The journey one takes... pt.2
General | Posted 15 years ago.....FURRY PIMP!!!! Full zoot and everything. I spent 3 years making it my claim to fame...that whole time, I only drew 9 yiff pics, not much for a pimp but I was working on something greater. I've ran into many people, most left, almost no one stuck around too long...after awhile that'll get to even me.
I questioned my art skills and kept asking: why? why?, I got no answer. I lost my mind, turned into a cartoon and slowly clammed down.
However I was still da Mack Daddy and couldn't shake that image no matter what (even after destroying my lust for everything). Can't be a pimp with out lust...But after I've worked so hard to be that my image I couldn't let it go unless it was replaced.
That was 3 weeks ago, I thought that. And God answered me by anointing me...
What does all of this have to do with the title?
That was and is my journey, it's probably nothing like yours (I'm sparing details to get to the point). Your journey is nothing like what others would tell you.
Many people try and help and guide by thinking the one they're helping is having the same journey as them....they're not. Maybe close, but not the same.
Like Apostle Paul...before God called him to show others The Way he was Saul, a Pharisees! He killed hundreds of Christians with no mercy...then God called him.
His story is nothing like the rest of the apostles...nor did he meet most of them, but they was still following the same path.
So, when you help people....put yourself in their shoes, see what they see, feel what they feel.
Because they are not you....they don't believe like you...
Your one of a kind....your special.

General | Posted 15 years agoYAY! My first sermon!
We all take different journeys in our lives. Mine is not the same as yours, nor is it the one next to you in class. How can this be...we all accepted Christ and are going to heaven...how can we walk different paths and get to the same place? Well, take me for example (I'll use myself a lot because I have no idea of your life and how it went or where it's going), For the first 20 years of my life all I really did was watch tv like most, cartoons mostly. I did nothing important, I had no girlfriend because of my weight, nothing going on, boring. After I graduated and got a few jobs...nothing special, except for meijer (a supermarket round here). That store broke my soul...it was horrible, day in and day out. # life. The only thing making it good was that after the first year and I found out about the fandom....for a year I just looked, until a Stroker & Hoop episode on [adult swim] made me omit that I was one. And I decide to be more then just an artist...KING OF THE FURRIES! But in porn there is no kings...but there are pimps....I am Mack Daddy Wally Bear, the one and ONLY FURRY PIMP!!!
To be continued....my lunch time is over...I'll get to the point later tonight.

Question: have you ever noticed how much the number 40 comes up in the Bible? like for instance the 40 days and nights of Noah's ark or how Moses spent 40 days and nights on Mt.Sinai transcribing the commandments, the Hebrews spent 40 years traveling in the desert.
is there like something about the number 40 that makes it used in the Bible so much?

Answer: The number 40 appears many times in the bible. Form the 40 days of Noah, the 40 days in the wilderness with Moses, the 40 days of Moses on the mount, the forty days of Jesus' testing, it also appears several times within several of the rules of kings and within the several of the books of the prophets. Numbers in the bible have often been researched by both Christian and Jewish scholars for centuries. Many numbers have specific meaning and references in their use, thus the repetition of them throughout scripture. In simple terms for the number 40, it signifies a time of trial, probation, or chastisement. Many scholars who study the numerology have come up with various meanings for all sorts of numbers and even put numbers together to for observations on OTHER numbers used throughout. For instance, the number 40 is gotten to by multiplying the numbers 5 and 8. The number 5 is taken to reference to grace, the number 8 is for revival or renewal. Thus for instance, in getting to the number 40, a time of trial is an act of grace which leads to a renewal. For instance, the 40 years lost in the wilderness. God showed his grace to the Israelites by having them wander in order to test their willingness to accept his covenant. At the end of the 40 years, the people became renewed in their commitment to the Lord, and thus were given final permission to enter into the promised land. This is but one example of the different numbers associated with various meanings within scripture. If you want some more information, I suggest trying out several bible-study websites that deal with it. this site is a pretty good one to start out with...
http://www.biblestudy.org/bibleref/.....n-bible/1.html
Also the local bookstores should have some good books on the subject in the mysticism and kabbalah sections. A good one, which is the one I have is Biblical Numerology by John J. Davis
I hope this is satisfactory enough of an answer. Point Neon to that website if he wanted to learn more.

The World Is Waiting
Read Philippians 1:3-11
Paul wrote, "I am confident of this, that the one who began a good work among you will bring it to completion by the day of Jesus Christ."
-Philippians 1:6 (NRSV)
CATHERINE Booth was the wife of General William Booth, founder of the Salvation Army. Reportedly, in the course of rearing her large family, Catherine would often tell her children: "Now remember, you are not here in this world for yourselves. You have been sent -- for God and for others. The world is waiting for you." Consequently, they grew up with a very clear picture of their Christian calling and took an active part in Christian ministry.
God has a specific purpose for each of us as we follow in the footsteps of Jesus, who declared that he came not to be served but to serve. Christ Jesus is our perfect example -- giving himself in obedience to God for the sake of others, both in his life and in his death. The apostle Paul's prayer was that the Christians of ancient Philippi would continue increasing in love, knowledge, and insight as they passed on the good news of Christ. Paul was confident that their obedience to the Lord's call would bring a rich harvest.
God has entrusted us with the role of passing on the gospel to a waiting world in our day. What a privilege and responsibility!

Dear Lord, empower us to show the waiting world your mercy and forgiveness. Amen.

The meat and potatos of Christianity in the Upper Room #XXIV
General | Posted 15 years agoI was preaching to one, then two, of my co-workers (it kind of came out of the blue...) and the first was about how she doesn't understand the Bible. So I read and explained the Bible passage to her and the other co-worker came in. after some heated discussion with my second co-worker, another walked in and I told her what was going on with the all too important fight of how everyone interprets the Bible stories different...and I asked the thrid co-worker if she was next for me to get into it with...she said no, lol.
But anyway the second co-worker got me to say what the whole point of the Bible was in one passage...
John 14:6:
Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
That is the only REAL thing you need to know about Christianity.....
Life in Order
Read Romans 8:35-39
If we live, it is for the Lord that we live, and if we die, it is for the Lord that we die. So whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.
-Romans 14:8 (TEV)
"EVERYTHING is fine," said my sister-in-law to me as she lay dying. My mind swirled with questions. She was only 65 years old, recently retired, with a loving and supportive family. After five years of battling breast cancer, she was dying. How could everything be fine?
During her funeral, when the minister read from Romans 8:35-39, I realized the meaning of her last words to me. She was saying that nothing can separate us from the love of God, not even death. My sister-in-law looked beyond earthly concerns and placed her faith and trust in God's love. Even though we may feel overwhelmed by worldly concerns, nothing is as powerful as the love of God in our hearts.
As Christians, we seek God's guidance to put our lives in order; we can live each day as if it were our last. Scripture assures us that "nothing in all creation . . . will ever be able to separate us from the love of God which is ours through Christ Jesus our Lord" (Rom. 8:39).
Lynda S. Phillips (Tennessee, USA)
Prayer
Loving God, may we feel your presence in all that we do each day. Help us to keep our lives in order to better serve you. Amen.

The God Who Searches
Read Ezekiel 33:10-16
The Son of Man came to seek out and to save the lost.
-Luke 19:10 (NRSV)
FOR three years, while I studied at the Seminario Biblico Latinoamericano in Costa Rica, I preached every Saturday at the central penitentiary in San José. One Saturday, I traveled to the penitentiary as usual. This time, however, due to an intensely busy work week, I did not have a message prepared. I pleaded with God to help me. As I was walking along, I saw Blue on the street corner, searching through the trash bins. Blue is an elderly man known to everyone in the area. He went through the trash bins, looking for blue objects to recycle -- hence his nickname. At that moment, I knew what the Bible reference and the theme of my message would be; I would talk about the God who unfailingly seeks us.
The message was not lost on the inmates. They understood that like Blue who recycles items of value from the trash, Christ searches for us, rescues us, and offers us salvation because we are valuable in God's sight.
Several inmates accepted Christ that day, which changed the lives of many of them. One inmate who had been condemned to a life sentence later gained his freedom and returned to his hometown, where he formed a new church.

I (Rev. Wally Bear) would like to say something....
General | Posted 15 years agoFirst off thank you all who accepted me already, I love you all.
However, I'm not ready just yet to take on this ministry...I have no Bible studies to go on...I've only read the 2 Mangas and what I've heard threw my life...I'd love to be your Reverend and preach to you...but in the United Methodist church (which is the one I go to), the pastor must be selected by the congregation...
If you do want me as your Reverend and don't mind me learning along the way (feel free to challenge me)...I'll take up the responsibility...
I won't do it unless you all choose me...I believe I've proven myself that I can do the job no problem...and when God did call me to be a pastor He kind of did lean me towards the fandom...
And for others who ARE ordained by man (I'm only ordained in spirit), I'm sure I don't need to tell you but for the rest we minsters will be judged more harshly in Heaven because we are responsible for your spiritual well-being....I know I'd do a good job but remember that...the one you pick is the one who'd be preaching to you...
So, Even if Dog of Heaven chose me to be the official Rev. It's YOU who'd be listening and learning about the good news....
Thank you, and choose wisely...

