BUSINESS IS DIRE - PATRONS OR I HAVE TO QUIT
General | Posted a year agoTL;DR : If I can't make up for lost of Patrons, I will be forced to quit making art indefinitely.
My goal is to get above $700 per month MINIMUM or I will have to quit making art to survive
https://www.patreon.com/foxmcfly
The numbers:
- My rent & basic utilities cost me $920 per month.
- As of writing this, my current Patreon income is only $557 (that's $363 short- every month)
For perspective, the poverty line in Missouri is $1,063/Month, and I am making half that.
- This means that I need, at minimum, $150 more just to pay rent on the 1st of each month,
and have to find $213 before the utilities are due near the middle.
- I am given $290 in food stamps which basically is my only way to buy groceries each month, or I could not afford to eat.
(food stamps are given to those in extreme poverty so they don't starve- a debit card that only works for grocery items)
- Last month, I worked a total of 201 hours (46 hours a week).
- To be able to lead even the most meager life, covering taxes, expenses, rent, food, etc.
I would need to be making closer to $1,500 a month ($18k a year).
What does that mean?
- It means that I am forced to beg for discounted emergency work, which keeps pushing back, delaying, or at worst adding to the very long queue of art I already owe. This strains/damages my relations with my regular customers, and scares away new ones.
How do you fix it?
- I desperately need PATREON PATRONS. People donating small amounts like $5-10 each month are how I pay my rent/expenses.
Without patrons, I would need to take on $1,000+ a month in commissions. And I neither have a fan base that wealthy, nor enough demand to even make that possible. So I seek those of you who enjoy what I make- Animation, line art, and other art forms not supported on FA. Without Patreon patrons like you, I would have been homeless since 2015.
What are your options
- Either I get my Patreon income up above $700-800 per month, or I will have no choice but putting my art on hold indefinitely and getting some sort of work elsewhere. But that may not work either.
"Why don't you get a REAL JOB"?!
- I had a "real job" in college, the year my eczema first became too unbearable to leave my bed- which cost me my job, and effected my grades. Since then, my mental and physical disabilities have gotten much worse. I do what I love- My art isn't just what I am passionate about, it's also one of the few things I feel I can do fairly reliably to survive. I don't think I would last long in retail, food service, or other "normal" jobs.
"What about welfare or other government assistance?"
- Thank god I at least have food stamps, but that doesn't work for anything else but groceries. If we lived in a state where welfare wasn't a joke, or in a country that took better care of its poor, this wouldn't be an issue. Missouri is very "If you can't work 12 hours in a factory each day for minimum wage, you're a burden on the billionaires and don't really deserve to live". And we are about to enter an era where the President wants to put corrupt narcissist billionaires into the cabinet. And that's not good for the poorest of us- in case you need a reminder how bad things were in 2019. My ex-wife is even more mentally disabled than I am, and even with a lawyer who was 100% certain she'd win her case, after 2 year of trying, even with the state doctors saying she's not fit for work, the judge denied her and she has to start over.
So welfare for me is not an option. Even if I applied (AGAIN yes I applied when I was bedridden and unable to move and was DENIED) I'd be waiting a year or two to see the same horrible judges. Meanwhile, I could be homeless on any given month.
I have been fighting to survive since 2019, and things just keep getting worse.
If I hadn't gotten sick for a full year during the pandemic- that was the year things were supposed to equalize.
And then it all went to hell, and I went from "almost out of the hole" to the earth swallowing me deeper than ever-
and now the dirt is falling in on me and I may not survive. Or at least my art business might not. God I don't want that.
This is what I have wanted since I was a kid, and wasted 8 years of college on. But it's looking grim.
This job is what I want more than anything. And I don't think I'll last long at any conventional job with my disabilities.
If you have the ability to pledge to keep me going, please, I am desperately in need of your support.

