Mental health has been a bit squishy
Posted 5 days agoUnfortunately this has been ongoing, but itās been manageable up until these past couple months. I think that the monotone color scheme and lack of windows in our apartment is starting to really take its toll on my brain, especially now that Iāve been working from home.
I donāt like to get out of the house much in this town either unfortunately, as itās just all around not the most pleasant and Iām a homebody anyway. I really, really miss being out in the country with the openness and big windows that my parentsā house has. I could at least be a happy homebody there lol.
This is unfortunately the reason why Iām such a snail. Iām constantly trying to distract myself from this weird suffocation so I can get my creative flow going enough to work on things, and normally Iād go off and do something to help with that. Since Iām away from my parents though Iām not around to tag along on those little breaks that I need, and my bf and roommates all work full time so Iām just alone all day.
Parents live like 45 miles out so itās a bit of a drive, otherwise Iād just go hang out for a bit and come back. Thereās a lot of mental turmoil with the idea of moving back in simply bc I obviously wanna live with my bf, but I think it may be the best option.
I also wouldnāt have to pay a crazy rent out there š my bank account is a little sad rn, but I prefer not to advertise a bunch and take on too many commissions when Iām not at least completing a couple pieces a week.
Iām gonna have to try and wedge more adoptables in with the queue items but regardless work will continue as normal. I just kinda wanted to air out a bit I guess. I once again apologize for the wait on things, but Iām getting through them! Thankfully none of this has stripped the joy from working on art, Iām just constantly trying to fight off the dark and twisties now.

Posted a month agoI havenāt been posting as frequently as Iād like, so I figured Iād make a lil quick update for anyone curious on where I disappear off to.
For around a month now weāve been trying to make the transition into home cooking since all the fast food was destroying our moods. Itās been very rewarding, but it takes soooo much time and resource management that i need to work on.
Now that ive got a somewhat arduous chore i get to do consistently that gives me a break, I feel like a cloud(?) is gone and I can focus more clearly when I sit down to work on art. Took long enough š„² the goal is to clear the queue within the month though so I can put new stuff out for yall!
On a side note, Iāve gotten SUPER into the anime Delicious in Dungeon. Itās gorgeous and has sexy monsters, so you guys should check it out! Iām gonna be making some adopts inspired by it here soon!

Any tips on time management?
Posted 2 months agoI know a lot of people on here do commission work full time. How do yall go about focusing on stuff? I have quite a bit I do during the day, but I still have a lot of time and am just unorganized I think.
Is anyone whoās been doing this for a while has any little tidbits, Iād appreciate it! Itās like I get to thinking about the concepts Iām about to work on and have to walk around and do something in the meantime, but that obviously isnāt very productive.
Whatās helped a lot lately is cooking meals at home because I have somewhat of structure and a schedule I need to stick to now, but I still just get weird and feel the need walk around a bit before I sit down to actually like draw. It usually leads to a distraction of some sort that eats up time and repeat.

Found a schedule that works!
Posted 2 months agoSudden change, but Iāll be switching to match my bfās work schedule since I quickly learned heās a bit too distracting while heās here for me to work on things the way Iād like to. He plays the drums, and we meal prep, and sometimes we gig, run around, etc. The rest of the week I refuse to leave the house, so this works better.
Itās gonna be Tuesday-Saturday with most active hours being 1:00pm to 9:00pm CST. Iāll most likely still work on commissions even on my off days, but there just wonāt be many posts or notes from me during that time!
Slowly but surely discovering whatās gonna work best moving forward. Itās been super fun and exciting so far thanks to yall <3

Posted 3 months agoThe queue is moving along pretty regularly still bc itās not a lack of motivation or anything, but I havenāt been able to get nearly as much done as Iād like solely because I donāt think Iāve had a single normal week since quitting Samās. Thereās always been something going on. Nothing crazy, just weird stuff??

Trying to work out a schedule š¤
Posted 4 months agoSo far Iāve been trying to balance commissions/mystery eggs/etc with putting like adopts out so I can keep some sort of continuous income, but it doesnāt quite work out the way I want since I take so much time on certain things. I think what Iām going to do now is just alternate the days I work on commissions vs adopts and stuff, that way itās easier for me to stay efficient.
Today is commission day, tomorrow Iāll work on non-queued stuff, and so on. My days off will be more so random and in correlation with what my bf has going on since Iām a homebody otherwise.
Iāll usually always be available to respond to notes and such unless Iām away from home or something.

Posted 4 months agoThe plan was to be fully active on here today, but Iām gonna end up going with my bf & his band to take a video of them when they play later, and itās an all day thing š®āšØ. Progress will continue tomorrow o/ !

Posted 4 months agoLove that insurance decides to wait until I have a breakdown and quit my job to bill me for my appointment I had months ago. Itās not a huge balance, but extremely aggravating nonetheless š¤¦āāļø.

