ATTN VOCALISTS: Looking For A Male Singer / Voice Actor.
Posted 12 years agoHey everyone!
gothyk is looking for a male singer/voice actor to help him with "Devil Take the Hindmost" from Love Never Dies. If you're interested go ahead and shoot him a message! I've worked with him before and he's a lot of fun!
As a sidenote, I apologize for the group falling so far behind. As many of you may (or may not!) know I've had a difficult few months. I've let many things lapse that need catching up on. That being said, this group will be updated once I get a little more free time. Hopefully that will be in just a few weeks once physical therapy is done :P

NEW Music AUP Changes: What They Mean To You!
Posted 14 years agoThe Music AUP has been changed again!
Source: http://forums.furaffinity.net/threa.....=1#post2659397
Original "new" policies are in red
Updated new policies are in green.
Explanation of the changes are in black or white depending on your scheme. I am NOT an admin of FA, explanations are simply of how I understand the changes, as well as any comments or concerns I personally have.
Copyright Tracks
Copyrighted audio tracks (material that the uploader has not performed or recorded) are prohibited unless you are the copyright holder. Cover versions of other recording artists' songs are allowed provided all the instrumentation, vocals, etc are performed/recorded by the uploader or a ensemble to which the uploader belongs. Uploads which violate the Copyrighted Content policy will result in an automatic suspension.
Commercial audio tracks may not be uploaded to the site unless the uploading user is the copyright holder and is the original performing artist.
Cover versions of other recording artists' songs are allowed provided the instrumentation, vocals, etc. are performed/recorded by the uploader or a ensemble to which the uploader belongs. Voice overs/audio tracks are permitted provided the music portion is A) public domain or B) intended for song over work (e.g. Karaoke mixes).
The Karaoke confusion has finally been cleared up. You CAN post vocal covers with karaoke tracks.
Remixes
Remixes must contain significant work to distinguish themselves from the original content. "Significant work" is determined by the proximity to the original song (e.g. changing equalization/pitch is NOT considered "significant work"). The work must strive to create something new and original. The uploader must give due credit to the original creators of any non-original songs or samples used.

The work must strive to create something new and original. The uploader must give due credit to the original creators of any non-original songs or samples used.
This has not changed.
Mashups
Mashups are not permitted.
Mashups, mixes, mixtapes, live sets, and other audio that does not contain significant editing by the user are not permitted. Mashups containing significant editing and post-production work may be deemed a "remix" at the discretion of Fur Affinity and are therefore subject to the AUP's Remixes Policy. This decision is at the sole discretion of FA and its moderators.
Mashups ARE allowed providing there is enough editing to consider it a remix, and not just two songs overlayed.
Samples and Soundbites
Significant portions of copyrighted material longer than 15 seconds may not be used.
Portions of copyrighted material of any length may not be used without significant post-production editing, as determined by FA and its moderators.
The time limit has been removed, resulting in ANY copy written material requiring significant editing.
As Part of Flash
Copyrighted music may accompany Flash as part of Fair Use provided that the music is used to compliment the work as a whole. All Flash must be original, full animation. Flash which uses simple, basic animation and/or slideshows may not use copyrighted music in such a way.
Commercial audio may be used in animation provided the audio compliments the work. Animation which uses simple, basic animation/loops or slideshows may not use commercial audio in such a way.
It's been clarified that commercial audio CAN be used in flash animations as long as it's complex. Basically, you can't just throw together a quick furry slideshow to showcase your favorite Lincoln Park song.
Adult Content
Adult Content - Audio uploads may not contain adult content (realistic depictions of sex) or obscene sounds (e.g. recordings of vomiting, waste or bowel movements, etc.).
Adult Content - Uploads may not contain realistic depictions of sex or obscene/vulgar audio (vomiting, bowel movements, etc.).
I read this as sexual lyrics are permitted, however audio that could be considered adult (aka fap material moaning and such) is not permitted.
Audio Quality
Audio should be clear with normalized audio levels. Aggressively loud, high-pitched, or distorted audio may be removed.