Divorce official on our 9th Anniversary
General | Posted a year agoToday is Lina's and my 9th anniversary...Today we have officially separated as a couple. We had a brief ceremony, annulling our vows verbally, before tossing my wedding ring and her wedding pendant into the fountain where we originally said our wedding vows 9 years ago.
Before that, I spent the morning blubbering like a lost child. ðŸ˜It's gonna be a harder day than I thought. But this is why I wanted to make a thing of it. We so desperately need the closure.
We've known each other almost 11 years, married for 9 of it. About 8 of it have just been hardship; The struggles came fast and hard when my dad lost his house- the one we were living in at the time. Eviction. Then our next landlord retired a couple years after we moved into our first real place, and sold his property. Again, eviction. Trump. Lina quitting work because of ptsd. My eczema hell. Covid. Lina's and my feedback loop of mental decline. Trying to get her welfare approved. All while struggling to run 3 independent businesses while PayPal and MasterCard are trying to destroy the industries I work in. The uncertainty of a.i. tech. Strong and stable people have killed themselves for 1/10th the shit we've managed to live through. All the while both dealing with health issues and absolutely barren poverty.Lina wanted to go in 2020 and she stayed with me when I couldn't budge an inch without screaming in pain.
Couples therapy can only do so much. We as people have been so utterly ravaged and devastated as individuals. Even the two best friends who are a one in 10million match in that regard, can't heal and move forward when live is constantly making new wounds. Lina has often changed too much for me, and I haven't really changed enough for her.We beat the national average marriage by a year. And we're still friends after all the horseshit live has dumped onto us, all the mistakes we've made, all the fights, and all the baggage. We were never were gonna last forever. But we took a gamble on making it work. And for better and lots and lots of worse, we did. I am proud of Lina for being my first real girlfriend, and wife. We were best friends for a decade, and I don't know if that will change over time, but I will love her till the day memories fade away and my atoms are returned to the universe.
My wife had this to say:
"I appreciate your messages to me and to the group, and I've been struggling to draft a response. I want to be entirely kind and not air any of our dirty laundry, but there's a part of me that feels it's a bit disingenuous to do so as we are divorcing and all. I think it's better to explain the situation to my people in broad strokes, avoiding inflammatory language but explaining why I asked to leave. For all of you out there, there's nothing here that I haven't said to his face, and I'm not interested in harming anyone or making anyone choose sides. Be friends with whoever you like, I don't have any malice or aggression towards Fox. Maybe a little, but more in the "I'm an animal that's been caught in a bear trap and I just don't know how to deal with the pain" kind of way? Not the kind of pain that turns into lasting hatred, I'm more just stressed and sad.Life isn't kind, nor is it cruel. It isn't gentle, nor is it brutal. It just is - and by being so, it is all of the above in turn. No one can control who they are or how the universe affects them, the only thing you can control is how you react to it. For the most part, I think we did okay. I loved Fox with all my heart and I did my best to make his dreams come true. I don't always feel like he did the same, but I will always remember the times he went above and beyond for me. Those memories, now bittersweet, will stay for a lifetime.I've loved our trips, seeing NASA and theme parks and aquariums. I've loved our talks, bonding over shared experiences and interests. I've loved the road trips and days home, keeping busy or doing nothing. I've loved sharing music and film and philosophy. But there's so much that hurts. Most of the pain was out of our control. The evictions blindsided us, as did the changes to payment providers and platforms that made work a nightmare. We couldn't have predicted the pandemic, the shift in politics that made me feel unsafe in my own country, or his condition leaving him bedridden for that year. We couldn't have predicted that my coping mechanisms for dealing with stress would break down leaving me disabled, or that the ways I chose to heal would drive wedges between us. I can't blame him for getting sick, nor for struggling to deal with the stress. Some of the pain could have been avoided - some of what I needed as far as lifestyle and living conditions was a nonstarter for him, and I acquiesced without thinking of how it would affect me long-term. I decided to hope for improvement instead of advocate for myself. I decided to keep my own needs on the back burner rather than speak up and risk conflict. At the end of the day we're just different people who have grown further apart, and the timing was terrible. As the pandemic made me more fragile, it made him more cynical. As I sought to cast off the shackles of shame and really find myself, a few poorly chosen jokes put those shackles right back on. As I needed more emotional support, he was in a position to provide less. I wasn't strong enough to endure criticism or negativity from him without taking damage, and so every slight felt like I was being told I'm unworthy, even if an apology eventually was issued.I'm sure I'll recover, and so will he. If he didn't have a good head on his shoulders, I wouldn't have befriended him, let alone married him. I still love him, but I feel so wounded and likely will for a long time. I am still grateful for the opportunities and new experiences we've shared in, but there's a lot of familiar trauma in there too. I will always be glad we had a relationship where we could talk about anything, but it doesn't mean much if I didn't feel like I'd be heard.Sometimes two lives touch and affect each other forever. I think that was the case here, and honestly I'm still trying to decide if it was a good thing. I'd like to think so.I'm going to be moving in with my new partners starting this week - we've known each other for nearly a year now, and I've made clear my intention to stay with them forever as long as we work together well long-term. I'm not going to ask them to stay with me if I'm not good for them, and I set the expectation that I'll fight to keep them happy but I won't hurt myself in the process anymore. I'll be very busy in the next few weeks moving everything into their apartment. I'm not asking for anyone to stay away - on her contrary, he and I both need help and support, emotional and otherwise. All I'll ask is that you don't talk to us about what the other is doing. It's not like we're going no-contact, and we're not the kind of people to hide things from each other, even if we are going to be establishing new boundaries. I love you guys, and thank you for being patient with us as we recalibrate."
The following month will be brutal: my now ex-wife moving in with her girlfriends little by little, me trying to reorganize my business affairs, and hopefully workong on animation and other things to interest more support of Patrons.
I stand on the brink of either improving my life and my work and business, or further deviation to god knows what end. So I greatly appreciate those of you continuing to support me so I have the opportunity to salvage what's left of my life, and my artistic passions.
I will continue to submit art and updates as I can during this hard time. Thank you for your support and understanding.
I love you all,
- Fox

Suspension Explained
General | Posted 5 years agoAs of today, my one month suspension from Furaffinity was lifted.
Why was I suspended?
It was because of something I posted 3 whole years ago, a video featuring a fursuiter performing a "Striptease".
However, they only strip off the fursuit to reveal full body spandex coverings, and their mask remains on. They caress themselves while dancing/posing a bit, and that's all. While this video was intended to be sexy, it meets the standards of YouTube, Patreon, and most government regulations as suggestive, but NOT pornography.
I appealed with this argument to the moderators, but they insisted that this was technically pornography by their definition:
"Pornography is defined as the depiction of erotic behavior intended to cause sexual excitement."
While I understand their logic there, they added "Upon review of the content, I have determined that the video does violate our rules and you were penalized appropriately." even though I was also charged with "photography featuring sex toys (there were none in the video).
And the fact that they escalated this to final warning before permanent ban for such a grey area offense, posted 3 years ago, and with an erroneous charge... I just think it's excessive.
Actions I'm taking
I don't want to disobey the rules. Between this and my defunct old clean account, I have been on FA since 2008. I have poured money into ads and it's been a part time to full time job off and on since 2010. I have stuck by FA all this time, and it has been my main source of community and income for over a decade. While I am not giving up on making sexy fursuit content, I won't be posting it here. Depending on permissions I get, I may be able to post updates, but not links. We'll see what I can do.
In the meantime, I'm removing any and all old links to videos that could be considered questionable. I will leave the posts, but changing the thumbnails to a "content redacted" and link to this journal, leaving the posts up for historical record and evidence keeping for future references.
Final thoughts
1. I am happy to conform with the new rules, but I feel this was not handled well (harsh punishment for a 3 year old post, escalation, disregard, erroneous charge, and the gray area of the whole matter etc.)
2. I hope FA will better clarify what is and isn't acceptable to post BEFORE nearly banning someone. We as users deserve to be kept safe from losing our hard earned accounts/watchers as much as we are kept safe from abusive posts.

Artist Beware - Years of begging and he can't take the hi...
General | Posted 5 years agohttps://www.reddit.com/r/ChoosingBe.....take_the_hint/
This guy *Redacted1 (and *Redacted2 , an alt he used to harass me after the fact) has been asking for a comic collab (he writes a story, someone else does the art)...
I tried being polite, offering advice, and trying to explain why people probably won't take him up on it the way he's approaching it.
I was met with petty, juvenile, entitled, and narcissistic replies trying every kind of guilt and blame trick you'd expect from a badly raised 6 year old trying to get a mommy to buy them a toy. In his own words, he's been trying this shit for literally "YEARS", so much so that he has a damned PDF handout explaining why it's not free art and how he'll only accept "No" for an answer if it doesn't meet a list of excuses he gets constantly...
Take my advise *Redacted, you have 3 options:
1. Learn to play nice with others, make friends actually interested in your story, and try to work with them.
3. Respect these artists enough to pay them what they're worth to get what you want, like everyone else.
2. Learn how to draw your own damn self and do it on your own.
And to anyone else out there, I love helping others. I tried over the course of eight notes here on FA to talk to this person.
The first 5-6 were actually me trying to be constructive though declining to collaborate on the actual project.
I believe in collaboration and community, but that doesn't mean you can just send me (or any artist) a note with demands and expect to get them on board. Collaboration is like consensual sex; both people have to want it, both people have to contribute, and if it works out, it's a lot of fun whether you're making money or not. But if one says "I want you to shit on my chest and cum in my ear" and the other person says "I'm not into that", then no amount of explanations, guilt, or harassment is gonna get that to happen.
If you have a request, or a collab idea, just throw it out to an artist you like, maybe you'll find someone to work with... You're not a bad person for wanting something you maybe can't afford. But if that person says "NO" or has it posted that they don't do that, then don't. Respect them, their time, their work, and their choices as you would want to be respected. And if you "don't understand why you can't just do whatever you want regardless of the feelings of others", then you might just be a narcissistic asshole too.
Be safe out there,
- Fox

