Progress has been made
Posted 5 years agoMy car is now 100% paid off. Another step made towards being 100% debt free.
Time for another update
Posted 5 years agoMore debt has been paid off. Also I am very close to paying off my car as well. Things are still improving for me right now.
Time to post an update on things
Posted 6 years agoI have managed to pay off a lot of debt recently which is having a positive effect on my credit. Also I got myself into a position financially where I no longer needed to have a second job at all. I ended up quitting the second job even though I was getting paid to get a good workout. Also have managed to clear up some other minor drama as well. I am managing to get some free time back again and recover some other things as well.
I finally got an SLA 3D printer. Something I have been working on getting for a while. It has a small build plate but the amount of detail this thing can produce is quite amazing. Now I can use this to print stuff like fursuit parts and tabletop minis. This thing will defintely help with fursuit construction and rebuilding my own fursuits in the future.
I was thinking about getting an airbrush as well but looked into it and decided that wouldn't really be needed since it won't get a lot of use. Also someone did teach me how to paint minis using some brushes. I'll probably just use those brushes for any detailed painting projects instead while achieving very similar results. Right now buying an airbrush would kind of be a waste of money right now.
With the new free time I have gotten I have started going back to tabletop RPGs again. Something I had to give up a while ago mainly due to lack of time. This time I have a good gaming group that looks like will finish the current campaign and possibly a few more in the future as well.
Since I now have more free time one of my big tasks is to go through a bunch of stuff I got and throw out the junk. Also really need to organize everything I am going to keep and finish cleaning up around here as well. Once that is done I can then start to finish some other tasks and projects that I have started.

Making progress
Posted 6 years agoA bunch of debt has been paid off and is now officially eliminated. I am happy. I make progress.
Another update
Posted 6 years agoSo far things are still going to plan. Soon a lot of debt is going to get paid off. Once that happens it will leave me with a lot more money to continue paying off even more debt. Soon I will be debt-free entirely.
Things are going as planned
Posted 6 years agoThings are going as planned. October is going to be the month a bunch of stuff gets paid off in full. Then I will be able to fund some investments much more agressively.
Plans for the future
Posted 6 years agoI am planning on quitting my 2nd job once my car is paid off. After that I am going to then start studying for my Cisco CCNP certification. By the time I am able to take the test the new guidelines will let me skip CCNA. Also I already earned CCNA but it had already expired.
Looking good so far
Posted 6 years agoThings are looking good. Still on track to pay off a bunch of stuff in October and my car will also be paid off in full soon as well. Gonna save me a LOT of money in payments I no longer have to make.
Future plans and some other random stuff
Posted 6 years agoThings are getting much better. So I have gotten more agrrssive towards paying off my car. Once that and some other stuff are finally paid in full I can quickly pay off other little things. Once the big stuff is paid off I am planning on also saving my money for a large purchase and for investments. I'm going to be buying a house outside of the city limits. Also I may start a stamp collection as well given how much money I will be saving once I am fully debt free.
I am also planning on simply upgrading my 3D printer to a larger model. Also I am planning on getting a second SLA 3d printer for smaller but very detailed prints. I will be able to 3D print TTRPG minis.
Currently I work about 60 hours a week. My second job basically pays me for a nice cardio workout. Once the big stuff has been paid off I may cut my hours back to just 40 a week and work one job. I do like havinv the extra money come in. I may hold onto the second job and use thr extra money for investments. Might as well spend money to make more money.
It looks like I no longer have to deal with an extremely entitled indivual anymore. This person was really bad. He absolutely had to pretend that he was rich, including going out and buying status symbols instead of things like food. He has actually told me that he hasn't eaten for 3 days because he had to waste his money on the most expensive iphone at the time. It was fun watching the train wreck happen as everyone literally cut him off. He completely lost his mind and was very close to getting charged with at least 1 felony as well. It looks like he got put into a group home then got kicked out of that group home and placed in a mental hospital for a while. Last I heard is that he is homeless. He destroyed his reputation so badly nobody likes him at all. Rumors went around stating that he is a psycho and a fraud.
In other news I have gotten back into an old.hobby of mine which is running RC Cars. Also I am looking into getting into racing them soon. I will probably start doing that once stuff gets paid off. Already got the rc car setup for racing. I just need to buy a transponder to use at the track.
Once most of the debts are paid off it's time to really push my investments and continue with my expensive hobbies.

