Uncle Kage Super Drunk
General | Posted 17 years agoSo! Less than a month before
thunderpaws and myself attend Midfur X, Australia's first properly organised furry convention, as well as my first ever.
With GOH Kage, whom for reasons that I still scratch my head over is popular amongst furries.

Unless like, being an alcoholic and trying to convince people to pay for your renovations is a sought after talent no one else is capable of.
I'm hoping it'll be OK though, despite American drunkards.

For those who are unsure of the reference, you unfortunately missed the largest unwarranted hissy fit by Zaush ever. Oh, funny days.

General | Posted 17 years agoTo whoever started this real friends journal thingy? Congratulations for trolling the fuck out of every senthitive soul of FA.
Looking for a new tablet? A suggestion:
General | Posted 17 years agoI recently got myself and
thunderpaws
It's the Genius G-pen F610. Originally I was going to get a Wacom tablet but then one of my vendors advertised this. It piddled all over the Wacom in terms of stats and price, so I went for it instead.
It's got a 6 x 10 drawing area, 1024 pressure levels, and a bunch of hot keys if you're so inclined towards that sort of thing. I don't know how it compares to other tablets because I've never used one before, but I'm having a great time with mine.
I got mine for $90. Usual retail price is $120. I think it's worth checking out. Definite value for money.

e621.net
General | Posted 18 years agoFurry art board e621 is back online.
http://e621.net/
I don't really give a hoot about it's existence (although it is easy to navigate) but I am highly amused, as once more, furries continue to deliver laugh after laugh.
http://community.livejournal.com/ar.....re/162291.html
So. Question. Why do you think so highly of yourselves, furry artists?
Also, hilariously, despite the ease of having drawings removed, numerous artists cry at the thought of going through the easy process to get it achieved.

Success!
General | Posted 18 years agoAfter numerous disappointments, I've finally found an artist who is a professional when it comes to transactions, just as if I were dealing with someone at work. Thus eliminating my idea that all furries were absolutely fucking useless when it came to anything even remotely related to business, and making my brewing idea a reality. Oh joy, oh rapture, oh happy days.
Much love to
jakebe for the referral.

General | Posted 18 years agoFurry *hugs* do not make things better, but they do provide me with lulz, so it's not a total waste. :]
Change of plan
General | Posted 18 years agoYou'll not see a whole lot from me here in the future, as my time is taken up a lot by work and out of work activities. As a result I just don't have the time to bring my drawing skills back up again, let alone improve on them! The most you'll see is an odd sketch and some old work.
I am interested in dabbling in some more satirical writing though. God knows, FA gives me plenty of material.

Recipe for soul rape

Overpriced commissions
General | Posted 19 years agoOh please, please justify the cost of this to me. I'm dying to know.

Or maybe I'm just severely undestimating the value of fox knot.
Spread the love.

HAPPY AUSTRALIA DAY, FUCKERS!
General | Posted 19 years agoI came from the dream time, from the dusty red soil plains,
I am the ancient heart - the keeper of the flame,
I stood upon the rocky shore, I watched the tall ships come,
For forty thousand years I'd been the first Australian.
I came upon the prison ship bound down by iron chains
I cleared the land, endured the lash and waited for the rains.
I'm a settler, I'm a farmer's wife on a dry and barren run
A convict then a free man, I became Australian.
I'm the daughter of a digger who sought the mother lode
The girl became a woman on the long and dusty road
I'm a child of the depression, I saw the good times come
I'm a bushy, I'm a battler, I am Australian.
We are one but we are many
And from all the lands on earth we come,
we share a dream, and sing with one voice,
I am, you are, we are Australian.
I'm a teller of stories, I'm a singer of songs
I am Albert Namatjira, and I paint the ghostly gums
I am Clancy on his horse, I'm Ned Kelly on the run
I'm the one who waltzed Matilda, I am Australian.
I'm the hot wind from the desert, I'm the black soil of the plains
I'm the mountains and the valleys, I'm the drought and flooding rains
I am the rock, I am the sky, the rivers when they run
The spirit of this great land, I am Australian.
We are one but we are many
And from all the lands on earth we come,
we share a dream,
And sing with one voice,
I am, you are, we are Australian.

Wicked day
General | Posted 19 years agoAnd I hope the rest of you had a great one too. No one dumped a gift wrapped buffed out dobie on my lap, but we don't always get what we want for christmas, do we? :)
Plenty of food, plenty of drink, and time spent with my family. Can't ask for more.

Furries + Money = Bad
General | Posted 19 years agoI'm not sure what is wrong with some artists.
My success rate in regards to transactions with furries would be around ten percent or so. I've put out a lot of money in the past and never received the goods. It's a simple matter of business, people. When you agree to take money for something, you deliver the goods. I'm gob-smacked that this concept is beyond some artists.
I'm more shitty with myself, becausve naively I'll continue to pay out and continue to get burnt.

Derailed
General | Posted 19 years agoIt's been a bumpy fortnight with the unexpected merger of the company I work for with another, causing a bit of mayhem right before I was about to take a four day holiday. Most of my time has been spent picking up the pieces from that and liasing with the new staff, but I should have some more free time by next week. Phew!
RIP Scanner
General | Posted 19 years agoWe have this pissy little scanner at work that we use to capture images that we might want to use in sales material, and even that captures shading better than my one at home.
Seems as though my little workhorse is finally giving up after seven years. A shame really because it was a brilliant machine. (when it was working)
In the mean time, I'll just use the machine at work. It seems fond of shoving blue into images, but things still turn out better.

An attempt at productivity
General | Posted 19 years agoI don't know where I saw it, but there was a meme going around here that I was actually interested in. So I'll attempt to post it here. It's something that I'm actually interested in / half way good at.
The first 5 people to respond will get a head shot / portrait done by me. I think it'll encourage me to put aside more time to put pencil to paper.
Help me out by giving a few characteristics of your character. Personality traits and what not.

Gah!
General | Posted 19 years agoFA is great. It's a wonderful way to pass the time by just browsing away at random. However, sometimes I trick myself and come across a real doozy. Something like:
'I wish FA had a bestiality category..'
:(
Bloody zoophiles. The thought of anyone thinking that way about my dear departed dog.. blargh!
My rage mainly stems from trying to quit smoking. I'm twitchy as hell.

Hateful journal interface
General | Posted 19 years ago This is supposed to be italic
This is supposed to be bold
This is supposed to be underlined
And knowing my luck, it'll probably all show up as it should.

General | Posted 19 years agoAll good foxies have their birthday on the 23rd of June, and that includes me. And on a Friday, no less!
All I want for my birthday is a dobie, a bigger dobie, and an even bigger dobie. Maybe a massive mallie or two..

Sketches
General | Posted 19 years agoReckon I'll start making use of the scraps section and put my sketches in there. One in there now and I'll whack a few more in later on once I scan them. Scanning A3 paper is a pain in the arse.
Dubious
General | Posted 19 years agoI must be missing some sort of FA etiquette or something. Seems as though everyone's page is full of 'Thanks for the watch!' messages. So I'll just save time and do it right here. Thanks for the watch!
In other news, I was cleaning out some junk and found some old sketch books from four, five or more years ago. So I'll get around to getting some of the crap out there and put it here.
