Puppers!
Posted 8 years agoMy German Shorthaired Pointed is preggers! About 6 weeks or so. Went to the vet yesterday for an x-ray to have an idea of how to expect at minimum. She's got at least nine coming, but there could still be others hidden in the x-rays. Ah'm so excited! She'll be a good mama dog. <3
I'm excited! Hope to have pictures to follow. :3

House Update & Weight Loss
Posted 8 years agoBeen a while since I've posted anything here, so I figured to update a couple of things.
First off, my house projects have come along and most of them are finished. I've got my bedroom painted a nice glossy black with white ceiling trim. It's a lot brighter than you'd think a black bedroom would be, but with a couple windows and a big arsed closet mirrored door, it's one of the brighter rooms in the house. The entry way to the house is a nice eggshell white, better than the bright yellow that was there. The living room/dining room and hallway have been redone in a very light seafoam green (Though it's called herbal mist) and it makes things look quite nice. The kitchen itself has been finished with new electric having been run and a new gas line for the stovetop. Can't complain. It looks nice. I had the wall between the kitchen and living room punched out and installed a bartop so people can eat around the kitchen, or the table and still be able to watch TV or visit. The color of the kitchen is a lovely wine red and it compares nicely with the color out in the living room. So, all in all, the upstairs of my house is peachy. I need to refinish the basement next, and that's about the last major project to be done to bring things to my satisfaction
Out in the garage I put in new light fixtures and outlets just because it was quite dark and built myself a nice giant work bench out there too! Things are really coming together.
Next in my life has been weight loss. Unfortunately I did not stick with going to the gym. Once Kel left, it became boring to go alone so I stopped doing that. But I've been keeping up on my keto diet since October of 2016 and have dropped about 55 pounds so far. I was at 265 and am down to 210.5. So that's nice. I hope to get under 200 soon, and then the next target is 180. It's taking time, but I'll get there. In the long term, I tried this diet back a couple year ago where I was at 285 at my heaviest, so you could say I dropped 75 in the long run! Hehe. Just hope I've got the discipline to maintain my weight once I've got it all off this time.

House Comin' Along
Posted 10 years agoWell, it's been a while, but ah finally got a good amount of work goin' on my house. I have the kitchen gutted entirely now. Old cabinets torn out, old linoleum ripped up, and finally the old and worn subfloor taken out. I also got my living room, hallway, and dining area painted too! It looks sooooo much better than the off yellow goldenrod kind of colour. The people who lived there before touched up some spots too with an orange-yellow too. Just didn't sit right with me.
Later today I have a contractor coming over to give me an estimate to lay tile for me and redo the subfloor and all. All the materials are bought, so that expense is taken care of. After the tile is done, time to build up the cabinets, and take down a wall! The next project after that is to run speaker wires and some electric wiring in the living room. As it stands, I want to mount speakers on the walls or in the ceiling. I also want to add recessed lighting as there are absolutely no lights in that area, which it kinda needs.
So many projects! So little time and money.

Hoofin' It In Germany
Posted 10 years agoWell, been onna pretty big trip with mah dad on a tour of some of Germany for Oktoberfest. I'm seven...ish days in and having a great time. FOr most of the trip we've hung with the tour and have had a blast. We landed in Munich, then rode a bus to Fussen. From there we went to two different viehscheids which is something where the farmers bring the cows down from the mountain. It's a fun celebration and the like. It's kind of a small little oktoberfest by comparison. We've seen a few castles and one palace so far. It's a lot of walking and I love it. We've averaged about 15 miles a day so far. After Fussen, we're at Munich for three days for the festival and sightseering around there, and tomorrow morning we depart for Stuttgart. Have seen the two castles near Fussen and the Versailles-like palace about an hour from Munich. I can't wait to see what's there, though I'm also a little homesick and starting to get a bit more tired day to day from all the walking. I've been behaving though. Haven't been kicked out of the country so far! ^.^
Prost!