Time for another update.
Posted 6 years agoI am making progress on getting things paid off. I moved to another location earlier and have reduced monthly expenses in the process. It looks like in October I am finally going to have a bunch of things finally paid off. Also I am very close to paying off my car as well. Once those things are paid off I am going to have a LOT of extra money since I no longer have to make payments on a bunch of stuff. After that getting everything else paid off by then is going to be very easy due to the avalanche effect. Soon no more debt at all.
Not too long ago I also took on my first full fursuit commission. I am making progress on thay and will post some pics of that soon. It is going rather well and has so far come out a lot better than anything I have made in the past.
I am also considering making conbadges again as well.

I have returned
Posted 7 years agoI have returned after disappearing for a while. Basically a bunch of stuff has happened so here is a big update. This one will be a very long post.
After I sold my condo I got to see how much damage the HOA from hell actually did financially. It was worse than I thought. While I was still living in my old condo the building had foundation problems that were ignored for at least several years. The problems kept getting worse and the HOA would either ignore my complaints or play games to avoid fixing the issue which was something they were required to do according to the documents that I had to sign when I bought the place. During that process they issued 2 special assessments which forced me to pay a very large sum of money on top of the HOA fees. This caused my HOA fees to cost more than the monthly mortgage. Even after paying for these special assessments they still refused to fix the building. They did try to sneak a $12,000 special assessment on top of everything else. Luckilly word got out rather quickly to everyone living in the area and at the HOA meeting a riot almost started from the very angry responses from the other homeowners. That special assessment failed to pass. If it did I would have definitely filed for bankruptcy. I came close due to the other special assessments and other crap they kept trying to push onto me.
Me and the other neighbors in that building got together and fought the HOA. They really did not like us at all and tried to play games. We were also very close to hiring a lawyer to go after them as well. The foundation issue got so bad that support beams were breaking. Also the roof apparently was not built correctly. It was done really cheap. We managed to get the city to help us and go after the HOA. They finally fixed the foundation after the city threatened to sue the HOA. Also code enforcement even issued the HOA a fine as well. After the foundation was fixed the HOA was also forced to replace the roof as well. I sold my condo after the foundation was fixed and while the roof was being replaced. The rest of the buildings probably had similar issues as well. I got out of there before it got REAL expensive. Just before work was started don the roof, part of it did collapse and there was big tarps over the holes.
Around this time I also had to deal with someone who ended up becoming a textbook case of a narcisstic psychopath. He didn't help during this time and actually made the whole process of selling the condo harder than it should have been. He also had a big problem with trying to look like he is rich but in reality he had no money. He also acted like he has to have a high paying job but has no experience or skills that can e listed on a resume. The only jobs he was able to get were at places such as McDonalds and Whataburger. He also didn't last long at those places because they fired him shortly after hiring him. Eventually the police got called and from all of the evidence I can find, he is currently locked up in a mental hospital for life.
After escaping the HOA from hell I have been in the process of cleaning up the financial mess that got created due to clowns running the HOA. I have paid off most of the debts. Some of the smaller ones still exist but I am finally catching up on those and getting them paid off as well. The recovery process from these financial issues has been a painful one but I am slowly recovering. I also had to make my first major repair on my car around this time as well. It got over 100k miles without any issues which is very good. I like my Nissan Versa. The only symptom was that the check engine light came on and I had to get it to turn off to pass inspection at the time. That is when I found out what needed to be replaced and did so before it actually decided to fail and stop running.
During this time I have gotten rather busy dealing with cleaning up financial stuff and for a little while dealing with Mr. Psycho as well. Once Mr. Psycho got picked up by the police I had more time to dedicate to cleaning up a large financial mess. That large mess should be cleaned up very soon. I am now able to start contributing money to my investments which is a very good sign.
Also not too long ago I got a second part-time job to make some money on the side. So for 2-3 hours a day I am getting paid to get a good cardio workout after my regular full-time job. I am now working 60+ hours for 6 days a week. I don't have much free time again but I am making a good amount of money in the process which is going to paying off the remaining debts faster and some contributions to investments.
So now I am mostly free from a bunch of drama I can now continue working on some projects as well even though my free time is still very limited. Also some other good news I have lost even more weight and have gained a lot of strength too. This second job is definitely giving me a good workout at night.
Also I am currently decluttering again as well. Got too much stuff that I simply do not use and just collects dust in a box. I will be getting rid of some things. Currently I have a Wacom Intuos 5 Large tablet that doesn't really get any use right now. It doesn't look like it will be getting any use anytime in the near future. I am tempted to put it up on ebay but I really don't want to have to deal with the scammers there. Ebay has changed their policies to make it easy for buyers to scam the sellers and this usually happens the most with electronics. They give sellers almost no protection against such scammers. Also they would end up also taking about 15% of the final price in fees as well.
Soon I will also be working on rebuilding all 3 of my fursuits. Fox Killer will be getting a full rebuild because he is getting very old. The blue dragon has been due for a rebuild for a very long time. Also going to rebuild the wolf into a full suit as well once the other 2 are done. Once Fox Killer does get rebuilt whatever is left of the old suit will be given away to whoever claims it first and is willing to pay for shipping costs. Also whoever does claim the suit I would like them to fix it up and give him new life. I have done this for my old blue dragon suit which was made using navy blue material. From what I've heard is that it was given new life and is still going to this day.
Shortly I am going to continue working on my digitally animated eyes, animatornic wings and experiment with a voice changer as well.

