Hey! Listen! ^w^
Posted 11 years agoHey!
I'm super bored out ehre, and I'd love it if anyone wants ot RP with me. the best way to reach me out here is via email, since sometimes they turn on this system to limit the hours your network account has access. My 24/7 email address is: dsommer[at]cvn70.navy.mil
Send me something any time! Or, you know... all the itme... please? OwO

Goings on...
Posted 11 years agoWell, there's actually a lot to talk about. I'm tempted to post some of my 2+ year old sketches, because contrary to what I thought (and what I thought I'd think in the future...???) some are actually decent, especially by my standards.
My writing has been stalled for... yeah, I'd say over a year. Maybe I'll do NaNoWriMo this year (there's an issue with that, and I'll explain in a sec). I have to work up the willpower to complete old projects and actually pursue new ones (it didn't help that my new laptop didn't come with word, so that's $140 gone). I also realize, looking back, that my characters do things for stupid reasons. I really suck at motivations and I find myself just throwing something together to move on to the next interesting bit.
So, now for IRL issues. I'm in the Navy, right? Well, back in 2012 I started my career by going to school to be a linguist. After being there a year (halfway through my studies) I failed out of the classes and was sent instead to do grunt work on an aircraft carrier. I swore I'd get all qualified and super professional so I could go back to that school and try again. One year after that (i.e. now), I'm still doing grunt work, still no closer to getting back there, and now that i'm halfway through my enlistment I'm starting to wonder if I'll even do another. It doesn't help that I'm getting deployed next month for ten frigging months! (Hence why NaNoWriMo will be complicated)
I guess that's the biggest issue right now: I'll be gone for sooooo long.
Q&A Time?
Q&A Time.
Will you still be around? - I'll still be able to get on FA, but their computers for some reason break certain pages, so images might pop up all the same, or transpose whole sites for a single icon from the navigation bar. (dafuq?) So I can't view submissions, except maybe writings. I can get Notes, though.
No attending streams or meets (obviously).
Can't skype because I can't install anything on navy hardware. Same with SecondLife.
Email: yes.
In fact, the most effective method of communication turns out to actually be Facebook (bleh). I may have to exhume my account and wade through all the drama to stay in touch. At least their IM system works with speed comparable to real internet.
The fact is, I may not get much time to do so, but I'll try to get on every day.
I'm going to need people to send
Yuki_Arika_Muze some love, though. Shi doesn't like it when I have to go, and shi doesn't use email or facebook very often.
Is it dangerous? - Uhh... maybe? Quite honestly, there's not much chance of laser death battles while I'm out. I mean, the last little trip we took was a month long, and a jet kind of crashed. That was pretty much it.
Do you want us to send you anything? - Heh, I'll bet not a single person is actually wondering that, but no. I don't have room for the stuff I already have. :P I'm trying to stock up on steam games, music, and various other stuff to keep me occupied.
Well, that's all I can think of for now. when i go I'll probably make some special icon that says "deployed" or something across it, and edit my profile so people don't go nuts waiting for responses.

*rages*
Posted 11 years agoWelp, AC is out the window. It was the one thing I had to look forward to before deployment, and I can't go because my upper chain of command is being stubborn for no reason.
AnthroCon
Posted 11 years agoWelp, I put in leave, but it's still in the approval stage. As soon as they say I can go, I'm buying plane tickets and looking for someplace to stay. X3 I'm excited.
BRB?
Posted 11 years agoI'M GONNA BE TRAVELING! Yes, very soon I'm gonna be completely out of internet range until some time next month! That's why no FC for me this year. Sucks, but nothing I can do about it. For anybody who wanted to help me out with the Chakat family tree, please do. However, I obviously won't be able to thank you or update the tree while I'm away. I won't be able to respond to any notes or stuff, and I'm truly sorry. I'm gonna put up a big-ass thing on my profile during my absence to warn everyone that I'm long-term AFK.
Thank you, and see you in Feb!

Ah needs halp!
Posted 11 years agoMmkay, so I'm building the family tree for one of my character, Chakat Treadwater. http://www.furaffinity.net/view/12482055/ BUT, I've all but run out of ideas for colorations/patterns and I think it'd be cool to get some fresh stuff from others. Please help me out here and take these templates: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/12482080/ and make some taurs for the tree! Feel free to note me a link or email me at duncan.sommer[at]gmail.com and I'll update the tree!
Please keep in mind:
I think i need more normally-patterned ones than I have. But this is not a restriction.
Skunktaurs, Foxtaurs, and Wolftaurs use normal colors and patterns, but there's still a lot of variety out there.
The children of Foxtaurs and Wolftaurs tend to take on coloration similar to their Foxtaur parent.
You may notice a few of the patterns there are based on other things, like birds. This is not only okay, but looks great when done!
If there is more than one submission for a taur, I'll probably move the less-fitting pattern to a different slot.
And the lists!
Chakats:
silvertide
starfall
cloverwind
emerald
littleflower
icemane
moontrace
silverfur
sunrain
sparkeye
goldsummer
curelight
hematite
maple
Foxtaurs:
larmont
ernani
Descendants of Foxtaurs:
bronzetail
moonpaw
nightwatch
lionstar
Descendants of Wolftaurs:
mirrorlake
frostlight
skunktaurs:
chelkay
kuftie
cherrytree
deeptide
newpath
mosscloak
