About stories with Friendly, Timothy and Jake...
General | Posted 11 years agoJust some spoilers and stuff to (hopefully!) keep some of you satisfied over the next few weeks while I try to get some stories of the three lovable fluffy characters we all know and love, Friendly - Timothy - and Jake.
I am working on another collaboration story with Spartasticus from SoFurry (the same person I collaborated with for "The Campground Adventure" stories with Travis, Sam and Hurricane.) In this story Timothy makes a new friend, a friend that I'm sure a lot of you will adore. It'll kinda be like the Theodore and Eleanor effect from the Chipmunks movie (the Squeakquel). - Dammit, just gave it away. xD
Yeah, Timothy gets a girlfriend, and I'm sure you'll find it most interesting how the two of them fit, and how it'll affect Friendly's relationship with Timothy for better or worse. As of yet even I don't know how that'll go, hopefully not too badly.
Also I do hope to get some more adorable stories out with some more cubfur characters, I really enjoyed making the last one about the new aqua-theme playground with
huskyrye
kennykitsune and
zee-zee and would like to do an autumn themed one - no doubt with leaves and mud and all sorts of fun stuff that autumn brings, like Halloween and candy and spooky surprises!
Any ideas floating around your head that you wanna tell me? Please do! I'm open to suggestions anytime.

Finally home from Rainfurrest!
General | Posted 11 years agoSo it was with a very heavy heart that I departed the Hilton Sea-Tac Airport at all - let alone on Monday morning when the convention was well-and-truly over and the corridors so devoid of fuzziness it's like something killed the magic overnight. After sniffling for a little and saying goodbye to a good friend of mine at the airport, it was off to Silverdale over the Tacoma Narrows Bridge for a couple of days to rest before continuing home this morning. I kinda liked the Silverdale Best Western - I found it would be ideal for a sort of mini-convention should the Washington furs decide to host their own little 'Howloween' style weekend party or something.
Anyways yeah, I drove off at 10:30am this morning in order to get to Port Angeles by noon, and catch the 2pm sailing to Victoria BC. I was the second-to-last vehicle allowed on, so I got lucky. It would have been a LONG drive home otherwise... all the way back the way I came and up through Seattle along I-5 to the mainland border crossing, to the Tsawwassen ferry and hopefully catch the 9pm sailing home.
(Note to anybody wanting to take that ferry, get a reservation, it might be worth it!)
So... I'm back on the island and will likely not be travelling into the US again until December for MidWest Fur Fest. I still need to do more extensive planning for that and see if I can make a visit to Michigan to see a non-furry friend either before or after the convention. After that it'll be Further Confusion 2015 in January!
Story-wise and artwise, I hope to get some new stories with Friendly and Timothy posted soon - and some adorable artwork too for you all to enjoy (I've missed writing those cute little tales too).

RF 2014 con report
General | Posted 11 years agoHeehee, hi there my fuzzy friends! My fuzzy fursuit has been out and about the past few days giving hugs and being all adorable and cute and stuff! (Yes, I have a fursuit now!)
Anyone who hasn't got hugs from me, you'll have another chance tonight around 10pm until beyond midnight, as I plan to fursuit again around that time. I participated in the fursuit parade today - which was awesome, even with a couple of hiccups that happened that delayed it... it was tons of fun and can't wait to do it again next year! This year was nice and sunny out so we went outside... yet with such a cooling breeze it felt so good walking down the hill en-route to the front of the hotel for pictures. Some of us... me
skyan and
nitroshep walked back up the hill again after the parade since it was so nice.
Went down to the babyfur meet and greet this morning... met some cool young-at-heart furs including
toddlergirl and I even took plushie Timothy raccoon with me (though he had wet pull-ups. Awww )
Went in the pool and hottub last night, so glad I did as I neglected doing that last year. Was amazing. Even met
maxcoyote in there to derp around in the water with balloons and balls and stuff. Heehee.
What else? I think that's all. Gonna head out to see more stuff soon, hope to see you!

