First of all we want to deeply apologize for being quiet for so long! Fur Feast happened in 2019 as planned. Fur Feast 2020 was however postponed due to covid. It was supposed to be our 10th year. 2021 and 2022 passed and we were still unable to have the event. BUT this year we will be having Fur Feast's 10th anniversary! We look forward to seeing you all there!

We are getting close to registration closing for Fur Feast! To give us time to make the Super Sponsor items we must close down early. That being said, registration for Super Sponsor/Sponsor/Attendee+Shirt will close October 10th. After that only Attendee will be available.
Remember, there will be NO at-the-door registration available due to the catering company needing to know how many people we have. If you wish to attend, please sign up before the event. That's right! Today is November 30th and that means that today is the very last day to register as a Super Sponsor or to order a shirt. If you want a t-shirt you MUST preregister by 11:59PM central time!!! After that we will not be taking any more t-shirt orders as we make the shirts ourselves and only have one day to make them. It's less than 6 months til this year's Fur Feast and we're getting excited! We're happy to announce that we'll be in the same location as the past two years. If you haven't been before, that location is shelter #5 at Lake Afton, near Goddard, KS. Our dates are December 12th and 13th with the potential to open early on the 11th if we able to raise at least $180 in preregistration. Which brings us to the next point. As the title says registration is OPEN! Even if you can't pay right now you can still register and pay later or at the door. We look forward to seeing everyone!

Fur Feast 2014 was lots of fun! We want to thank everyone that attended! This is just going to be a short post-con journal as one of our owners  varaleo was recently injured during an assault so I  shebawolf145 have been pretty busy. We'll have a more in depth update soon!

In order to have shirts for those who registered for Super Sponsor, we will be closing down Super Sponsor registration tomorrow (Wednesday) at 11:59PM. This will give us time to make any additional shirts. This also goes for any additional t-shirt orders. Basically anything dealing with shirts ends tomorrow (Wednesday) at 11:59PM. If you absolutely want to order a shirt after Wednesday it will be after the event when you get it.

Also Fur Feast is in less than a week! So if you plan on coming please sign up! You can pay at the door, the price does not change.

It's getting to be that time of year again! It's time to start planning for this year's Fur Feast. As of right now it looks to be in December because of a couple other local(ish) events and . Unfortunately last year left us with some mixed emotions so we are coming to you, our watchers and hopefully attendees for advice as well as what may work for you. Some of our biggest questions right now are should this be a 1 or 2 day event, and would having it on a Friday night into Saturday morning work better or a Saturday into Sunday morning be better? Also what you may like to see happen at the event other than the potluck meal if it is a two day event. We would love to hear from you!

First off we would like to thank everyone who attended (or prepaid and couldn't attend and donated their registration fee) for helping to make Fur Feast 2013 a success! We had 21 people in attendance and 24 registered.

There were a few hiccups but nothing that we couldn't handle. There are a few special people that we'd like to make a special shout-out to. First is  invisablewolfe90 (Casey) for coming back the second day even though he didn't camp out just to help us with cleanup. He helped keep us sane during the stressful moments, and made clean up fun (Frisbee golf using a tote lid, and empty water jug soccer). So thank you so much Casey! We enjoyed having you around!
Next is  rykenaaelgrin for hanging out with us also during some of the stressful moments, and helping  varaleo with registration when I (Sheba) was swamped with setting up dinner.
Last but certainly not least is  merkindesr and  jimdalefox for helping with things like finding a venue after our original place fell through, letting us borrow some of their equipment, and hosting a pretty awesome dance Saturday night!

Now for a little bit of a rant. This event had been in the works for about 5 months, however due to a lack of funds and interest (I guess?) we had to move the event to somewhere else. This caused a few issues. One being the fact we had to plan more because it turned into a two day event. This change happened 2 weeks before the event and didn't allow for much additional planning. Because of this there were some hiccups. The original venue had a kitchen and attached bathrooms. This new place did not. I know some things that were scheduled did not happen (such as dedicated games) or were late. However complaining out loud (or loud enough that we can hear you) while watching the hosts scramble to get things done on time and on their own is NOT going to help.

