Prints!
Frankly, I'm a little bummed out that I've sold way more prints of my older work, when my newer work is, well, way better. Maybe that's because I sold the older prints back in FurBid's heyday, but it still gets me down! So I though maybe I'd try to publicise the more recent ones. Surely somebody must appreciate this stuff >.<;
General Audiences:
Fairy: Pretty fairy girl/air sprite, matches Nereid.
Nereid: Pretty Nereid (nymph/water sprite) type girl, matches fairy ^.^
Adult Stuff:
NC-17: It's luverly bondage of Kurt/Nightcrawler from X-Men: Evolution.
Apple's Dance: Ponyboy Apple from Furbidden Realms, dancing for your pleasure ;p
Bigger, Longer...: Slutty kitty Kiyan loves the cock. Also Furbidden Realms.
I'm currently selling colored prints for $7 each (or three for $17) and B&W prints for $4 each (or three for $10). You can get a print of pretty much anything I've ever drawn, on FA or elsewhere - just ask!
These newer prints are made on 210gsm semi-gloss photo paper, expect on the rare occasion that my printer doesn't like printing the colours on that, in which case they are on heavy ultra-white/acid free presentation paper. Seriously, the paper is great - you can feel the black lines standing out if you brush your hand over it. And that, my friends, is sexy. Rrrrrrwr.
Also, Artist wishlist meme!:

» Like a regular wish list on Amazon or whatever, except it's a list of drawings you want but are too afraid to really ASK someone, cannot afford to commission, or do not have time to trade.
» So it's an open request. If someone sees your idea and likes it, they can draw it for you. Ranging from the simple, to the vague, to the downright self-absorbed - but it's okay, because nobody HAS to draw them anyway, they just do so if they want.
» There's no RULES about this. The lists can be as short or as long as you like, but a general word about karma: if you get something drawn for you, maybe it'd be nice to return the favour, if you have the means & the time.
* Big/strong/older women with small/scrawny/younger guys. Femboys are pretty popular these days, but it's still super hard to find women on top in straight sex.
* Lesbian Chauffer! "Chauffer" (I just made it up, I couldn't find a better word) means buttsex with no vaginal penetration.
* Slutty princesses (this one is for Talen too :p). Actually princess and crossdressing-princess-boys are both awesome.

To Infinity, and Some Other Places!
Posted 16 years agoSo, once again it's been a long time since I last bothered to write anything. We've had a world of RL stuff to deal with here - not all of it bad, mind you - including a dead Wacom tablet, a printer that costs more in toner cartridges than a nex copy of itself, and an internet connection that, frankly, eats. Whirlpool is right, fellow Australians: do not trust Dodo.
The good news is, most of it is actually dealt with now. My old Intuos 2 6x8 had a faulty cord, but I sold its corpse to somebody who was interested in fixing it. I was figuring I'd still have to pay about $200 for a secondhand replacement online - not a fun proposition, but I had my parents-in-law wanting to contribute for my birthday, which took a bit of a bite out of the cost.
Then, I scored something I can hardly believe - a used Intuos (1), 9x12, for $68. Sure, it was a bit old and grotty and the plastic sheet needed replacing, but a quick bit of forum digging revealed that you can just as easily flip the thing over (it has now been dubbed "Mocaw"). I cleaned it up but good with a Magic Eraser (best tool for cleaning skin-oils off of computer input devices ever, BTW), and now it works like a dream. And it's 9x12! Like, A4 active area! This is quite possibly the most amazing bargain I've ever gotten.
The extra cash is going toward buying a new modem/router for when we give Dodo the bird (heh) next month and jump ship to Internode's VOIP plan. Local MMO and Steam servers, and a free Sourceforge mirror... rrowr ^.~ Talk about your upgrades.
As for the toner cartridges, it costs about $460 to replace all four with genuine (I have a HP color LaserJet 1600, a birthday gift from my parents specifically so I can do my own prints). No way I can afford that, so I was looking at generic/refilled versions instead. Yes, you usually get screwed buying those, but I consider paying almost $500 for consumables to be pretty well screwed anyway. On a happier note, I realised at least that the colour cartridges I'd had previously were the "introductory" ones that came with the printer (HP, you bastards) which don't last as long.
So then my dad turns up replacements (remanufactured, but from a reputable store) as a birthday gift. I really love my parents; they don't always get "my world", with its interwebs and ar-pee-gees and strange naked animal-people, but they accept it completely. I sometimes think my dad is totally lost dealing with creative types - Mum is an artist too, but she's kind of a hippie sculptor type, totally different to my illustrator/designer-ness - but that just makes it all the more meaningful that he supports me at times like this. My folks are great :3
Damn, what a rambley journal! ^^; I think upgrading my screen resolution has totally messed with my perception of size (you'll probably notice my gallery pics getting bigger too).