Shower time for Timothy (little story)
General | Posted 11 years ago(So, with some demand for these little journal stories, here's one for you to enjoy )
Friendly was babysitting Timothy. The adolescent fox had prepared a yummy meal of potato waffles and beans with fruit juice for them both and now, after dinner it was time for Timothy to be washed before bed. Timothy helped Friendly get everything together... soap, towels, a fresh pair of pull-ups for bedtime, and put them all in the bathroom. Friendly turned the shower on, so the water was just a little warmer than lukewarm - perfect for a summer's eve shower. Just then, Friendly heard the phone ringing.
"Oh... that phone." he sighed, "I'll be right back, Timothy." said the fox, leaving Timothy alone in the bathroom.
Timothy checked everything was there... towels, a fresh pair of pull-ups, soap... yep, everything there was needed for a shower. He also checked the rubber ducks were sitting on the side of the tub.
"Yep, all of them are there." thought Timothy, climbing into the tub and feeling the lukewarm water running down his fur and soaking in.
Suddenly, Timothy realized he had forgotten something... he'd forgotten to take his pull-ups off!
"Oh no!" he cried, looking down at the two numbers on the front of his pull-ups, which were fading as the front of his training pants puffed out, soaking up all the water that was pouring into them.
When Friendly returned, he found Timothy still in the shower, his pull-ups overflowing with water and sagging so much they wobbled every time he made a little movement.
"Oh Timothy..." giggled the fox.
"Sorry Friendly, I forgot to take my pull-ups off!" sniffled Timothy.
"Heehee, it's okay." said Friendly with a smile, "Let's get you washed and clean for bed, huh?"
Timothy giggled as Friendly washed him with the soap.
"Heehee, quite the car wash, huh Lightning McQueen?" said Friendly, rubbing the seat of Timothy's pull-ups with his soapy paw and then rubbing the front of Timothy's pull-ups too.
"Friendly!" giggled Timothy, laughing as the fox rubbed his sagging pull-ups.
Soon, Friendly turned the water off and looked at Timothy's soaked pull-ups.
Timothy sat down in the tub, giggling as his saggy pull-ups squished underneath him. Friendly realized he'd forgotten something too, he'd forgotten to turn on the fan and now the mirrors had clouded up. He turned it on anyways.
"Ooops, hehe. Oh well." said Friendly, "Come on Timothy, time to get dried and ready for bed."
Timothy tried to stand, but his pull-ups were too heavy and his feet and paws just slipped in the wet tub.
"Heehee, need some help?" said Friendly, putting his paws under Timothy's arms and lifting the raccoon out of the tub, hugging him and patting the seat of his overwhelmed training pants.
"It's okay Timothy, let's get you outta those and into a fresh pair." said Friendly.
Soon, Timothy was all ready for bed. Friendly picked the sleepy raccoon up and nuzzled him as he carried Timothy into his bedroom. "Goodnight, Timothy." he said, giving the raccoon a kiss on his cheek and patting his fresh pull-ups.
"Goodnight Friendly." squeaked Timothy, snuggling up in his bed and smiling at his babysitter.

Little stories...
General | Posted 11 years agoSo. I had a look at a few of the little stories of Timothy I have written in my journals (based on
Zee-Zee's little stories in journals he posts every so often about being a big clever squirrel.
The one "Timothy at pre-school" got me thinking, should I write these little story blurbs more often? I think they've got more attention than the stories I post in my gallery sometimes. Hehe.

Next cons and news
General | Posted 11 years agoSo I am still unemployed and looking for work, though fortunately I'm now working with a fantastic local agency that is great for disabled/disadvantaged people and finding a job for them. (Though even as fantastic as it sounds they don't work Sundays xD).
Anyways I do have enough money to live off of, and to get my fursuit paid for. It just means I've taken my truck off the road until I have the income to get it going again.
As for the next cons, my next one is RainFurrest 2014 in Seattle, WA. Following for definite are Midwest Fur Fest 2014, Further Confusion 2015 and VancouFUR 2015. After Megaplex 2015 I may be going to the UK for a while - maybe a year. This should allow me to attend Eurofurence in 2015 and Confuzzled in 2016 to try both of them out - because I really want to. This means I will most likely be dropping RF, MFF 2015, FC and VF 2016 as I will be in the UK, and unwilling to travel such long distances for just a week or less.
We'll just have to wait and see. If you're gonna be at the next RF, MFF or FC say so! You can get lots of foxy hugs from me!

