Will be at FC...
Posted 15 years agoI only know about 5-10 people who watch me, but I'd figure a cursory FC journal is in order. I'll be at FC from Friday morning to Sunday afternoon.
A question for artists about current art...
Posted 17 years agoY'know, I was listening to music (still am) and in my head I was picturing some anthro wolf jamming away all hardcore on a guitar. I thought, "That'd be badass!" Then I thought, "... Why don't I see more art of furries playing music?"
It just seems like something you'd see more of. Everyone listens to music - don't tell me YOU don't - and there's thousands of furry artists and hundreds of musical genres and millions of songs! You can take a genre of music... and just let your imagination run wild on paper! Heck, make it grunge rock; draw a group of canines and lupines - even vulpines - dress them up in ripped up clothing, have 'em jamming away on some second-hand instruments, and call them The Knots! It's not sexual, of course... unless you put them in skimpy clothing or no clothing at all, and they're grinding against ea - Ahem, yes.
Even if you're not willing to make up a band, you could make furry parodies of existing bands... like the Barkstreet Boys, My Pheramone Romance, Snarls Barkle - OKAY THOSE ARE TERRIBLE! But I'm tired and I'd like to see you do better! You get my point, though. I'm sure other people have thought of this, but it doesn't change the fact I don't see it...
Artists I'd love to see make a picture from this concept -
Blotch
Nek0Gami
Kaji
Nimrais
Shiuk
Zhivagod
(This kind of doubles as a late night rambling and a *look at these artists* type thing!)
Anyways, if you happen to read this, do you know about any pictures of just what I'm talking about? Am I just not watching the right artists? Thoughts would be appreciated!

Dead Space: Review!
Posted 17 years agoSo I actually got to play Dead Space at my friend's house on the PS3 yesterday. It was a FANTASTIC day! If any of you had your doubts about Dead Space still, let me put them to rest! Because Dead Space is an incredibly well done game that definitely delivers on several different levels.
The one thing you can say Dead Space has covered is an amazing atmosphere. When you first land on the Ishimira you'll immediately be drawn into the feeling of abandonment; and even worse, that something went incredibly wrong. Your suspicions are proven when suddenly the lights go out and you see one of the crew members from your ship get sliced up by a giant, twisted Necromorph with giant blades for arms! Followed by an incredibly tense run down a few hallways as more monsters suddenly pop up out of the ventilation shafts and chase you ending in a great little experience involving an elevator. Then throughout the game you get fantastic level designs, corpses strewn across the ship, eerie lighting, more terrifying Necromorphs, and especially the moments where you enter zero gravity or areas that have no oxygen and leave you racing for safety. It's not long before you come to dread the absolutely horrifying screeches that the Necromorphs yell out before their appearance. Heck, you'll even run into some of the surviving crew members - even though they're completely insane and then usually commit suicide (perfect timing!) in an assortment of horrifying ways. Basically, after playing it for around ten hours (since I was only spending one night and needed to beat it), my face and jaw were actually tensed up from constantly being on the look out for monsters around every corner.
Another thing that Dead Space does brilliantly is the sound design. You'll really have to hear it yourself to understand the sheer amount of details that went into the sound. The harrowing orchestral score that starts up when something's about to happen, whether it be a Necromorph suddenly jumping out or a loud, broken door making banging noises (I got scared over a door... :<). There's also an exceeding amount of sounds just to add a bit of scare factor as you're walking through the (mostly) deserted hallways; the clanging of metal accompanied by a hiss or screech, a quiet whisper of one of the departed crew members, the mere sound of your heavy boots on the ground! It all just adds to the feeling.
I'd like to add there were multiple times where things got really quiet and almost peaceful.... only to have a Necromorph fly out of the air ventilation above me and screech like a fucking banshee! I won't deny that there were a lot of times I jumped or got pretty freaked out during the game. You can think of Dead Space's approach on scaring you the same way a lot of good horror movies do. In fact, I could definitely tell that they took a lot of the strategies from the first Alien and The Thing... Using scary music, freaky monsters, disturbed and crazy people, and a lot of shock moments. A shock moment being a Necromorph sneaking up on you and then screaming RIGHT BEHIND YOU.
Real quick, I'll add that the game does have some problems. Including a weird ragdoll thing with corpses, where they get dragged and tossed around when you try to walk over them. There's also some pretty lame looking shadows at times... and that's about it for the problems I had with it.
Anyways, I've rambled on enough to get across my point hopefully. Great horror/survival game. I'd consider it a must play! So go play it!
P.S The ending of the game is pretty great. x3

Dead Space!
Posted 17 years agoIf you're a gamer, chances are you've been keeping up with Dead Space since it was first announced. I certainly have and I've gone through various stages of being extremely excited, wondering if it's going to be a flop, and now absolutely NEEDING this game. Judging by the reviews and by the newly released launch trailer, I'm convinced that Dead Space is a must have game!
So when I get my new computer in the next couple of months, Dead Space is right up at the top of my list for my first "new" game. Basically it'll be a competition between Dead Space, Fallout 3, and Far Cry 2. If you know anything about these games, you'll understand when I say that this will assuredly be a VERY tough decision. So I'd like to know what game you're leaning towards and why... even just a brief this or that will do.
Also, in case you haven't seen the launch trailer for Dead Space: http://www.gametrailers.com/player/41505.html
I really, really like this trailer... it just has a real epic, cinematic feeling to it. It shows that there IS a plot and there ARE some insanely big monsters. I actually feel like this is one of the best trailers I've seen in a while. The editing is superb and the music and video just match up so well. It just really makes me want to go on a sci-fi/horror adventure right now!
Anyways, hi peoples! I wrotes a journal! Weeee!

Super Furry Fighters!
Posted 18 years agohttp://youtube.com/watch?v=C_-7DelOfjQ
Well, well, well. What do we have here? Super Furry Fighters, that's what! I was browsing through Youtube and came across this little gem(IMO) hiding in the furry videos.
It's a fan-subbed anime, but it's oh-so hilarious. If you need a good laugh, give it a watch. It's broken into 4 parts, all of which are located in the 'Related' list, which is why I'm only linking to the first part. Be warned though, it is very random in it's humor. So don't watch it too seriously, lest your head explode. =3
Watch it, come back, comment on whether you liked it or not. If you do find it offensive for whatever reason, do tell why you found it such. But if you find it extremely retarded, that I can understand without reasoning.
Happy watchings!

Poofed Hair?
Posted 18 years agoSo I got out of the shower. My hair is fairly long and thick, so in order to dry it throughly I need to blow-dry it. Afterwards, though. My hair poofed up so much, haha. With the right hair gel or hair spray it could well become an afro.
Imagine that - an afro on a white guy. Why, it defies the laws of... fashion. I can see it now. I had just turned my hair into an afro when I hear a knock at the bathroom door, "Who could that be?" I wonder to myself. When all of a sudden BAM! The door is kicked down as a woman yells, "I'M FOXY CLEOPATRA AND I'M A WHOLE LOTTA WOMAN... and the fashion police!". *Gasp*
Yes, that's how it would go, and I never tried pulling off an afro again...
[This story of incredible randomness was brought to you by: Randomland inside my Warped Brain. Where the butt-floss fairies frolic and play. Yep, that's what they do: frolic.... MORE RANDOMNESS! *Gasp*]