Posted 5 months agoThe water has finally been fixed, and Iām allowed to stay in our room again thankfully. Thereās a bunch of holes they cut out of the walls everywhere, but whatever. I can at least get my routine going again. Too mentally ill for allat lol felt like my brain was on fire for a few days straight.
Anyways, Iām happy to be continuing work as usual now! Hopefully nothing else breaks. Our sink is still installed backwards from the last mishap with this stupid apartment š«©

Still no water
Posted 5 months agoHopefully itāll be fixed by tomorrow. Everything is wrong and thrown off and thereās a lot of holes they had to drill into our walls. It sucks lol.
Apparently these buildings are just old and shitty, so the recent earthquakes have really messed things up. The plumbers were baffled by the piping situation as well, and struggled to find the main line.
Not a pitty party just trying to keep everyone informed, since Iām normally a tidbit more active o/

Posted 5 months agoWe had plumbing people in and out most of today because of slab leaks under our complex, so production during the day wasnāt very great. The plan was to get a piece finished and another sketched tonight, but workflow has unfortunately been halted because of my stupid roommate making extremely me uncomfortable š¤·š½āāļøšš
TW for bathroom talk, but would yāallās first resort to not being able to flush the toilet be to piss outside in a SHARED space? With 3 other people?? We have a TINY fucking patio and instead of pouring water into the toilet to flush like a normal person heās deciding to piss outside. In our patio area. That we like to sit and eat and socialize at. It boggles my entire mind and Iām SO frustrated that itās interrupted my comfort so much that I canāt even focus enough to draw. Like seriously dude.
Idk man, Iām just sick of him being insanely inconsiderate. This isnāt the first time but itās certainly one of the weirdest and most disgusting.

Posted 5 months agoAfter I finish the commissions that were taken through that site Iām never using it again omg, itās so funky. I apologize in advance to the people who I may end up having to struggle through this with. Iāve had this issue with two people so far, so thereās bound to be others. What itās been doing is not allowing me to mark commissions as complete and receive the rest of the 50% itās holding, despite my customers having paid in full already technically.
What Iāve been doing is just refunding and moving the transaction to Kofi instead, so if yāall see money pop back up in yāallās account thatās why! And I understand anybody who ultimately isnāt comfortable with this. Thank god I wonāt be stuck with gumroad anymore, at least.

Commissions
Linework: $25 ( + $5 per extra character)
Flat Colors: $35 ( + $10 per extra character)
Full Shade: $45 ( + $15 per extra character)
Ref Sheet: $90 base-price (comes with front + back view + nsfw. I can add closeups for $12 each.)
I am willing to do specific (very simple) backgrounds if discussed! But otherwise I will take creative freedom. You will receive a transparent and background version of your piece. If your piece is NSFW I will not upload it to kofi itself when I mark your commission as complete. It will only be posted here, or emailed upon request.
*all pieces are fullbody unless otherwise specified.
Other Important Information & Rules
Be respectful. I reserve the right to cancel & refund any commissions due to poor communication or rude behavior.
I take both NSFW & SFW commissions. I refuse to have anything to do with cubs or zoo, but most else (including stuff like watersports, scat, etc.) is up for discussion. I will politely decline any commission that creeps beyond my comfort. I will post the more hardcore/kinky pieces on a separate account as to not jumpscare my audience here on this one.
I will not be making any changes to the pose once I begin linework, so please inform me of any changes that need to be made during the sketch phase!
All commissions take place through Kofi!
Wait times can range from a week to 2 months depending on what my queue looks like, and I will directly contact you with a WIP when I have begun work on your commission. I am willing to give full refunds until I have begun your commission, at which point I will refund what is proportionate to the work conpleted.. If I need to be in regular contact with you, and you disappear before a commission is complete, I will put your commission into the āMIAā queue for 30 days. If I still do not hear from you beyond that, I will cancel and refund your commission.
I will not do business with new accounts that have no activity. Y'all are kinda scary.
Once the commission has gotten your final approval and is posted I cannot go back and make any further edits to the piece.
I will always be reachable through the notes system on here if you have any questions, concerns, etc!

My customs are currently a set price of $50 to kick things off! This includes a front + back view of the character, as well as a NSFW version.
If youād like for everything to be fully shaded, it will be an additional $30.

Iām going to be completely honest; I just canāt do Samās anymore. I can tell that my days there are very numbered now, and Iāve been gathering a renewed sense of appreciation and motivation for online work. I realize now how good I had it doing commission work before I started full-time at Samās. Between switching to full time and being bogged down by everything else going on during that time period drained my energy so bad I could barely even visit this site anymore, however Iām a dumbass for not staying consistent with it and keeping up with all those commissions. If I had, I would be in a much better place now.
But better late than never, I suppose. Dealing with a little demotivation every now and then is infinitely better than whatever hell I have to deal with in the retail field currently. Plus I donāt live with my parents anymore, and Iām determined to make life easier for my partner as well, so lots of new motivators.
Iām determined to grow as an artist and really dial in my skill this year, because I will literally go insane if I donāt, lol. In all seriousness though, I just miss all this terribly, and Iām excited to come back <3

Posted 2 years agoI canāt even express how grateful I am for the people who have supported me and lended me so much patience on this platform. You guys are sincerely the best, and I am happy to give you all the news that Iāve finally started issuing refunds for the unfinished commissions. There is one more person who is owed that I will have to issue out on payday this upcoming week, but after that I think the canvas has been cleared!
I assume the process wonāt be immediate, but if you guys donāt receive the money back within the next few business days Iāll see if I can figure out how long itāll be until gumroad issues them through. If thereās any other issues, feel free to let me know about that as well!