Updated my youtube channel
General | Posted 11 years agoSome time ago I decided to separate my transport-related and furry-related content on youtube to two channels.
I've updated the link to the furry-content channel "friendlythefox" which contains old videos of my puppet on adventures in British Columbia and in England, and also my furry convention videos.
The other channel which was listed here "welwyn22" is still in use for professional-grade transport videos I do as part of my hobby, right now mostly compilation videos of buses, trains and trams.

More news... March-April 2014
General | Posted 11 years agoWelp, I no longer work at my local grocery store and haven't done for two weeks. On Sunday the 23rd I took a nine day trip to the US for Biggest Little Fur Con in Reno, NV - and my work didn't like that. They had requested I stay for the store changeover, but didn't tell me this before I booked everything (non-refundable).
So yeah... they say I quit, I say I was terminated because of it. Nothing can be done about that now sadly, all I can hope is my Employment Insurance check comes through soon. I do still have my disability pension to live off of in the meantime. Also got some interviews with local tourist attractions, only seasonal work but it pays well.
Also... taking the downtime and working on some more stories of Timothy - as a human four year old boy, and one where he is a three-year old raccoon just taking the first steps of his potty training.
And...! I have put the down payment on my fursuit! It's expected to be ready for September, just in time for Rainfurrest! Really looking forward to it! Headed over to Vancouver on the weekend so I can get the Duct-tape-dummy done and shipped off on Monday.
So yeah... they say I quit, I say I was terminated because of it. Nothing can be done about that now sadly, all I can hope is my Employment Insurance check comes through soon. I do still have my disability pension to live off of in the meantime. Also got some interviews with local tourist attractions, only seasonal work but it pays well.

Cons - sharing special memories from each one :-)
General | Posted 12 years agoLONG JOURNAL WARNING....
Just decided to do this because I have nothing much better to do this Monday evening xD
So - my first con EVER - VancouFUR 2012:
This was my very first furry convention. Mainly because I didn't have the money or passport required to attend Rainfurrest 2011 or Further Confusion 2012. I'd decided after seeing the trailer by Kheetah to attend and see what all the fuss was all about with furries and fursuiters. I'm so glad I did - because I made a bunch of new friends! I got to hug several furries in suit and witness a fursuit parade. The best memory I have from the con though was meeting a fursuiter I had seen before in one of Kijani Lion's videos - Tibolf. Got some great footage of him being that cute and silly wuff everyone knows and loves, like climbing onto a luggage trolley. Heehee xD.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tra3JlPWW9I
Next - Rainfurrest 2012:
Again, this convention was a smaller one, just a bit bigger. I attended this one as I knew how much of a good time I'd had at VancouFUR and wanted to meet some USA furs. This was my first time entering the USA ever.
An unfortunate memory of this convention was a furry getting high on mushrooms, going into the pool wearing nothing after crashing into the heavy gate, jumping over it and then having the pool closed down for the night. It was unfortunate, and I was shaken up. Fortunately some hugs from Sairys and Tibolf got me feeling better the next day, and I actually got to meet my favorite fursuiter in the flesh. Also bumped into Wolfpup TK and Skyan for the first time.

Further Confusion 2013:
This was my first big convention, and it was in California! I ended up flying down after staying for a few days in Seattle chasing buses and met even more friends! This time it was KiitLock and a lot of other suiters I can't remember the names of, but this convention was a blast - truly. The most memorable moments of the convention was actually the Friday night dance. Listening to Akonite and Thumper DJing their set followed by Tibolf.
I'll never forget that night, I danced for the first time in my entire life - it meant a lot to me.
Also got to go out for dinner with a whole group of furs, including Tibolf and Fuzzy Otter.
I kinda overdid it telling my favorite suiter just how he had made this con extra special. Another awkward experience was that we kept randomly bumping into each other - every time we did I had just that little something to say. I got the feeling I was becoming a nuisance and decided to give him some space. Unfortunately it must have been too late.