Be safe out there,
- Fox

I'm not quite dying
General | Posted 6 years agoSo I got my ultrasound and blood tests. The good news (after they bruised up both my hands digging around with needles to find a vein, and poked 3 different holes. Most traumatic blood draw I've ever had.)... I DON'T have Hepatitis. But the pains have been because my liver IS enlarged from 'Not Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease'. Treatable with diet and exercise, but the pains aren't going anywhere for a while and I can't really eat any carbs or sugar for a long LONG time...
I'm still dealing with a lot of pain, but the ultrasound didn't show anything in my gallbladder, ducts, liver, or right kidney.
My skin looks a little better (not good, but better), and I've lost at least 16 pounds in a month, so maybe in a year I'll be slimmer with better skin and no more pain. Hard to keep up hope after 11 years of this shit, but I try to.

Failed Health...
General | Posted 6 years agoHi everyone,
Not all of you know I've been battling a skin condition for about 11 years now. It ranges from mildly irritating (on a good day) to the inability to move without suffering- covered in raw or infected lesions (on a bad day). Today was a bad day...
I've tried dozens (if not hundreds) of remedies, drugs, 'tricks and tips' from friends, natural cures, diets, and doctors over more than a decade, with only some progress, but all signs point to something wrong internally.
In the last month or so, I've been to see my doctor twice, went to the emergency room once, and I'm currently waiting on the results of an ultrasound of my abdomen for increased pain in my liver area.
Given the symptoms and health history, I've been fearing the absolute worst. I've not given up entirely, but between the pain of my skin and my insides, and spending more than a couple days terrified for my life, it's been extremely hard not to feel hopeless.
I'm writing this partially to apologize for the content being slow this month and for the last few months. But also partially because I need to vent some of my feelings it into the void.
For those I've let down by making you wait for art so long, I'm sorry. Please know that I've not forgotten you. Life has often forced me to take more work than I can produce, and it's been tough just keeping up. If I make it out of this alive and functional, I'll keep going with my work til whenever I can't anymore.
I love all of you, and if something happens to me, Lina will let you know.
Thank you for letting me be a part of making your fantasies a little more real.
I'll continue to post as I am able.

Top 10 Sexiest Mascots at Disney Parks
General | Posted 8 years agoWhat this is all about
Just for fun, I thought I'd like to list my own personal favorite sexy Disney mascots at the parks (and anywhere Disney vacationing hosts official mascots of its characters). I know that's not their primary intention, but it can be a side effect, especially if a person happens to be attracted to people in fursuits. Lucky for us, Disney mascots are always at least 18 years of age as a policy.
NOTICE: PLEASE RESPECT ALL MASCOT PERFORMERS, DO NOT PHOTOGRAPH, PROPOSITION, OR TOUCH THEM INAPPROPRIATELY, AND BE RESPECTFUL OF THEM AND OTHERS AROUND THEM.
The Rules
- This is my own opinion, and ins't serious commentary on Disney, it's characters, or park mascots... It's just for fun.
- The criteria for "sexiness" will be based on 3 things: face/padding/design, how reveling the wardrobe is of the performer, personality/behavior and for that character.
- Face characters like Tinkerbell, and parade background dancers/showgirls will be excluded from this list.
Especially the third one, as about half the dancers' wardrobes are so sexy that there aren't enough slots for them on this list (See honorable mentions).
- I will be using specific wardrobes, versions, or event examples for some of these characters. (E.g. Mickey would have made it on this list if it were not for the example used).
My person top 10
Starting at the bottom and finishing with #1 being the sexiest...
#10 Miss Bunny - If you remember her seductive scene from Bambi, it's not hard to get some fun fantasies stuck in your head about her: http://www.charactercentral.net/C17.....MissBunny.aspx
#9 Mickey Mouse (One specific example),
Mickey wouldn't normally be on this list, as he's one of the most non-sexy, least-sexual characters I can think of at the parks.
But being that Mickey is most often played by a female, there are just some photos that appear to be a curvy Minnie actress happened to swapping roles. Specifically these photos. The curviest, leggiest Mickey ever:
http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6034.....d2ccefb1_b.jpg
http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5232.....66aafd1b_b.jpg
#8 Nick Wilde and Judy Hopps (Zootopia)
Tied for this slot, they're just adorable, and sweet, and fluffy, and I can't help but want to just take them to bed:
http://www.kennythepirate.com/wp-co.....dventure-2.jpg
Go find some HD video of them and tell me you don't want furpile time.
#7 Reindeer (From the Disneyland Paris Christmas parades, not the old doofy doorknob-nosed WDW ones)
If you're wresting with weather or not you're gay/bi enough to be attracted to male fursuiters... these gentlemen might decide that for you.
They don't have tight suits, they don't have sexy attitudes, but I can't but help get excited thinking about these 8ft tall hunks of fluffy muscle.
http://www.charactercentral.net/C26....._Reindeer.aspx
#6 Clarabelle Cow (Old and New versions)
She doesn't dress too sexy, but she's curvy, medium height, shows a little leg, and is just as cute and sassy in character as Minnie.
The old version has the sexiest bedroom eyes, and the new version is just softer, cuter, and a bit more balanced between cute and sexy.
Old Version: https://img00.deviantart.net/6f06/i.....deviarty47.jpg
New version: http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4538.....ef3ab15f_b.jpg
#5 Mrs. Incredible (The Incredibles)
She's just a curvy hot babe... and usually played by a guy for those of you with a Kigurumi cross-dressing fetish
http://www.charactercentral.net/C10.....ncredible.aspx
#4 Gypsy Moth (A Bug's Life)
She's just sweet, and cute.... and other than a head piece, wings, and something to cover her butt/pussy, she's essentially just a shiny spandex suit, head to toe. Rawr...
http://www.charactercentral.net/C34.....xar_Gypsy.aspx
#3. Clarice Chipmunk (From "Three Chips and a Miss"), multiple outfits
Poor Clarice dosn't get enough love here in the US to be a staple like she is at Disneyland Paris and Tokyo. In the cartoon, she's a flirty lounge singer with crushes on both Chip and Dale. And that sassy, sexy, "by all means, stare and enjoy" attitude absolutely shines through in the park character's acting. Not to mention her bedroom eyes, soft fluffy body suit, and just enough padding to give her extra curves. To top it off, most of her suit is skin tight, and her low-cut, bare-backed, and semi-leggy dresses are almost enough to make Jessica Rabbit jealous. The only reason she's not higher up on the list is that her wardrobe, though sexy, is always fairly modest and she doesn't quite show off leg the way the two about do.
Clarice wants us to see up her dress for most of this parade: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=To0Sqey3OeA&t=2s
Beach http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6055.....b8e19b40_b.jpg
She has almost as many outfits as Minnie: http://www.charactercentral.net/C38.....s_Clarice.aspx
Damn... https://pbs.twimg.com/media/C9ivHu8.....z2yu.jpg:large
#2. Madame Upanova (Ostrich from Fantasia), as seen in Spectromagic and other parades.
Her behavior on screen is a silent, extremely graceful, and sexy creature. Her adorable face and makeup are alluring, but she shows about as much leg as Disney will allow for a mascot. Her versions have varied over the years, but the Spectromagic version inspired my very first orgasm. And they're usually played by men, for those of you with a TG disguise or cross-dressing fetish.