General | Posted 15 years agoI warn you of False Prophets, in the Upper Room #XXII
General | Posted 15 years agoI wanted to be ordained online, the first one I see is free...so I check everything on the site like it....but I googled the address and saw a run down getto class room...so I e-mail the man in charge (who calls himself a Reverend)
ME:
I'm looking to becoming ordained online and according to Michigan Law they
only accept online ordination that is affiliated with a church.
May I please get the name, address, and phone number of the church your
affiliated with for my records.
God Bless
Wally Bear
Universal Ministry:
Which part of the entire site did you not understand??? We are the official
site of the Universal Ministries worldwide church. We are the second
largest church offering free online ordination. Everything you ask is all
over the site, so again, which part do you not understand?
Go in Faith
Rev. D.E. Hickman, DM, OSD

UM Worldwide Church
ME:
well, according to my state laws online ordation needs to be offiliated with
a church...and i googled your address and what i saw was a run down
building...i know that your church isn't a cathidral. but besides an
illegable sign in the front i couldn't tell if it really was a church.
Universal Ministry:
You saw a legal church in law, or you saw a building that needs work, but
serves folks in faith. I am well aware of the law of every state, and what
is required. Join, don't join, it's your choice, but if our chapel does not
meet your standards you might want to trot down the road, pay big bucks for
the same legal ordination, and feel all warm and fuzzy because the other
church will expect you to support it more in money than in faith.
The important thing you might want to remember is the chapel exists to
satisfy laws of man. God makes the world His chapel. We provide the legal

i see...well, guess i'd get what i would pay for in your ministry...i will not be joining your ministry, and it's not because of your building...it's because of you dear Reverend, you have been very rude to me and not showed compassion to my simple question. you greated me with negativity...and for me to preach (or even you to preach) about God's love with your ministry would be a complete lie to the Lord.. i hope what ever is causing this negitivity in you will be removed...God Bless...

Passion and Compassion
Read Colossians 3:1-12
As God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience.
-Colossians 3:12 (NRSV)
IT was about 8:00 p.m. on a very hot day. Traffic was intense. Cars and buses were not moving. Thunder announced a coming storm. Everything was dark except the lights of the vehicles, since we had been without power in our neighborhood for some time. In the midst of this, an ambulance siren wailed. From my vantage point at the door of the church, I could see a person in the ambulance -- perhaps a doctor or nurse -- trying to help someone. The ambulance driver frantically waved his hand outside the window, pleading for people to let him get through.
I thought, If that were me in that ambulance, I would like to be cared for with the intensity I saw in that crew, by people who would fight for my life. Instantly, I thought of the church as something like the intensive care unit of a hospital. We are called, made capable, and sustained by God to fight for God's people -- so that they may have abundant life, life guided by God's saving love and grace. God wants a church that acts with passion and compassion so that those whom the world injures may see their true worth as children of God.

May I please get the name, address, and phone number of the church your

ME:
well, according to my state laws online ordation needs to be offiliated with
a church...and i googled your address and what i saw was a run down
building...i know that your church isn't a cathidral. but besides an
illegable sign in the front i couldn't tell if it really was a church.
We provide the legal
ordination in the laws of man, and give it away freely. Want a fancier
building than the budget allows? You provide it as we do with what we have
to maintain a building. Our real work is done in the world.

Read Psalm 71:17-21
Remember your leaders, those who spoke the word of God to you; consider the outcome of their way of life, and imitate their faith.
-Hebrews 13:7 (NRSV)
BILL was my dad's partner in an auto-parts business. They sold to gas stations, car dealerships, and guys who worked on their own cars all over our corner of western Pennsylvania.
Folks around town also knew that they were faithful church members. Dad taught a Sunday school class of senior-high boys. Teaching wasn't exactly his spiritual gift, but he gave it a good try, and the boys seemed to appreciate it. Bill was the adult counselor for the youth fellowship, which fit his sense of humor. Their careers were in auto parts, but their calling was in making disciples of Jesus Christ.
While there are still folks in that small town who remember Bill and my dad because of what they did with their business, there are also former teenagers, now grandparents, who give thanks for the way the two men helped lead them to Christ.
That's why reaching out to young people matters. It's hard to imagine anything more challenging than being a Christian teenager in today's culture. But amid the cacophony of conflicting voices that would lead youth in a multitude of different directions, we can celebrate what God is doing in and through the lives of those who work with young people.

