Just Curious
Posted 4 years agoRecently saw this image on Twitter and was curious how accurate it was (not the final tweet, the one about furries hating NFTs).
I personally am against NFTs fundamentally as, in my view, they are a scam. I don't have a problem with anyone buying into NFTs and I don't even think that the people selling them are necessarily being nefarious, but I just can't morally rationalize selling a permanent note in a ledger for thousands of dollars. The environmental aspect also sucks severely, but I hate to use that argument because it feels like something that can be fixed at some point.
So, my curiosity is: how do you feel about NFTs? And do you think there's some inherent link between furries and hating NFTs?

Posted 4 years agoIf you don't wanna read my personal rant and just want an actual update on how things are goin': I'm gonna be postin' a transformation commission later today & I'm workin' on a set of 3 adoptable humanoid dragons.
Now, onto the personal stuff:
I'm admittedly a bit unsure of what direction I want to move in going forward. I've considered setting up a Patreon as commissions are pretty sporadic for me and a more reliable source of income would give me some set goals to achieve outside of commissions. I'm not sure if the sparse commissions are down to my methodology, though. Maybe I should be making a journal with commission slots to make things more clear? Maybe I'm not promoting my ability to do commissions enough? Maybe my prices are too low or too high? Maybe I don't have enough pricing options for commissions? A lot of possibilities.
Another problem is I post exclusively on FA atm. Every person I've interacted with here has been fantastic but looking at statistics for my own works it seems like discoverability is really difficult to attain on this site. Admittedly I don't have enough experience with other sites to say that this is an FA-specific problem, but it seems as though the only way to get anyone to look at your art is to drive yourself into a specific niche. My transformation pieces do significantly better than any of my pin-up pieces, as an example. I greatly enjoy doing transformation pieces (don't get me wrong) but it's a bit disheartening that my more compositionally artistic pin-ups fall a bit flat. I greatly appreciate those that do look at 'em and leave nice comments, but I feel like I'm monetarily incentivized not to bother. Maybe my problem here just comes down to the classic capitalism vs artistic expression problem, tbh.
Another thing I greatly enjoy doing is adoptables, and I know there's a dedicated market for it... but my last adoptable got very little attention. This could very easily be that my adoptable just wasn't that interesting, but I also feel like I didn't give it the best chance. I've noticed people posting reminders for adoptables which is probably something I'll incorporate into the next batch I make. Another thing I'm not sure about is pricing. A full reference sheet for 100$ is really selling myself short and I'd prefer not to go down that route again. This time I think I'm just doing a single full illustration with a bonus simplified sheet that just explains any important information that isn't available in that illustration. That way even if I end up selling at the base price I'll feel a bit more justified.
Unrelated to anything up there, but man - the Candyman sequel was so bad. I was really looking forward to it but it delivered on absolutely no fronts. Acting was bottom of the barrel, script was a complete mess, cinematography was cut and dry, even the kills were nowhere near as good as the original.

Still Not Dead
Posted 4 years agoHad another big giant 10 piece private commission that I needed a lot of time to hammer away at.
But!
I now return to the land of the living and you'll hopefully see more transformation & pin up stuff from me in the near future. Not much else really to note but I'm looking forward to getting my creative juices flowin'.

Slightly Bigger Update
Posted 4 years agoHorror game idea didn't work out. :^(
The problem I always have with game ideas is that they quickly balloon out of proportion. Then when I try to keep things as simple as possible I end up losing interest. With drawing I can push myself to the end no matter what, even if I end up unhappy with the final results. But with games... the time investment is absolutely massive for meaningful projects. I can understand why people use Kickstarter/Patreon for big game projects because without financial security it's really hard to keep focus.
I'll probably try and brainstorm something that I can keep low in scope - something really arcade-focused so that I can keep the asset count low. Then I'll just kick myself in the ass until it's finished. Hopefully that works. Til then, though, I'm gonna return back to actually making art.
Also I'm still open for commissions. Just throwing that out there since I should probably make a new highlighted post that's less gimmicky.

For Whom It May Concern
Posted 4 years agoMy next piece will be incredibly over-done. It isn't an accurate portrayal of what you would get if you commissioned me for a full art piece as the amount of work that is going into it far outweighs a 100$ price point. Not tooting my own horn here, just talking in terms of the amount of time and effort that's going into it.
More to the point of this post, though, I just thought I'd say that this is probably going to take multiple days and there might be a slight lull. Tooting my own horn a bit, though, I do think the piece is worth the wait - at least, I feel like it's helping me understand stuff that will make its way into future pieces.
It's an Indian cobra with massive bazongas btw.
Also, massive thanks to
Erihya ,
Wamoss , and
CuriousGarchomp for commissioning me! Was a pleasure to work with all of you. :^)

Hello, World!
Posted 4 years agoSince I have no idea what to use the Journal feature for I just thought I'd thank everyone who's been enjoying my work. It's been wonderful seeing so much appreciation and just recently I reached 50 watchers and over 400 favorites! Insane! It's all a bit overwhelming but drawing so much has really helped me get a feel for what I actually want to draw. I've experimented a lot but I think I'm going to focus on soft chubby girls and fun transformations. Those are the most fun for me as I love rendering big tummies and transformations are like pseudo-comics so I get to explore the character a lot more than I normally would.
Oh, and a special thank you to
BorkishBrionne ,
CuriousGarchomp ,
HauntedStar , and
FelDusk for commissioning me! It was great to work with all of you and I'm glad I could make pieces you all enjoyed! :^D