Kitchens And Cruises
Posted 10 years agoSo, finally got started on remodeling my kitchen. Had a few things done like removing the upper cabinets and removing the sink. Haven't quite got the bottom ones yet. After I get those torn out, I'm going to call a friend of a friend for an estimate on putting in the tile I bought. That's going to be a diamond pattern checker board in the in. It'll look great! Then, once I have a nice, solid, and LEVEL foundation, i can start putting together my new cabinets. Get one wall taken out partially and make a bartop that opens into the living room. Get the upper cabinets built, mounted. Get the lower cabinets built, pay someone to mount those and make sure they're super duper level for the granite countertops. Have a gas line run for the new stove top. Then mount the exhaust in the ceiling and get rid of the old one that's been there since the 60s. So caked with grease and the like that it started dripping. That's kinda nasty. It'll take maybe a month or so to get it all done right, but it'll be worth it!
As for the cruise part, I 'won' a cruise. The whole shebang where the phone call comes in saying I won, then you talk to someone who tells you that you haven't won yet or blah blah blah. Either way, I'm going to go deal with that and come back with my $1,200 dollar voucher for my danged free cruise. It'll be pretty damn easy considering I've got not money to spend after starting all this renovating. I suppose the worst that could happen is I magically get suckered into buying something, but when you have no money, it's pretty easy to tell 'em to piss off! Hopefully things work out and I'll get myself a cruise somewhere. Bwahahaha

2 Weeks In And Going Strong
Posted 10 years agoWell, Kel has gone back home. And I'm still going to the gym and busting my butt. Surprisingly, just getting over all that initial pain was the worst of it. Couldn't walk to save my life for two days easily. Moving my arms, sitting in a chair, it all hurt. But that's all done now. I hope to maintain this course and lose more weight. My perfect goal is to get down to 180 pounds. My decent enough goal is 200. It'll take time to get there, but I believe I've got it in me to make that happen. The only thing that's going to cause a minor hiccup is ah'm goin' to Oktoberfest in just under a month. First time ever in Germany~ That'll be fun and there will be a lot of walking. Just gotta maintain some semblance of a diet while I'm over there. Not a real big fan of beer either, so that'll make things a bit easier. Overall though, I'm happy. I'm starting to feel better about myself. I'm starting to feel better in general. And ah'm already kicking up my limits. Slowly, but surely. ^.^
A Friend Is Killing Me...So To Speak
Posted 10 years agoHave a friend visiting for about a week or so by the name of Kelketek, or foxiefoxums as he's known here. Been having a good bit of fun just hanging out. He's getting me back on track to lose weight and workout. I'm normally more of a person to just cut calories, but we're doing low/no carb diet with high fat and protein content. I love my bread and it sucks not having it, but I'll get better on that I suppose. He's also taking me to the gym he has a membership at. Man is that hurting! We started with bench press and free weights the first day. Deadlifts, rows, and supported pull ups the next. Today was squats and the leg press with a little cardio afterward. Needless to say, had a bit of trouble walking after today and kinda sorta fell down the stairs with my newly acquired jelly legs! All this will be good for me if I can commit and keep going after he leaves. But right now it feels like ah'm gonna die from soreness.
We'll see where we get to in a couple of months. Hope to maintain an exercise routine.

Potholes In Pittsburgh
Posted 10 years agoWell, I don't remember when I last made a journal entry around here. All I know is I'm upset and pretty damn beat up, but not broken.
Was on my motorcycle going downtown. Seems that I finally earned my road rash due to a damned pothole. I didn't even see it until the last possible second. I thought it was just where they poured tar to fix a previous pothole. Turns out it was a black hole surrounded by black tar.
I did remember what they taught us in training for my license at least. Raise you bum a bit, keep knees bent. Grab clutch and brake as you can. At first I was pissed as this caused me to fly off my bike and eat pavement. But, thinking back on it...it did stop me from being pinned under a few hundred pounds of hot metal.
Overall, road rash, lots of bruises, and a mussed up left hand. Surprisingly...not a scratch to my helmet or head.
With a state (Pennsylvania) that taxes my arse more than any other state I've ever lived in, these roads never seem to get any better. Or, if they repair them, the work done is shoddy at best and only lasts a couple months.
TL;DR
Hit pothole that shouldn't be there, banged up myself and my bike, not dead. Fix that shiz. Peace.

Inherit The Earth 2: Kickstarter
Posted 11 years agoCopied From
Swiftpaw
Quite some years ago, a game came out. It was a very furry game.
Not many people encountered it, not even furries. But it was very good. And very furry.
Even so, it didn't quite become what the creators desired, due to publication company bullarky.
Are you old enough to remember good point and click adventure games?
Perhaps you'll consider helping to fund the Kickstarter project for Inherit The Earth (2): Sand and Shadows.
I know what they show you there isn't much, but you can be assured it will be improved massively in the end product.
Concept art has even been done by people such as Blotch.
I'd really like to see it happen. I am pledging...a lot. It probably won't happen. But please consider even a small
pledge. :) Every bit helps.

For those that remember and would like to help, give it a shot~
If anything, try to pass the word around and get things moving. ^.^