ANYWAY, so I printed out a test page (the background-inclusive version of 'Apple's Dance') on proper semi-gloss photo paper, and by gods it is sexy. I forgot that the reason this thing costs so much to refuel is because it prints like a small mechanical god when you treat it right. Seriously, it looks spectacular. and this is terribly important because...
SMASH! The only con I like to/can/can be bothered to attend! I've been part of the Artist Circle for the last two years, and I shall be again this time. Unfortunately it will only be on Sunday, because there was a delay registering and I missed out. Nonetheless! If you are in the country, I'd love to see you there :D
TL:DR VERSION: Dodo suck. I have a drawing tablet again. I can print stuff again! My parents are great. Come to SMASH and buy my stuff!
Luff and kisses,

Marker Paper
Posted 16 years agoDo I have any US/Canadian watchers out there who would be willing to help me acquire art paper suitable for Copic markers?
The story goes like this, basically; my local art store has a fineliner pad - which is beautiful and thick and smooth for my black fineliners/inking, but terrible for colour markers because they won't blend - or a marker pad which is only 80gsm - not much chop for presentation artwork, and the paper tends to wrinkle if I apply multiple layers of markers. I've been searching for new types of art paper, and I decided to look into purpose-designed manga/marker papers. Most of all, I'd like to try Aquabee Manga Artist paper, but I can't find a supplier for it in Australia (they're a Canadian company, from what I can gather).
Dick Blick has helpfully offered to ship it to me for a minimal shipping fee of... $30. That's about AU$45, for those who don't know. They sell the pad for like $6.
So, please... is anybody watching me a helpful NorthAm resident who would be willing to acquire some of this paper for me, and send it over the pond? Fully paid, of course, and maybe with a little artistic rider to say thanks. Offers by PM would be tremendously appreciated.
If not, perhaps some of you can recommend alternative papers you prefer for markers? I need something high-quality, of course, no ageing/fading or bleeding. In needs to be very smooth (so it doesn't break my felt-tips - I'm very heavy-handed when I ink ^^; ), not too glossy (so I can blend markers smoothly), and heavy enough to look and feel like a quality product (I wouldn't want to go lower than about 150gsm). Most importantly, of course, it must be designed to accept markers. Do you know any papers which serve such a purpose? ^_^

Character Design Quiz
Posted 18 years ago...Which I stoled from
Kamicheetah
I'm restricting this to FR characters because I got it from FA, and if I include all my characters every answer would have like sixteen candidates ^^;
Character Design Survey (30 Questions) (usually best for those with numerous characters)
1. How do you generally design your characters?
I usually start with a concept, though often I'm also just playing around with a visual design and it develops. I'd say that a majority of them grow out of roleplays with Talen, where we come up with an idea and flesh it out with a scene or two.
2. How did you decide on your fursona/s species?
Don't have one, don't like them. My species is homo sapiens.
3. What are your 5 favourite species?
Foxes, cats, canids, skunks, squirrels. I'm boring ^^;;;
4. Ok, ok, you can extend it to 10.
Ferrets (minks/weasels/stoats/etc.), badgers, hyaenas, Tassie devils, rats/mice.
5. Have you made characters out of all of these?
Yup, though I'm still working on the devil.
6. Most violent character:
Probably Den, since it's not only her passion but her job, and she has the barbarian rage thing going on. Close contenders would be Shade (a genuine sadist), Caber (who is angry at the entire world by default), and Brynn (who is a punk teenager).
7. Happiest or Nicest character:
Anise. She's profoundly kind (though she's also very sad, so she might be disqualified). Runners up are Heath, Olive, Rellwen, and Jun.
8. Your most personally significant character:
Probably Alannah. She derives a lot from a non-Realms character, "Jesse-Sensei", who was basically a self-insert.
9. Sluttiest character:
Kiyan will never speak to me again if I don't give this to him :p Runner-ups are Lin Yee, Riff, The Pauper, and Heil.
10. 'Unsluttiest' character:
Disregarding minor characters, probably Shade (Wilton outdoes them all, but he's Talen's character). Also Olive, one of the few virgins in the Realms. Heil, Cayenne, The Prince and Chica all protest that they should be here as well, but they are lying.
11. 'Stereotypical' male:
Alannah XD She's such a man, seriously.