Big update on a lot of stuff
Posted 7 years agoAround June of this year I finally sold my condo and escaped from HOA hell. I no longer have to deal with idiots mis-managing money and making me pay for their mistakes. I now live closer to work and also no longer have to drive 1+ hours each way for work.
I am finally able to catch up on a lot of stuff after ending some drama that was being caused by a local idiot. It didn't end well for that individual at all.
I have gotten things done and am starting to have free time again. I am finally able to start work on re-building my suits again. I am also going to play around with a small microcontroller-based voice changer and some animatronics along with a set of digital animated eyes. Once the rebuilds are done then the old suits will be retired and available to whoever wants to fix them up and give them new life again.
Also since I am starting to have more free time again I can finally figure out what I can do with my Wacon Intuos 5 tablet. I may play around with it and see what I can do. I might also just go over to Watercolors instead as well.
Also soon I may start hosting tabletop RPGs at my place in January next year.

I happy
Posted 8 years agoI got 3 offers in the 4 days my condo was on the market. I also accepted one of the offers last night. I am finally going to get out of that place and away from the HOA crom hell.
Housing update
Posted 8 years agoWe're going live with the listing tomorrow.
Good news
Posted 8 years agoI've been pre-approved to purchase a larger house I've been looking at lately. Things are looking up.
House for sale
Posted 8 years agoAfter finally getting the HOA to fix the foundation on my condo and fixing all of the internal cracks from the foundation issue. I am finally about to list my place on the market. Finally time to get away from the HOA from hell. Once it is listed on the market I can finally start catching up on other projects and tasks such as renewing my current Cisco certifications and earning additional certifications.
Once I get away from this damn HOA I will have successfully removed all of the toxic elements from my life. The first of toxic elements I've eliminated was getting out of working in a call center. I have actually turned down jobs that pay a lot more than what I make now simply because that job was to basically sit at a desk, wear a headset and answer calls all day long. I refuse to work in another call center again. I can easily write a 10-page essay on how bad of a working environment that is and average turnover in such places is around 50%. The modern day equivalent of a sweatshop.
The HOA has caused a LOT of problems due to mis-management and issuing multiple special assessments because they ignored small problems for years and only took care of them when they became huge and the structure is now about to fall apart. We were very close to filing a class-action lawsuit against the HOA and were consulting with a lawyer just before they finally said that they are going to fix the foundation and roof issues on the building where my condo is at. It took the city threatening to sue the HOA and code enforcement issuing fines to them as well to get them to actually fix the problems with this building. The roof was very close to caving in. This entire ordeal managed to delay the sale by about 2 years.
Once I am free from the HOA from hell I will finally be happy again.
One good thing that has come from the HOA drama and the 2 year delay in the sale of the Condo is that the prices in the area have been going up the whole time.

