It’s almost time for work for me. I got notified of my meet and greet being this Monday, and after that I get training dates. Then it’s down to business. I’ll probably drop off the radar if I get the job, seeing as it’s 10 hours days, 6 days a week usually…overnights too lol. I’ll be working with several friends, so that’s nice.

The first couple weeks or so are guaranteed to be pretty draining for me, so I wont be around much. Once I’m used to it I might be able to fit in some time before shifts to draw bits and pieces at a time. I’ll be getting a new car right off the bat, which I’m excited about. Also for sure attending BronyCon and BronyCAN this August as well! This job will definitely help with spending cash. lol

Hey everyone! I made a major update to how pre-orders are being handled, instead of entering your email address and it being a bit messy on my google docs form, I just have a simple page for a “buy now” button. I’ll have your info on my paypal account handy for when the pack is ready to be distrubuted!

For those who already used the google form. There is nothing to worry about, I’ll send out the remaining invoices to you as well. There’s no need to use the new page if you’ve already submitted your email in the old google form.

Well, it's obviously been a while since I've posted anything... don't worry, I'm still kicking. Just got back from Furthest North 2011, had a blast and met a bunch of new totally awesome people, as well hung out with some familiar faces. :D

Art wise, I'm hoping to start back up again soon, recently ponies have infected my life, and that's what I've been doodling a bit of, but not really posting. I might soon. :)

Usually on my days off I'm lazing around the house, getting random drawings done and all that. But since the beginning of May, I got my partial, been using that occasionally, and I've been hanging with my friends nearly every day I've had off and going outside since it's been so warm out!

I haven't abandoned my art, it's just been hard to find time to get something started. xD

Wow! I'm excited. It's warming up outside, I'm 90% of the way to 1000 watchers, and my partial suit from DHC is in the mail on it's way home! :D

It's been pretty darn warm so far this month, way way above normal. I'm not complaining though! Drawing has slowed down a bit because of my lack of creativity. xD I should honestly do a few commission slots or something to maybe motivate me a bit. We'll see... Nothing much is happening or has happened this month. Only a couple more months left until my DHC partial gets started! :D Yes, I'm not sure if I've mentioned it before, but back in Mayish I commissioned a partial suit from Don't Hug Cacti. :P Sooo excited!!!

Still drawing lots, though this month is a busy one at work! This month is my birthday too! I turn 21 on the 23rd. :D

Hmm... not much to update really, it's getting cold outside! My new car is already a year old, I'll have had my tablet for a year next month... time just flies by. I finally got a second monitor, and an LED one at that! Finally can see contrast once again! Also having two monitors is a nice addition, I can finally have IRC open on one, and photoshop on the other! No more missing stuff on the IRC's. :P

As I was in the middle of sketching out some random doodles, my video card fan decided to die. At first I thought someone fired up a little moped outside, turns out it was my video card. So I took the thing out, fiddled with the fan, cleaned it up... no luck. Popped in an old video card to get me by... but that thing is so old and junky. It's max resolution is 1280x1024, which looks horrible on a widescreen monitor. All in all, I don't have my photoshop for a while. :( I tried GIMP on my laptop, but I can't figure it out, plus my laptop was not meant for arting. I hope to pick up a new video card tomorrow, just another cheap one to plug my monitors into.

Oh wait! I have paper and pencils! Perhaps this is an opportunity to use such ancient devices. :o

So yeah... random update to show that I still use this journal thing. :P

Photography has slowed down a lot, well... I haven't stopped taking pictures, just not so much uploading them. Drawing has basically become my main focus on here now. Slowly improving as I go, constantly trying new styles... and as of right now, I'm really enjoying this toony style! :D

Yeah umm... I don't know what else to say, lack of words... I guess that's the extent of my stating-the-obvious journal for the next like two months. XP

I may not be on a lot on the next few days though, as I'm packing and getting ready for Rainfurrest.