Music AUP Changes: What It Means To You
Posted 14 years agoAs I'm sure you've seen at the top of the page, the Acceptable Upload Policy has been updated. This includes more information on what is and isn't acceptable musically. I've provided a breakdown here for what has changed.
Original Here: http://forums.furaffinity.net/threa.....usic-and-Audio

Old policies are in red
New policies are in green.
Explanation of the changes are in black or white depending on your scheme. I am NOT an admin of FA, explanations are simply of how I understand the changes, as well as any comments or concerns I personally have.
Copyright Tracks
As a reminder, copyright audio work may not be uploaded to Fur Affinity.
The new policy is more specific in what is or isn't allowed. It now outlines that covers are only allowed when all the work is done by you! No more singing over karaoke tracks. I'm not thrilled about this, since many of my uploaded songs I have sung over instrumentals which I have purchased. Personally, I hope this gets looked into a little more, as much of my gallery may have to disappear. Make sure you have copies of your music elsewhere as this will most likely be enforced soon.
Remixes and Mashups
Remixes and mashups must contain significant work to distinguish themselves from the original content. "Significant work" is determined by the proximity to the original song (e.g. changing equalization/pitch is NOT considered "significant" work). The work must strive to create something new and original. Submissions deemed questionable will be flagged for review by an administrator.

The wording almost makes it seem like more complex Flash animations can use copy written music, however I'm not sure that this is the intention. To be safe, make sure everything in your Flash, including the music, is original.
New Policy
Adult Content - Audio uploads may not contain adult content (realistic depictions of sex) or obscene sounds (e.g. recordings of vomiting, waste or bowel movements, etc.).
The first half it a bit foggy to me. Would regular mainstream sexual lyrics be prohibited, or is it simply sexual sounds, as though somebody had taped themselves? I'm leaning to the latter, since sexuality is a common theme. I'm a big fan of the second half since I'm massively phobic of puke. The less of that I need to hear the better! That being said, I'm not sure people defecating was a staple in many audio files. I have a feeling this won't effect many of you.

So I wrote and recorded a song that's really hot, but seeing as I've been in a writer's block in the vocals department (and having loaned out my mics to my band for recording), I thought it'd be cool to make this a chance to start a little collab project.
My idea is that anyone can lay whatever vocals they like over the song and repost it, provided they give credit for my instrumentation, and send me a link so I can hear the various ideas that came up.

I am working on a German version of "Sugar Sugar" by the Archies, and I need a female vocalist who can sing the line, "Ich mach dein leben so süß. (I'm gonna make your life so sweet.)" in the two octaves (low and high). Comment here with your links or send me a note. If you're posting it on FA, make sure you put it in scraps. The best one that gets used will receive credit. So, are there any females out there who know a little German, or can at least sing in a German dialect?

Singers Wanted for X-Factor Group!

LOOKING FOR SINGERS
Ok. So I came across this contest that is like American Idol but is less strict and open to groups. Chance to win a $5 million contract.
http://thexfactor.blogs.fox.com/
I have been trying to get people on board for this but no takers. A lot of you know I am lazy and usually have no drive but something is driving me to step up for this.
I know a lot of people fear or think they cannot hit big solo so I am looking for people to join with me to give this a shot. And I need to know fast.
DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS IS MARCH FIRST
Please, have to be drama free, no divas or spot light whores, live in SoCal so we can all get together to actually practice and meet.
Would like to have a group with as many as 4-5 people (including myself of course). Guys and girls welcome. Looking for singers, not screamers and yes, some choreography will be included. But do not want to do it all.
AND HAVE TO BE FULLY DEDICATED.
AUDITION FOR THE CONTEST WOULD BE IN LA ON MARCH 27
If you want to try, send me a note please with info so we can meetup
P.S. Any wise cracks, unneed, or smartass comments/questions will be taken off. Sorry, but I am serious about this. Forgive my rudeness.

