Posted 13 years agoIm actually a little disappointed about this game, i really enjoyed the last game, apart from the guest characters.
When i saw that Ezio was the guest character in the new game, i was pretty excited, somebody that would actually fit fairly well.
However, when playing the game, i find they've made quite a few changes, they seem to have stolen ideas from other fighting games, losing a little of what differed it that i liked. The main thing was adding in a new power move system called 'Critical Edge', which just comes across as a rip off of what Mortal Kombat & Street Fighter already have.
A lot of the history info that was in the previous game has gone, which would have been nice to have considering this game is set 17 years after SCIV. The story mode gives you a brief insight to this, but now it only follows two of the main characters*, the others are now just incidental. Thats right, no individual storylines.
*The two characters feel like they belong more in a Final Fantasy game, blonde, young and sooooo whiney!
Mimic characters, i normally dont mind having one in a fighting game, its just the norm and has been for a long time, but SCV has at least 3! Thats just lazy.
As the storyline is 17 years on, a handful of the old characters have gone (with no real explination due to no history info), but dont worry, we've got a handful of new ones in their place.....that are carbon copies of the ones that left. There are only 2 brand new characters, which are both pretty interesting i have to admit, and a 3rd in DLC.
The create a character has been nerfed too, while you can be a lot more in depth with whats there, a lot of the adaptability has just gone, admittedly i've still got a lot to unlock, but it doesn't look like i'll be able to do much more with what i do.
6/10 Dont rush to get it, but still a nice fighter if you like the SC series.

Need For Speed: The Run
Posted 13 years agoI decided that i was gonna use this journal as my gaming journal as i dont use it all that much.
So to start with, i'll give a short EA's latest driving game.
Thankfully they seem to have taken a break from the pretty awful NFS:Shift route and by the looks of it gone back down the Most Wanted/Hot Pursuit direction.
However, after playing through the main story, i was left a little dissapointed, yes you got the fast cars, but they'd completely left out any modding of the cars you own, which is one of the things i loved from their racers in the past.
The actual gameplay was actually fun, but there seemed to be a lot of laziness, 'Greased up Breeze Block AI', which is a common annoyance in racers is very evident here, other cars catch you with ease, and any collision will send you spinning more than them, and on top of that, the seem impervious to wrecking in crashes much worse than what would total your car.
You get named head to head races with characters they think up throughout the coast to coast trek, however you seem to come across them again right near the end of the race, despite beating them before, so what was the point?
Swapping cars is a fruitless endevour too, you drive through petrol/gas stations, which are randomly part way through some tracks. You get hints as to what car to use on what type of track, (Muscle - Freeway, Exotic - City, Sports - Country Roads), but you're generally already part way through the track if you're in the wrong type of car, and you have no clue as to what type of track the next section is.
I haven't tried the challenge modes yet, or online, which will unlock more cars but im not holding out a lot of hope of it improving.

About to fly...

I get picked up at 2pm tomorrow, then at 8pm we've got a long ass flight (x2) all the way to Sydney.
I'll be there for 8 days, one of which will be my brother's wedding day. (Aussie summer in a suit will kill me x.x )
Then after that we fly up to Surfers Paradise near Brisbane, and we'll be there til the 23rd, then its home again.
Im really bouncy now, even though i've spent all of today washing and packing X3
Thankfully i dont have to be back at work while the 26th, so it gives me a full day to recover from the jetlag.
ps. artists, please slow down with posting artwork, cos 23 days worth of art is going to flood my inbox D:

Posted 15 years agoDay Five: Six things you wish you’d never done.
Tough one this, not sure i can think of six
1. Let myself be bullied at school, i was taller than most of the kids there, i should have stood up for myself more.
2. Go against my better instinct with our finances, it may have been more difficult at the time, but it'd be much easier now.
3. I wish i'd not let myself go a bit, I could tell i was putting on weight, but i didn't do anything about it which was stupid, now getting it back off is more difficult than keeping myself at a balance
4. Wish i'd not lost touch with some of my college friends back home.
5. Wish i'd gone to see my Nan that night while she was in hospital, I missed my last chance -_-
6. Hidden the fact i had a bf from the people i got on with at work for 5 years, nobody batted an eyelid when they found out anyway.
Tough one this, not sure i can think of six

Stop whining about not going to a con, they're every year, its not the end of the world!
No! *bops with a rolled up newspaper* lose is when you cant find something you had, loose is your ass after taking Thor. Learn the difference!!
Not everybody that you follow will want to follow you, does it really matter?
If you dont want to do something, just say so, dont tiptoe around it. It annoys me more if you make crap excuses than if you just told the truth.
If im feeling down, dont put it across that you're off worse, that doesn't make me feel better
If you're overdoing something and its making you feel ill, dont do it as much!
Dont message me just so you can winge and complain about something, I dont mind listening to the occasional problem, but im not your agony aunt.
Can i have some pancakes? D:
