FC2010 Photos
Posted 15 years agoFC was awesome. Didn't go quite as crazy with the photos as I did last year, but still took a ton. Got to hang out with a lot of good friend and meet some new friends which was awesome (and is the biggest reason for going to cons in general).
Have photos up at:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/foxwor.....7623291137796/
I'm still having a copy on my local server using Gallery, but I figured it was time to start using Flickr since it's a lot easier for people to find photos. I may also in the future go ahead and re-upload all my RainFurrest and previous FC photos as well.
I also noticed when I got home that according to the filename counting, I've taken nearly 10,000 photos with my little D40 since I got it in September '07. While that averages out to only 4,300 photos per year or so, I don't really do a whole lot of shooting with it on a regular basis (something I really should be doing more often) but when I do take it out, I shoot a lot.

RF09 Photos
Posted 16 years agoI've gotten my photos from RF up at two locations so far: (they're the same photos, but hosted at two places)
http://gallery.foxwire.org/v/conven.....ns_trips/rf09/
http://matrixcodex.net/gallery/v/fu.....foxworth_rf09/ (though this will probably load a little slow for the next 20 minutes or so until all the thumbnails and resizes are created)
I don't mind if people want to re-post them as long as I get a credit :)
I'll probably post some of the photos here tomorrow, but I need to get to sleep for work tom... er... today...

Posted 16 years agoI finally finished going through my photos and have them up at:
http://gallery.foxwire.org/v/conven....._trips/fc2009/
I'm still in the process of going through the parade photos to see if I can tweak them to lighten them up a bit.

Posted 16 years agoI'm home and in the process of going through my photos from FC. I won't be posting all of them here but I'll post some that turned out especially well. I'll have a link for the rest of the photos at some point in a day or two (I have almost 3,000 photos to sort through and drop out duplicates/blurry stuff from bad exposures)
A funny thing happened on the way to Lumberyard...
Posted 17 years agoHoly crap... I'm actually using the Journal here!
So
matrixcodex, Dougal, Lusipurr, my friend Josh from work and I were playing TF2 Arena mode today. Needless to say it was quite awesome. In the process of our game we ended up coming up with a sub-game mode to play during Arena!
This new sub-game of Arena came about when we all decided to go melee only (the server we play on is an all-talk server with some really cool people that play on it, so this sort of thing actually works) but as with any server that tires to verbally set rules there is always one douche who doesn't play along. So our game play evolved and the game of "Kill the Douche" was born.
Initially the object of the game was, only kill the Douche not playing along before going after other people. Eventually the douches left and the game started to evolve. The new object of the game was everybody on the teams all went one class while the designated douches (1~2 per team) got to play whatever class they wanted. After using an ad-hoc system to determine who would be the Douches on the team it was decided the top 2 people on each team would be the Douche. Since it was Arena mode this worked out well because people would be rotated around and the douches would change based on who had to sit out. The people sitting out on the particular round would referee and declare the winning team and an end to the round.
Once all the Douches on a team were killed the game then went to melee only until the unofficial end of the round.