Easter Parade http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4405.....2f028c19_b.jpg
One of the ealier even LEGGIER versions http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-kFcYF4Yzy...../ostriches.jpg
#1. Minnie Mouse (Multiple Outfits), especially one's that expose a lot of leg and offer a curvier Minnie.
Minnie is one of my very first crushes as a kid, and still is. The cartoon character and her high voice can be kinda obnoxious, but sweet, non-speaking, sexy, sassy, real-life minnie is just too cute. Her makeup makes her into a cute furry girl-next-door type. And her black (sometimes shiny) spandex arms and legs elevate her from "crush" to "fantasy girl". Even though Upanova gave me my first orgasm, Minnie was the first female "human" I was ever sexually attracted to. Often, minnie is played by a 5 foot skinny woman, so any time I find pics of a thick, curvy, or tall minnie, I am VERY pleased, especially if she's a dancer with nice legs.
Minnie wants you to see up her dress too! (She does like 8 of these high kicks in one video) https://app.box.com/s/fljpq58vlhmzs.....8thc7qz657uv5i

Castaway Cay - My favorite: https://static.afbeeldinguploaden.n.....3/EUxjdTVO.jpg
Same at Cape May: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DLIDUxiUEAAe9wD.jpg
So many outfits: http://www.charactercentral.net/C4_.....nnieMouse.aspx
Honorable mentions (that were either didn't make the list due to the rules, or because they didn't quite make it into the top 10):
Tinkerbell (Basically, she's just a playboy bunny without the ears): http://www.charactercentral.net/C26.....inkerBell.aspx
Speaking of bunnies: https://i.pinimg.com/originals/4f/c.....f78fc8ee11.jpg
(And the kitty girls, and the leopard girls, and the butterfly girls, and.... just all the sexy leggy parade showgirls!)
Jessica Rabbit - Love the outfit, HATE that "blow up doll" mask: http://farm8.static.flickr.com/7430.....fe72832d_b.jpg
Robin Hood - http://www.charactercentral.net/C87.....RobinHood.aspx
Rabbit - http://www.charactercentral.net/C59.....ds_Rabbit.aspx
Daisy Duck - http://www.charactercentral.net/C39.....DaisyDuck.aspx

"Vacation" time - October 6-8
General | Posted 8 years agoJust letting you guys know,
LinaPilchard and I will be taking a "Vacation" (not really going anywhere, just taking a few days off from work/chores). We've both been extremely stressed out lately, and I've been experiencing chest pain. We're hoping this will help our health and reduce our stress.
Lina and I will not be available in our chat groups, on FA, or otherwise (unless for recreation purposes) starting Friday, October 6th. We will become available again on Monday, October 9th. Feel free to send notes/comments as usual and we will respond after our time off is over.