With that being said, next year may or may not be a 2 day event. There were a few things that happened that made us very discouraged and it will take quite a bit to make us want to do this big of an event again. It may just strictly be a 1 day event in the future.

If you're going to Fur Feast and don't plan on camping the $3 day pass fee is waived. If you are camping the $7 fee is still in place!

It is just 3 days till Fur Feast and last minute prep-work is being completed. As such there will be no Wichita area furmeet this week. Nor will there be one next Friday as it is the day after Thanksgiving. This worked out nicely as this was a 5 Friday month.

Now about Fur Feast if you have missed the journals leading up to it. It is a potluck dinner event out at Lake Afton in shelter #5 (same spot as CPFM). There are two levels of admission and prizes. Prices to get in at the door will still be the same. We will be asking all attendees to sign waivers at the door as well, minors will need an adult's signature. And if you want extra chances at the raffle prizes you can buy tickets at the event. Also since it is potluck you must bring some kind of food item with you. Right now we have enough people bringing drinks. Silverware, cups, and plates are being provided so those will not count. After all it would not be fair to let people in who don't bring something to eat at a feast. It is now a two day event with the option to camp if you want to. Please note right now the forecast for that night is in the 20's, so plan and pack accordingly. If you are coming out to the event please do not show up before noon. The main meal of the event should start around 4 p.m. And the following morning a breakfast of maybe leftovers, and pancakes. We would like to try and have everyone out of the building by 5 p.m. on Sunday so after breakfast you will be on your own for food. Some other things is that we will have are tables and games till the feast, a chance to make s'mores after dinner and the raffle. There will be a dance Saturday night from 9 till 11 done by Merk & Dale.

Fursuits are welcome and it should definitely be cool enough for them! We are also looking for more raffle items, so if you have anything that you would like to donate please bring them!

We are 2 weeks away from Fur Feast and we are getting excited (and anxious ). We have many updates to share with you all so if you plan on attending please read!

The location of Fur Feast has changed due to us not being able to secure the original venue. Fur Feast will now be held at Lake Afton near Cheney, KS. The only changes this will mean is that there will not be a full kitchen so food must be precooked. We may have means to reheat food however. And the bathrooms are not in the building. However there will be several good changes. Instead of being 4-6 hours it will be all day, and we may be able to camp at this location and make it a two day event. This is a good option for anyone that will be coming from out of town. They can camp instead of making the trip back home or staying at a hotel. Only downside of camping is it's an additional $7, and that is paid to the park, not us. If you are just staying for one day there will be a fee of $3 that the park charges.

As for the change...due to not coming up with the funds fast enough the place we wanted to rent is no longer available for the 23rd. However it is available (for now) for the 24th. So either we move it back a day, or we change the location. I have looked into another location for the same price that is available the 23rd (for now). We just really need to get it rented as soon as possible before it is longer available as well.

Which would you prefer? A different location, or a different day? Please let us know in a comment below.

We need to come up with at least $250 by the 13th in order to reserve the venue. $250 will insure that we get the facility for 4 hours. We would like at least 6 hours for the event so we need to come up with $325. So far we have $40 D: so if you plan on coming please preregister so we don't have to find a different venue and maybe even have to limit the number of attendees!

We are looking into a new venue this year. Those who attended last year may remember the small building this event was held in. This year we are hoping to rent a much larger building. In order to do this we are requiring a registration fee. The fee is very small but will guarantee that you have food when you attend, and will get us closer to our goal of renting the larger building.

In order to attend the event you need to pay the registration fee of $10 (or $15 if sponsor), AND bring a food item. While you CAN register and pay at the door it is highly preferred that anyone who wishes to attend to preregister online so that everyone knows how many people to plan for.