VancouFUR 2013:
I knew I'd have a good time at VancouFUR again, this time I booked a room there and shared it with my RF roomie. Lots of memories from this con too, but the most memorable was swimming with Skyan and Razzy-Lee as well as a few others. Heck it was like I was a kid again. :D
Kudos to Baphnedia for the inflatable pool toys too!

Biggest Little Fur Con 2013:
I was considering going to Furlandia anyway, so I decided to tag along for the whole thing and make a big trip out of it. It started out as a road trip with two vans, on an overnight trip to Reno, NV from Seattle. Once at the con I just fell asleep, as I hadn't slept much at all on the journey. BLFC was totally a great con though! Everything was in one convenient place. Got to hang out with Skyan and DigiPig as well as some other suiters. Loved seeing the guest of honor there too WolfpupTK!
The road trip was most likely the most memorable thing for this con, as I didn't get involved too much in other things. I wanna fix that this year and make some new friends.

Furlandia 2013
This was supposed to be a trip to remember - and it certainly was. My truck sprung a significant radiator leak on the way to Portland, OR, but fortunately we both made it there in one piece. I had a local Seattle fur in tow as well who assured me everything would be okay. I had hoped to hang out with my favorite fursuiter some more and help him get to know me better, but this never happened.
I did get to meet Siber Hamster and some of the other local Portland furs though, which was great. After the con I drove back home to BC and the truck gave me no more trouble.
Rainfurrest 2013
This was my first con in four months. I'd decided to hold back on trips and get my truck fixed up good and properly to survive another trip down South to Seattle and Portland.
I was sharing a room with WolfPupTK which had me so exhilarated since I had wanted to talk to him and get to know him a bit better too. I dared say I'd found myself a new favorite fursuiter, but I wasn't ready to give up on my old favorite just yet. After much deliberation and getting apprehensive of even going through with it, I attempted to talk again to my favorite fursuiter, but sadly he's no longer interested and just wants me to leave him alone. I can respect that, we've just been victims of a misunderstanding is all. Stuff happens - I daresay I might even write a book on the whole thing one day, but for now I have to just live with what I did and hope for the best.

Midwest Fur Fest 2013
My first convention INSIDE the United States of America - in Chicago no less. I arrived after dark and went straight to the Hyatt to find some friends. I bumped right into KiitLock who was most exhilarated to see me and we went upstairs to put my stuff in his room until I could find my room mate. The most memorable events were actually getting to meet and talk to FoxAlbiAzul and Uncle Kage to name but a few people. It was a great con despite the freezing cold weather, and I'll definitely be back next year - hopefully with my fursuit. :D
Further Confusion 2014
I had been looking forward to this con ever since the last year's convention. I found out my old favorite fursuiter was not planning on attending, which alleviated me of any fears of awkward situations. I roomed with an old friend from last year, as well as a couple of local furs from Portland. Things went swimmingly, and I guided my friend on getting to talk to Uncle Kage and shared a few tips to avoid the awkward situations I had to put up with a couple of times. Unfortunately this con just flew by - like in the dream I had about it the day before the con. (Had a dream it was already Saturday night on Wednesday night D:)
The most memorable moments were seeing my good friends WolfpupTK and KiitLock performing at the Dance Competition and blowing everyone away. They did such a great job out there. Another memorable moment was getting to see DoryuuShepherd's new fursuit for the first time.
After the con I went off to San Mateo to chase some buses - to alleviate some of that awful PCD. I just wish I could have hung out with some furries during that time, as I was alone and bored most nights. Oh well, it was a fun trip all the same.
There are the cons I've been to... all nine of them! My tenth is coming up soon - VancouFUR 2014! :D

FC2014 and Cali trip recap
General | Posted 12 years agoWelp, I arrived back home in BC on Sunday afternoon... and DAMN do I miss Cali! All that warm sunshine and cool new buses to chase and stuff. I found some transit exchanges with so much variety it boggled my mind... rare to do really . Most notably were the TransBay and El Cerrito Del Norte exchanges, both found in Volume Two of my Buses in San Francisco series here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=93JzqJWR9dw
I didn't do a con video of FC2014, just because I didn't feel bothered. I took some video footage but will be keeping most of it to myself for my memory of the con. I did post some videos of various suiters in the Dance Competition though. For reference' sake,
doryuu
wolfpuptk and
dotx are the suiters I do know that I videoed, a couple of others too such as Ace Fox and Telephone.
For those videos, see my alternate Youtube account here: http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCK2.....AEbJS3BDf-tzhg
I just wish I could have stayed down there a LOT longer, but alas Canada (and work!) called for me to come back. Boo
Oh well, at least I got to go in the first place I guess.

Great news on truck!
General | Posted 12 years agoFINALLY! Today, me and my dad set about on figuring why the truck wouldn't start yesterday. We removed the oil pump and spindle, distributor and valve-rocker cover and made sure they were all in the right position before trying again. Several failed attempts led us to rewire the spark plug leads and check, double-check and triple-check they were all in the right place. After about five hours of struggling to start it, it fired into life! Only trouble was - it was like the accelerator was hard-on. Turned it off again and figured out why - two nuts fitted to the back of the carburetor were not on, meaning that a massive air leak was to blame. After they were put on, it ran like a dream! This fox is back on the road again!

Truck news...
General | Posted 12 years agoWelp here's the latest news on my (not so) faithful Nissan Datsun 720 pickup.
It definitely blew the headgasket - as diagnosed by my dad. We spent about two weeks taking most of the truck apart just to get the cylinder head off to get to the gasket. Today we replaced it and put a new cylinder head on (the old one was warped beyond repair) and now we've hit another huge roadblock. After we put the valve rocker assembly onto the cylinder head we attempted to put the timing chain/camshaft sprocket back on, but it won't fit. We had a bloody hard enough job getting it off, now it won't go back on no matter how much we try. So now we also have to take the timing chain assembly apart to reset the tensioning piston and loosen the guide (which is far too tight).
Bloody thing! D:
I was hoping to have the truck up and running tomorrow before I go back to work, but now it won't be working until next week at the very earliest. :-/

Holodeck time...
General | Posted 12 years agoSo... some of you might have heard a little statement from me in the past month or two saying how I've gotten into watching Star Trek, particularly Star Trek Voyager.
In fact it led to quite a few good laughs during MFF at the Westin - we were all lying in bed and I just happened to mention "Computer, turn off lights!" somewhat expecting them to go off anyways. They didn't :( Or just before that when another of my room-mates stubbed his toe on something. "Computer, activate Emergency Medical Hologram!"
I still can't get my head around why I expected to hear "Please state the nature of the medical emergency"
XD
Anyways, this journal isn't supposed to be about Star Trek. However, I can relate to a lot of futuristic technology in the series, such as the holodeck. Such a luxury seems like something that I so desperately desire for real life - nothing could possibly beat sleeping off the day's work and stress, and then to fire up the holographical room for some fun times with my furry friends and stuff. I can only hope that one day, perhaps 20 years or so from now, we are all gifted with the opportunity to actually become our furry selves in a holographical environment - with the ability to change certain things just with voice command - as seen in Star Trek.
I highly value my 'holodeck' time - this being roleplaying with other people and furries and getting to participate in an environment where one can forget all about real life just for a bit. The gift of being able to use your imagination with another person by the use of IM is the standard now, and it's a wonderful gift whoever gave it to us. I hope it gets to go further in the future as I mentioned...
Far from the realms of Star Trek, here we are - running up to the holiday season! Work is getting busier, right to the point where I've had to change a few priorities lately. It's all good though since the extra work of Christmas Time will allow me to go to Further Confusion (just six weeks' away!) and hopefully put some money aside for my fursuit (which I hope will be completed in November, 2014).
As much as I highly value any 'holodeck' time I get to spend with anyone of you, I haven't had the opportunity to find much time for roleplay recently. I apologize, but that's just the way it is now. I sincerely hope I get more time for such a relaxing and fun leisure in the near future, because I love to roleplay. It's a way for me to calm down and forget about most stressful things I have to put up with... though I do also have to be in the mood for it (this rules out particularly bad days at work where I am so stressed I need to go growl it out or something.
Anyways, heck this was a long journal. LOL