Sci-Fi Q-and-A with Fox and Lina
General | Posted 8 years agoWe found a list of sci-fi questions asked in a celebrity interview and decided to answer these questions ourselves!
All these questions are based around Science Fiction (and sometimes fantasy)
The one thing you geek out over the most:
Lina: Post-apocalyptic stories that you find out is the second iteration of society.
Fox: Escape the Monster sci-fi... trapped with limited resources, and it's coming to kill you! (Jurassic Park, Tremors, T2, The Thing, IT) ... excluding zombie movies.
The first thing you remember geeking out over:
L: Star Wars Books on ship schematics
F: Horizons (Epcot)
The science-fiction / fantasy creator you most respect:
L: Arthus C Clarke
F: Isaac Asimov
Your geeky guilty pleasure:
L: Phantom of the Paradise
F: Unironically enjoying any "sci-fi" schlock movie that takes itself seriously, and is still bad... but entertaining to watch.
The current state of science-fiction in three words:
L: Too many capes
F: It's been done
The biggest genre game-changer of the last 25 years:
L: That we now live in the sci-fi future with what we have.
F: Sci-fi genre becoming a social norm
The best quote from anyone in the genre, real or fictional:
L: "Freedom is the freedom to say '2+2=4'. If that is granted, all else follows" - 1984
F: "If we can dream it, we can do it"
The best genre movie of the last 25 years:
L: Moon
F: Jurassic Park
The best genre series of the last 25 years:
L: Cowboy Beebop - A show for artists who love film, anime, and music
F: Battlestar Galactica - Dispelling Zenophobia in a time that needed it, while also being a timeless drama.
The best genre book of the last 25 years:
L: World War Z
F: I don't read fiction novels really.
The best comic book of the last 25 years:
L: The Killing Joke
F: Watchmen
The best videogame of the last 25 years:
L: Portal
F: "Fallout: New Vegas"
The best genre theme song or soundtrack of the last 25 years:
L: Interstaellar (Hans Zimmer)
F: Michael Giaccino's "Lost World: Jurassic Park" (Playstation 1 game soundtrack)
A movie that desperately needs a remake:
L: League of Extraordinary Gentlemen
F: Flight of the Navigator
On the flipside, a movie that should never be remade:
L: Space Odyssey
F: Back to the Future Trilogy... at least not for another 30 years.
The genre character you most admire and why:
L: Ellen Ripley (Aliens) - complex, dealing with loss, unprepared and overcomes adversity.
F: Captain Nemo (20,000 Leagues Under the Sea) - One of the most classic 3-dimensional characters in the sci-fi genre.
The genre character you most despise and why:
L: JarJar Binks (Episode 1) or Sgt Johnson from Halo (ripoff stereotype)
F: "Darth Vader" Episode 3... his leap from "gotta save my wife" to "Guess I'm evil now, time to slaughter younglings" is soooo sloppy and contried and didn't have to be.
The genre character you love that no one else seems to pay attention to:
L: Curie from Fallout 4
F: Max from Flight of the Navigator (specifically the mystery of his origins, capabilities, Falon, etc)
If you could live in any fictional universe or reality, it would be:
Both: Star Trek (after next generation, and during peace time somewhere with the least xenophobia and conflict)
A scene from a movie that scared the ever living shit out of you:
L: Akira - The Teddy Bear scene.
F: Event Horizon... I knew it would be a sci-fi, but didn't know it was going to be a hardcore horror movie too til I was already watching it and had to finish it.
The most underrated sci-fi / fantasy movie of all time:
L: Hitchhiker's Guide Movie
F: Demolition Man (tongue-in-cheek action sci-fi, self aware, hilarious.)
The most overrated sci-fi / fantasy movie of all time:
L: Hunger Games (Everything in it has already been done to death)
F: Space Odyssey (great film, great piece of art. Nothing super "wrong" with it, but highly overrated and you need to read the book(s) or see the sequel to understand what's happening and why.)
The fictional character with the best style:
L: Vash "The Stampede" (Trigun)
F: Hellboy (Half of his style is also his backstory and what he does... his hand, his shaved horns, his guns, etc.)
The best Batman was:
L: Kevin Conroy (justice League)
F: Peter Weller (Dark Knight Returns movies)
The LOTR character you’d like to be:
L: Galadryel
F: Gandalf I guess
The LOTR character you’d actually be:
L: Barmaid at Prancing Pony
F: Merry or Pippin (ugh... always hugry and never taking anything seriously til it's literally time to die)
The most unforgivable insult in all of nerddom:
L: Joel-fucking-Schoemaker
F: Every Sonic the hedgehog game between Sonic Adventure 2 and Sonic Mania.
If you could have one superpower it would be:
L: Shape-shifting through atomic manipulation
F: Time Manipulation
If you were a hero, your sidekick would be:
L: Someone who is the comic releif (... Fox)
F: Someone sexy who boosts my Ego (... sooo my wife)
The Sorting Hat would put you in:
Both: Hufflepuff
Your patronus would be:
L: Otter (cute and scappy, but not overly tough)
F: Harbor seal (or something else that's adorable but useless)
On a voyage through space, your captain would be:
Both: Captain Piccard
If you could pick one genre vehicle, your ride would be:
L: Tardis
F: The Enterprise-E
In six words or less, what words of wisdom do you have for fellow fans?:
L: "To live well, live with compassion."
F: "Empathy is the key to Utopia."
Health problems and delays last month
General | Posted 8 years agoI posted this to Patreon at the end of August. I think It's a good idea to post it here too (even if some of it is patron related):
Health
I have had an odd month. I've been experiencing what I believe to be symptoms of heart disease. I had similar problems a year ago, and was told my cholesterol levels were okay, but coronary artery disease runs in my family, and killed mother and my mother's father. I am currently taking more steps to be healthy, but it's made this month a lot harder than last month. I've been more tired, had less energy, and suffered from a lot more stress than previously. I've been thinking about my mortality more than usual, and while I'm not depressed and remain optimistic, I am concerned, and that has a similar effect on one's daily life.
FNAB2: Ep2
I have completed only one small scene beyond my previous update. Normally I devote between 7 and 12 days a month to animation progress. This month, I have only done a few. I do not (and won't) have enough completed to justify this as a "monthly animation update". So I may or may not release what I have, and instead, work on other content.
Premium Content:
I will instead post some other content to $5+ Patrons to make up for the lack of animation this month. Lina and I both thank you for your continued support. Because you keep us going.
Love you all,
- Fox (and Lina)

Lina's Role Play Hotline (Draft)
General | Posted 8 years agoNOTICE: The following is subject to change.
♥♣ LINA'S ROLE PLAY HOT LINE ♦â™
Ever want your personal fantasy fulfilled LIVE by a professional voice actor while you interact with them? Here is your chance.
- Please note, you must be 18 years of age or older to book or take part in a session, regardless of what the legal adult age is in your region. Any persons known to be under the age of 18 will be reported to administration. We are not responsible for the actions of minors posing as adults and we will not be held accountable for any action considered illegal based on interacting with said minors.
- For these LIVE sessions, you will not be allowed to record, stream, broadcast, or post the session.
If you want a recorded session, see Lina's Voice acting commission page.
♥♣ How it Works ♦â™
♥ 1. Choose who to interact with:
- LinaPilchard Female. Feminine voices. Professional voice actress. Experienced in vocal sensuality and vocal orgasms.
- FoxpawMcfly Male. Masculine voices. Former radio host. Trained improv comic and impressionist. Experienced in fetish/sex RP.
♥ 2. Choose Your Session Length:
- The session time is fully pre-paid by package. You must book a minimum of 10 Minutes per session.
- If you need additional time, you may extend it for $2.00 per minute, payable immediately after the session. If you verbally agree to a time extension during the session, and it is not paid in full immediately after the session, you will not be allowed to book another session or commission Fox or Lina until it has been paid in full.
- NOTICE: YOU WILL NOT BE REFUNDED FOR TIME YOU DON'T USE. If you finish or have to leave early before the session time is up, you will NOT be refunded any portion of your payment once the scenario has begun properly. This includes if you are having technical problems with mic, speakers, text, internet, devices, software, etc. If something happens to interrupt a session before the half-way point, the remaining time may be rescheduled for another time (at the discretion of the voice actor/actress).
♥ 3. Choose Your Scenario and Character:
- When booking a session, you will be required to send all information about the scenario to the actor/actress ahead of time.
- Choose a character to interact with (optionally including what they look/sound like, and any accent, personality, motives, and necessary backstory)
- Make sure we know any other details about you and your character if that is required.
- PLEASE KEEP THESE DETAILS AS SHORT AS POSSIBLE. (e.g. If we have to watch 6 seasons of an anime to understand how to play a character, we will not be able to perform your session.)
- Be aware, our voices are fragile instruments, and any yelling, screaming, or other such strains may be limited per session.
♥ 4. Choose an appointment time/date:
- Certain days/times may not be available. You will need to give at least 24 hours notice when choosing a time.
- Please make sure to give your proper time (signify AM or PM), the date, and your proper TIME ZONE.
- In the event one you or the performer needs to cancel and reschedule, that can be done (if the session has not started).
- Cancelling mid-session will not allow you to reschedule.
♥♣ PRICING ♦â™
- Pricing is based on session time, effort, complexity and research involved to make your scenario possible
(No refunds in whole or part will be given after payment is sent)
- Prices are in (USD) United States Dollars. We accept PayPal ONLY.
♥ Quickie $20
- 10 Minute Session
(Enough time for a simple sexual scene, a quick relaxation exercise, or other basic interaction).
♥ Interlude $40
- 30 Minute Session
(More time for building a scenario for a fetish or sexy scene, or another type of interaction)
♥ Episode $70
- 60 Minute Session
(Plenty of time for world/character/story building, special attention to fetishes, ramping up sexual tension, or having multiple scenes.)
♥ Adventure
- Bulk time for $1 per minute. Minimum 70 minutes. Maximum time is negotiable, but it may require restroom and food breaks.
- This may be broken up into smaller portions if it is a continuous scenario, but a minimum of half the remaining time must be spent per split session.
(Need a person for an RPG session? Want to weave a long and interesting story? Need more than an hour? This is for you.)
♥♣ Important Rules ♦â™
- At any time before or during the session if you begin doing anything from my "NO" list, you will be warned. If you continue to push the subject, the scene will stop and you will be given final warning. Any attempt after being warned twice, will result in the session ending entirely without refund, and you may be banned from future sessions.
- Once a session has officially begun, if you need to break character, please say "Time Out". (Your session time will keep ticking down regardless of the time out). To resume the scene, say "Continue".
- When you or the performer becomes uncomfortable, say "YELLOW". The scene will pause, and you will be able to discuss how to proceed. this is different from "Time Out" because it indicates that you need to address something you don't like. The scene will not resume until this is resolved with both you and the performer. Your time still ticks down during "Yellow".
- In the event of an emergency, you or the performer may say "RED!" . Doing so will END the scene entirely and it will not be allowed to resume! This is known as a Safety Word. It is ONLY to be used if you or the performer become so uncomfortable that the scene needs to stop. You may spend any remaining time discussing the problem if you wish. If there is enough time left to resume a revised version of the scene at a later date, a "rain check" may be appointed at the discretion of the performer. No refund will be given if you say "RED!". SAFE WORDS ARE NOT TO BE JOKED AROUND WITH - THE SCENE WILL END IF YOU USE ONE! You may elect a different safe word if you prefer, but it needs to be confirmed and agreed upon by the performer at the start of the session.