12. 'Stereotypical' female:
Anise or Eisha. Or maybe Emiko or Fern. I don't really do "stereotypical", and the stereotypes I know differ from one culture/genre to another, and I'm not sure which one to think of. I'll say Anise because she's the only woman I have ever created who actually wants children.
13. Tomboy:
I'm a bit averse to this word, because I find it condescending. My most manly female character is probably Alannah, followed by Dorian, Kanaye, Den, and/or Brynn.
14. Girlyboi:
Tie between Olive and Cayenne. Runner-ups for Kiyan, Riff, Shinto, Coin, Angora, Eleis, Fall... I have a lot of girly-boys. I loves them.
15. Androgynous/genderless:
Keiran (who is actually a herm - and a small-breasted androgynous one, not the "dickgirl" model). Also Dorian/Chase, who has both male and female personas though she's physically female.
16. Fastest character:
I haven't really compared them all. Maybe Heil, he's much noted for speed rather than strength. Also Eisha.
17. Most muscular:
Den. She's buff as all getout.
18. Thinnest character:
Heil, probably. He's supposed to be kind of wraithlike.
19. Chubbiest/heaviest character:
I don't do fatties ^^; My heaviest character is Den, or possibly Mana (for height), but that's based on size and muscle, not chub.
20. Deformed character:
Caber has a war injury that makes her limp, and that's probably as close as it gets. Damn, I need an amputee or two.
21. Most fun to draw:
Kiyan. He's just so easy.
22. Any Mary-Sues?
Naw, not in FR - it happened well after my Mary-Sue days.
23. Draw pr0n?
Designed the setting for it ^_^
24. Draw one gender more than another?
Nope, I love 'em both.
25. Stuff you don't like to draw:
Muscular males, women subbing to men, fish, avians, "guro" fetishes, genuine loli/shota (like, children, not teenagers), pregnancy, fatties (sorry fat people - I'm one of you, but I just don't find you fun to draw). Oh, and lactation - it's really, really stupid when a female character spurts out her nipples as if that's the equivalent of a male ejaculation. Yuck and dumb XP
26. Stuff you love to draw:
Porn, pinups, bondage, girly boys, manly women, homosexuality (either kind), crossdressing, S&M, raep, designs/costume designs.
27. Species you see mostly in the fandom:
Foxes, felines, canids, skunks, dragons.
28. Species you see least:
Ugly things, avians, fish and other sea-based critters, reptiles that aren't dragons, marsupials other than kangaroos.
29. What do you want to see more in the fandom?
More dominant women in straight sex. I mean, like, fully dominant, not just enthusiastic - anime-related fandoms have a sad tendency to perceive a woman as being "on top" if she's doing anything other than crying. I love it when I actually see a woman in control of sex for once.
30. Anyone you want to tag?
Nuh!

Nuh!
Commission infos!
Posted 18 years agoOkay, here's my full commission info, since the page allocated to that here is woefully inadequate XP Enjoy, and if you have any questions, please feel free to ask ^_^ As of the moment, I am actively looking to step up my commission work, as my current situation means I can devote as much of my time to art as necessary ^^
(PS: This has been adapted from the html version. If a bit of code isn't working properly, don't worry, I'll be fixing it soon ^^; )
FOX LEE - Commission Rates & other info
Last updated 2009-06-24
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Please read the entirety of this file before asking for a commission from me (well, you can skip the KiSS bit if you only want a picture, or vice-versa). I won't be held responsible for any disappointment if you haven't read my terms correctly. All prices are in US dollars, since (whilst I am Australian) most of my customers come from America.
Have a nice day! ^_^
DRAWINGS
- - - - - - - -
Prices listed are for one to three characters, none or VERY simple background. I'll do chibis for half-price, since they've proven to be a lot easier (especially for colouring!).
PRICES:
* SKETCH - $10
Original sketch done in mechanical pencil on bleedproof marker paper (this is all I have at the moment, but if you want to buy me more, go ahead ;p). You also get any other sketches I might do whilst trying to get a "feel" for your character.
* SKETCH + INK - $20
Sketch as above, plus clean inked copy in black felt pen. The sketch and ink are separate - I usually use a lightbox for inking but I can also put inks down on the original paper if'n you want. It does tend to fade a little when I erase the pencil lines, though.
Don't be expecting anything fancy with the inking - I don't use brushes or anything - but if you're not getting it coloured I can give it a pretty nice two-tone look by blacking in the dark areas.