3D printer and project update
Posted 8 years agoSometime soon after TFF I plan on buying a 3D printer kit and printing 3D objects with it. Also I can print my own enclosures for future projects as well.
Because my house is about to go onto the market soon I've been busy getting the house clean and fixing up minor issues. Soon I will finish my digital animated eyes prototype.
Also finally broke the habit of always registering as a supersponsor and collecting things that just go into a box and collect dust after a con. Been acquiring con souvineirs since 2000 so I have a LOT collecting dust right now. I will most likely continue to register as a supersponsor for Anthrocon but that is for the early room reservation bonus. Also you get free food during the con as well.

More updates and some plans for the future
Posted 8 years agoThe foundation has been fixed and the foundation company sent an engineer to do a final measurement. Now just waiting to receive the engineers reports to show that it has been fixed. Also getting the place ready to be fixed and listed on the market again.
Soon I am going to replace the hardwood flooring with carpet because the hardwood got damaged due to the foundation issues.
For a while going to different cons I have registered as a supersponsor or patron. I am thinking about not doing that anymore. The little souvineirs I have gotten from different cons usually end up in a box collecting dust. After moving my stuff into storage and throwing out a lot of junk in the process I need to not accumulate so much stuff. I also have a box full of badges as well. Also got a lot of con t-shirts that I will probably never wear. Soon they will also become too big since I am also losing a lot of weight. Some of the souvineirs I have collected are special because I had to earn them such as my Performer badge. I will probably still do supersponsor at AC for the early room reservation. I may get rid of some more stuff later on like donate my shirts to the charity auction. Also I plan on putting more of my money into investments and less on collecting souvenirs.

Some updates
Posted 8 years agoLooks like foundation repairs are almost complete. They have finished the repairs for my unit and should finish repairs for the building today. Then on Monday they ae going to check for leaks. Now I am cleaning up the place once more to get it ready for the market. Then it will be sold and I can finally get out of here.
Also I am working on assembling the electronics for the eyes for my suit rebuild. I will post pics when that is done but that will be delayed because I need to finish cleaning up first.

Commissions and other projects
Posted 8 years agoSince I now have access to a 3D printer and plan to buy my own later I am thinking about taking a commission or 2 for a set of digital animated eyes. I am also thinking about putting together a digital voice changer as well. Let me know if you are interested in such commissions.
Soon I am also going to continue work on a larger animatronic wing project. I'll post updates for that as well.

Assembly time
Posted 8 years agoJust needed some 2-56 X 3/8" screws and nuts. Also needed a set of tweezers. Found the required screws and nuta at Elliot's Hardware. Also got the tweezers from Fry's. Now it is time to assemble the circuit and test the eyes.
3D printing
Posted 8 years agoThe 3D printing job for the cases to be used for the eyes have been completed. Now need to find some 2-56 screws. Will check some speciality hardware stores to see if they have the right size screws.
Updates on rebuild
Posted 8 years agoI am getting the needed cases printed on a 3d printer locally. Waiting for the print job to finish then I can make the animated digital eyes. O am also thinking about taking a commission or 2 for a set as well.
Another update
Posted 8 years agoWe won! The HOA has scheduled a foundation company to come by and start repair work on 2/13/17 to fix the foundation for the whole building. Also they are going to fix the roof soon after that.
Now time to get this place on the market again soon and get out of there ASAP.

More updates on the HOA and the home sale
Posted 8 years agoI met with the other owners of the condo building where I live. It looks like the property manager may be getting kickbacks from preferred vendors. Basically hiring certain vendors who do a poor job and charge a much higher rate then the property manager may be getting a percentage of such fees back. Also we are going to consult with an attorney as what to do because it is a lot worse than I thought.