New Pricing, Discounts, Queue, and other Updates!
General | Posted 8 years agoHey everyone, I've made some adjustments.
- New Prices - Prices have been adjusted. Some base prices are higher, but...
- New Discounts - I have also added a LOT more discount options, and have left myself the availability to do new sales.
(Thus the new adjustments will balance things out pretty fairly, and keep things marginally similar unless you plan on buying art without applying discounts)
- Art Queue - There is a new PERMANENT place to check on the status of your commissions and my other projects: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/24337678/
- Policies have also been updated
If you guys have any questions, please feel free to ask.

Good News
General | Posted 8 years agoGot a new laptop, thanks to one of my wife's friends. We'll be paying it off monthly. That's really gonna help me out. The last one I had was just trash that could barely run Windows and one program at a time, let alone the programs I need for daily work. This new one is designed for high-end gaming, so it should be way better.
I have changed almost all of my policies, rewards, and goals on Patreon. This is due to increasing strictness of their policies. I think the new changes will work out well.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

32 Work days behind
General | Posted 8 years agoJust a status update:
I have re-calculated my pinup queues and, including the Easter sale, I am 32 Days of work behind.
I can do 2 flat color pinups, plus cleanup, PR, and posting time per full work day.
And I have Roughly 64 character pinups (or the equivalent of) in my queues at the moment.
This doesn NOT include my animation commissions or my work on FNAB2.
I can't work faster or more effectively than I do now (other than getting a better computer which will at least make my work go more quickly, but not quickly enough to increase my daily quota). So this will be more about making sure I'm not taking too many full or half days off. I plan to do 10 more pinup days this month, and 15 next month. That would give me enough time to finish Kadruk's Patreon animation this month, and allow me to hopefully finish Episode 1 of FNAB2 next month if I can nail down a time for my voice actress to come in for a recording day between now and then.
Ugh... I wouldn't trade being my own boss for anything, but it is really hard to manage all this on my own.
My wife has also been in poor health for the last month or so, and I'm having trouble juggling life and work a the moment.
Thanks for your patience and understanding.

Sorry I missed April Fools Day
General | Posted 8 years agoI had planned on doing my annual bait and switch animation April Fools Day gag, but I didn't end up having time yesterday.
Was gonna do an icon that read "Transgender Betty and Lina Animation". The Animation would have been a short derpy clip from Buddy Thunderstruck with their heads pasted over Buddy and Darnell.
Be sure to check out the gallery for recently released Patreon freebies.
Anyway, maybe next year. I look forward to having more art for you soon.

PINUP TSUNAMI, TFF, & EASTER SALE
General | Posted 8 years agoPINUP TSUNAMI
Due to spending so much time on the Betty fursuit, I am WAY behind on my pinups. Thus, April's focus for both my FA and Patreon will be to crank out pinups. So expect a LOT of art from me in April through both outlets. I'll be working on Kadruk's animation through the end of March, and have a voice actress coming in to record lines to finish FNAB2:Ep1 some time soon as well.
TFF
Texas furry fiesta was, overall a success. We did have some drama and close calls here and there, but we managed to get 4 video shoots and at least 2 photo shoots complete for
linapilchard 's patreon
EASTER SALE
IF, and only if, I manage to show enough progress toward catching up on my pinup queues, I will run an Easter pinup sale, similar to the Halloween and Christmas "Choose an item" sales.

New hilarious furry Netflix show
General | Posted 8 years agoMy New Best Buddy
So I just discovered "Buddy Thunderstruck" on Netflix. It's a brand new original show set in an anthro universe and it's fully animated... in stop motion... by the "Robot Chicken" guys. So the writing is great.
It's TV-PG too, so family safe, but obviously made for both kids and adults. The humor is fast paced, as is the truck racing Dukes of Hazzard like theme. It's very self-aware and spoofs tropes from similar shows.
It's also cute and furry as shit. It was just released a couple weeks ago and there is already a bunch of fan art and porn.
TFF WAS A SUCCESS
In other news, I'm back to work again after a stressful but successful TFF with Lina. I'll have more on that later.

