep the trembling started again.. WTF is wrong with me.. I kept thinking.. like oh if I feel this way in the morning I'm SO calling off work. I kept waking up off and on but every time it felt like *something* was clicking into place little by little.. like my brain was being used for something.. and finally about 12 hours here after it started, I feel completely normal again (though I'm hot cuz of the thick covers >D) ... So now I go back to bed, hoping I sleep good for the last 4 hours b4 I have to get up.
wtf happened to me today. O_o

Okay ... at 3:30 when I wrote this I felt A LOT better.. I woke up this morning at 6:30 to go to work and my mom was like asking how I was and she felt my forehead and said I felt really hot.. so I took my temp and it was 103.3 F :O Yeah gotta go to the doctor.

So anyway, why is the internet invading the TV now? Used to the only time a website or whatever was advertised, it was for a business, or maybe a job thing. Anyway lately I've been seeing more and more banner ads turned into comercials. First there was annoying comercials for the Zwinky, blasting their tune (along with flashing lights) "Get zwinky get zwinkey!"..
And of course I'm sure we've all seen those annoying banner ads that flash/blink/yell that you've won a free iPod/iPhone/Xbox/PS3/etc well now they have a comercial for it. Get a free Xbox 360 by going to this website and participating (just like the banners) of course being calmly (yet somehow excitedly) told by someone that's between 25~30 yrs old. Yeah, how many idiots are gonna fall for it?
And now, if you live in alabama you may know of the Suzukiman. and lately he's been running a comercial like those annoying flash things, where is shows somthing peaceful and suddenly a big scary face jumps up and screams... just wtf >.>;

Posted 17 years agoSeriously what is world coming to? My friend who goes to college said they were havin some free food and this was what they were giving out. NRG Chips. It has a lot of the same ingrediants as energy drinks though.

Posted 18 years agoSo I quit my job yesterday. No more having to go in to Dollar General to work, which is good I think. In a way I hate to leave because if not for that job I never would've gotten to meet Heather in person, at least not so soon, but at the same time with recent mangment changes (both in my own store and in the whole company) its pretty much just time for me to move on. I could go into a big rant and rave about how horrible the company is (oh you wouldn't beleive it unless you were on the inside!) but honestly I left on sorta good terms. The manager didn't get mad about having to stay or anything, and she acted mostly civil to me so I'll just say its over.
Now I just gotta find somthing else...
And now, I officially start working at Target on Sunday. It's a little less pay (only a quarter >D) but more hours and a better place and just a better job so I'm happy. :D

Posted 18 years agoYeah, this is somthing I don't understand at all. When they edit a song for location. I'm not talking about when they edit out "bad" words (though that is annoying too), I mean when they actually change the words.
The song I think of off the top of my head is the song "Lucky Man" by Montgomery Gentry. I know there are more but its the most recent one I can think of. Anyway, they change one of the lines of the first verse for the location (Alabama). It's supposed to be:
"I have days where I hate my job
This little town and the whole world too
Last Sunday when the Bengals lost
Lord it put me in a bad mood"
of course they change it to:
"I have days where I hate my job
This little town and the whole world too
Last Sunday when my Tide lost
Lord it put me in a bad mood"
Which not only puts me in a bad mood cuz I pretty much HATE all the students that come in my store (they're seriously all stuck up and act like they're better than us, they did that way when I worked at Publix too!) it just seems retarded they think we can't like a song just cuz it doesn't mention our home team. Wrecked
Posted 18 years agoYeah I wrecked my car this past friday night (June 8th). I was comin home from work and a drunk guy pulled out in front of me, I hit him just behind the passenger door (he had a 1994 Tundra) and then coasted a lil ways and stopped. Kinda scary but we were both alright. I even got checked out today (even missed work ^^; ) but he gave me pain med and said yeah I'd be fine so its all good. We were lucky enough to already have a rental car provided too, so now I'll be driving a 2006 Toyota Matrix for a while. If you wanna see pics of thw wrecked car, the links are below.

Goodbye Freya
Posted 18 years agoI feel so empty.. but so very pissed off too. -_-
After almost two weeks of not seeing her, my dad found Freya laying dead under the old car in the back. I was laying here in bed half asleep, having just been woken up by some random somthing, and they told me so I was just like oh.. cuz I wasn't awake enough to have it hit me yet. Then when it actually did hit like maybe 5 min later I jumped up and put on some shoes and went outside. Well he had already put her in a hole and covered her with this tar paper stuff, saying it was just temporary until we could do somthing more permenate.
Well today I was going to do somthing more permenate for her, so when I got up I went outside and got a nice box out of my trunk and taped the bottom up nice and had a good bag to wrap it in after I put her in it to protect her once I put her in the ground. So I drove around back and dug a nice hole next to my room, so she'd still be close to me, and then I go and move the tar paper off the top of where he put her and I expected to see her, but nope, all I saw was dirt. They burried her, without asking me, next to that stupid old car. They didn't care enough to ask where I wanted to put her, or even if I wanted to help. They just did it themselves and it really just pisses me off. It's such a horrible place and she deserved better. Theres no way to get her out either because he's not sure where she starts and all that so we couldn't get her up without maybe hitting her and I don't wanna do that. She was the sweetest animal I ever met. She'd listen to me when I talked to her, I'd sing to her and she'd purr at me. She loved me like no animal ever has. I hate she's gone, She meant so much to me and still does. I just.. I dunno what I wanna do. I hate this .. I hate it so much
After almost two weeks of not seeing her, my dad found Freya laying dead under the old car in the back. I was laying here in bed half asleep, having just been woken up by some random somthing, and they told me so I was just like oh.. cuz I wasn't awake enough to have it hit me yet. Then when it actually did hit like maybe 5 min later I jumped up and put on some shoes and went outside. Well he had already put her in a hole and covered her with this tar paper stuff, saying it was just temporary until we could do somthing more permenate.
Well today I was going to do somthing more permenate for her, so when I got up I went outside and got a nice box out of my trunk and taped the bottom up nice and had a good bag to wrap it in after I put her in it to protect her once I put her in the ground. So I drove around back and dug a nice hole next to my room, so she'd still be close to me, and then I go and move the tar paper off the top of where he put her and I expected to see her, but nope, all I saw was dirt. Christmas Card Trade (deadline update)
Posted 19 years agoI've seen some other people do this.. and I think I may either be early or late saying it.. But this year I wanna do the trading thing with Christmas cards this year! So if anyone is interested send me a note and we can trade addresses. Or you can comment here either lol. I'm just not wanting to post my address out in the open like that ^^; I moved the deadline up a bit because of mailing times haha. Deadline for this is 12 Noon (CST) on December 7th, 2006, I'll be buying the cards either that afternoon or the next morning and will be sending them out on Friday, December 8th. It should get there in time if you live in the US/Canada :D
