Going to Furry Migration? Looking for Panelists
Posted 9 years agoI've got an idea for a panel at Furry Migration but I need your help, if you've got a suit from a big name maker* or are a local maker and might be interested, read on.
* I'm looking for suits from big name/local makers to be on the panel because they will provide the most relevant content for attendees who may be looking to buy a suit. Everyone is invited to the post panel Q&A to show their work.
The goal of my panel, "Meet Your Maker" is to provide potential comissioners information (good/bad/etc.) from suit owners before they go out and spend thousands of dollars on a suit.
The first part of the panel will consist of a guided discussion about the process of comissioning your suit, a top to bottom review of the finished product (fit, comfort, vision, etc.). The second part will be an open meet & greet session open to all Makers/Owners where attendees can talk to individual suit owners/makers, ask questions and AT THE SUIT OWNER'S DISCRETION examine the suits hands on.
If you're interested, have questions or know someone who might be interested, please NOTE or email me buckeyejackalopeATgmail.com BEFORE JULY 4TH.

Birthday Ahead.
Posted 9 years agoFriday I complete another circumsolar navigation and with that come the rituals associated with that event.
If you're in the Twin Cities area and are free Saturday Afternoon, I'll be at Central Park in Roseville around 3 to take a nice walk (no suits, tails, ears etc) around the lake and then grab an early, low key (ie not making my bday a big deal) dinner somewhere nearby., I have a few places, can't decide what. RSVP to the "RSVP Here" comment.
If you're not in the Twin Cities or can't make it and feel like helping me celebrate, I can always use more art of Buckeye (SFW only please), or I'm also looking for a new character (dm me first)

FurSquared, Furry Migration and Midwest Furfest
Posted 9 years agoI'm looking for a room at FurSquared if anyone has room available, dates are flexible but would prefer a Monday checkout.
Furry Migration I'm also looking for a room or people who need a room. I'll probably commute each day but I need somewhere to suit up and chill if anyone can help me.
Finally I'm making progess towards my goal of getting to Midwest Furfest this year. (See this journal http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/7235876/ or http://walkingforfurfest.org) 65.6 miles down 734.4 to go.

Help me get to MFF2016
Posted 10 years agoHelp me join you at #mff2016 and change my life in the process - http://walkingforfurfest.org/
All my life I've been overweight (300 lbs+) and out of shape and while I'm fortunate not to have any major health issues, I need to make a change.
I've tried multiple times over the past few years to lose weight and get in shape each time I make progress but I can never seem to maintain it.
I want this time to be different and I'm turning to you the furry community to ask for your help.
Right now I can't say enough about how things have changed in the past year since I really started getting involved in the fandom. I've gone from sitting on the sidelines to regularly attending local events, suiting at charity events which have raised hundreds of dollars, being on the Furry Migration staff and even running my own event, Furry Weekend Omegle.
The best thing I've experienced is meeting so many of you either online or in person and after seeing all the fun you had at MFF 2015 I have to be a part of it.

My thoughts on the all the LGBTQ stuff.
Posted 10 years agoBefore I begin, please read the entire post before commenting.
I've been dealing with this in my head for too long and it's time for it to come out.
I'm finally glad to see this, hopefully, come to and end because I'm getting tired of the whole thing.
I'm tired of it for many reasons.
I'm tired and fed up with people on both sides of the debate. We're all adults but were acting like kids, instead of coming together and working out a solution we've called each other names, thrown temper tantrums and ultimately kept running to Mommy and Daddy when we didn't get our way.
I'm tired of the rainbow flag and pride, not because I agree or disagree with it. My feeling is if you want go a pride fest have fun and more power to you, but you won't see me there though it's just not something I'm interested in. I'm tired of the flag and pride in that they're saturating the media. I have the same feelings about Christmas, a little bit is fine but when I stores start playing Christmas carols and selling trees in September, I get tired of Christmas because it's everywhere.
I'm also tired because I feel that the flag and the whole movement has been somewhat corrupted, it's turned into the 'it' thing. I feel like there are people and companies that are displaying the flag to avoid controversy and to make it seem like they care or sell their products. I had the same feelings with the breast cancer pink. A company would say "a portion of proceeds go to charity XXX", that portion could be $0.01 on a product that cost $1 more than the exact same product but not in a pink bottle.
As for the SCOTUS ruling, I agree with both sides, people should have rights and the states should have rights (that's a whole debate on it's own) we're not a one size fits all country. Personally I'm not for gay marriage nor am I against it, and I think government should just get out of marriage all together.
I have LGBTQ relatives, friends ,including many of you, and extended family (interesting fact, my Grandmother-in-law's daugther and her partner were the first same-sex couple legally married in my home state after it was legalized), the fact that anyone is GLBTQ or whatever doesn't bother me. I may not like it, understand it or care about it. I care WHO you are NOT WHAT you are.
Both sides need to give and take.
Anti Marriage - Does gay marriage have any effect on you? Why should it matter to you? You're not right.
Pro Marriage - Realize that there are bigotted assholes out there but also realize that they don't speak for everyone. You're not right either.
GLBTQ or whatever, if you're being bullied, belittled or ostracized because of what you are remember this quote "Just be yourself. Whatever happens, they can't take that away from you." and if you need someone to talk to I am more than open to talk with you here or on skype (PM me). I don't want to ever see or hear about someone hurting themselves or worse because the truth is that EVERYONE is here for a reason.
In closing, I hope we as individuals, groups, states, nations and as the human race can put this behind us and move on to solve bigger more important problems.
LOVE IS LOVE be it one man one woman, two men, two women who gives a shit, at the end of the day we're all humans and we all have to live together so we might as well make the best of it.

Furry Weekend Omegle Wrap Up and Thank You.
Posted 11 years agoFurry Weekend Omegle came about because during my visits to Omegle, especially during MFF, I met a lot of furs who for various reasons couldn't attend cons or meets, who didn't know any other furs or were just shy, anxious or had other things going on in their lives and used Omegle as a way to get out and meet other furs and have some fun. The problem was you could go on Omegle for quite a while and not find many people to talk to.
I created Furry Weekend Omegle to remedy that. When I posted the flyer I was expecting maybe a few dozen people to participate. Instead it grew larger than I ever expected.
My goal was not to become a popufur (I don't want that but I certainly feel like one now) but to organize a gathering that let people meet and interact with fellow furs and hopefully have a good time doing that and based on what I saw on Omegle, FA, Twitter and Instagram, that's what happened.
I want to give credit to all of you. All I did was pick some dates and create a flyer.
You did all the work.
You reposted it to your FA, Twitter, Instagram and Youtube accounts.
You took time out of your weekend to particpate.
I am truly humbled by how you took my simple idea and made it into somthing much much bigger.
For that I say Thank You.
Let me know how things went and what to do next by taking a quick survey and please repost my thank you submission to help spread the word about the survey.
http://tinyurl.com/FWOSurvey
(Survey results will be posted here early January if you're interested in the results.)
Thanks again, and lets plan on another FurryWeekendOmegle.