It's coming up quickly! I'm starting to get a little nervous for the 17 hour drive ahead of us. :P  tonikoos and I are gonna be hauling our butts down there to our first con! I'm very excited for that! The only thing that has my nerves in a mess is what to expect at the border, as this is my first time across with out family in like 5 years. Trying to keep my mind off that, but I'mma bring my camera and stuff and have some fun! ^.^ Hope to see some of you there. :3

First time to any thing involving more than 3 furries! It was pretty great... I felt a little shy when I first drove up, but within minutes I already had friends, I've never felt so involved with a group that large before. Everyone is so friendly, and I'm kicking myself over how much I've been missing in past years! I can't wait for next year, and the year after... heck, I'm gonna make sure I can make it to as much of anything as I can! There were a few of us who had never been to any gathering before, and they became my best friends throughout the event! That's you guys Phreddy and Suniba! :D

Meeting those few suiters were awesome, so much fun to have around! The artists there were fun to socialize with as well! I managed to come up with a fursona description right on the spot, and  cherushi did my badge... I love it so much!! I think I'm gonna work on a character based on him. ^^

With that said, coming up next for me is Rainfurrest... I guess you could say Furthest North was my warm up, and now I'm super pumped for the trip! I'm not as nervous as I was before. Hope to see some of you guys there!

I've been drawing, I'm making progress. My car reached 6000km. It's hot outside. I'm booked and registered for RainFurrest in Seattle. So far I'm pretty happy. :)

So I've been kinda getting into different things recently, and I thought about getting a pen tablet from Wacom. I figure if I get a pen tablet, that might help me with precise photo edits, as it's obviously easier to use a pen over a mouse when working with photos. It also might bring out my secret artistic side and I could work on improving my drawing skills and such. I also really want to practice on digital coloring of drawings and such, and it's just not practical with a mouse!

So here is my little dilemma... I want a large tablet, as in the new Wacom Intuos4 Large pen tablet. Right off the Wacom site they sell it for $469 USD, unfortunately their online store is for US only. I was looking up Canadian resellers for that large tablet, and I'm seeing a fairly steady price of $699, no matter where I look. I also looked on the US online store at B&H, they have it for an astonishing $419, cheaper than wacom.com! The only thing I'm not sure about is warranty coverage outside US borders. But if anything I will go with B&H. They say on the wacom site that it's 2 years coverage in US and Canada... and since they don't give me an option to be Canadian on their site, I'm assuming it's covered from other US resellers. >.>

Okay, I will... I work nights, midnight till roughly 8:00AM. Coldest part of the night, right? Well, this morning the temperature dropped to -38C with a windchill of -50C. I don't think I need to do any conversions for you guys to know that this is cold. All the emergency exit alarms were going off because they were frozen, the inside staircase (right on the outside wall) had ice all along the railing... My poor 2010 Toyota Corolla had to sit out there in the wide open, not plugged in or anything! She barely started this morning, and lucky me, I'm the only Canadian without a remote starter, I had to sit in my car for about 20 minutes so it could warm up enough to drive. 20 freaking minutes in -50. The little 4 cyl. engine sounded like a damn diesel in like a Ford Super duty. lol

Even on a brand new car, some things just don't work when it's this cold. Here is my list because I'm bored... heh
-wipers frozen down
-brake pedal frozen up (took some force to press down lol)
-doors wont close
-LCD instrument panel had no display
-tire pressure monitor system continually says flat tire
-ABS and stability control had longer delay
-telescoping steering wheel frozen in up position
-all climate control and other various dials frozen in their positions
In other words, it's so damn cold, nothing works. Oh and lol, my favorite part... I drove home doing no more than 20km/h, because my tires froze with slightly flattened bottoms making it feel like I'm driving on square wooden wheels.

WELCOME TO CANADA! :D

It's holiday season, and what better idea than to buy myself a nice gift? :P I've been doing a little research on a general purpose lens, and so far I've fallen pray to the quality and price of the Canon 17-40 f/4.0L. I KNOW! I'm paying off a brand new 2010 Toyota, but I can still squeeze a little out for this baby! Also yes, the L disease is a true infection with no cure. That 70-200 f/2.8L definitely got me.

Alrighty! As you should all know by now, I have that fancy Canon EOS 40D, which in my opinion is the best thing I've ever bought! Just the other day I bought the Canon 580EX II flash to go with it, now that thing is sweet too, but I have yet to really try it out.

But, here comes the real deal... it's Lots of money, it's Luxurious, it's Lenstastical... In a few weeks, I'm buying Canon's 70-200mm f/2.8L lens! Rumor has it, once you go L, you can never go back, it's like the L disease. We'll see... and I'm sure it'll be true. You can't have a 40D without some L glass. I can't wait!