Betty Suit update + News
General | Posted 9 years agoWe have booked 4 firm meet ups at TFF for shooting sexy video, and plan on booking more while at the convention this month. Including ZigZag, Franchesca, Charlotte Panther, and one other I won't spoil yet.
Betty's suit is almost complete, but we will be working full time on her every day until we pack for TFF. Once I get back, having completed all the necessary Betty-related things I needed to help with, I'll be going back to my full-time animation and pinups for you guys here. Lina will be taking over all her own work (editing, recording, posting things, PR, etc.) other than shooting photos/video which I'll help her with once or twice a month in my spare time.
Here again is the link to the Betty suit WIP folder:
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/b7t7pdnu.....1ltx5Pu0a?dl=0
We continually update it, so check it every day or so this week.
I will be going back to work on Kadruk's TF/TG suit animation at the end of the month after TFF.
Thank you all for your support.
We can't make these things possible without you.

EMERGENCY SALE + NEWS
General | Posted 9 years agoHere's what is going on with us at the moment:
Emergency Sale - Up to 20% off pinups
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/22347153/
Was just a valentine sale, but I'm escalating it due to high bills, and our car being broken for 3 weeks. Getting uber/lyft to take my wife to work to keep her job takes about 1/2 her pay.
We've been trying to sell the car off to afford a downgraded vehicle. We will be getting Lina's tax return soon, but that's either going to be dumped into fixing the old car, or buying a new one (still holding out hope for TFF, but it looks like a 50/50 at this point).
Betty Suit Patreon and Raffle
For those who don't know, we're working on a sexy Betty fursuit for Lina, and have opened a new Patreon for her:
https://www.patreon.com/linapilchard
We are trying to get 250 Patrons before the end of the month to make our goal for TFF (Patreon has a referral program that will help finance that trip and let us get photo shoots with at least 2 other well-known sexy fursuit babes.
Later this week, I'll announce a raffle that will only be available this month to new Patrons where you can win some major art from me.
So far, we have the foot paw bases built and are ready to cut fabric for them and the legs. I have made a little clay sculpture of her head to get a feel for her proportions in 3D. We have the under-base for the head constructed (and are beginning the next layer of that now).
FNAB2 and Pinup queues
We will be recording the voice for Episode one soon. Lina was trying to practice one of her accents for this role, but if it's not going to work, we'll have to do a different one. Due to the deadline on getting Betty's suit finished, and needing to catch up on my Pinup queues, FNAB2 production has been slowed temporarily, but is still going forward. This is still my favorite, most popular, and most ambitious project and I am always happy to have updates for you when they are available.
Thank you all for your support. Things continue to be pretty stressful for us here, but if it were not for you, we wound be even worse off. Thank you for your kind words, your pledges and commissions, your time and your love.
We love you too.

just want to keep you up on current events:
Valentine Sale - Up to 20% off pinups

Going toward the usual bills and such. Not an emergency sale (yet), but a necessary part of making sure we can pay our bills.

We're still without a vehicle, as ours died on us a couple weeks ago, and we've been trying to sell it off to afford a downgraded vehicle.
We will be getting Lina's tax return soon, but that's either going to be dumped into fixing the old car, or making up the difference in the TFF funds... but it can't be both, so hopefully we will meet at least one of those goals.

How not to treat artists online
General | Posted 9 years agoI received a comment today that kinda made my hair stand up a little:
"It getting Annoying almost all his stuff is just for patrons"
(Their name is withheld to protect their identity - I'm not here to humiliate them to their peers, I'm here to hopefully help you learn by example.)
My response was:
"Yes, and then it gets released for FREE in 3 months... ALL of it. Not every artist does that. Some put up a permanent pay-wall.
But because I actually care about my fans and don't want to encourage blatant piracy, I release my work publicly after my Patrons get the first chance at it. They need incentive and thanks for supporting my art.
I made this art because it's my job. Someone paid me to make this art, and you and the rest of my watchers are going to get to see it for free.
Patreon and people who commission my art are what pays for our food and our bills, and the only reason this art has a chance to exist.
So the next time you think about complaining on someone's gallery, remember that this isn't some 'chan' porn forum where you can talk behind an artist's back. I'm right here. You sent this comment to me to complain about me in the 3rd person, like people are going to agree with you and I'm not even here.
As a watcher, I'm glad you like my work. But if you fail to show respect for me, my Patrons, supporters, and other watchers, I will block you from future comments.
(Your comment was hidden to save you from backlash from my watchers)."
I am open to constructive criticism, I am open to complaints about work I was paid to do for you, and I always give the benefit of the doubt when something could be taken negatively... but this is just rude, entitled, spoiled, selfish, un-empathetic griping.
I see this sort of thing all the time on e621, u18chan, and other adult re-post sites. I'm not complaining about those sitess services, as they serve a purpose in our community just as FA does. But the comments and forum threads in these places are just that: over-entitled complaints about artists hard work. "it's not released fast enough", "it's not free", "I don't like the subject matter", "the art is garbage", "the artist is making money so it's a scam!"...
Just the most poisonous sickening human behavior... usually over something they're viewing/sharing for free (that was funded by a 3rd party or made in the artist's spare time), or pirated and viewing for free anyway. I'm not condemning the viewing of such material, but weather free or "shared without permission", complaining about it makes you look like a petulant, arrogant, spoiled ass.
Now, take one of those comments from one of those forums an have the balls to post it on that artist's gallery. Then phrase it in the 3rd person like it's ignoring the artist and expects a thumbs-up or agreement from the people on that gallery. This is beyond not-okay. Belittling an artist behind their back in a pirate forum is one thing, but to their face? Have you no shame, no respect for that artist? The person who left this comment wasn't some random passer-by either, but a watcher like you, which means they care enough about my art to watch it, but not enough about the artist to consider the impact of such a comment.
I'm not trying to start drama, and if I wanted to shame that person, I could have pointed out their username. I'm not that kind of person. I'm also not asking for sympathy or encouragement, as I've easily brushed off more hurtful comments in the past. This is about you. Reminding each and every one of you that you are good people and so are the artists you watch. We all deserve respect, love, and a little human empathy. Just try to think before you leave a hurtful comment. How would you feel if you were on the receiving end of that comment in the circumstances of that person? Just be the amazing people I know you're all capable of being.
Our flaws make us human,
Our empathy makes us people.

Overwatch furry babes - Sale and Prize
After the awesome results of my recent poll, I will be offering sexy furry versions of the top voted characters in a sale.
(one slot for each of the top rated characters)
The winner of my next Patreon Gold Raffle will get their choice of the remaining characters not claimed or made available in the sale.
Valentines Day Harem Dates - Sale
My harem of lovely characters are exited to give you the date of a lifetime this Valentine's Day.

