FHAC 2024: Trance Noir, WINNERS

We want to thank everyone for participating this year in the Further Hypnosis Art Contest 2024: Trance Noir. It was such a joy to see how many people come out this year even though we weren't able to get our usual advertising done.
There were so many wonderful entries and it was difficult to put one above another in scoring! We even had to have a tie breaking vote for the first time ever! In the end none of these artists made it easy to find a winner. After a lot of talk, debate, and going over numbers over and over we finally came up with our winners circle.
Thank you all again for a wonderful year and as always, if any artist wants to message us to find out how they scored and why we would be happy to discuss it with you and offer encouragement.

"The idea for this changed several times while I was drawing it but I leant more towards showing off the underground syndicate villian side of the story as opposed to the more typical grizzled private detective sort of vibe. Hopefully that gives it some sort of intrigue"
Judges Remarks: Creative, fun, and unique! Two judges picked this entry as their favorite in the contest. One judge absolutely fell in love with the design and made a jingle for Dirty Daze-eys Home Delivery!

Judges Remarks: One judge fell in love with the composition, interesting angle, and style of this piece. Also, they made great comment on the sexy goblins!

As usual, we understand life happens and if your entry is a little late we understand. However, anything submitted after Oct 31st is not guaranteed entry.
So far no one has requested additional time this year so we plan to stick to the deadline. However, if your entry looks like it is going to be late please let us know in a note.

We just wanted to let you know how things were going! Starting August 1st we will be announcing the latest Further Hypnosis Art Contest theme for 2024! But that's not all, we have decided to finally, yes, allowed 3D WORKS!
In case you're skimming this... WE ARE ALLOWING 3D WORKS AS ENTRIES into the contest. The only one who verbally spoke out against it was a 3D designer.
They will still be held to a high standard and we cannot guarantee any 3D works will beat out a 2D work, but, we've been asked almost every year for this and we're going to allow it.
So our judges are picked, decisions made, announcement coming soon!
That's all for now, see you all on August 1st!

Further Hypnosis is officially up and running!

Good news! After a lot of spending and filing legal documents, Further Hypnosis is officially a registered organization in the United States! This means we now have access to the funding you all have generously provided to pump out new hypnotic works and we will be working every month to bring you new content! From comics, to stories, to visual novels!
We want to grow and eventually bring merchandise to conventions and see you all in person!
It's been years in the making, but we are finally ready to pump out the hypnotic themes and works we have promised.
Thank you to you all for your support, be posting soon!

We had a need to register our name and set up the business. But now that that has been established we are heading ahead full steam! In ten days FH will be registered and have our own EIN, which will allow us to proceed.

“A Walk Through The Woods"
We asked for blatant hypnosis and we got it! Coming in first with an original idea, we see Foxard's alien character walking out of the jungle and right into a swirling whimsical hypnotic landscape! As if they were marching down the tunnel of colors absorbing their mind! Wonderfully done, the sense of wonder and enticing nature of the image won over our hearts.

What a surprising last minute entry! We want to commend the artist in using what would normally be a dismal setting, a rainy, jungle, bog, yet making it feel so alive. This image screams hypnosis and would not make a bad movie poster! With a creative bog monster, entranced cuties, and all facing the viewer, this entry rolled into second place.

“Jungle Adventure gone wrong”
Bug! A great big bug! But whether you like insects or not those eyes are gorgeous. And what a cool idea! On two legs, wearing robes and beads. This is obviously part of a cult of some kind or religious setting out in the jungle. Colorful, bright, and the detail on the mantis is nothing short of impressive. Very pretty!

This piece frankly confused us. We debated this one up and down the score board over and over. But in the end, after looking over this picture for so long we began to notice little things the artist snuck into the picture. A mysterious figure in the background? Cute patterns in the eyes? A manifest? Who is that in the plane? The more we looked the more we found. Eventually we all decided we enjoyed looking at this image so much it wound in fourth place this year. Thank you for the fun artwork!

“The Hypnosis Snake Enclosure"
By the time the scoring was done we all realized something. We liked this pic! We asked for a jungle theme and they took a risk, making their entry a reptile enclosure or herpetarium, and frankly, that was pretty cool! The theme is funny, cute, and the little snakes are adorable! Also, cleverly leaving Kaa out of the picture per our request. Overall, a fun entry.

“Wild Scents”
What happens when a bunch of hunky men go off into the jungle searching for hypno plants? This! There was no denying the time the artist put into this image. With so many characters rolling into the background and with great perspective, this made it to one of our top entries at number six.

We all loved the amount of detail put into this entry. The background alone was absolutely gorgeous. With such interesting pieces in the foreground, the only thing holding this image back was the use of blatant hypnosis. Otherwise, this may have swept the competition. We applaud the artist for their entry this year and are proud to name them as one of our winners. Wonderfully done!

“Lend your mind to Me"
And here we have it! The winning illustration of this contest! What is there to say but what an amazing job! So clean and stylized! This picture tells a whole story without a single bit of dialogue, amazing! This was the only image to receive at least one Ten (The highest score) from every judge! And though this image was not the highest rated in creativity, the sheer amount of detail and work that went into this piece along with the stunning visuals lands it at number One of FHAC 2022. Great job!

