Got Circa Survive's Blue Sky Noise-cd.

It's awesome. Awesomeawesome.

Hadn't heard any Circa Survive before (at all), but I heard they did a show with Co&Ca, so I figured it'd be worth a listen. I must say, I was positively surprised.

I also ordered Prize Fighter Inferno's My Brother's Blood Machine, but it hasn't come yet. :(

I finished the Rysäkari march competition. 56 kilometers, with an extra 32 kg's of gear on my back (which is more than half of my own bodyweight, mind you.), cleared in 21 hours.

My shoulders are fucking killing me. Pain is temporary, honor eternal.

It was a tight match, our group was last at one point, but we managed to climb all the way up to second place.

Also, extra-long vacation coming up+ Juhannus (a Mid-Summer holiday/festivity/thing in Finland)= OH LORD THE AMOUNT OF ALCOHOL TO BE CONSUMED.

...because, I can't be bothered to come up with anything myself this weekend. SO, one request gets granted. I'm open to a lot of things but no creepy stuff, kplox. You know Fu don't play dat shit.

And I'm feeling pretty good, since I managed to get through 3 weeks of camping, army-style. We had 600 kgs of gear, no bullshit, and we had to relocate our camp, like, every other day, and couple of times twice a day. Ugh.

But I made it through. Next ordeal is in two weeks; a 56-click march. Whoopee.

On other news,

I got picked for officer-training, i.e. when I finally do get out of army, I'll be like, an ensign (I think that's the right equivalent). I'm moving up in the world. Or, well, at least in rank.

Well, another week in the woods is over, another one to go. NCO-training's going pretty smoothly.

I hate the fact that army's completely taken over my life. It's hard to come up with much else to talk about. :/

On other news, my project is sloooowwwly progressing, bit by bit. I have a lot of ideas for little details and tidbits, but the big picture still remains unclear. The whole thing is kinda... 'scattered', if you will. I dunno. It'll come to me, in due time. I'll try to be patient with this project and let the inspiration come to me, rather than to start drawing it straight away, hoping the ideas'll come as I draw.

I do have some concept sketches, might post them sometime next weekend, we'll see.

I sure did. Two weeks ago. A lot of tests and visits to the doctor occurred. They're gonna take some more tests next week.

Also, I'm working on YET ANOTHER webcomic.

I dunno. I have a really short attention span when it comes to projects like comics an' such. Well, that and me being in the army 26 days a month is making maintaining a constantly updating webcomic a bit hard.

In a nutshell, the new comic will (if it ever sees the light of day, that is) be about a rather ordinary dead guy, who gets resurrected so he could save the world by killing his girlfriend.

This said girlfriend is attempting to find the occult formula for eternal life, which would in turn eradicate death/Death, which naturally would upset the very laws of nature, cosmos and existence. Which in turn (God I'm starting to sound repetetive here) would not be very good. She's too driven (mad) to be reasoned with, and her knowledge of the occult makes her very dangerous.

Any thoughts? Do you think it's worth the time/effort? Would anyone read it?

I finally got home for the weekends. I've spent the last three weeks at the barracks and boy, did it hurt my sanity.

Looks like I'll be spending an entire year in the army instead of the original 6 months I had in mind.

Most of my friends got away with just 6 months of crew-training, but apparently someone higher-up decided I'd make a good corporal. So, I'll be serving an entire year in the army, and receive NCO-training. It ain't gonna be no picnic.

Gahh.

...but next week is going to be hell. HELL. I won't bore you with the details.

There's about 15 thousand comics on DD, of which maybe 5 thousand are active. It's still pretty good.

I'm not getting much done artwise, since the army's wearing me (and my inspiration) pretty thin. Oh well.

So, I got my hands on some busted-up acoustic guitars from a music class. They were headed for the bin, but I found an old Yamaha that was still salvage-able.

I got the The Pitt/Operayshun Wankoridge Fallout 3 add-on. They were pretty good, but I finished 'em in like, two hours each.

Also, I got a wonderful anatomy-book and a scarf, both which I love to bits.

Anything else new? Uh, I'm gonna start my service in the army in a couple of weeks. I'm nervous like a motherfucker, but I guess that's just normal, since it's a whole new experience and 'enviroment', if you will. I'm pretty confident it'll go well, I'm going in there with an open mind.

So I was bored and I actually managed to decipher the leaflet-thing of A Perfect Circle's album Mer De Noms (or the APC-ABC, as I like to call it.), with no help but the leaflet itself.

Well, anyway, we will soon be returning to our regularly scheduled program.

...will be the name for my new comic. All I've got figured out is that it's main character's name will be Hector and he is not a very happy man.

Also, it will propably include deities and Lovecraftian horrors. And an old book shop. Good times to be had.

Then again, this project will most likely be scrapped after the first page, like so many of it's predecessors.