The Sparrow
Read Matthew 10:29-31
Jesus said, "Not one [sparrow] will fall to the ground apart from the will of your Father."
-Matthew 10:29 (NIV)
As a keen birdwatcher, I often long for some spectacular species to come to my feeder while often dismissing the common birds. That was true until I happened on a little sparrow, that most familiar of birds, which had been stunned by a passing vehicle and was lying on the road. I quickly rescued the bird and gently carried it home. Looking at it closely, I was amazed at its beauty. Its back was a beautiful, rich chestnut color with black stripes, and its wings were brown with a lovely white bar. Its head was gray, and its chest and abdomen were fluffy and white. I marveled at the delicate feet that can hold this frail-looking little bird to a twig in the fiercest of gales. As I cupped its tiny body in my hand, the faint heartbeat against my palm made me cry.
The Bible says that God knows when a sparrow falls to the ground. God had watched this particular sparrow fall to the ground, had watched me pick it up, and was with us now in this moment. I realized that like the sparrow lovingly sheltered in my hand, I am held in the palm of God's hand. God speaks tender words to me and tells me I am loved, approved, and valued beyond measure.

Those who go out weeping, bearing the seed for sowing, shall come home with shouts of joy, carrying their sheaves.
-Psalm 126:6 (NRSV)
IN spring 2001, I began leading a women's Bible study in the church where my husband was pastor. Our group started with around a dozen women; more joined in the fall session. Six weeks into the second study, my husband died suddenly. One week after his funeral, I went back to leading the study. My motive was not particularly noble. I needed to return to some sort of normalcy, and I knew these wonderful women whom I had grown to love would be support for me.
During that study, we bonded in a way that does not often happen in good times. As I honestly talked about my grief, my doubts, and my anger at God, the women talked about their deepest feelings. One person commented that I was the strongest woman she had ever known; I remember thinking, I don't feel very strong. During many of the sessions, though I was the leader their strength carried me.
Our group eventually grew to more than 40 women, and God alone deserves the credit. I believe God used my honesty when I was floundering to produce fruit I never could have anticipated. Even the weakest among us can spread the good news that God is always faithful.

True Colors
Read Isaiah 58:6-12
Treat them as you would an Israelite, and love them as you love yourselves. Remember that you were once foreigners in the land of Egypt. I am the Lord your God.
-Leviticus 19:34 (TEV)
AT a time of horrendous xenophobia in my country, South Africa, we learn of atrocities perpetrated by South Africans against people from other African countries. At such a time we might well ask, "Where is God?" At times like these our faith can show its true colors. For every "why," we can answer in our own hearts, "We don't understand, Lord, but we still believe." Every why brings an opportunity for our faith to grow.
Perhaps this outlook is easier for us than for "the foreigners" who are on the receiving end of the prejudice and violence. But in situations like these we all have something to do. We can pray, and we can help the one, two or more that we can. We can give shelter, food, and comfort. As Isaiah told God's people: "Remove the chains of oppression . . . let the oppressed go free. Share your food with the hungry and open your homes to the homeless poor" (Isa. 58:6-7).
We should not be afraid to let our light shine for fear of how doing so might affect our lives. Let us have the faith to trust God in all circumstances and the courage to do our part as we become co-workers with God.
Elaine Richardson (Western Cape, South Africa)

General | Posted 15 years agoA Walk in the Sun
Read 1 John 1:5-7
Jesus said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."
-John 8:12 (NIV)
MY days begin with a walk along our country road. Because of the changing seasons, sometimes the sun is already high in the sky as I walk. At other times, it is still dark. But at certain times of the year, I walk toward the rising sun. As the tremendously bright ball comes up over the horizon, it seems overwhelming in its brightness. I am tempted to just turn and return home, walking away from that light. However, I have discovered that as I continue my walk, the sun moves higher and lights the road, showing me the rough and smooth places.
When I seek God through prayer a similar thing happens. God's power seems overwhelming. It is hard to believe that God could care about my small, human joys and problems. Yet when I share my thoughts with God in prayer, I find it easier to see how to go about my daily chores. I can deal more confidently with my challenges, just as I can walk more confidently when the sun lights the road.

