Yay!
Posted 14 years agoJust got the initial table placements for MFM 15 and the studio has a nice pair of table right at a corner/wall area. This will be perfect for us to work with and make it so much easier to get in and out with Seph and our equipment when we need to. We're really looking forward to selling this year and are trying to have lots of various priced items along with some special surprises that will ONLY be available this year. If you're going to MFM on labor day weekend, make sure you look us up.
Just a warning
Posted 14 years agoIf you leave rude, nasty, tacky, crude comments that I don't like on any journals or submissions, you WILL be blocked. I'm too old, cranky and tired to put up with drama, especially from people who don't know me and are doing nothing more than trying to look big and bad by hiding behind the internet.
I'm normally a nice person and can tolerate a lot, but I am just not going to put up with crap that is unneeded.

They're EVERYWHERE
Posted 14 years agoWith a month and half roughly until MFM, the studio is working hard to get stuff ready to put on the table(s). We're going to have lots more beadwork this year as well as pre-made art/prints. Commissions will be available and a few have already started rolling in. So far, our projected biggest seller is going to be Nyan (poptart) Cats. We're even going to offer custom ones colors as well.
If you're going to MFM, make sure you look for our table. Frost Claw Studios. Stop by, say hi, and buy something. We're planning to have a little something special for customers as well, but I'm not gonna reveal that just yet.

Shipping to Canada
Posted 14 years agoUnfortunately we have recently found out that the USPS will not ship to Canada at this time due to the Canadian Post Office being on strike. Due to this, if you live in Canada and order from us, the shipping costs will be quite a bit more than usual, approx. $5+ minimum as well we need to go through either FedEx or UPS. We have to do this in order to cover shipping charges and at least some of the cost of gas to get to the shipping depots. We're very sorry for this inconvenience and will be keeping an eye on the situation so that we can let our Canadian customers know when prices return to normal.
Long time coming
Posted 14 years agoAfter weeks of not posting anything, the studio is proud to present many new products for sale. We are of course still open for both art and bead commissions. Anything made in beads (except OCs) can be remade if it sells out. We also do custom bead work for varying prices depending on size and complexity.
In order to not spam the site, I will be uploading work over the next several days. Most if not all of the items are for sale and we still offer optional backings for varying prices.

Almost time
Posted 14 years agoNext week is RCFM and honestly, we're both getting pretty nervous. We've never been to this con so we have no idea what to expect. We know a lot of our friends are going and have been before. It's been a roller coaster ride though due to unexpected financial hang ups and trying to make sure we have the funds to make it to the con. I had planned on trying for a spot in the AA, since I don't feel confident enough there to deal yet, but my mate is pushing me to ask for a DD table if there are any available. Honestly, I'm starting to not want to go at all now thanks to the stress he's putting on me. I know he's worried about the finances, but he's being such an ass about it that it isn't helping anything at all.
Help us get to RCFM
Posted 14 years agoWe don't normally like to do this, but we could really use some help right now. Thanks to trying to help out other friends and family earlier in the year (and bills), we've depleted our con savings. Our goal is to raise at least $500 to help offset the costs of going to RCFM. We've never been and have a lot of friends that go that we would like to see.
Current sales to help raise money:
NYOP (G-XXX)
Hardcover sketchbook $100 (to be filled with G-XXX sketches and line art)
Prints $10 (high quality professional prints of original works)
Pokemon fan art, singles or families done on cardstock in full color with basic background.
Yes I WILL do adult art, nudes, pin-ups, etc, but please read my TOS first.

Name your price
Posted 14 years agoIn the hopes of drumming up a little more business I am going to offer a few "Name your own price" commissions. As is typical, the more you pay, the more you get. Badges are the only thing not going to be offered in this, but everything else it up for grabs including character sheets. All digital work will include a high res version emailed to you, but only traditional sold for $5+ will be mailed out.
Paypal only please as I'd like to get started right away. I'll start with 5 slots and add more depending on the workload.

Small update.
Posted 14 years agoI really don't update things here often enough, but I can assure you the studio is still hard at work on commissions and working on new and interesting items to offer everyone.
First up. RCFM badges are still open for pre-orders.
Each badge is $25, full color, approx. 4x5in, laminated and clipped.
Digital techniques are being learned and improved so that in the near future prints can be offered for both traditional and digital work as well as the possibility of a portfolio CD.
As usual for all interested or curious, feel free to send a note and the studio will get back to you ASAP.

RCFM
Posted 14 years agoWith RCFM roughly 2 months away it is time for me to start selling con badges. The studio has come up with a beautiful design just for the theme "Dressed to the Nines". Since we will not be in the dealers room (this year), the badges will be pre-order only and delivered at the con. I have raised my prices some, but I felt it necessary to better cover the cost of my time and materials. Each badge is on card stock, fully colored and includes either a hand drawn back ground or fancy card stock at embellishments. Tuxes, tails and fancy formals abound with these special badges.