A Capella at AC2011 (For A PROPOSAL!) Vocalists Needed!
Posted 15 years agoOkay, this has to be one of the coolest ideas ever. I just got the following in a PM.
So, is anyone interested? If so, please post on this journal. You MUST be attending AC2011 and you must be able to do a capella.
So, as my title says, I need to ask a favor...
I am going to Anthrocon 2011 with my mate, and there, I plan to pop the question. ^^'
Now, the real thing is, I want it to be.... Glamorous isn't the word... I want it to be something to remember! So I was hoping you could make a Journal asking if any singers are going to AC 11' because I'm planning to do "Marry you" a cappella!
This would be a BIG help in my goal, and I thank you for your time!
~♪~

I'm trying to get a whole bunch of voices together to chant "It's the egg!" for a song that I am working on. I am planning to release it as a 7" 45 RPM single and I think this would be a neat idea. This little voice demo should show ya how to do it.
Also, please make sure that your chant is A-Capella (voice only, ie. wear headphones when you record it with the accompaniment). Send them in WAV format, 44.1 kHz to pollick529[at]yahoo[dot]ca (replace "at" and "dot" with their respective symbols when e-mailing).
So, come on guys. Let's make this happen!

A Friendly Reminder About Favs/Comments On Our Gallery!
Posted 15 years agoHello again everyone! If you have favorited or commented a work in our gallery, please remember that the original artist probably won't see it!
Make sure to go to the original submission and leave the vocalist your comments and love there!
This goes for future work as well! Our gallery is simply a compilation of others' work, located in one easy place so others can find what they are looking for.
Thank you for your time!GabberGoat Needs A Vocalist! (Hip Hop/RnB or Reggae)
Posted 15 years agoOriginally Here: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/1763978/ Seriously people, I'm looking for anybody who can do hip hop/rnb or reggae vocals. If you can perform in a language other than standard English, that's a real plus. Hell, if you even know of anyone who can perform in those styles, lemme know.
Thanks

http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/1763978/ Help A Fellow Musician Out (Keyboard For Sale)
Posted 15 years agoOriginally from
malcolmthebear
http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/1758006/I'm pretty much going to have to sell it, anyways. Even if I pawn it, I won't get the money we need to make rent this month, because the pawn store brokers here are a bunch of hard-asses. It's a Korg Triton Extreme 88 key. Originally retailed for $3200 new. Still in great condition. Asking for $2000 or best offer. You'd have to pay shipping, too (which will be oversized). You can note me, if you like.
What really gets me is that even if we can get the money we need for rent this month, there will still be next month to worry about, and job prospects here still look like shit. My one employed roommate has a job on commission, and this month was really slow. Next month may be better, but there's no guarantee...so what if we're unable to make it again next month? I'm so tired of this...I'd move, but I don't have the money to do that, unless of course I get this keyboard sold for a decent amount. I could pawn it for moving money, but I wouldn't get as much as it's worth and it'd be a guarantee to not get it back, since I'd be moving away.
I'm so tired of this...I just feel defeated. On a level I've never felt before. I haven't been able to make my life work since I moved out of my parents' place over a year and a half ago. I feel like such a failure right now, and the cost of my failure is having to give up my primary tool for music....to give up my passion. I already had to pawn my saxophone last year, and I never got it back. Now I'm potentially losing my keyboard, too. Again, I'm really sorry to those of you to whom I owe music....I'll let you know when I'm able to produce again. Commissions are closed for now, for obvious reasons.
If you are able to help Malcolm out or want to leave any comments, please see his original journal here:

Posted 15 years agoCopied from
panda66So... I recently figured out how to make Voice clips play in DNH event scripts. That obviously means I want to try doing voices!
Anyone with a mic interested?
So I had some questions. Here are the Questions and Answers. Is it a fandub?
It's a project for a vertical scrolling shooter. A free game I am desigining and programming. If you want I can give you the entire script, perhaps to help you better understand it. This journal has a link to every song in the project (except for Track 21 which is still being written): http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/1697558/
Is it singing parts only? Speaking only? A mix of both?
(These go per role)
Hiromi Matsuoka - Speaking only, Female
Kiki Tanioka - Singing~ Preferably since she's my favourite, this is to be the character singing the song I mentioned before, which is as you can guess, obviously related. She speaks in a rather chirpy lyrical manner as it is, so irrigardless, it fits her.
Uzuchi Rouha - A mix, she's this game's mascot character, like Kiki(yes, it's the same Kiki as the above ^-^;) from the previous game. As such she would be the alternate choice for the singer, but she has speech only parts.
Megumi Daisanji - Speaking only, Female.
Marisa Kirisame - Speaking only.
Reimu Hakurei - Speaking only.
Nageki no Fuuketsu - Speaking only, again~ Male this time.
Ikari Koyanagi - Male, Speaking only. It's a majority...
Musouka Musaborikuu - Singing, if possible. Disgustingly cheery singing~ Appears to be female, but is neither.
Satsuriku Shoumetsu - Speaking only. Mechanical theme with this character. Neither, but looks more masculine.
What are the character personalities?
Hiromi Matsuoka - Flustered, and very stressed. Regularly she is very dutifull and loyal to her superiors in the Tengu hierarchy. She's a bit self conscious and self depreciating.
Kiki Tanioka - Constantly cheerful, blissfully ignorant, and full of energy. Think of a squirrel, hopped up, on red bull, only happy and not about to burst into flame.
Uzuchi Rouha - Sadistic and self obsessed. http://www.furaffinity.net/view/4473038 has a good explanation of her character.
Megumi Daisanji - Seems to be very nice, in fact they're nice to the point of being disturbing. The problem is, what she actually considers to be good, nice and right, is violence, chaos, and destruction. By acting so nice to you she is rebelling against what she believes is right.
Marisa Kirisame - http://touhou.wikia.com/wiki/Marisa
Reimu Hakurei - http://touhou.wikia.com/wiki/Reimu_Hakurei
Nageki no Fuuketsu - The self loathing Narcissist. http://www.furaffinity.net/view/4436178/ has a ton of info on him in the description.
Ikari Koyanagi - Cheery, but a little cynical. It often takes him a little while to see the big picture because he's so obsessed with details. He's more likely to see the tree than the forest.
Musouka Musaborikuu - Musouka is the embodiment of what. Is gluttonous a personality? If it is, she is that. She's greedy, and spiteful.
Satsuriku Shoumetsu - He's incredibly lonely and a bit depressed. He seems to be constantly bored.
Are these original characters or are they from another source?
All characters except for two are original Characters.
Those two are Reimu Hakurei and Marisa Kirisame.
If from another source, what source so vocalists can research?
http://touhou.wikia.com/wiki/Touhou_Wiki
http://touhou.wikia.com/wiki/Marisa

What exactly are you looking for? Male? Female? Hermaphrodite Fish who can bubble in tune?
At least six female Voice actors. At least two male actors. The other two can be anything, and in fact a Hermaphrodite fish who can bubble in tune wouldn't be that bad for one of them.
If you are a Hermaphrodite fish who can bubble in tune, or talented with your voice in the more normal ways, make sure to respond to Panda's journal here: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/1748070/Online Vocal Competition at Popstation!

Want To Be Featured In Our Singers' Gallery?
Posted 15 years agoNow that our numbers have grown and we have many musicians watching us, I'd like to see some more singers featured in our gallery. This way composers have a bigger selection, AND it means you have that many more opportunities!
Our gallery consists of "Demo" pieces, which showcase each artist. If you wish to be showcased in our gallery, please send us a note with the information below. If you wish for multiple songs to be in the gallery (up to 3) please repeat the last three sections for every song. These pieces will be reloaded to our gallery with links to the originals, and labeled in a way that is easy for others to browse when looking for a perfect match to their song![/center]
This is an example. Please fill in your own info! To see how this note would translate into a Gallery submission, please see here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/4407493

Finally!
Posted 15 years agoAfter far too long of a wait, we are finally here! The Furry Singer group! As we are just starting it, it may be slow for a short while. We have teamed up with
to help form a massive network of FA vocalists. Even though we don't have many watches or watchers yet, we will soon grow. Every group begins somewhere!
As a singer, this is the place to be to get your voice out there. Find composers and other singers to collab with, or just find other talented people. As a composer, this is the place to find that vocalist you need to put the finishing touches on your piece.
Our gallery will consist of "Demo" pieces, which showcases each artist. If you wish to be showcased in our gallery, please send us a note telling us the genres you prefer as well as up to three links to FA submissions you wish for us to showcase. Don't forget to tell us what genre you would label it as! These pieces will be reloaded to our gallery with links to the originals, and labeled in a way that is easy for others to browse when looking for a perfect match to their song! Feel free to also let us know anything you would want other musicians to know. Can you write your own melodies or harmonies? Are you someone who can get a song done super fast? This info will be written in your submission. Think of it like a little mini resume about yourself to other musicians!
We can't wait to hear you!
