Hello everyone!
Sorry for the huge hiatus, but school and Soot's treatment was getting really stressful and I needed to focus and pass my classes. It was hard, but it has paid off and I graduated earlier in May and I've picked up a second job in my spare time till summer courses start. (Need a couple teeny credits still)

Graduation aside, I do have something I wanted to bring to everyone's attention.

One of my dear friends,  crystalryuu has not been feeling well for a good while now and her doctors are having a hard time figuring out what is wrong with her. She is not able to work much and drawing for commissions has become increasingly difficult, but the medical bills continue to pile up. She has opened up a GoFundMe for donations towards her medical expenses and every little bit helps.

Firstly, I apologize for my inactivity lately. School takes priority, but right now I need help.

My cat, Soot, has been living with hyperthyroidism since early this year and she cannot take the medications available to control this condition as she has a reaction to them. Instead we are doing radioactive iodine therapy to knock it out completely, but I have no credit and have been declined for a credit card. So I humbly turn to the communities I'm a part of and ask for help or for signal boosts. I have a hard time asking for help, but I need to in order to help my friend.

I am finally all moved into my new apartment and got my computer all set up!

Between work and school and the recent emotional roller coaster, I have had very little time to do anything I really want...
But things are better now.

Also, congratulations again to  jealousberry on the winning bid for the head base I was experimenting with. I don't think I ever officially announced it, hah hah, my bad. ^^;

I've been thinking about kind of opening for commissions again, but not within a limited time frame. I think if I just left the door open and decided on a case by case basis whether or not I would take on certain projects would ensure I don't get completely overwhelmed by adding it to my school/work load. I will post more about this when I've made up my mind...

Got a little feedback and it looks like I have a couple interested in watching me! I'm scheduling the stream for 5 pm Central Time on Monday, April 13th. It also looks like votes for drunk doodle requests have been most popular, but I will leave that decision for that day. That way if I'm feeling super productive I won't waste it on not-queue stuff. Had our day trip to visit her grave. The headstone they picked is very pretty. (Her sons all picked it out and I kept my nose out of things since I'm not blood related) Tidied up her grave a bit, the workers that put it in place trampled some of the flowers. Auntie is going to be planting daffodils this spring. Those were her favorite...
Got to see his grandparents there then went on into town to visit my younger brothers and had lunch. It was refreshing to be around them again.
Long day of driving, I think it was a total of 7 hours of driving in total.
In other news, I've done something to injure my shoulder. Even lifting a pencil is painful. Going to be trying to find a doctor to get it checked soon. Until then, drawing will be put on hold. Many apologies to everyone I owe art to.

For the last year, (as far as I know) my mother-in-law and mother to  bezilklover has been battling lung cancer. My mate, Ogre, has been living with her a few hours away from where we live for the last 8 months to help her to and from the hospital as well as take care of Bezil and his younger brother. Some time mid-April, she suddenly couldn't breathe and stayed in the hospital a few nights. When she was finally released to go home, the doctor told her and my mate that she maybe had two months to live. This news was very sudden for me, as I only get to visit on an occasional weekend and she always seemed okay. In my shock and despair, I drew this up. I was determined to finish my fursuit partial for her to see before she was gone, as well as tell her some things I had been carrying around to tell her for the last couple of years.

However, after her last hospital visit, her health deteriorated rapidly. Her appetite was already poor, but her meds given to keep her comfortable made her even more nauseous. I finally got a chance to break away from work and go visit her this past weekend, and my heart sank when I got there. She was so much worse than I had thought. She was a little yellow skeleton of a woman. She couldn't sit up, much less move around without help. She couldn't talk much, and when she did it was a few words whispered, so often she would resort to mouthing words or gesturing. I watched her sleep for so long, afraid that if I were to hold her hand or kiss her I would wake her. She's always been a light sleeper. I was not ready to let her go. I still had so much I wanted to say...

I wanted to say I was sorry for how rotten I was in the beginning. I know now that moving in with her and her three boys was difficult. We fought a lot over little things like chores and how I never spent time with Ogre's little brothers. I did not have a job to help with things and I resented watching his brothers like a live-in babysitter. Now that I'm older, I understand how foolish and hurtful I was...

I wanted to say thank you for folding me into her family as if I was one of her own. It took a long time, but we finally worked the kinks out. She taught me a lot, much as my own mother has. Most of all, she taught me to be more open minded to things and to be less critical about myself. Somehow she knocked some sense into this military brat that joined her home...

But despite all these other things I wanted to say to her, all I could manage during my visit was, "I love you, Mom." I held her frail form to me and told her I loved her over and over as I fought to hide my tears from her. I wanted her to think I was strong, but my will was too weak to tell her everything I wanted to say. I love you. I lover you. It was the only thing I could say without choking.

I love you is all she needed to hear, and I could hear her whisper back every time, "I love you, too." I was so tempted to call in to work for the next day and stay longer, but I knew we were short handed to pack and move the clinic, so I said my goodbyes and left Sunday evening.

I went to work, focusing on the packing and moving to keep my head level all day. I talked to my boss and a co-worker about rearranging days so I could visit her for the whole weekend as often as I could. I got home this evening and took the dog out for a walk and that's when Ogre called. I knew it wasn't something good when he asked first to make sure I wasn't driving. He told me that Mom had passed away this afternoon and I crumpled to a sobbing heap in the grass next to the dog. She is gone. I know she is no longer suffering, but still my heart aches. I was not ready when I visited her this past weekend. I thought I had more time, but I'm glad that I did get to tell her at least that I love her and see her one last time.

I know I haven't been super active on FA, but I will be keeping it to a minimum as we figure things out from here. I always at least check my messages every other day if not every day, but please don't think that if I don't answer you that I am ignoring you. There is just a lot going on.

So I figured since I feel I'm really getting the hang of this drawing tablet, I would update my profile icon!
Sketched it out just fine, saved it.
Started solidifying the lines so I could try to color it (which is something that's been fairly hit or miss for me so far. Still learning...)and that went well. Jumped right into coloring it in and was even about to start trying a little simple shading and the program crashed on me for some reason. ;.;
Taking me back to my sketch...
So now I'm going to bed and I'm not going to think of how long it took me, cuz I honestly have no idea. xD
If I don't finish it tomorrow, then I'll be working on my summer picture!