Read Luke 17:11-19
He prostrated himself at Jesus' feet and thanked him.
-Luke 17:16 (NRSV)
ONE of my friends was diagnosed with cancer. He was frightened and didn't know what to do. On advice, he went to church and prayed; and after some time, he felt better. At his next doctor appointment, the doctor told him that he was healthy. He did not go to the church to thank God. He said, "I don't think I was ever ill. They got my test results mixed up with someone else's. I have nothing to thank God for."
In the story of the ten lepers, I was struck by the words, "He prostrated himself at Jesus' feet and thanked him." When my friend thought he was ill, he agreed that he needed God. But once he found that he was not ill, he forgot about God.
Jesus healed all ten lepers, but only one turned back to thank him. The leper who came back in gratitude had received both physical and spiritual healing.

Dear God. you are the reason for our existence and the source of all our blessings. Help us to recognize our need for you and to offer you our thanks for all the good that comes to us. We pray in gratitude, "Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one."* Amen.

Dear God. you are the reason for our existence and the source of all our blessings.

Read James 2:1-5
If we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.
-1 John 4:12 (NIV)
ON the Sunday before Easter, a stranger appeared at Sunday school reeking of alcohol after heavy drinking at a local festival. The Sunday school class invited him to stay for the Palm Sunday service, which began with the congregation joyfully waving palms. Walking with uncertain step, the visitor caught on and waved his palm heartily.
Before the sermon, the congregation greeted one another. The visitor seemed genuinely blessed as each person took his hands, looked into his eyes, and said, "The peace of God be with you." But then he restlessly ambled around the edge of the sanctuary. No one knew what to do.
After several minutes, a woman went to the imposing visitor, took his hand, and asked, "Would you like to come sit with me?" He responded to her gentleness and sat attentively through the service. Only weeks before, that kind woman had told the pastor of her inordinate fear of strangers. They prayed that God would help her to overcome her phobia. Fears are real, but the kind of love God gives can nudge out, expel, and conquer fear.

On the Run
Read Isaiah 16:1-5
The Lord says, "When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you."
-Isaiah 43:2 (NRSV)
RAIN was predicted, but the cloudburst that overwhelmed the little creek was not. At one o'clock in the morning, city officials went from house to house ordering people out. "Quickly! Quickly! The water is over the bridge."
Gathering what they could, people bundled everyone into their cars and waited impatiently for an opportunity to join the line moving away from the threat. But where would they go? Did anyone know what was going on? The policeman beside the flashing lights simply said, "Keep moving."
The people described in Isaiah 16:1-5 were on the run too. An enemy army had overrun their land, and the Moabites were fleeing for their lives. The shallow-water crossings of the Arnon River were choke points in their journey. When they waded across the river, they could carry only a light load. They needed someone to protect and hide them. But did anyone care?
On occasion, we may feel driven from our normal lives; and in the headlong rush, we forget the promises of God. Isaiah spoke a reassuring word: In steadfast love, God would set up a throne; and the son of David would sit on it. For us as for them, God will be reliable when our world crumbles, righteous when others fail us, our solid rock when fear of the unknown grips our hearts.

The spirit speaks for it's self in the Upper Room #XIV
General | Posted 15 years agoA Divine Spark
Read Romans 12:4-8
Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.
-1 Corinthians 12:4 (KJV)
WE may readily recognize inspiration in the work of artists, but we usually stop short of seeing the same inspiration in simple acts of kindness. I had the privilege of seeing my sister-in-law act as a conduit between my father's need and God's mercy. My father was admitted to a nursing home for care after suffering a stroke. Limited to using his right side, my father requires assistance with his basic needs.
One night my sister-in-law breezed into the room cheerfully. She immediately set about anticipating and responding to my father's needs. It is not always easy to get past his veneer of gruffness, but she has found a way. In the time it took me to juggle a toothbrush and water cup, she had wrestled a partially paralyzed man out of his soiled shirt and into a fresh one, finishing by folding his blanket back accordion style just the way he likes it.
I had heard what a great blessing my sister-in-law had been in caring for my father, but witnessing it firsthand opened my eyes to her deeply compassionate heart. We are all given a spark of the Holy Spirit that ignites when we engage in a work where our passion lies.