* SKETCH + INK + COLOUR - $50
Sketch and ink as above, plus colouring. I know there's a big price hike here, but to be honest, I don't enjoy colouring much and it takes AGES. If my prices are too high, I don't mind you commissioning another artist to colour an inked work (but I want to see the result! ^_^). Anyway, there are three ways I can colour something. If you want any other colouring media, I'm willing to try them out, but I can't guarantee my skill with them (especially paints). And you'll have to pay for them, since I don't own any ;p
--* CG: Full airbrush shading (as seen on most of my fully-coloured pieces) or anime-style "cel" shading (as seen on my KiSS bases, though obvioulsy not pixel-art), whichever you prefer. You get a high-quality print of the pic, and a 300dpi digital copy sent by e-mail or linked to on a web server. Be warned that CG projects usually take me a very long time.
--* Markers: My new medium - I finally saved up for a full 144-piece set of Copic Ciaos. My skill with these is intermediate, but they're a very forgiving medium, and I have confidence ^_^
--* Pencil: Derwent Studio. I'm not abysmally bad with these, but I'm not good at blending colours smoothly. I can try to combine them with markers to smooth them out, but it's not something I've practiced, so you're taking your chances ^^;
EXTRAS:
* One extra character: Sketch $1 / Ink $2 / Colour $5
Add as many as you like, but bigger pictures take longer. More characters means more difficulty with posing, so be flexible!
* Background: Sketch $5 / Ink $8 / Colour $15
With backgrounds, try to avoid mechanical/geometric objects. In short, I am not good with straight lines.
* Other: Call me and we'll talk!
KISS DOLLS
- - - - - - - - - -
NOTE: Please check OtakuWorld if you need info on KiSS dolls. I'm assuming that you already know the basics!
Prices listed are for a classic KiSS set (a dress-up "doll" of ONE of your characters). See "extras" for other options.
* BASIC SET - $50
Includes base doll with wallpaper-style backdrop, snap-to code (makes clothing "snap" into place when placed on the base doll), blink code (simple animation which makes the doll periodically blink while you play with it), and two outfits. An "outfit" is 3-6 items of clothing (eg shirt, pants, socks, boots) plus a few accessories (necklace, hat, etc.).
* EXTRA OUTFITS - $5 each or $12 per three.
* EXTRA HAIRSTYLES - $2 each or $5 per three.
* EXTRA FACIAL EXPRESSIONS - $1 each or $2 per three.
* COLOUR SWITCHING - $2 per five colourswitching items.
* SOUND BYTES - Negotiable.
* COMPLEX CODING (doll reactions, bodyshaping, etc) - Negotiable.
* SPECIAL SETS - Negotiable
If you want something other than a paper-doll style KiSS set - like a board game, a modular 'build-your-own-something-or-other' set, a Hentai Doll that you can interact with, or any of that fancy stuff, contact me to discuss a price.
* BASE/TEMPLATE ONLY - $35.
A pixel-drawn, fully-shaded base of an appropriate size for a KiSS doll, no clothes/accessories included. Includes a hairless version in case you want to make your own hairstyles, and similar variants if you want/need them (without eyes, for example, or showing layered areas). Anatomically correct or censored, as you like. You can make your own doll with it (whether it's KiSS or just a pixel picture) or get somebody else to, or just use it as a reference for your character.*
PAYMENT
- - - - - - -
I accept (in order or preference):
* PayPal - http://www.paypal.com
Everybody knows PayPal. I will not charge extra to cover PayPal's credit card transaction fee, but please note: I CANNOT ACCEPT PAYPAL FOR "ADULT" TRANSACTIONS! It's against their policy and, while I don't think I have much of a chance of being sprung, I'm not going to risk the fine/account suspension/my credit card being plundered for damages.
* PayMate - http://www.paymate.com.au
Much like other online payment systems, though it does have the handy bonus of allowing you send cash (via credit card) without joining.
* Western Union Money Transfer/Moneygram
I believe these cost around $15 to send, so they're not much chop if you aren't buying much. They are immediate, however, and can be traced. Good if you're spending lots and can't send a cheque/money order.
* Cheque/Money Order/International MO/Western Union MO
All the same to me. My bank charges me AU$10 to cash cheques or money orders from outside Australia, so be prepared to ad a little extra if you need to use these methods and are not Australian.
* Cash
Conceal it well, make sure it's in AUSTRALIAN currency unless you want to add extra for me to exchange it myself, and don't expect me to take responsibility if it goes missing in the post. Cash is a last resort, and is sent at BUYER'S RISK!
