Computer issues (cont.)
Posted 9 years agoSo I've never worked on computers and was foolish and thought it was like any piece of hardware or tool. I was sorely mistaken. Here's the list of mistakes I can onviosly point out for people to laugh at :D
1. worked without grounding myself or the computer.
2. worked on carpet
3. directly handled the motherboard without protecting it.
4. took parts appart that shouldn't have been taken apart.
5. Trusted the words of people who also have no idea what they are doing (geek squad, not you guys)
So basically I worked on my computer on carpet! which can cause massive (for a sensitive piece of machinery as a motherboard) damage due to electromagnetic discharge. Static killed my cpu for sure. I'll have to do research on if my processor is damaged as well, but I can only assume it is. So I'll probably not have a computer for a while.
When I took the computer to geek squad they looked it over and took about as much care as I did. They poked and prodded at componets without grounding themselves and did a bunch of other things to it. They concluded, without any physical evidence, that my water cooling system had failed and leaked onto the motherboard. The problem with that is there is no evidence that had occurred and upon dismantling my computer to bare bones, I found they where wrong.
While seaching up more methods of repair I kept coming up with "keep yourself grounded" and a few other builder suggestions. I had alreadygiven up on the cpu and had gone to amizon to see about replacing things. I found people had issues with my motherboard and the BIOS and cmos acting up. I thought that was my problem because it sounded so similar to mine. Then about 2am I was looking at an static wristband that would help reduce ESDs. I was linked to a video by Microsoft that greatly explained how EDSs worked and how they damage sensitive equipment like motherboards. This openned my eyes and now I know, I killed my computer. Lesson is learned though as I will now go about the painstaking process of cleaning and assembling my computer from scratch once I get my motherboard and maybe a new processor. I'll do my research this time and make sure everything goes well. I am not one to take failure lightly.
Anyway I just want to say thank you to everyone who has assisted me thus far <3 I appreciate you taking time out of your day to help this silly foxy who has no clue what she was doing. Love all of you and wish I could give you all big hugs in thanks <3

Good, bad, ugly (PC update and help me? D:)
Posted 9 years agoThe good, I got a new graphics card (gtx 1070) and it looks cool... that's about all that's good
The bad, after installing the card my computer went into bios, normal... except it isn't. It says BIOS is corrupted and the system will be recovered from the backup... that was 30 minutes ago and it is still at 0% I am baffled and don't understand what is happening :c
The ugly... life D:

Looking to upgrade my PC suggestions? tips? *Updated*
Posted 9 years agoI haven't ever updated my machine and I'm not very versed at it as some are. Anyone have any suggestions on parts or anything that might help?
I'm looking for something to get up to date on the modern games, so probably a processor and graphics card maybe?
Edit: Wow I made this a bit early... didn't include everything... Ok then tired brain aside.
My PC specs are
OS: Windows 8 64-bit
Processor: Intel Core i7-4820K CPU 3.70 GHz
Memory: 8192MB RAM
Graphics card: AMD Radeon HD 7700 Series
And that's it x.o sorry if I wasn't clear before, like at all Dx

Story Idea? Maybe... Dunno...
Posted 11 years ago A scream pierced the night as the ears of a purple vixen perked up to the distress. The scream wasn't that of pleasure, it had a strong sound of pain. Then the smell of blood on the wind, one never forgets that easily recognizable smell. She rushed to the scene, trying to find the source. It was too late, the body of a bunny lay dead in a dark ally. The scent of blood strong in the air, around the motionless rabbit. The lupine was female, about mid twenties, with a large gash across her throat. The death was instant as she bled out in mere seconds. Unfortunately the sent trail of her aggressor ended at the ally. With the scene clear and blue lights flashing behind her the vixen could only do one thing, what she was trained to do. Reaching into her purse she grabbed rubber gloves and a small, yet powerful, flashlight. "Just another day at work Detective?" the friendly voice of her wolf friend behind her bellowed out. "Yeah... but this was too close for comfort... I was here before you after all." She wasn't sure what was going on, but was determined to find out.
Just an idea that has been boiling in my brain... anybody want to suggest something? should this be a thing? maybe? I dunno.
