Some updates since I last posted.

The good: Finally changed jobs after way too long with Albertsons. I've gotten into the restaurant biz and liking it way more than I would have expected. https://www.furaffinity.net/user/maggiecat87 and I celebrated 9 years of marriage together.

The bad: July of this year both of my parents passed away on the same night. Mom had been dealing with a recurring bladder infection for some time now, it had become the new normal for her. It would clear up and come back on repeat for a while. It just didn't seem that serious but her body just finally couldn't take anymore and it appeared that she passed in her sleep. From what the police gathered on the situation, Dad's heart gave out upon discovering that Mom had passed. He had heart problems in the past but had been doing fine up until he passed away, which made it all the more shocking when we got the news from the police after having to send out a medical check on them.

The ugly: This is the first holiday season after losing my mom and dad. December will forever be a terrible time for me, not just because of Christmas, but because my mom's birthday is December first. I'm doing the best I can to keep myself together. Our friends and family have been amazing in our time of need and I can never express my gratitude for them deeply enough. Some days are better than others and time will help in the long run, but it's only been 5 months. Taking it moment by moment and trying to focus on the positive points and be thankful for getting this far in life due to having such amazing people as my parents. I'm mostly ok, but not completely. A part of me is now missing without them in the world. But I'll carry on with the help of my wife and all our loved ones.

My friend/adopted sibling,  bizaara needs commissions badly. Biz and their fiance,  jeuri need to replace their moving funds before the end of the month so they can have a place to live. Any amount will be greatly appreciated, thanks, y'all!

Great friends/family, awesome wife, and an adorable cat. Life is good.

I feel like I've earned the right to toot my own horn a bit, as it were. I'm in a happy, healthy marriage, we'll be making 4 years together this August. We're doing pretty well all around. Speaking of wellness, I've actually gotten a bit healthier myself, recently. I dropped about 40-ish pounds in a few months. I cut back my soda intake drastically. I've limited myself to one soda a day. Food wise, we've been trying to incorporate more veggies but no major diet changes, just drinking more water and way less soda. I don't even really want soda all that much anymore. Really I only drink the one a day for the burst of caffeine. No other reason. Soda actually feels too thick to me now when I drink it, especially Coke. Pepsi isn't as bad. But I can really tell how syrupy soda is now. It's a little gross, actually. As for missing out on carbonation, I don't have to since Ozarka makes carbonated waters with fruit flavors. So that's what's been working for me.

Someone that doesn't live with me tried to get into my apartment today. I had just gotten off work and was picking up a few things before heading home. My wife called to tell me to go ahead and chill outside and she'd bring the hookah out for me to relax with after work. She heard someone messing with the door and figured it was me. I said, "That's not me, I haven't left the store yet." She opened the door and saw a bigger girl take off down the stairs. We're hoping someone just had the wrong apartment, but it sounds awfully odd to me. I have a suspicion as to who it might have been based on the description she gave me. So we'll be keeping a closer eye out and being extra safe from now on.

I haven't been to the site in a good while. I came back to over 2000 notifications o_0

Also gained a couple more watchers, thanks y'all!

Got back into WoW , seeing as my wife and I like our gaming. While playing as a Pandaren, I realized how chill pandas are (mostly, I mean they are still bears) and also that I need to strive to not stress and just be calmer in general. We're doing pretty well (pets included). Hmm.. what else... oh, been told by customers and a few friends that they think I've lost weight *shrugs* I guess so, I mean I feel pretty decent and some of my clothes fit either better or looser so I must be doing ok..lol If I remember to check in more often I'll let you know if I think of anything else.

There is a young woman missing in Lafayette. I don't know her personally but a lot of my friends do, they and her family are very worried about her. If any fur is in the Lafayette or surrounding areas, any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated pics and info are in the following link

So let's see what's up with the badger, shall we? Things are going pretty well here. My wife and I have been together for almost 3 years now and still loving every moment, just like when we first met. Our cat Pooka is as healthy and hyper as ever. Tako, our rat is as content and lazy like most male rats tend to be. Our fish, Pi is.. well he's a fish.. so he swims and chills a lot. We've found a new apt. complex that has nicer amenities and a cheaper rent price and we should be set to move in at the end of May. This means no RCFM this year, but that's ok, bigger priorities come first. Hope all of you are doing well also, if not, hang in there all things pass eventually.

We had an amazing time at RCFM this year! Got to catch up with a lot of our old friends and met SO many awesome new ones! We got murried!! The ceremeony turned out even better than I expected!! Special thanks to  redguardian for officiating,  corinakoala13 for filming it and for arranging the procession, to  kibohana for walking Maggie down the aisle and helping her with make up and other pre-wedding girly stuffs; to Sgt.Pandybear for being my impromptu best fur and to  kreejay for making our awesome wedding badges and bookmark badges as wedding gifts as well as  crystal-fox for making kick ass wedding badges for us and of course to  glowsheep for having my tail ready in time for the ceremony! Thanks to any con staff members that had our backs when some mundane complained that we were blocking the staircase.. especially since the stairs only go up to the 2nd floor and there are 3 perfectly good elevators. Thank you all for making this a wonderful and memorable RCFM!

The badger is 33 today

Hope everyone is having a great holiday weekend and enjoying time with whoever you're around :3 Yesterday my mate and I had Xmas eve dinner with her side of the family. We had lots of fun and food. Got to watch our 2 yr old god daughter unwrap all her presents. So freakin adorable! Then we had SO much turkey and lots of other good noms. Then we played UNO and Skip-Bo and Farkle (kind of like Yahtzee). Then it was time to head back to Lafayette from their place in Jennings (about 45 mins west of our place).

Today (in about an hour ...around 2pm) we'll be with my parents at their house. That trip will only take about 15 minutes to the other side of Laffy towards Breaux Bridge. Good times shall be had by all. We hope the same for all of you!

So even though we consider ourselves married as it is, we're having our official ceremony here in Lafayette on April 20th 2011. For those of you that I don't have on Facebook that would like to attend pm me and I'll have my mate, Maggie add you to the list. For those that can't make this event but will be @ RCFM 2011 we're having a smaller scale ceremony/party at the con. So far things are going well with the planning. We have the reception hall picked out and she's been figuring out which dress to get, I've already got my suit. I'm excited but slightly stressed.. mostly about what it's all gonna cost us. Thankfully, though, she's been very flexible and trying very hard not to be a "bridezilla" when it comes to getting what she wants for our perfect day..lol She's actually been great, I just sometimes feel a little bad that I can't give her the best of the best outside of our budget, but she understands :3 So anyway.. hope to see most of you for both or at least one of the ceremony/parties!

There's too much awesome stuff to put into just one journal entry so I'll just give you the abridged version. It was my mate Maggie's first fur con ever, I think RCFM should be the first furry con for everyone if possible. She enjoyed herself immensely as did I.. honestly aside from random smallish snafus it was the perfect con. The hotel was breathtaking and the free breakfast every morning couldn't have been anymore Om nom nomalicious! The staff (both con and hotel) did an outstanding job keeping on top of things. But what really made the con was the people.. yes to all my friends that I've known for years(or at least a year):