* Trade Goodies
Normally I won't accept payment in items, but there are certain things I'm looking for. Check my wishlist (http://hypercrescendo.net/foxlee/fl.....g/wishlist.txt) for stuff I'm currently willing to trade for.
* Picture Exchanges
I only accept these in certain circumstances, and I'm very picky. Don't assume that I'll accept an exchange - contact me first! I'm usually too busy to accept exchanges.
* Other
If you want to use a method of payment not mentioned here, let me know what it is, and I'll see if I can accept it. For gawd's sake, though, Ask BEFORE you send it! ^^; I'll do my best, but I can't guarantee anything!
SHIPPING
- - - - - - -
* Unless you are located in Australia, I ask that you pay for the shipping of any commissions you purchase from me. Shipping costs will be calculated on a case-by-case basis, so you pay as close to the exact cost as possible. If you're curious, you can check Australia Post's postage calculator to see how much yours should cost. For quick reference for those in the US, postage will generally be no more than $1.50 or so.
* I can also offer Express or Registered mail if you like, but these will obviously cost more. Also, I don't recommend Express Airmail, since the delivery time is only one day sooner at best, the same at worst.
* Artwork is mailed flat, inside an archival-quality plastic sleeve taped to a cardboard backing board, with "DO NOT BEND!!!" written all over it (three exclamation points and all). I have never lost a piece in the mail, and I don't intend to start now!
* If you're buying more than one picture, only count shipping costs for one. Unless you're buying a whole sketchbook or something, in which case contact me so we can discuss what it will cost.
* KiSS dolls normally don't have postage costs. If you want a hard copy on CD or want the base drawings or base designs for the doll posted to you (if you chose to have the doll hand-drawn), refer to the above notes.
CONTENT
- - - - - - - - - - -
* I draw furries, humans, animals, elves, demons, just about anything. However, it's not a good idea to ask me to draw technology - like machines or cars or guns or the like - because I quite frankly suck at it. I'm also not terribly good at birds. And my style is anime-ish, like it or leave it; I won't accept request to draw in a different style. You commission an artist for their style as well as their skill, after all ^^;
* In the case of erotic work, I will draw any pairing or combination of genders (including herms), any rating from G-XXX. I will draw any activity or fetish you wish, except those listed below (I reserve the right to add new fetishes to the list at any time, though obviously I won't take your money if you want something I won't draw):
--* Scat, watersports, anything diaper-related
--* "Guro", gore, snuff, etc.
--* Loli/shota (pre-teen individuals, if you're not familiar)
--* Vore
--* Pregnancy, lactation
--* Birthing, unbirthing or ovulation
--* Ridiculously large sexual organs*
* If you want to request that one of my characters be involved in your picture, that's fine; however, I reserve the right to refuse to draw my characters in derogatory or out-of-character situations (no way will I draw Tianah as a sub or Aris as a dom, for example, or Cayenne or Riff with a female).
OTHER STUFF
- - - - - - - - - - -
If you want to know something not covered here, e-mail me!
* I want to make it crystal clear that commissioning a picture from me DOES NOT GIVE YOU THE RIGHT TO SELL PRINTS OF IT! You may sell the originals if you wish, since they are your property, but I retain the copyrights to the artwork. I don't mind if you make your own prints of the picture for PERSONAL use (ie. not for profit purposes), and I don't mind if you post a (low-res) digital copy of the image on your website (so long as the artwork is credited to me, of course); however, you may NOT sell prints, or charge people to see the digital copy. By commissioning me, you automatically agree to these terms - no exceptions. If you want to purchase rights to reproduce the image, drop me an e-mail and we'll talk (but boy will that cost you! ;p).
* I don't mind you editing a piece I've drawn for you - colouring a pic yourself, for example, or hiring somebody to colour my lineart, or using a base I've made for you in a pixel doll or KiSS set. Though, as stated above, I won't allow you to sell or otherwise profit from the edit - distributing for non-profit is okay, of course, so long as I am credited as the original artist. I'd really rather you not do anything to the original, but I also can't stop you since it's yours ^_^;
* If you own the character(s) depicted in the piece, obviously you retain the rights to those character(s); respecting that right, I won't make prints of the piece myself (or include it in portfolios or whatever) unless you give me permission. I do expect to be able to add the picture to my own website(s), though, and I assume that in commissioning me, you give me permission to do so.
* Please note that unless I've done business with you before, I don't start work on the picture until I recieve payment. Sorry, but I've had some bad experiences in the past ^^;
(PS: This has been adapted from the html version. If a bit of code isn't working properly, don't worry, I'll be fixing it soon ^^; )