“The Prodigy VS The Purple Baron"
What amazing expressions! This illustration had our judges all gawking over the story told in this picture and we do not mean the dialogue! If you take away the dialogue you see a villan hero on rooftop, the villain literally unmasking the enraptured do-gooder! The minimalist background with its striking colors and clean appearance, the emotion of the characters, the pretty glowing! This picture was universally loved. The only thing really holding it back was the extra empty space on the bottom of the image, otherwise a perfect image. Well done!

Absolutely gorgeous piece! As usual Kittiboom brings so much to the table! Colorful, bright, and squishy! Great anatomy and the picture tells such a story, literally! Receiving almost perfect marks in skill and theme inclusion, the only thing we could have possibly asked more for was perhaps a more exciting method of hypnosis. This illustration had a wonderful sense of truism when it comes to a hero versus a villain and that was both its allure and slight detriment. Overall and absolutely stunning image that just feels so fun! Great job, Kittiboom!

This illustration has possibly more detailed characters than any other picture in the contest! We love the activity you can see in this image and the perspective is very well done! Though the saturation could have been turned up just a little and the portal in the background made more apparent, this is still such a whopping good image with so much going on. Attention to detail was appreciated, landing it at number four in the winning circle, well done!

Such a brightly colored picture! We loved how it popped! Not only that but the picture itself is a pleasant search and find for small details that tell the story. We all felt the image could have possibly had the angle widened out a bit more, but that's just because we wanted more to love! Great work, good expressions, very creative!

And the way the artist managed to separate the foreground and background, the pose, the theme, very well done! If we were to give this piece Honorable Mention for something it would be most improved! What a fun illustration! All the judges loved the theme and colors of the night. The hues were well done and the idea of mentally defeating multiple heroes through triggers was creative. In an old battle just implant an ""army"" inside the minds of the heroes and then just wait the correct moment to switch them ON. And at the moment the heroes were participating in a special party of them, she appeared and then said the trigger, and all of them hear it, the implented command inside them switched even if they resisted, now the army appeared and all hero had a "troyan" in their minds~ And now, "switched" the best hero of them. Diana or "Strike D!", used her speed powers to jump over a car and start doing that the "army" inside her mind commanded from the masked villain

The backdoor is always booby trapped, and our warrior of Jurassic Justice found herself inhaling genetically modified psychedelic mushroom vapor, the kind that relaxes inhibitions beyond what any sane or conscious person would allow. With a superhighway paved right to Raptara's decision making center, our dinosaur-turned-defender stood no chance as LiteralCobra decided to play with his newly captured prey with sultry suggestion. If you thought there was a monologue coming on, you would be correct.

However, this new Enemy Proved to be way more capable, and smarter than him, a Mysterious Purple Feline, by the name of ''The Purple Baron''... He uses floating Golden Orbs that he can control and use to channel his various psychic powers, Also a cane made of the same material of his orbs that he uses as a melee weapon when It's required for him to get his paws dirty. He tricked and outsmarted The Prodigy, stripping him away from his costume and Seducing him into revealing his true identity, Using lust to power the Intensity of his trance.

In light of multiple requests and some people having issues causing delays, we are officially extending the deadline for the FHAC until December 5th. You have five extra days to see what you can come up with. At that time there will be NO MORE extensions, and judging will commence,

I had so much fun making this! I wanted to depict a wild and kinky Halloween party, where the human guests end up being the real treats for the rambunctious furry hosts! I worked SO hard on this and I'm so happy with the final result; I hope everyone likes it! The piece is meant to almost be a sort of "I Spy" book, with small visual clues here and there to piece together everything that's happening from section to section. I tried to add as much detail as possible, and it was really fun picking out all the different costumes! I wish this site didn't make you reduce the size of the image when uploading, but hopefully it still looks good,... Halloween is my favorite holiday, so I just knew from the start that I'd be going with it for the contest.

Merry Michaelmas everyone! Michaelmas is a Christian festival observed in some Western liturgical calendars on 29 September, here we see the archangel Michael taking on a much different form in order to spread the divine awareness and bizarre reality warping mind dominance to Lily and Natalie. Typically in Michaelmas feasts a goose is served so I put it here too, not sure about wine or the glitched/Cruelty Squad aesthetic I was going for but seeing as it's not that well known I guess I'll leave it up to the judges.

the festive that i took for this is one from my country el dia de los muertos. a brief information for those who do not know it, this festivity takes place on the 1st and 2nd of November, its about welcoming the deceased by offering them what they enjoyed in life, using the flowers to guide their path and the candles to iluminate them. context of the image?, apparently someone tool very literally offering the dead something... or someone. what they will do with her? its a mistery, i made the decision to make a SFW entry, i suppose because of the meaning of the celebration for me.

This year we're only going to be saying positive things publicly about each of your works, but if any artists wants a more detailed analysis on their piece we can provide it.