2014 Con List (Subject to last-minute Changes)
General | Posted 12 years agoSo, heyo everyone! Here's the 2014 con list I promised in yesterday's journal.
1. Further Confusion 2014 (All paid up and ready to go, just need to finalize transport to and from Seattle for flights)
2. VancouFUR 2014 (My Local con, must attend!)
3. Biggest Little Fur Con 2014 (Tentative!)
4. Anthrocon 2014 (Tentative!)
5. Rainfurrest 2014 (My 'other' local con. Must attend)
6. Midwest Fur Fest 2014 (Definitely going to this one again!)
So there you have it. I really want to try AC this year just because I've never been, and a lot of folks go there that I wanna meet again! Heard about "Furnando's" restaurant and wanna try that, and could probably do with a good laugh from Uncle Kage and Two before MidWest Fur Fest comes about.
As for BLFC, that con is tentative since I may have a new job at that time, and be less-likely to book the time off. I really wanna go though because this year, I'm old enough to play the slots!
Even got $1.50 in pennies just to throw away at the penny-slot-machines there. LOL
If my luck goes in my favor, I might add another con or two to that list... but it's most likely I'll be sticking to this plan for 2014. Heck I've been craving a fursuit for nearly two years now, and am still no closer to getting one! D:

Post MFF Journal
General | Posted 12 years agoSo... I survived the deep freeze in Chicago where MFF took place just a few days ago. Wow - gotta to back to work tomorrow and I'm still exhausted from all the travelling to and from 'The Windy City'
'Windy' was a good description... was 25F with a wind chill that made your ears freeze up and your paws feel like they could fall off. Perfect weather for the fursuiters though, if they wanted to cool off they just went outside and froze themselves for a bit, no need to take the head off even!
Wasn't so good for me though as I had a half-mile walk to/from the con to the Westin where I was staying, at least I had a warm coat with me.
So what did I do there? Well I took a few photos (I'll upload these when I get a chance) and shot some video at the con. Most of the time I was hanging around... though I did also pop in for the Open-Mic panel in the ballroom and Uncle Kage's story hour, I honestly laughed in such a way I can't remember the last time I had such a good laugh.
After four days of furry goodness and talking with people I know and cherish, it was time to head home. Woke up at 6am local time to catch the 8:45am American Airlines plane back to Sea-Tac, arrived at 11:00 Seattle time (13:00 in Chicago) and caught the 13:00 Bolt Bus back home to Canada, which arrived in time for me to take transit to the 19:00 ferry back home to Victoria, BC. All-in-all, eighteen hours of travelling. *faints*
So that was my last con of 2013... and it went as well as I could have expected it to.
My next cons will be provided in a list in a following journal, stay tuned!

New entry thingie...
General | Posted 12 years agoWell - since the last journal I've moved on. Occasionally I'll get so worked up about the fact that I'm not working around children, but now I think about it I believe it's for the best. All-too-often you hear about innocent guys who love working with kids getting the blame for something they didn't do and it ruins their lives, so I think I'd rather avoid that.
I know I'd make a good babysitter, but unfortunately it isn't meant to be - not on this planet anyways.
So... as I've said I've moved on - I'm looking forward to my last furry convention for the year - MidWest Fur Fest in Chicago, IL! I head down to Seattle on November 18th, fly out of Sea-Tac to O'Hare on the 21st and fly back to Seattle and back home on November 25th. I can only hope this con goes better than Rainfurrest did.