Working schedule and Featured Friend.
Posted 15 years agoI had been meaning to change the Featured each week, but after getting sick and playing catch up I have sadly fallen behind. But, better late than never I suppose.
So, without further ado, this weeks Featured Friend is going to be none other than
addlesee. A lot of people just do not appreciate his work and this is sad. Sure his style isn't new, trendy, or cute and fuzzy, but it is classic, not old. He draws, inks, writes, and a multitude of other jobs for his art. Beneath his toughened exterior lies a heart of gold and I am proud to call him a friend.
Now, on to something a bit less important and interesting, my working schedule. I have decided that when I am home on weekends I will be getting back to work on the PPP (Pokemon Perler Project). So that I don't burn out on it, I might start tossing in monsters from the early FF games as well. During the week I will work on regular art such as personal art and commissions in traditional and digital media as well as possibly some fursuiting type stuff or ears and tails.

Featured Friends.
Posted 15 years agoAfter a bit of thought, we have decided to feature one of our friends and fellow artists each week. We'll give you a little info on them, a link to their page and why we like them so much. Each week we will feature someone new.
This week we have decided to feature
angelfyre
Angel is a sweetheart. She's kind, caring and a loyal friend. We don't get to talk to her as often as we'd like, but such is life and living.
Angel does Poser art and jewelry design. She is one of the very few Poser artists who we feel does excellent work and actually tries to make their piece art instead of just throwing stuff together to make 3D porn with it. Poser programs are not easy to work with (for some) and it takes time and patience to make a piece look good.
Angel also does very beautiful beaded jewelry. She has done some amazing custom pieces and charges a fair price for her work. We highly encourage everyone to go check her out and give her a +watch.

Valentines special!
Posted 15 years agoFor Valentines Day I am going to be running a special couples deal. The price will be $15 and you will get a (roughly) 8x8 sweetheart image of you and your chosen one (mate, hubby, bf, gf, etc) kissing in full color with a simple back ground inside a heart shaped border. You will also receive a pair of perler bead heart shaped keychains in the color of your choice.
And now, back to my regularly scheduled commissions.
Posted 15 years agoJust sent off all the CD art for approval so for the time being it's done. I'll make any needed changes of course though. That leaves me with one more commission to complete and then I will be working on personal and pre-made to sell items for a bit. I might actually do up some prints as well. I've got so many things I want to work on and need to get done, time really flies for me. I will also be taking time to get some gifts done and sent out too.
New Beadwork coming soon!
Posted 15 years agoThat's right, new beadwork. In fact it will be a new type of beadwork. The studio will still be offering perler bead sprites, but we will now be experimenting with seed bead weaving as well. We're going to start small with maybe a few keychains or ornament type items and work up to larger and larger pieces. Since this will be a new venue, we will be open to considering requests on what our watchers and customers would like to see.
There are a few things to keep in mind though when ordering or requesting a piece done in seed beads. First off, seed beads are TINY little things. They also come in a wide array of colors so we have a larger pallet than we do with perler beads. They will take longer to complete a piece with as weaving takes time and not all beads are fit to weave with.
We are also currently experimenting with what type of backing to use to stiffen the woven seed beads with, so improvements will be made as we become more familiar with this new product line.

Just in case
Posted 15 years agoIn the event this account and/or my personal account
emira get banned, I can still be found over on Inkbunny, and to a lesser extent now, Deviantart. The same goes for my mate and business partner
kengi
It's pretty apparent some artists just can't handle competition and use their friendships to get rid of the competition.
I'm not going to go into a long drawn out rant about it since it'd just be a waste of my time and energy and I have too many other things I need to get done.

Jewelry
Posted 15 years agoNew to the Frost Claw Studios ever expanding list of items for sale, is jewelry. Plans are in the works to make everything from earrings to bracelets, anklets, and necklaces, including bone chokers (and other types as well). Starting off as mentioned over on
emira will be themed bracelets (and maybe necklaces and earrings) for Fall, Winter, Spring. I might also toss something Christmasy in there too if I get time/supplies. Everything will be priced individually so ask for a quote if you're interested.

Posted 15 years agoNormally I wouldn't do this, but I really need a new laptop and since I actually want to do something to earn the money, I am going to offer name your own price commissions.
This is how it works. Depending on the amount you pay me, I will do anything from a simple sketch to a big full color piece of art or even pokemon bead sprites. You are free to suggest what you'd like and even send me character references.
To those I owe digital pieces to, I am still working on them as well as I can on my desktop computer.
To anyone who participates, I appreciate this more than I could express even through my artwork.
