I blame Archie Comics
General | Posted 17 years agoBack in 1993, when I was 15 (god, that makes me feel old!), Archie Comics published a comic called Conservation Corps, about four animals that are transformed into humanoid forms to fight threats to the environment. There was Stone Hedgehog, Fire Fly, Water Buffalo, and Greenhorn the rhino. We're not talking high concept here, but at the time I enjoyed the series. In the second issue, they introduced a new member, the female Sky Shark who could control air. But it was the third and final issue that changed my life. After the two stories in the issue (the second of which was continued but never finished), there were a series of pin-ups. One of which was Sky Shark, looking hotter than any character in a Archie comic has the right to look. It was signed by Amanda, who may be Amanda Conner. Seeing that picture at such an impressionable age was probably what gave me my liking for Furry art, although I've only recently accepted it. So anyways, that's why I'm here.