Thinking about my life...
General | Posted 12 years agoCan't think of a more appropriate name...
Anyways, ever since getting back from the US I've taken a look at my life and where it's headed, and I would like to try and set it on a new course. I currently work at one of my local supermarkets for minimum wage and anywhere from twenty to thirty hours per week (sometimes six-day work weeks) and it's really taken a toll on what I'm able to do. I'm not able to roleplay as much as I used to, nor write new stories or even talk to people at all much anymore. Just the mere thought of going to work makes me feel tired - not sick but just exhausted.
What I'd really like to do is child care... perhaps working at a daycare center or something - unfortunately every daycare center within commuting distance seems to be the same - an Early-Childhood-Educator qualification and years of experience or not interested. It's a shame since I know I have talent working with kids... if a young kid is 'misbehaving' I can sometimes relate to the child and understand why... and most times the parent just says to their child "Can you stop?" or "Don't do that!" or "Stop being a ****" and it always drives me up the wall since they're reacting to their own child's behavior with contempt as opposed to affection.
Rant over... all I can think about is that I need to find a new job that pays well, and one that I enjoy going to. My current job just about pays for things I need and trips to a few conventions every year, but it's getting me nowhere in regards to obtaining a fursuit, moving out or fixing up my faithful 1984 Nissan truck.
Back to childcare again... I do have six months' volunteer experience working with middle-school age kids and some experience with younger kids too, I guess I just have to keep looking.

Back from RF and Portland...
General | Posted 12 years ago...and it was an exciting trip and a well-earned break from working.
Tomorrow I'm back at work - and today I have the grass to cut and the dishwasher to do and no doubt other things to catch up on... but first I'd like to write a summary of what happened on my trip.
So on Wednesday the 25th of September I drove down through the border in my truck - unfortunately having to wait an hour at the border in the sunshine didn't do the engine much good and I had to fork out $30 for an oil change when I got to Lynnwood. I stayed in Lynnwood for the one night and chased some buses - as I do. The next day I drove down to RF and met up with
dotx and my roommate
wolfpuptk getting the con started off on a high-note.
Unfortunately poor Wolfpup came down with a significant cold and spent most of Friday and Saturday trying to sleep it off, but fortunately he did feel well enough to go out in suit on Sunday. The con mostly went well, though a few things did go a little awry - the weather for the most part. Still, I had another trip to look forward to directly after RF - Portland.
So on Monday morning I gave Wolfpup a hand to get to the airport shuttle, and then went and checked out and drove out of Seattle and off to Portland. Unfortunately the hotel was rather 1970's themed and the stay was somewhat less than satisfactory, however it did turn out to be a great trip where I got to explore some of the city, chase lots of buses and trains and actually hang out with Atso and Baphnedia on Wednesday and Thursday nights respectively.
On Saturday I checked out of the hotel and drove straight back to B.C. Seattle traffic was a nightmare - spent an hour trying to get through gridlocked I-5 which I wasn't counting on considering it was a Saturday... also in Tacoma I had a near-miss where at the junction for Gig Harbor I turned the corner at 60mph in the fast lane, only to find out there was a line of traffic stopped just five car-lengths ahead of me. I slammed on the brakes and drifted across four lanes - avoiding a total disaster. Thinking about it - it's like my truck had a mind of it's own, I swear it was thinking "Oh no, I'm not ready to crash yet, I'm going over to the slow lane where there's no traffic" - and it just goes to show I would trust that truck with my life. I'm definitely glad I didn't crash into the car since I'm sure my truck would have destroyed it at the speed it was going... and the rest was a pretty uneventful journey all the way back to B.C, only stopping at the Blaine Chevron to fill up with gas before hopping across the border and the ferry back home.
Also, the only other place I stopped on my journey back home was Centralia at the Safeway for gas, which was a very cheap 3.32/gallon.

Rainfurrest! One space available in convention hotel
General | Posted 12 years agoHowdy everyone! Name's FriendlyFox.
Rules:
1) You'll be responsible for working out payment with me. Cash in the hand, no exceptions. (Sorry, but had too many people end up not paying me in the past)
2) No excessive drinking, aka, if you get vomit-drunk/shitfaced, you fail.
3) No bringing your entire posse into the room. A few guests is fine.
4) BASIC. HYGENE. (including making sure your suit, if you have one, doesn't reek.)
5) No snoring. For serious. Make sure you know if you snore or not. One of my room-mates is a very light sleeper (and I don't particularly want to be awake to loud snoring either .
The room IS in the main convention hotel - ideal for fursuiters. The room is for Thursday to Monday morning (26th-30th September) and will be $140 per person.
(Since I'm a Canadian furry, I'll accept either USD, CAD or a mix of both)
