Posted 12 years agoHey there peeps. Since mid-December, I have been trying to get some simple headshot pieces done for my two mates. First it was going to be their Christmas gifts but that fell through when the first person I tried to commission never responded. Then I was going to ask another artist but they were closed for commissions. The third I would have asked but they are normally hard to reach and aren't very good with deadlines/ time management. After all that, I was going to maybe try doing the head shots myself but my skills are lacking in what I want to give my mates as a gift. I plan on doing head shots for them but I want something higher quality than my own art for a holiday gift.
Basically, I need to get two head shots done of two furs that have never had any fursona art done before. I would like to keep each head shot below or at 20 USD a piece. If you are reading this and know of an artist that does first commissions, please let me know through PMs. If you don't think you can help, a signal boost would be great. I think for those that help, I will break out my sketchpad and doodle you something (its the least I could do).

A few years ago while searching different furry sites for an interesting read, I found a story that now I would like to read again. The only issue is that I barely remember what it was about. All that I can remember is that there was a male that had cum that was like a drug to people so he was like a prostitute and a supplier at the same time. I also remember him nose fucking either a snake or some other scalie to get him his fix. There was some moral conflicts going on with the main character and stuff but that is all I remember. I don't remember where or how I found it. I think it was on this site so if anyone can help me out then I would be very happy and would have to find some way to thank you. ^^

Posted 12 years agoToday is my Birthday and the best present I could ask for is a smile from those watching me. So what I am doing is short poetry based on an image. It's free and for fun so just put the link to the image in the comments and I will either reply to it with the poem or note you.
I do $1 USD Haiku poem commissions and when I build up the confidence in my drawing skills, I will do $1 Shadow Commissions. For a shadow commission, I would draw what your character's shadow would look like when doing an activity or feeling an emotion (the paper is wall or floor or I could try to make it look like a corner). It will be traditional art and a photo will be taken and sent right to you.

Posted 13 years agoNow all I need a program to draw with! Any suggestions would be great and if you have no input, could you pass this to someone you think could help. Links to guides would be helpful too. This is my first venture into actually REALLY making my own art and drawing and stuff so I want as much information as I can get from any possible source! Thanks for all the help!

Posted 13 years agoIn the past few nights I have realized that I really miss the random gay image generator that was on yiffstar.com those many years ago. Every 30 seconds or every page refresh you got a new image and it was great. I wonder if we can get a page like that somewhere like the new sofurry or e621 or something?
Perhaps my watchers can answer my questions...
Posted 13 years agoI know I am not popular or anything but are the stories i posted so bad that neither of them can get a comment saying "good," "bad," or something? Did no one notice or did no one read them? I may just be over reacting but I feel like a parent just worrying about their child. I know there are a lot better writers out there whom have even less success and this sounds really petty and whiny.
I have so many ideas for art and stories and seldom every come to life. This is one trying to make it but from where I am standing, it doesn't seem like it will make it. I really hope it does cause I have so much fun writing this and the other things I write and attempt to draw.
Could it also be that I am not tagging the stories properly? I see other artist not really tag things and they get comments and views and there are others that do tag and the submission page is baron like mine. I guess everything is just really up to chance and luck and all that...

Rediscovery
Posted 13 years agoAfter a family trip, I have rediscovered my fursona. Landon has not been discarded or anything but I feel there is more to me than just the influence he has in my life.
I thought back to some other moments of questioning my fursona and realized the questioning always happened near water. Not really large bodies of water but more near shores of rivers and lakes. But in all this thinking and questioning, I remember my old fursona from grade school. He wasn't really a fursona at the time because I didn't know what furry was then but looking back on it, I know now that he was.
His name is Free. He was wolf but he was never complete in my mind. It was like he was missing a part of him and for that, my child-self disregarded him after a while. It wasn't until my mate asked me about my user name here that I really remembered Free. After not remembering him for so long, I feel like I abandoned someone really close to my heart. But that has all changed because I am never going to forget him again.
Welcome Back, Free. 12 years is far too long to be out of contact with a friend.

A good read with some eye candy to boot!
Posted 13 years agoSo a while back someone here on FA posted about a manga called Freaks Squeele. I made a note to myself to check it out and finally got around to it. It is a great read and very interesting art style but that is not what I want to talk about in this journal. No, this journal is to discus the male lead in this manga; a large wolf by the name of Ombre.
I normally try to keep these kinds of emotions out of the picture when reading non yiffy material but I say goddamn! Ombre makes me want to do things to him so much. I think it is the carefree nature he shows once Xiong Mao and Chance befriend him. It is his his body too but mostly how he acts. Rule 34 must be enacted immediately for Ombre. Do it now!!!
Spoiler examples below.
During the strategy exam, he is in a bath house with only a towel on, showing off all his bod. Then after he finds out that the bath house is a ploy for the exam where they get points by disrobing other students, he makes the most adorable comment about thinking the guys were "trying to steal his virtue."
My thought that lead me to write this was "Ombre, I'd love to try to steal your virtue."

Posted 13 years agoI have a character in my head. His name is Toshimi and he is quite a fellow. He is a 42 year-old bar owner who's goal in life is to live it to the fullest with his friends. Standing at about 5 feet 7 iniches and having the most refined beer-belly around on his stocky frame, he is that general nice guy with a father-like demeanor that makes you feel like you can tell anything to him. He can be usually seen wearing a collared short sleeved shirt and khaki shorts with a belt and strapped sandals. Sometimes when he doesn't feel like it, he goes shirtless (because why not?).
The reason I am telling you all this and the reason I titled this journal this is because I would like to hold a drawing contest for any artist willing to do so. The rules are simple. All ya need to do is art out Toshimi and put a link to it below with the word "submission" before it in all caps. It can be a bust, a portrait, a full pic, whatever ya want or however far you wish to go. I am allowing full artistic freedom. As long as I can tell you are trying to draw him then it is all good.
But silly me still hasn't told you the biggest part of the challenge; Toshimi's species. He is a mix between a Red Panda and a Husky. I call it a Rhed Pandusky. Below will be an animal ref for each half. The contest will be open until July 21, 2012 at 11:59 PM EST (-05:00). The entries will be judged by 5 people and on how well species are mixed and if the picture fits his general persona.
And what is a challenge without a prize! Now I have been thinking about it and I say that a 4 or 5 tiered system based on the number of entrants would be the way to go, but I am low on funds and cannot pay out large amounts of green. So instead it'll go like this;
1-3 entrants:
1st $10
2nd $4
4-7 entrants
1st $14
2nd $6
7+ entrants (will shock the heck out of me)
1st $20
2nd $9

Of course, we don't govern our nation based on the Declaration. Our gov't is run on the Constitution. There is no provision in the Constitution for over throwing the gov't.
But the Declaration is precedence. Our gov't exists only because we over threw the old one. And we can do it again if need be."
This was a statement I found online and I totally agree with the person who wrote this. The government is messing with Man's unalienable rights by banning gay marriage. How can they take part in their own "Pursuit of Happiness" if it will only land them in a prison? It is not right.
We have to reboot our government. We cannot do it through the B.S. Polling system they set up because it is corrupt as well. We must use our own voice and our power as the people that our government is supposed to represent. So spread the word, everyone. Our voices are needed to set our country back on the right path.