ProTips for Career artists
General | Posted 9 years agoThere are things I see people do a LOT that hurts commission artists in ways I don't think they realize.
These things are not sins, and I'm in no way complaining or scolding artists or users who do this, merely letting them know that fixing these things is vital to a strong business as a freelance artist here on FA. I hope this helps.
0. Public Gallery, Policies, and Work Queue
Before you can sell art, you need a place where people can see examples of your work, like here on FA (DeviantArt, Weasyl, etc.) And I mean a Gallery, where people can see a nice spread of thumbnails to click on... Not a disjointed infinite-scrolling timeline like Twitter (though that can be useful to let people know about new additions to your galleries, and providing a link to your gallery along with a teaser of the new art can help get you views there and here). Post your best stuff to the gallery, and your practice stuff, old stuff, or not so great stuff to 'scraps' (don't delete things if it can be avoided, just move to scraps).
Most importantly, you should have easily accessable legal terms and policies posted on any gallery you have. This should include your policies for 18+ nsfw art or lack thereof, what you will and won't draw, copyright info, and how making/buying/selling/sharing/printing and anything else involving your art is to be handled. These policies can potentially help protect you in a variety of potentially life ruining circumstances. Likewise, having bad policies can cause you trouble, so don't start selling at without a set of terms and policies that protect you and your work.
Once you do sell art, it's important to keep track of what you're working on and for which clients, but also important that any client can see where their order is in the queue. I suggest having a journal or gallery post that is devoted to being "The Work Queue", where you can edit it as work is completed and new work is added. So when people ask "hey, it's been 4 days, is my sketch done?" You can give them a link and say "not yet, but here is how many people are ahead of you in line, and you are next after that"
1. MOVING, ICONS, and BRANDING
Moving, or changing user accounts/names is the first thing to discuss. Think of a brand name product...
Let's use CocaCola for this example... CocaCola is where it is today because of POWERFUL branding and marketing. Is it the best tasting soft drink? Not to most people (and even in blind taste tests, people like other cola products as much or more). But that familiar and eye catching branding, familiar name, and marketing that's everywhere keeps it in your mind as the #1 soft drink of the planet earth. Now imagine if they decided they were gonna keep their font and red color sceme, but change their name to "FizzyBrown". They might launch an ad campaign to let people know about the change, and the world may follow them, but something has changed, and therefor, some momentum has been lost. The longer you've had the original name, the greater the loss.
So when a user changes their name from "FoxFelix12345" to "FelixMcGeeFox321", there's no harm, but now there is going to be losses. Not all your watchers may get the move memo. People finding your art through 3rd parties stamped with your old name may struggle to find your current page, and in general, it just looks like you're unsatisfied with your old name/account. When you move, you also have to re-post things, or not bother re-posting them. Either way it's a huge loss and blow to your brand. The same goes with icons. I understand that, on FA and other fun places, user icons are meant to change and flux for fun. And that's great, but again, as an art business that wants maximum recognition, you want people to see your icon and know instantly "Yeah, I know exactly who this is and what they draw". Coke/Pepsi logos are altered every so many years to keep things fresh, but they keep the general look of the original or most popular logo in each revision. So while it may be fun to update your icon seasonally or get a trendy icon commission, try to make sure it always reflects your personal character/brand/logo so it's still unmistakably "you".
Be sure to not only put a signature (legible/readable) on your work. Put a logo, website, or clearly legible user name
on ALL your work. This not only prevents the lazier art thieves from just re-posting your work as their own. It also means that people who re-post your work (with or without permission) will be advertising for you. Leading to new watchers and fans of your work.
You earned your reputation as an artist. Your reputation and your brand are more valuable than you know. And it's these things that will keep people recognizing your work and coming back to you again and again.
2. TAGGING YOUR ART
I know it's easier just to post and be done with it. After all, your art is amazing, and you at least (I hope) put it in the right category/species/subject. Right? Surely people who browse will find it...
Well, that assumes a lot, actually. But think of when you're looking for something. What do you do? You search for it right? On Google, on 3rd Party adult sites, or here on FA. What if the most AMAZING art of a "Sexy Bunny Girl" never shows up in your search results because the incredibly talented artist who drew it didn't tag it at all. Or only tagged it as "rabbit female". I owe my success as a career artist to 2 things: Tags and Advertising. "But what about your talent? And your watchers? and..." Yes, you're right, I owe it to a great many factors and people including my watchers, my wife, FA staff, myself, my art teachers, etc... But Even if I was the best sexy furry artist in the world, if I didn't advertise my work, I wouldn't have followers/watchers. And without a large fan base, I wouldn't have enough demand for work to do this for a living. And the only reason they know I'm here is because I tag the $#!t out of my work! When you post art, don't just "bunny girl sexy"... you need to "bunny rabbit girl woman sexy pose adult suit zipper boobs tits breasts..." etc. until the tag limit is FULL. But don't lie... Don't tag it with fake buzz words to get attention. That's not only against policy, it's a like crying wolf when there isn't one. But by all means, talk about everything from gender to body parts to species to clothing, tone, emotion, color, pose etc. The more descriptive, the more likely it will come up in someone's search and hopefully they like your art. Then you have yourselves a new watcher, or maybe a new fave or comment. Take enough pride in your work to help people find it. Tag it!
3. (BONUS ROUND!) ADVERTISE YOUR WORK
I have been advertising on Furaffinity for years off and on. And it's worth every single penny. It's also cheaper than advertising in a lot of other places that charge based on the amount of times your ad pops up and is "seen". It's currently about $25 per month, and I usually get about 5-10 new FA watchers a day when I'm advertising. Watchers = favorites, which equals paying for less advertising. Make sure your ad is brief, eye catching, and (most importantly) shows off your best work. If you're even a mediocre artist with fair but competitive prices, and a fairly catchy ad, I can almost promise your FA ad will pay for itself within the first few days that it's up (if you're using it to get commissions).
4. (BONUS ROUND II) ADULT ART? PINUP, DON'T CROP BODIES!
This is a problem I find in the porn photography industry as well as with adult artwork...
I passed enough art classes in college to fill a 2 year degree all on their own, so I understand how composition in art design works.
That said, porn is different. With good composition, you usually want to fill the frame entirely, making sure there are interesting vectors, and good design that pleases the eye. However, with porn, the body is what pleases the eye and the actions and pose the body are in. So if that means having a bunch of ugly blank space on the borders of your work so that you can see 100% of their body/pose, then do so.
Having porn cut a character off at the waist, cut off their legs or arms is like cutting off watchers who come to see those parts... paws, hooves, feet, hands, arms, legs, boobs, butts, genitals and faces should ALL be considered equally important if you are trying to maximize your viewers' pleasure and interest in the porn. If you specifically want to do a zoomed in artistic piece, or someone pays you for a specific thing like a "bust-up", that's up to them. But You'll get more business and more watchers with FULL BODY characters.
I hope this at least helps someone out there who needs a tip. I'm on your side and I'm rooting for you. Good luck out there.
